Truly a pleasant surprise! I loved the rustic interior which made the cafe feel cozy and familiar. The pastry display is actually very beautiful and thoughtfully designed. I loved the menu that had so many options, including a seasonal menu. The food was delicious and you get a lot of bang for your buck! The coffee alone is enough to visit this place regularly. I loved that they used and sold local ingredients like Cross Culture Kombucha and a local farm. I honestly was so impressed by everything and cannot wait to go back!! Pretty much the only cafe spot in Danbury so it can get very busy! There are various pastries you can buy that vary depending on the day. This time I ordered a BLT sandwich which was very good. My favorite thing was the yogurt bowl with the berry compote. So simple yet so satisfying. I typically order a vanilla iced latte. It's very eclectic inside with fun seating choices. My only thing is that are areas around the restaurant that don't have a huge level of cleanliness. It would be great if this could be changed. That's preventing my last star. read more

I wanted to like this place because it looked promising....but the food fell a little short. The almond croissant was yummy, but my breakfast wrap was lacking any flavor. I also noticed that the tables are not wiped clean in between patrons. The tables are simply cleared. Not very hygienic and this is the biggest reason I won't come back. We stopped in after doing some bridal dress shopping on Main Street and I'm so glad we did. The coffees and teas we had tasted great and the desserts were also very good! I was looking for an iced coffee but with lower caffeine than a full espresso shot and the barista worked with me to make the perfect drink. I really appreciated the extra attention. I had an overwhelming day and lost track of a bag with some very special bridal items in it. By the time I realized it, Mothership had closed. I filled out a contact form and let them know that I believed I left the bag there. I didn't anticipate a response, but wanted to send something ahead of the phone call I was going to make the next day. I got a response within a couple of hours- they contacted the closer and she let me know that my items were found! I'm eternally grateful for the peace of mind and for them going above and beyond for me. Needless-to-say, we were back in there today to pick up my items... and while we were at it, we got coffee, iced tea, some sweet treats and a Tshirt. It was busy this morning but we received kind attention! It is quite warm in the facility, so if it is a particularly hot or humid day, you may prefer takeout. Absolutely delicious and in such a cozy and warm dining room! We love mothership and keep coming back and bringing friend and family. There's truly something for every appetite and dietary restrictions are easy to manage here. They have amazing baked goods that are baked fresh daily and dont forget a delicious coffee or tea. They even make their own iced tea in house. As far as food goes I love the salads and the egg dishes are unique and delicious. I've never disliked a single bite. Everything feels well priced. I will start by saying we are longtime supporters of Mothership and customers since they opened. We recently moved to PA and made a point to visit Mothership for breakfast on a return trip to CT. we ordered a few items to go, breakfast entrees (an egg skillet and an oatmeal), and two lattes. We got our number and retired to a table to wait. my husband's egg skillet arrived, followed shortly thereafter by the lattes. I continued to wait, but no oatmeal. I finally went back to the counter, waited in line again, to ask the person who rang me out about the status of the oatmeal. It turns out she was supposed to make it at the counter. a co worker next to her apologized and said they would bring it right out to me. So, back to the table I went. where I waited. And waited. my husband is now finished his meal and latte. So he returns to the counter (where there is now no line) to ask the person who checked us out about the oatmeal. She had not even started it! She then said she would bring it to us but my husband refused and told her he would wait. He then brought me what I at first thought was a latter because there was a mug of frothy milk with no oatmeal in sight. Turns out chunks of gummy oatmeal and blueberries were floating in a giant cup of milk. It was the first item I've ever had from Mothership that was not just bad. it was gross. We were so bummed about the entire experience, and it has definitely negatively colored what has until now been a love for Mothership. read more

