I'm so so happy that I chose Karen to make my wedding cake! I have a gluten allergy and she is knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to gluten free baking. The cake was so beautiful & delicious, all my wedding guests we're raving about it! Karen is so sweet, welcoming and professional! I would recommend her to everyone for any occasion. She's definitely my go-to baker for any event I have in the future.

Cactus & succulent cupcakes!! The cactus on top had rice crispy treat on the inside, they were delicious!

I can't say enough sweet things about the sweet apron. Not only did she put an order together with only four days notice, but they were absolutely beautiful and delicious. They seriously were the centerpiece of the bridal shower and I got so many compliments on them!

    Our beautiful wedding cake.

Karen is amazing!! We had her do our wedding cake this summer. She is very prompt in getting back to you, and works with your budget. She answers any questions you might have, and prepares a tasting box for you to sample at your leisure. We loved how our wedding cake turned out and so did our guests. Thank you Karen! We recommend her to anybody getting married who is looking for an affordable price, kind service, and amazing looking (and tasting) cake!

My wedding cupcake tower Karen made for me. The cupcakes were a huge hit! The Lemon with Raspberry filling are my favorite!

Karen is a dream come true! She has been making my cakes and cupcakes for every event for years now. She also is really great at dessert tables/bars for events. They are absolutely heavenly! All of her treats are beautiful and taste amazing! The best part is, that she is so creative I don't ever worry about how they are going to turn out. She even made my wedding cake and it was perfect!

    Delicious!

Sweet Apron made our delicious cupcakes and our cutting cake. When we did the initial tasting, we knew immediately this was our choice for our wedding...so delicious. We had several guests mention that they were not typically being a fans of cake, but the cupcakes at our wedding were loved by all. Thank you so much for helping to make our celebration a great one.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Batter Up Bakery…read more I'm a wedding planner with over a decade of experience, and I have truly seen it all... but this was a first. Due to a major mistake on the venue's end, our couple's wedding cake was served to a different event the day before the wedding. Yes... the entire cake was gone. We were left without a cake for the bride and groom to cut on their wedding day, and with very little time to fix it. Enter Batter Up Bakery... and they absolutely saved the day. From the very first interaction, Samantha at the front counter was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. Selena, the decorator, did an unbelievable job recreating the cake exactly as originally designed. And Jim, the owner who handled delivery, was professional, communicative, and ensured everything arrived perfectly. They stepped in quickly and created a replacement cake that looked identical to what the couple originally ordered. Not only was it visually perfect, but it was also delicious. The entire process was seamless and handled with such care. The most incredible part? The bride had no idea anything had gone wrong until after the wedding. Everything felt flawless, and that is exactly what you hope for as a planner. In all my years in the industry, I have never experienced customer service like this. Batter Up turned what could have been a disaster into a perfect moment. I will be recommending them to every single one of my future couples. Truly phenomenal service, talent, and professionalism.

Goat & Vine (Satellite Café) - Morning Bun Review…read more Goat & Vine continues to expand its footprint beyond its flagship The Goat and Vine location, and this newer café concept clearly aims to deliver a more elevated, bespoke pastry experience. From a presentation standpoint, it succeeds. The space is large, visually polished, and immediately inviting--everything you'd expect from a brand building on a strong local reputation. The morning bun itself is visually stunning. Well-shaped, evenly baked, and glossy with promise--it looks like a 5 before the first bite. But execution tells a different story. A proper morning bun should channel the DNA of a croissant: light, airy, delicately layered, with just enough exterior resistance to give way under minimal pressure. This one missed that mark. The outer ring was noticeably tough--requiring more force than expected, even with a knife. In truth, a well-executed morning bun should yield easily with the edge of a fork, not demand effort to cut through. Flavor delivery was equally uneven. The cinnamon--presumably a core element--was very mild, almost hesitant. A morning bun doesn't need to be a cinnamon roll, but it should introduce that warmth immediately, within the first bite. Here, it lagged. More notably, the orange essence appeared only at the very center, creating a disconnect in the experience. Flavor should be intentional and consistent. If orange is part of the profile, it should be present throughout--not hidden as a surprise note at the core. The same applies to any premium pastry: flavors should announce themselves clearly and early, drawing you into the experience, not making you search for them. To their credit, the internal structure showed glimpses of what could be--a buttery, layered crumb that hinted at proper technique. But the balance between texture and flavor never fully came together. This is a case where strong presentation and solid fundamentals elevate expectations, but the final execution doesn't quite deliver on them. Final Rating: 3.5 / 5 A beautiful pastry with promising structure, but held back by toughness and inconsistent flavor distribution. With refinement--particularly in texture and flavor clarity--this could easily become a standout offering.

My husband and I went just a few days later and it did not disappoint. My husband said it was one of the best Americanos he has ever had, which says a lot. Price was $9.00. - Salted Brown Butter Vanilla Scone: 3/5 a bit too sweet for my liking but when I scraped away the layer of the glaze, the scone itself was quite delicious, soft, and had a good chew to it! They were super communicative before my tasting and were knowledgeable and helpful during it. The cake was both beautiful and delicious - moist, pillowy, and perfectly balanced. The frosting complimented the cake instead of overpowering it, and our guests loved it so much that there was hardly any left by the end of the night. If we hadn't requested to save the top, we wouldn't have had any to bring home. The extra desserts were just as incredible. The chocolate-covered strawberries were a huge hit for both their flavor and adorable design, and the cheesecake bites disappeared almost instantly. Everything was presented beautifully and it all went fast, which is always a good sign. The tasting process was also a highlight. They were kind and welcoming, and since we went in with a good idea of what we wanted (after reading their info ahead of time), it made the experience easy and enjoyable instead of overwhelming. One tip: book your tasting appointment as early as possible, because those slots fill up quickly. A couple of helpful notes for future couples: a cake stand isn't included, so be sure to add that to your list. And if you're working with them through an all-inclusive venue, you'll need to pay a little extra for the premium flavors - but trust us, they're worth every penny. We couldn't recommend Gruttadauria's more. Their cakes and desserts were an unforgettable part of our wedding, and our guests are still talking about them.
