A roadside stand with a modern architectural design, featuring large glass windows and a wooden ceiling with LED lighting. The stand has a neon sign displaying 'Flobee's' on the roof. The area includes a small outdoor picnic space with a few chairs and a counter with a coffee machine. The scene is set at night, with a dark sky and minimal surrounding lighting, and a person is seen walking toward the stand.

This is a very cute roadside place with only outdoor seating on picnic bunches. Serves fast food burgers, tacos, fries, and ice cream. Dog, friendly kid, friendly, and easy free parking .

Depression Burger - A cheeseburger with a beef patty topped with melted cheese, pickles, and mustard, served in a soft bun. The burger is held in a person's hand, with a wooden surface in the background. The bun appears toasted, and the ingredients are visibly layered.

Once in a while, I'm doing something outside my area of CT, and I drive by a place I've heard about. A Social Media Influencer recently asked of Flobee's Roadside, "did I just discover the best burger in Connecticut?" To be honest, it seemed like an aggressive suggestion given the number of great burgers in CT, but the thought did stick with me. About a week later, I happened to drive by Flobee's on my way to a nearby spot. I was curious about how good the burger really was, so I stopped. As the name suggests, Flobee's is a modern take on a classic roadside stand. The stand has a cool and clean aesthetic. There's no inside seating, but there's a comfortable picnic table area out back. Service was friendly and efficient. I just ordered a Depression Burger. I assume they use the phrase "Depression" because it's a smash burger, so they have to depress it. See what they did there? It comes with one patty, but you could add more. It's topped with sautéed onions, American cheese and pickles. The quality of this burger was perfectly appropriate for a nice upscale roadside stand. But I did not connect with this burger as a possible best burger in CT contender. I did not try my wife's Strawberry Softserv. She said it was pretty good. I think Flobee's is well worth checking out if you're in the area. I would not expect the best burger in CT though. 4 Stars

Shrimp po boy - pretty good! - The image shows a shrimp po boy sandwich with fried shrimp topped with sauce, placed inside a bread roll. The sandwich also contains shredded lettuce and tomato slices, all arranged in a disposable takeout container. The bread appears toasted, and the shrimp are golden brown, with the sauce drizzled over them. The container is partially visible, with some sauce smudges on the sides.

Pretty good for a roadside stand! It doesn't look like much and is not in the best location (close to road and can't walk to anywhere else) however it is a convenient stop to pick up lunch from doing errands etc as it is along the main road. I don't have experience with the previous business so can't compare to that but have been frequenting Heibecks down the street for a long time. The menu here is on the smaller side however the items we've tried have been surprisingly good. The ingredients seem to be of good quality, fresh and everything is seasoned well. We've tried their kids meals, vanilla milkshake, fried pickles, shrimp po boy and chicken sandwich. The food was not overly greasy prices are reasonable. You can order online via toast and pick up at the side window - pickup times have been accurate (about 15 minutes or less). The staff is mostly local high school kids. There is an area in the of the parking lot with picnic tables and bathrooms. A big con of Heibecks is there is no bathroom. We prefer the milkshakes/ice cream at Heickbecks- the vanilla milkshake here was on the lighter side (maybe they put more milk) but that is just preference. We will come back to order again and hope they do well.

Lmao $7 hotdog - A hot dog with mustard in a foam takeout container on a table, accompanied by a small clear plastic cup of water. The hot dog is in a bun with a sausage and mustard topping. The table surface is visible, and part of a person's arm and scissors are seen in the background.

This place is a joke, right? A social experiment to see how much they can charge for insanely small portions of mediocre food? $14 for 6 cup-o-noodles sized Ramen shrimp is a slap in the face.

Menu board for Flobees roadside stand in Ridgefield, CT, listing food options including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, sides, and drinks. The menu provides detailed descriptions and prices for each item, such as the basic burger, depression burger, falafel burger, hot dog varieties, fried chicken sandwich, and sides like fries and coleslaw. The board emphasizes the casual, fast-food style of the establishment with a colorful, checkered background and a prominent business name at the top.