We just left Mothership on Main and wow! I am super happy with the food quality and options here! I elected to get the Brioche French toast with a yummy berry compote, and I added a side of 1 poached egg and bacon. Hubby got a shroom omelette and we split a goats in the garden salad with chicken. There was so much food we could have very easily fed another whole adult, but I was in a "girl dinner for breakfast" kinda mood. The brioche French toast was a little drier than I preferred, but the fresh berry compote, and real maple syrup sure made up for that. I also realize not everyone likes their French toast eggy and soft cooked in the center like me... The poached egg was poached to perfection. I feel like I am probably one of the pickiest people on earth when it comes to a poached egg, but the yolk was warm, and the perfect balance of runny and gooey. The white was fully cooked and still soft enough for my crispy bacon to pierce it from just laying next to it (really; perfection). The salad...I will definitely be craving it from now on. The chicken and beets were cooked with balsamic and they had the perfect balance. Not too vinegary, not too sugary, not overpowering. You could still taste the freshness of the food, and enjoy the natural flavor along with the richly flavored ingredients. The fennel was a wonderful addition and one of my favorite parts of the salad. Everything came together so exquisitely and my tastebuds danced as each bite hit my tongue. My Mr really enjoyed his omelette; but since it had onions I didn't partake. We brought home enough leftovers for a lunch as well, and now they got me counting the minutes until lunchtime. 10/10, will definitely come again. read more

I was looking for a great/unique breakfast place in the area and mothership on main definitely stands out as one of the best! I love the Idaho girl skillet. The ingredients are always fresh. I was also on a mission to find the best pancakes in the area and I believe they did have the best pancakes but they got rid of them. Cute coffee and breakfast spot with a relaxed vibe. I order a normal coffee with vanilla syrup and it was very good - exactly what you would expect going to a local coffee/pastry shop. Husband ordered the chicken and pao de queijo waffles dish, which is chicken and waffles Brazilian style. The waffle itself was made from Brazilian cheese bread rather than traditional mix. We both really liked it, but just be aware in case you have a traditional chicken and waffles thought in mind. Chicken itself was fried well and had good flavor. I ordered the avocado toast. I liked it, but I do wish it had another layer of freshness to it since it felt a little heavy with the egg, avocado, and chipotle sauce. A little pickled red onion would have been perfect! Parking is hit or miss. There are about 6 spots in the front and a few in the back. We went on a Monday morning there was only one spot left in the front. But once you're inside, there ample seating with about 15-20 tables that can fit groups from 2-6. Really cute spot with a fun friendly vibe and helpful service. read more

I love coming here. The atmosphere is just so lively, calm and friendly. The staff is amazing. There's a gentlemen that normally helps us on the sitting side and he is phenomenal. We love his personality and love all his recommendations all the time. I always tell him about my allergies and he works around everything and substitutes with me. The food is delicious. I love their vegan avocado, tomato, tofu on their bread with chimichurri sauce. Although I don't eat the bread bc of the cheese. I mix it all up with salad that it comes with and it's so yummy. We took a table right in front of the kitchen and watched the Baker prepare lovely treats and watched all the food come out of the kitchen! Yum! While all the tables were taken, the atmosphere remained happy and quiet. We watched customers transition from retirees to students to young moms with littles - all are welcome. After a trip to the Danbury hospital we went looking for a breakfast/ brunch place. Yelp listed this place just a short distance away. The pictures of the food looked great. The menu seemed like fun so we went. The inside atmosphere was inviting although since we entered through the " back door", we must have looked a little disoriented. About 5 steps in, one if the regular customers approached us and gave us all the inside " scoop"... always a good sign of a friendly place when a customer is eager to help. The food was fresh, plentiful, flavorful and authentic. Many of the dishes come from a Latin cuisine and would have made Chef Rick Bayless envious. Where do I even begin...SO, first thing's first - I swear this whole review is dedicated to our server: Will! He was amazing and absolutely made our experience at Mothership one of a kind! Came here on a Sunday right at the peak time, assumed we would never even be able to get a seat in here. From the outside, you would NEVER imagine what's inside. Never judge a book by it's cover? Also, I happen to be on a gluten free detox which also made this a little harder for me to try to even get some awesome breakfast. I'm also vegetarian and don't eat eggs. I'm only saying this so you can get an idea of how complicated a person like me walking into a bomb brunch spot is. Basically, in my brain, I was only going to be able to eat a salad with coffee...gross combo btw. Well. Here's what totally changed my whole morning around: Will. Basically: Mothership On Main caters to almost all of your dietary needs. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, there are SO many options. On that note, can we skip to the fries part? Queso and chimichurri...SOLD. Literally still dreaming with them. Such an amazing place, staff, ambiance. You can come in, order from the bakery area (which btw also have lots of gluten free options), get a hot drink, a cocktail, chill in the lounge area if you want things more casual.
