Clamp's, in the age of COVID-19
    Neil T.

In the age of the coronavirus, Clamp's chugs implacably along, and my fondness for the place has only increased. They have been, perhaps, among the establishments best suited for this pandemic, seeing as how you're served through the window, and seating is pretty well spaced out. Distancing measures are sensibly enforced, with the cooperation of my fellow Nutmeggers, for which I am grateful. The essence of the experience - enjoying delicious food outside, in a lush, green, safe-feeling time-capsule, while watching traffic go by - has not changed one bit. If anything, it's even more worth the drive than it was before. Don't forget the salt, pepper, and fried onions on your burger; try combining the chili with the cheese sauce; *definitely* try the coleslaw - other places may phone that in, but Clamp's clearly takes pride in it. (I actually never order the fries or rings anymore, I like the coleslaw so much.)

Well organized when taking your order, good food and reasonable prices. Eating outside is a little noisy with the traffic. It's okay, nothing to rave about.

So this place is off the side of the road. Its a walk and order type of place. You can take it to go or eat outside where they have tables & chairs. The food is SO good! We had burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, clam strips cuz we're fat. All of it was amazing! You can add various toppings like onions, tomatoes, and they also have ketchup, tarter sauce & stuff. The usual. Whispers:::::Get fried onions

The only sign to help you identify what this place is - on the side of the building.

Classic roadside spot; great spot for this year as it's only outside dining. We've been meaning to get here for a long time, and a beautiful day called for burgers and outdoor eating. We ordered cheeseburgers with grilled onions, a chili dog with cheese, and sides of slaw and onion rings. The good - the onion rings were great - hot, crispy, fresh. The burgers were ok - I was hoping for some char from the grill, but they were a bit more greasy than charred - the grilled onions were a nice addition. The chili on the hot dog was great - unfortunately I was really disappointed in the skinless nondescript hot dog and the neon yellow cheese. Overall, it's a nice stop on a nice day when you are craving a bit of old Americana.

Fried onion cheeseburger at the bottom, excellent onion rings top left and great fried clams with lemon and tartar sauce on the top right.

Roadside hamburger joint at its best. Good beef, well cooked and outside picnic tables. Onion rings were nice and light and crispy!

Food was very good, staff rude about letting people use the restrooms. If you have it use a restroom, do not go here.

The calamari app was very "good" as was the tuna app. I had the panko crusted Drunken Chicken which comes over mashed potatoes and VERY fresh and delicious vegetables, Massive and VERY good! Wife had the Sea Bass which she liked, but the risotto it sat on was bland. The Burgers are massive and my son rated it "very good" but had better. See the slab of bacon on top in pic. Yes the Out of This World Mac and Cheese was delicious even if not my style... They still carry a fine wine and craft beer selection including many locals. The service was good yet they sent us away because no reservation, said over an hour wait. Left phone anyway and they called 10 min later. Water with hummus dip came quickly, yet waitress was slammed. She was very pleasant and delays were acceptable being they were packed at 7PM on weekend. Ambiance had not changed from the traditional pub style with a large happy bar. Very clean with good energy all around. Will add this back onto our regular list. Keep up the good work!

Everything was cooked to perfection, with the steak being cooked medium rare. I also ordered passion fruit martinis since it was a seasonal featured drink for summer and they didn't disappoint. It was delicious, refreshing and packed a punch and I had two since I wasn't driving lol. The service was exceptional as it was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Definitely worth every ounce and I plan on returning soon.

