The consensus was that some of the breakfast burritos were a little dry and needed some sauce or salsa but there was a chimichurri that was brought to those who needed some extra moisture in their burrito which was received in a positive way. Recommended by a friend of mine whom frequents Temecula wine country quite often, we were seated promptly on the outdoor patio. We started off with a salad (arugula mix with yellow beets). It was ok, but very expensive at 22.00 (I would not get it again if I came back). I ordered the vegetarian pizza and it looked amazing, but taste wise was very bland (even with parm and red pepper flakes). My friend ordered the short rib beef ragu and I had a couple of tastes and it was amazing. We had a soda each and the total bill came to 91 bucks before tip, ouch! We were contemplating dessert; however, I opted for it elsewhere as I did not want to be disappointed by the high prices. The food and service here were amazing! We got the Nepoletana pizza (added cheese) and the Linguine. Both were delicious, coming from someone who doesn't really like seafood. The staff were super friendly and sat us at a table inside. Our server went through their specials of the day and one of them was a salmon pasta that my dad ended up ordering. We made a quick trip to Temecula and after winetasting had dinner in Old Town. Started with Beery Italian cocktail and it was excellent. I highly recommend if you enjoy drinks that are slightly more on the sweet side. Had the Regina pizza with prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes were especially delicious. We sat outside next to the bar window where we enjoyed watching the bartender making fresh strawberry syrup from scratch. I asked him what he was making, and he was incredibly friendly taking the time to explain the process and how they use syrup in their cocktails. He definitely deserves a five star shout out for his friendliness and willingness to share. The meals were all prepared extremely well and everything tasted great. We were in Temecula celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and our waitress the night before at Gourmet Italia recommended Bottega Italia for breakfast... specifically mentioning the pistachio gelato made with oat milk because my wife is dairy free. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place but they're always packed and closed on Mondays. We finally got a chance to make a reservation on a rainy Thursday night. We were greeted by a nice young lady who sat us right away. The place was small and cozy, seemed over-staffed for a seemingly slow night. We ordered the chicken wings (nothing special), Arancini al Nero (rice balls stuffed with calamari in squid ink sauce) pretty good but better served warm; for entrees my husband got the Carbonara with pancetta (good, peppery and not too saucy) and I got the "meat of the day" for a market price of $43. Filet medallions (2 thin steaks) with sides of vegetables-potatoes, cauliflower, etc. the menu should've said "mixed vegetables with a side of filet. I have tried better tasting filets for a lesser price. Worse thing of all, it wasn't warm and when the server checked up on us I mentioned that it's not warm. She offered to warm it up. I ordered it medium rare so if she did, it will be medium??? Had she brought it up to her manager, I'm sure they would've done a better alternative. Chardonnay was alright, local from La Paz and you can't go wrong with Peroni. They offer $1 off drinks and appetizers during happy hour. Overall, I think this place is so-so. For the most part, the food, service, and ambience were fine. Last night, three of us tasted the spaghetti and meatballs special, and unfortunately, we all had the same reaction to the meatballs. They were very tough, not very flavorful, and honestly some of the least enjoyable meatballs I've had. I'm not sure what blend of meat is being used, and I understand that some restaurants add pork or sausage, but these did not have the texture or flavor you would expect from a good Italian meatball. I then noticed the same flavor coming from the Bolognese meat sauce. The small bits of meat have the same flavor not so noticeable because being small bits.
