    Inside view to back. Lol

Tried this place on a whim. Our group enjoyed this place immensely. It used to be a French place but recently became an Italian restaurant. PRKING - like Fairfield it it horrid DECOR - very elegant and worth noting there are a small number of tables. I'd make reservations for a weekend attempt. ENTRANCE- greeted quickly and seated right away albeit it was Thursday night at 6:30 pm SERVICE- very attentive and congenial even the bus were active. Good thing too as tables are small so clearing dishes is a great thing VINO - I tried the house Cabernet that was decent. Didn't try the bottles as I wasn't with a wine crowd. Lol APPETIZERS- all I can say is wow. My scallop dish was out of this world. The fried mozzarella was prepared differently and was unusually good. Others had the lobster bisque that I was told was excellent ENTREES- my linguine and clam dish was great. I sometimes use it as a comparison when I'm at a new restaurant. Reviews from others were equally good for the fluke dish and seafood pasta dish DESSERT - we all shared a lava cake that was great PORT - I tried a Port as an after dinner drink. It was great. So try if you are into that like me PRICE - our friend insisted on paying so I have no great insights. But the menu is not big and prices for appetizers ranged $15-$20. Prices for entrees ranged $18-$30

I had been reading the reviews of this place for some time and finally decided to give them a try. It was a bit later in the evening so we decided to call and see if they were still serving dinner, luckily they were. The restaurant is a bit the small side so I recommend you call and do reservations. They have both outside and inside dining, we chose to eat inside since it was a bit cold outside. For dinner my girlfriend had the beef corn empanadas and I had the surf and turf. My girlfriend enjoyed the empanadas especially with the homemade hot sauce. The surf and turf was absolutely delicious. It was cooked at a perfect medium rare temperature and it was served over sautéed spinach with a Gorgonzola, mushroom cream sauce. The steak came with 3 shrimps as well. The meal was excellent! I truly enjoyed my meal and I look forward to trying other items on the menu in the very near future. The staff was excellent. Everyone was so helpful from the server to the bartender.

We had an absolutely fabulous experience tonight at Aurora's. The staff was very nice and professional. The restaurant was cozy and not too loud. It's all about the food and ours was all excellent. The bread they served as we got seated was a fresh pita with an olive tapenade, pesto oil and ricotta cheese. It was a nice light start. Burratta with grilled sweet corn and pear with a balsamic glaze. This was a tasty sweet dish that everyone enjoyed. For dinner I was in the mood for more olives and the waitress suggested the salmon. It was served over julienne vegetables with olives and capers. Wow it was really one of the best salmon dishes I have had in years. My wife enjoyed the butternut squash soup and my daughter absolutely loved the short rib ravioli. Overall we were all very impressed with Aurora's tonight. Was a nice spot.

This is one of the best meals I've had in Fairfield! I do not cook. So when my restaurant dining experience is beyond absolutely fabulous, made with TLC, & feels like a decadent (it's so good, I'm indulging) - home cooked meal - then consider said restaurant an absolute GEM! The ambience alone hails welcome, family, friendship, kindness, romance - whatever good vibration is on your agenda that day - will be fashioned on your table. There is a European feel going on here. It is not Positano in Italy - think Larnaca, Cyprus, nestled within a seaside promenade. Just imagine you are offshore with a buzzing bar, the waterfront is your table - where everybody knows your name, & the seafood is so fresh - like fresh of the line - Catch My Drift! In the food department our table ordered Scallops in Lobster Brandy Sauce - (Mmm Mmm Mmm Good)! The dish is served over asparagus, cherry tomatoes, parmesan risotto, & fresh green pea purée - $30. Note this was my dish & let's just say lock, stock, & barrel - I embraced everything before me. Swordfish Steak - served over grilled asparagus, topped with corn, cilantro, tomatoes in a soy & mustard sauce - $30. Another meal with delightful presentation. What stood out most for me was the fresh corn which was literally cut off the cob, the bright colors of the fresh avocado & tomatoes. A round of applause is in order for the well executed steak! Chicken With Shitake Mushrooms - $26, plated in a light cream sauce with asparagus. Though I did not try this dish, it truly looked amazing and Wendy raved about it (on my must try list). The last dish was on the specials. It was a blackened Mahi Mahi - the cut of fish was perfection. Every intricate detail was in adherence. The food came out piping hot, Byron and his entire staff were all smiles, engaging, & left no stone unturned. One must try there delicious desserts and order from their solid wine list. We had two bottles of their Kunde Cabernet Sauvignon - add to your must try list. #HatApproved!!!!! Thank you Bob & Wendy for introducing us to such a hidden restaurant gem. I look forward to many more meals

