I've been a loyal Baskin-Robbins customer for years, especially for my children's birthday cakes, but I had a very disappointing experience at the Ynez Road location in Temecula. I placed an order for a large two-flavor birthday cake, paid in full, including an extra charge and even applied my reward from the app. Just 1 day before the birthday, I received a call from a staff member asking for an additional $8 if I wanted to keep the two flavors. I explained I had already paid, but instead of honoring the original agreement, they told me I could either pay more or get a refund. I asked to speak to a manager, but the employee was rude, dismissive, and refused to escalate the issue. They processed a refund for the cake price only, but refused to return my reward they used on the order and told me I had to go through the website to request it myself, despite the mistake being entirely on their end. In contrast, the Baskin-Robbins store in Murrieta is exceptional, clean, professional, and clearly upholding the brand's values. If you're a true Baskin-Robbins fan, skip the Temecula location and head to Murrieta instead. You'll immediately see the difference in service, integrity, and atmosphere. It's unfortunate and frankly shameful that the brand entrusts a franchisee like the one in Temecula, who clearly lacks basic customer service standards and business ethics. read more

Well, shiver me timbers! I didn't realize that they were no longer located by Spuntino's where Baron's is located on Rancho California Rd. I had to call to see where they were. I totally felt stupid, old timers disease has taken root! Anyhow, this review is primarily about my experience with ordering my grandson's Minecraft ice cream cake. Initially I placed the order for pick up on Saturday, 10 September. But due to fires & having to evacuate the party was understandably rescheduled to the 17th. I called in advance to arrange the new date and they were very kind & understanding. I walked into the store and was amazed at the extensive menu. They not only do ice cream anymore! I wish I could've sampled some of the food items but I had other pick ups for the party. The place was clean and organized. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd love to return to bring family and friends and try out their non-ice cream offerings. The cake was a chocolate base with strawberry ice cream and decorated as requested. We have been here twice in the past 6 months. Both times we were met by amicable employees. This second time we brought a toddler to have an ice cream cone. The amazement on her face was priceless. Of course there were too many ice creams to choose from. The clerk gave her a sample of the chocolate chip and it was a done deal. We sat inside and used a clean provided booster seat for the wee one. Although it was on a cone she was provided with a small spoon, as she was reluctant to eat it straight from the cone itself. After methodically chipping away at the ice cram we showed her how she could eat the cone itself, which she found to also be joyful. As we left the little one bid goodbye to the clerk. Yeah, I know, the above is not important to rating this place. But, I just wanted to share a feel good story with anyone who actually reads these reviews of a Baskin Robbins. I did, however notice that the manager, an older lady, was kind of hovering over the young girl who scooped my ice cream for me. In my opinion, this is unprofessional, especially since the manager was on a break or doing some work at a table and came over to tell the young woman to remember to offer me toppings for my ice cream. Clearly, this made the young girl nervous. The other young girl at the register seemed rather nervous as well. With 10 years of restaurant/food service experience, I can tell you that this is not a good way to promote a relaxed atmosphere with your staff. Scoop was kind of small, but the price was OK. She wasn't unpleasant, I just couldn't hear her. Another worker came out from the back to scold her about something she hadn't done, while she was waiting on me. Customer service is awful. Quality of the cakes are awful. Bill the "manager", which I presumed is the owner has poor customer service. The employees are told not to give out his name. The store manager does not want customers to seek him out to resolve issues, what irony. We purchased a birthday cake and it was bitter. There were mostly cake and a slither of ice cream. The cake fell apart when we got home. The cake decorator is probably an amateur. I probably should have gotten a test cake before ordering my son's birthday cake here. I wasn't happy with the quality and presentation of the cake. A boy's birthday shouldn't have a pink airplane. Bill was more interested in getting $27 from me than having a repeat customer. I have never written a review before and I feel a little anxious doing this but I'd like to preface this review by saying that I have ordered before from this location for birthday cakes and was very pleased the first time and I thought I was pleased the second time. The second time I had placed an order for birthday cake with a photo top. It's an upcharge service. I received a phone call the day before that party from a flustered manager(owner I think) that their machine was down and they couldn't do the photo top but if I could pick an alternative top they could make the cake. It was last minute and I was gracious that they didn't just cancel my order because they couldn't fill it. The cake was delicious but to be honest it looked nothing like what my kids wanted and very plain. Again, it was the best that could be done given the circumstances and the manager really tried to work with me to give me something and I appreciated that. In my haste to just finalize the details to move onto the rest of the other party things I needed to get done I never inquired about a refund for that upcharge service. Well, now that brings me to today. I tried to place an order for another birthday cake and it automatically up charged me for some special mario and luigi cars. Well, I processed my online order and called in asking if it was possible since I never followed up on my partial refund from just two months ago if I could at least get this up charge waived. Yeah, no. The owner said she doesn't remember and they would have FOR SURE followed up on that and sent me something, like some coupons or vouchers for some ice cream or something. I told her very kindly that, no I had never received anything and I thought that it would be somewhat easy to do but she was VERY firm that they would have never left this issue unresolved. I asked if I provided a receipt from that prior order would that suffice and she said that she's sure I placed an order but that she's POSITIVE that she didn't leave it unresolved. People make mistakes all of the time. How is it possible that they NEVER make a mistake? Either way, I asked if I had remembered to bring it up at the time would I have gotten my partial refund and she responded that I would have gotten something like a voucher or coupon so I just decided to cancel my order then and there for this party. It left me very unsettled and I won't be returning. I have 7 kids. This would have been my 3rd cake since moving here. I would have definitely been a very very good customer. read more
