    Hot Honey Scone -Wich

Such a cute restaurant, perfectly themed for a tea party! Large menu with unique options, as well as an enormous list of teas. They had alcoholic beverages as well. The scone sampler was great and gave us a good taste of everything. I really enjoyed my scone-wich as well. The Royal Wedding tea was also delicious and I am not typically a huge tea fan. Service was a little slow, but they were also quite busy. Was a great place to chat with friends amongst good food and drink. I found prices very reasonable too!

While visiting Connecticut, I found this place because my mother loves tearooms'. We were not disappointed. Walkin was not an issue, staff was very friendly. Cream cheese cucumber sandwiches and the Cole slaw were delicious. Green hot cinnamon tea was wonderful.

Florrie Kaye's is absolutely adorable. They offer a wide variety of tea options, and having tried their signature sweet and savory scones, I can confidently say you can't go wrong with any of them. The salads are delicious, and the sandwiches are great too. If you're having trouble deciding, I recommend the afternoon tea so you can get a little bit of everything.

Great selection of teas with very kind servers! Parking is big challenging on a busy Saturday morning but my mom enjoyed her 75th birthday.

One of my favorite places to eat of all time. A little background info, England is one of my favorite places to travel to. I love the food there, I'm obsessed with tea time and Harrods. Just everything. Let me tell you, Florrie Kaye's matches that vibe and quality to the T. I feel like I'm back in England. It really is mind blowing how they are enable to encapsulate the flavor in their food as if I was eating it at Harrods. It really scratches that itch if I'm craving it and don't feel like flying across the pond to have that experience.

Classic British Scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. My only critique is that they should not have charged extra for clotted cream

UPDATE: Before leaving our delightful afternoon tea last week, I visited the cake counter and selected a savory scone and pan au chocolate for my friends, husband, since I kept her so long. The word on the street is that he loved the treats. Must return soon!

If you need your high tea fix, you need to come here! Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a party of 9 and we sat comfortably! The choices for tea were endless. For appetizer we shared one of the tea sandwich towers. The scones were so good! (Pretty sure I would come back just for those). I was the odd one out when I ordered an Arnold Palmer to drink and for my entree ordered the ham and Brie croissant. Bonus: in the back of the restaurant they have a little store where you can buy tea and other British items! I ended up finding a pistachio spread I had been on the hunt for. ($14)

The food was fresh. The service was excellent. A nice place for a party, family, special tea with granddaughter, or solo. I cannot wait to try their new location.

Hands down the most consistently lovely experience. I've had one of every pie and all of them are top notch. The crust is crazy good, flakey and buttery and perfect. If I tried to speak at all that is rude??? This was after her daughter hung up on me without even letting me complete a sentence. So I called back and the owner answered. I bought two $5 scones that turned out to be baked yesterday and were cold and hard from being kept in the refrigerator. According to the owner **I** was supposed to ask if they were fresh, or cold, or needed to be warmed up. It was all on me to find out. Really??? I wasn't supposed to assume they were fresh. Seriously?? It's a bakery. The **common and accepted practice** for a bakery is to sell "day old" baked goods as just that.....day old, and for a slightly lower price than same day freshly baked. Customers are supposed to know that they are buying a day old product and not same day fresh. The fact that they are selling a product and not selling it as day old is dishonest. Why would a customer be *expected* to ask if the scones are fresh? And one wonders how many days they would continue to sell those same refrigerated and old scones? I have purchased from their stand at the Beacon Farmer's Market many times and loved it. The young man who I buy from is great, always friendly and nice. The woman, who I assume is the owner is a horrible, rude woman. She went on a tirade about how I was supposed to find out if the scones were fresh, just on and on and on, and about how rude I was and my "tone". In her opinion the customer is always wrong. Awful person, obviously on the defensive. What a horrible way to run a business and a horrible and unprofessional way to interact with a customer. Just an awful woman. Here's a little tip....if you let the customer speak, finish a sentence and listen to them rather than not allowing them to speak they might not have that "tone". As soon as I tried to speak I was "rude", simply because I was speaking and not listening to her tirade. This woman is the rudest and most hostile business owner I have encountered. Oh.....I also bought a pie....that I just looked at. I specified apple and strawberry. The box is labeled apple and strawberry but the pie inside is blueberry. And the bottom crust is not done.

I don't understand a lot of the negative reviews here. On a rainy stormy night we drove about 1/2…read morehour from Kent to visit this place that I had heard so much about, and the food did not disappoint. They have mint juleps at the bar, very nice! We split a caesar salad for an app, plenty for both of us, and perfectly dressed and crisp (despite some other reviewer whining about it being "bland"). For entrees, I'm not normally a meat loaf lover, but was intrigued by the inclusion of black truffle oil and marsala sauce and so ordered it. It was rather outrageously good, the accompanying summer veggies very flavorful. Partner had the seafood pot pie, very yummy except for the inclusion of fennel, which I personally do not care for. He loved it although the broth/gravy was a little thin for his taste. He plans to thicken it up a bit when he tackles the leftovers. My Cotes du Rhone wine with meal was delicious, but came in a smallish glass; could have benefited from a larger pour and a larger glass to expand the aroma. For dessert, which we don't always order, we had some sort of perfectly decadent chocolate lava type cake with just the right amount of ice cream. Way better than any lava cake I ever had! The accompanying coffee, even my decaf, was stellar. We sat in the room opposite the bar, at the windows next to the tumbling brook outside. Very nice atmosphere. The only mistep I would say was that when we called at 7.30 to make reso's, the gal on the phone stressed that the "kitchen closes at 8:00" and that we would have to order right away. We said okay no problem but were a tad worried about being rushed. She hung up before I could give my name and number in party. When we arrived, about 10 minutes to 8, the hostess who had answered the phone seemed confused and asked us if we were the ones who had called to see "if they were open". I said, well, we called for reservations, but you hung up before I could give my name. Despite this initial unwelcome-vibe weirdness, our waitress, Fiona, made us feel perfectly welcome and not rushed. Although she too did come to tell us, about 15 minutes in, that "the kitchen was closing" but we had already ordered and desserts weren't an issue. Something must have happened with a customer to make them gun-shy about this. In a nutshell, don't show up inside of an hour of the posted closing time if you want to be sure about getting served. And BTW the closing times on Google are incorrect; they are only open until 10 on Fridays and Saturdays, not every day. Although it's a long drive from where we actually live, we definitely plan to come back in winter to sit next to the cozy fireplace and sample the famous chicken pot pie and shepherd's pie croquettes. My partner absolutely loved this place, and he's quite picky.

To top it all off, I was confined to the bathroom shortly thereafter. Don't have solid proof this place was the culprit.... But I don't have solid anything else either Update: my partner has food poisoning too. Do not come here. The lovely location is not a good enough excuse to ruin your night.