This is the all newly owned and updated Ridgefield Ice Cream shop! Other than the infamous recognizable landmark on route 7, everything about this place has changed. Let's dissect a little more... The footprint of this place hasn't changed but the decor has greatly been updated with pops of color, snazzy logo, utensil counter and a new real recessed seating area where you no longer have to fear for your life and get life insurance as you're eating your treat on the curb close to a main road! I believe they even have made a "restroom cabana" near their camp like setting kumbaya eating area. Really great touch. Felix is no longer the reigning mustached king here-new sheriff in town who seems to have pride in his creation and a really nice staff to accommodate a popular storefront. Flobee's is no longer all about "JUST" ice cream but it now offers food such as fried chicken sandwich, poboys, burgers, meatloaf sandwich, sides and kid's meals. Haven't had the chance to try their food but, a few choices have definitely intrigued me and has me yearning to come back and try how they fare in terms of food. As for ice cream, they offer hard and soft serve-this is where it all changes and for me, it's not for the better. The hard ice cream is from Longford's-that's a big change from Felix making his. If you like Longford's, great, but for me, there is far better. Their soft serve is also different in many ways-first off, you can get a legitimate twist! Not half bottom chocolate with half top vanilla (or vise versa), and they also have strawberry soft serve which you can also twist with vanilla-big change. As for quality, sadly, this trio did not win my heart-the creaminess was completely missing. This was more like ice milk meets soft serve-kind of reminds me of "Dole" soft serve texture. Very different from what I know soft serve to be. As for the strawberry, it reminded me of Nesquick Strawberry milk with a very fake bright bubble gum pink color. I opted for the waffle cone, which I do not think they make, but damn, that was pretty tasty...wish its top half matched! I am not done with this place as in all fairness, I must return and tastes a few of their offerings and see how they compare with the stand down the road which I always enjoyed. Again, they have different offerings which are really appealing and I am hoping that they are flavorful and texturally satisfying unlike the ice cream. I will be back because in my book, everyone gets a second chance but I won't be satisfying my sweet tooth here. As for pricing, the food isnt badly priced-ice cream prices are comparable to others.

Food and prices - The image shows a menu board at a roadside stand with a modern aesthetic, featuring sections for hot dogs, kids meals, drinks, sides, housemade sauces, and sweets. The hot dog options include classic, bacon, and bird dogs, with prices from $8 to $9. Drinks and sides include canned beverages, beer, wine, fries, pickles, and cabbage slaw. Kids meals offer single patties, hot dogs, and small sides, with drinks. Sweets include milkshakes and baked goods like cake and rice krispies treats. The menu emphasizes food safety with a note about consuming raw or undercooked meats.

I wanted go like it but my chicken was raw in the middle. Fries were good but hard to look past the minimum requirements for fried chicken.

Wow, it's getting really tough to stand by this place right now, and the scuttlebutt amongst the…read morelocals confirms I'm not alone in this opinion. It's getting more and more disappointing every time I go. One time recently, I ordered the Jesse Burger, which was a classic from the old menu. It had shrunken drastically in size. Okay, I can never finish a burger anyway, and I didn't finish this one either. But while Old Ancient Mariner's burgers weren't exactly the best around, this one was dry and just trying to look fancier, an absolute downgrade. But worst of all, the scallops were absolutely terrible, and for around $38 I believe. I was excited to try them, but they were undersized and chewy, and the cauliflower purée underneath was grainy and disgusting. It barely qualified as a side at that price point anyway. What is this new owner doing??? We're all whispering about it in Ridgefield and taking bets. I really hope he turns it around. Right now, I can't recommend it for anything but booze with townies, if they even keep going.

It was delicious!!! totally unexpected but the New England clam chowder was stellar. Chunks of…read morebacon, croutons atop a creamy clamy thyme scented soup. The calamari was very good too, and we also got fish and chips, which had yummy crunchy shoe string fries with 3 light and crispy cod fish. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area. A great place to eat before you check out a show at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The place is cute, needs a little updating that rug- but it was clean and comfortable.