We came here because it was highly recommended and the ambience was great. In our first visit, our food took forever to arrive and service was very slow. I ordered the Reuben and when I went to pick it up, there was a large hole in the other side of the bread and the whole thing just fell apart. . The pastrami was very dry and just not very good. Aside from that my wife's meal was very good and we had a beverage and enjoyed the ambiance. This time we went and felt that we had lucked out because there was no one in the place. Our first mistake was, we sat at a high top in the bar, but it was too close to the door, so it was very cold. Every time the door opened the cold air with flow in. I put that on us for choosing a poor seat. The waitress promptly came over and took our drink order and said she would be right back to take our food order as we were very hungry. We waited and waited and it took a while for her to arrive. It looked like she forgot about us and quickly stopped by the table after walking past And asked if we were ready and took our order without writing it down. About 10 minutes later someone else came over and said I'm trying to confirm your order because it was not written down and make sure that we had ordered was ordered properly. The place had hardly anyone in it and not all the tables were taken so we expected our food to be received rather quickly however, after about a half an hour, we started seeing the tables that came in after us were receiving their orders and we still had not arrived. We both had ordered burgers which didn't seem that complicated. After about 15 more minutes, and since we'd been there, almost an hour we still had not received our food. My wife finally went up to the bar and mentioned something to someone there and she said she would go check on the kitchen. She went into the kitchen and immediately came out with our food. Strange? So we basically waited almost an hour for our food and it appeared to have been ready in the back and just sitting there. When we first tasted our food, it was not warm at all. The fries were cold and soggy, and my both of our burgers were warm not hot. This convinced me our order was there and never picked up. At first we thought about sending it back but then after waiting almost an hour, we decided just to eat it and leave. I feel bad having to leave a bad review but it is what it is and that's what happened. I would understand if the restaurant was overly crowded but like I said there was many open tables so I'm not understanding what was the issue. They were running food out, but these runners seemed a bit confused. After two tries, I'm not sure we'll try it again because we like the other place in town up the street just as much. We traveled almost an hour just to go here. There are places that are closer also much better and actually in town.

I…read morewas skeptical at first as the White Horse positions itself as an "English pub," but in reviewing the menu - it's all over the place. Impressions waking in were terrific. Great feel, good energy, beautiful dining room and bar with a perfect fireplace. The walls are adorned with history and there is even a book to guide you around the space if you choose to learn about what makes this place unique. We ordered some appetizers to share: spinach and artichoke dip and the goat cheese and arugula pizza. The apps tasted good (although the blended/pureed consistency of the spinach dip was like none I've ever experienced before) but they were small for the price. As a public service announcement, the items we ordered are literally an individual serving. I cannot speak for other apps on the menu. Entrees were much better than the starters. I ordered the chicken tikka masala (Punjab/spicy style) and it was very good. Savory, perfectly balanced, delicious. Enough food, for sure. Not a belly-busting portion - but I appreciated how the spice was balanced with banana, cashews, and a mango chutney. Very good. One friend ordered the chicken pot pie (which our server showed excitement about) - it was beautifully composed with a flaky crust and a cute horse crouton - but the taste was a safe "meh." Under seasoned, under chickened, just ok. Our other friend ordered the mushroom and walnut pappardelle in a cream sauce. It was delicious. Different. Savory. Maybe the best entree on our table. Service was OK. Attentive. But almost over-bearing. We were having a fun time and sharing holiday gifts, etc. clearly not ready to order - so we had to ask our server for some more time 3x. I suppose it's waaaaay better than getting lost in the crowd. Just no social awareness. All in all, I'm glad we went. We had a great time. Location for us was terrific. Feel and atmosphere was really good. I'll definitely be back and am anxious to try more of a pub-forward menu (burger, wings, etc.) One pet peeve: for a place that's an "authentic" pub, their "Shepherd's Pie" is made with ground beef. Any authentic pub-goer knows shepherd's pie is always made with lamb. Cottage pie is beef. With the variety and breath of their menu, and the dishes we had, "authentic" is a relative term.

Finally used to the Batman 'Hall of Fame' but I will say, the times I've been here, the meals were all quite ample, very fairly and appropriately priced and minus my first foray in, very good service! I've been all over the menu so I can't point out any 'one' thing, but I did just have their Three Brothers (eggs) Benedict which is definitely worth noting! "Holy Unexpected Diner Experience, Batman!"…read more That's exactly what ran through my mind as I limped away from a tire blowout in New Milford, CT. While the tire shop warned me it'd be a long wait (my car apparently decided to audition for "Most Dramatic Vehicle of 2025"), my son, daughter, and I wandered across the street to 3 Brothers Diner... expecting, you know, a normal diner. BAM! POW! WHAM! We walked straight into what can only be described as the Batcave of dining. Every inch--every single inch--of this diner is covered in Batman memorabilia. From ceiling-swooping Batplanes to walls lined with Dark Knight treasures, it's like stepping into the Caped Crusader's personal brunch headquarters. Gotham could only dream of such ambiance. The place is spotless, the staff friendlier than Alfred offering warm advice, and the food? Absolutely delicious. I had the lasagna--cheesy, saucy, perfect. My son devoured his Philly cheesesteak like it was fuel for fighting crime. My daughter kept it classic with eggs, toast, and home fries, all perfectly cooked. Honestly, if you ever find yourself with a blown tire, car troubles, or just a sudden and overwhelming desire to dine with the Dark Knight--3 Brothers Diner is your spot. To the Bat-Diner!