Made a reservation for our anniversary. My wife and I were looking forward to this meal all week since we have 4 kids and we are never alone. The night started with the moms table next to us legit screaming f bombs left and right in my wife's ear so she couldn't hear a word I said. Then another table bumping into her every time they went in and out and not even like an "oooops sorry!" Now a restaurant can't control it's patrons but they can control the quality of what they serve. There was no quality control at all. The lights were on full force so bright there was just no ambience, on a Friday night. We ordered sangria and wine. My wife's sangria had a molded slice of strawberry in it. I let that go. Ordered scallops and steak rollatini for apps. Scallops were like hockey pucks nothing was seasoned. Steak was honestly just gross like no seasoning not even salt and for an $18 app to get basically steak sandwich from shop rite is outrageous. My wife had ordered surf and turf and I ordered lobster risotto for our meals. Surf and turf again shrimp overcooked terrible, steak was fine, spinach underneath burnt in certain spots - so weird. I start dismantling the lobster out of the shell - which really it should be poached for a risotto but whatever and I cut in and it's raw and cold in the middle. I send it back, they don't refire the entire ticket so my wife eats alone. My food comes out the second time and the risotto is raw crunchy and the wine isn't even cooked off which is the reason YOU CAN'T RUSH a Risotto. Now I'm pissed and ask for the bill - they took off the risotto but didn't even offer us a drink or anything. So I asked to speak to the manager and the response we got was "what do you want me to do? It's the first I'm hearing about it", now I'm beyond livid. So you're the manager and you're not expediting for quality control? I guess he was too busy bartending. Someone needs to control that kitchen. So we just walk out. Never in my life have I sent food back 2x in one meal. And to be honest I can't remember when the last time I sent anything back. But for nearly giving me food poisoning and then letting my wife eat alone I never thought I'd get a response that I did. I will never go back there. Under no circumstances actually and anyone that asks me I'll tell them this place is trash because it is. We ended up going to the castle and having drinks and I took wings home so basically our friend Patrick saved our night with the best Irish Pub in town. And if the owner sees this don't offer me anything except a full refund. I will never step foot in your establishment again.

We came here for my Dads 70th birthday and it blew us all away. My Dad is extremely picky about restaurants as he feels they are often overpriced for something he could cook better, but he was so happy with his meal, all 4 of us were. I got the short rib ravioli (as did my brother) and it was delicious. When I first saw the plate I didn't think it's be enough but it was the perfect serving size. The cream sauce was amazing, all the flavors really blended amazingly. Dad got the pork sorrentina and raved about it, said he'd go back and get it again, which I've never heard him say. My brothers girlfriend got the linguine Del Mar and enjoyed it as well. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Was a little bummed to not see chicken franchaise, when it was on their website so hopefully they'll have that in the future.

Another wonderful meal, outside and safe, presented by Aurora's. The lemon shrimp is my go-to and I have to make myself slow down so as not to inhale it. My BF made a meal of two apps for his lunch - crab stuffed avocado and the scallops. Both super yummy. I love this place and I love the kind servers and the great outdoor space, just off the parking lot so it gets great sunshine. Go. Yumola!

Outdoor space - A restaurant's outdoor patio features tables set with blue glassware, napkins, and salt shakers, with umbrellas and string lights overhead.

But because it was so cold today, we picked one close to the train station for our lunch for three, and it turned out to be a great choice after our meal at Ryebird. Their website describes Ryebird as "A Neighborhood joint where friends and family meet" and that seems pretty much spot-on. The bar is gorgeous, the dining room is beautifully decorated with red painted walls, dark distressed wood tables, and stainless-steel colored chairs. The service was great, I mean outstanding. Our server Leo was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a few conversations with Manager Thomas who was very charming and a real joy to talk with. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! OK, here we go! Our party of three went with a small Chicken Soup for The Soul with Cheesy Bread ($14) for me. What's Cheesy Bread? Well, how about three toasted pieces of gooey pizza bread topped with a feta spread and olive oil. My brother-in-law went with their Daily Pot Pie ($23 for Chicken today), with a house-made buttery crust, scratch-made filling, and an added $4 up-charge for a gravy boat full of mushroom bourbon gravy. My wife went with a Roaster sandwich ($18) of pulled chicken, cheddar, BBQ sauce, pickled onion, on a baguette served with fries. We also had an order of Lemon Chili Zucchini ($9) for the table. The food was wonderful, as both the pot pie and the sandwich were devoured. My soup was a pretty big bowl for a "Small" but was loaded with more carrots and celery than chicken. I asked our server Leo if they had any hot sauce, and he asked me how hot did I want it? Ryebird has a few different types in increasing levels of hotness. I asked for the max, and he brought out a little ramekin of some of the hottest hot sauce I ever had. It was pretty much at my upper level of tolerance. I chatted about it with the restaurant manager on the way out, and he was pretty sure it was made with Ghost Peppers, so that explained my thermonuclear mouth numbing reaction. Anyway, we loved our visit to Ryebird. Their food is reasonably priced, portions are generous, the quality is high, and the service is exceptional. What more do you want in a Fairfield County lunch?

The menu is some what tied into the Puglia region, which is the heel of the boot. I could tell the italian dialect from the owner when he was speaking to one of the staff, it immediately gave me a good feeling that this restaurant would be really good. The appetizers we had were all really good, we had the fried calamari, the grilled Octopusss, the fried zucchini flowers and thd hummus special. Sorry no pics of these. We had a couple of the Orrechiette Barese, Chicken parmigiana, a pasta special of fettuccine with shrimp in a cream and pesto sauce, another pasta with cavatelli, shrimp and cream and pesto sauce, really couldn't see the pesto, probably could have used a little more or maybe a little finishing with the pesto on top. Nice vibes, music pumping, drinks flowing...Chris our server was PHENOMENAL! She was a huge part of our magical experience. I started off with the buffalo cauliflower. I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. We took the idea of hubby's Branzino sauce and added more veggies to the Kettle cooked Zoodle dish. It was so yummy! Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Faux-ito: I got two, the first was the classic, the second was a mix of strawberry and pineapple. Both delicious mocktails! The Forbidden Pear: hubby got this one. very balanced, not sticky sweet.
