I called before we drove here as it's a 20 minute trip and didn't want to waste my time after a disappointing visit to the Murrieta location. The girl that answered the phone was sweet and assured me twice they did have the summer flavors. When we got their, there were 4 teen employees huddled together behind the counter. This location is super tiny with only a couple tables to sit at and looks in serious need of some upgrades. Service was quick and friendly enough although when we first walked in, they all stared at us silently like deers in headlight without a greeting. We ordered 6 blizzards and they hopped to it real quick. Only issues would be besides that was that 1) The blizzards were overfilled and messily covered so it was dripping all down the sides and into the holder and out the holes and 2) They didn't turn the blizzards upside down like we were used to at other locations. So we just took a trip to this location as we always love us some DQ. Ordered our treats and while this was happening a young man came from the back and asked the manager at the front if he had to wear a hat for now. We look up and his hair is so wet it is dripping water and his shirt was soaked (don't know if it was even water). Almost like he put his head under the faucet or came out of the shower. It was soaking and dripping all over!!! And we asked the front clerk/manager if he should be making the stuff and he said yeah it's fine (which we were shocked by) It was honestly really gross and un sanitary. But there was clearly a "what time is my shift over" vibe about the place. This is not a "hot eats- cool treats"DQ- the only not dessert food they offer is a hot dog. I don't intend to try the hotdog. There is limited seating inside. Not good for a large group. The desserts are solid. The same blizzard you know and love made exactly how you expect. We decided we needed a blizzard....so after hunting through the shopping center we found them. Note they are right next to Kahoots. Lots of parking no issues there. Once you enter you are greeted by a bright clean ice cream/hot dog shop. It is a smaller shop than normal. No burgers or onion rings here. Just dogs and ice cream, that's ok. I'll give a pretty generous 3 stars. The young people working here kind of proved to us that they don't super value their employment. The 3 star is mainly for the service I witnessed and received. When I ordered the cashier didn't really act like she knew what I was talking about. I also paid with cash and it slightly grossed me out that the same person who took my money didn't wash their hands or put on gloves when they were handling my ice cream cone. (Granted it does have a paper slip on it, but still?). Maybe I'm just an extreme germ-a-phobe. Another young woman openly had her or someone else's phone out and was doing who knows what. The place was meh, slightly dirty. I am kind of surprised they have stayed in business so far. My ice cream was good, I've never had a chocolate dipped cone, it was good! A little difficult to eat as the ice cream inside melts before the chocolate outside haha, but that's alright. My husband had the new orange cream dipped cone, he enjoyed his as well.
