I am a Realtor so I've probably hit every Starbucks in the state! I love the Newtown location. I love the makeover and the outdoor seating. The staff is only nice and friendly. I happen to change my order quite often and they are always giving me tips on how I can perfect my drinks. The manager Becky is the nicest and most upbeat person every time I see her! I also like thats is one of the larger stores, seems many have redesigned and made there seating less which I'm not a fan of since a lot of people (including myself) tend to work out of them. *Bonus* love the new drive through! read more

I've been going to this Starbucks for years and never in my years of going here did I experience something so unprofessional. I mobile ordered my one iced coffee with cream and caramel drizzle very simple drink to make. I had my dog and 3 month old baby in the car with me so I went through the drive thru which was all backed up. This is typical for this location they must be understaffed but I always wait in the line. I waited over 20 minutes in line got to the window they told me my drink wasn't ready and that I'd have to go back around and either wait another 20+ minutes because they are running behind or come inside which I would never leave my dog in the car and can't take her in with me. I was definitely not waiting another 20 minutes. The amount of time we spent arguing about how ridiculous that was they could have made my drink that takes a minute to make. They refused and I asked for a refund. Horrible experience read more

I mobile ordered my drink while at my house, then showed up to the drive through to pick it up. I waited in the line for about 20 minutes. (It was the morning rush totally do-able) I finally got to the window and was asked by the male worker to pull around again because they hadn't made my drink yet. The line had doubled by then and I had to wait another 30 minutes. My order was simply a tall brown sugar shaken espresso. No other items, just a tall drink. I wasted so much gas sadly in this drive through. A customer should never be told to come back after waiting for 20 minutes. My drink was good though. Idk I can't justify this for a drive through, Especially for a tall drink no other items. By the time I got to the window the second time my iced drink was pretty melted. read more

Stopped in to try the brown sugar cortado and have to say this location was filthy! The staff was nice, the floors were sticky and the very visible counters were dirty, garbage bin full to the brim. Not typical Starbucks standard! The cortado was great, but after driving for 10 mins became nauseous! Much potential to do better! read more

I love going to Starbucks and honestly I go here very frequently.I always get a delicious chocolate cookie crumble frap and a grilled cheese but recently tried the glenda's pink potion.The grilled cheese,underrated.It's literally heavenly and if you have tried it you know what i mean.After the storm a couple weeks ago they remodeled inside Starbucks very cozy vibes and LOVE the merch section!The service is a little slow but the baristas are really nice.If you happen to be in Newtown definitely recommend coming to this location. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! Went inside because I wanted to use my own mug. What a mistake. The drive-thru and mobile order are the only priority for these people. They literally ignored me standing at the register for 10 minutes until I asked if someone was going to take my order. "Oh, you haven't been helped yet?" was the reaction. Then it took almost another 20 minutes to actually get my order made. 30 minutes in Starbucks for one simple drink is not even close to okay. Don't go here. Better off finding another location. I've seen this Starbucks in its morning and afternoon rush and in the mid afternoon hour with people whiling away hours and school kids coming in for a snack and frappachino and wifi. It's a good location, and the staff is very proficient, helpful and capable. And the food good. Can't find anything to complain about. I highly recommend it. I also sometimes park at caraluzzi and choose to walk to the Starbucks to stretch my legs as the parking is very tight, and during rush-hours, it is quite a while before you actually manage a left turn to get in or out! read more

As far as Starbucks goes, one of the better ones! Parking in front can be tight, but there is more parking in the back. The service is always prompt and friendly, and they've never been out of anything I've ordered! Used to be one of the best Starbucks stores, but it has turned into one of the worst. A very busy location, the Baristias used to have the customers moving quickly and were friendly, competent and even fun. Now lines out the door and a 10 minute wait for a simple whatever size coffee in the morning is common. The reason? Store management has shifted the experienced Baristas to the late afternoon shift! Late afternoon! I guess that's to handle the mad rush for people getting their caffeine fix at 6pm for their evening commute home! What has replaced the great, competent, courteous, friendly, fun Baristas? Plodding, depressed, morose, characitures of a Starbucks Barista. I have taken to avoiding my former Starbucks store in favor of the on in New Fairfield and re-heating my coffee when I get to work. Oh well. Updating my review from 2/2013. Starbucks in Newtown is back to its former status as the one of the best Starbucks stores in the area. The best Baristas have been put back on the "rush hour" shifts and the very busy store runs way more efficiently than any other. Charlie, Jess, Angela, and Mgr David (plus all the others) deserve mad props! read more

This Starbucks is my absolute favorite location. It was recently built and it is clean and comforting. The level of sanitation is excellent. The drive through it easy to go through and it has a nice screen so you can see what you are ordering. The staff is super friendly and willing to make conversation. Outstanding staff, but the decor of this new cafe is cold and impersonal. It's as if they were going for a Cold War-era Warsaw theme: plain grey walls and a concrete floor. With no soft surfaces in the whole store, the place gets very loud and cacophonous, and is not good for conversation. Again, great crew. Just not a pleasant place to hang around. read more

Starbucks currently has, in my opinion, the best coffee in town. However, as with most Starbucks, you're going to get an experience on par with any other Starbucks. On the upside, the baristas there are friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure your coffee is just right. However, if the manager is behind the bar (baldish guy with glasses), WATCH OUT! I've walked out of the store before to avoid having him make my coffee. He cheaps out on syrups (never had a caramel macchiato with so little caramel). He's also not at all willing to work with the customer. This is my favorite Starbucks location. The coffee and food are just as good as any Stabucks store. But the staff in this store are better than most at welcoming customers in a warm and relaxed way. They work hard and pump out the orders. But they smile and treat customers with courtesy. That makes a big difference. read more
