Here are the issues 1) 8 bucks for Ice tea and a scone. That's more than Intellencia or Blue Bottle for God's Sake. 2) Flies! There are WAY TOO MANY Flies outside! Not one or 2, but dozens of them! And last night when I stopped by for my 8 $ snack, it also smelled like rotting garbage outside! Im sorry but the gentle breeze of rotting garbage smell and decay is disgusting. There is no excuse. Keep your trash covered! And besides, that will cut down on the fly population. $8 bucks for Good tea, a delicious scone and flies + rotting garbage smell means there is still a lot of room for improvement here. I went here for the first time today. I am impressed! I have driven past this place a bunch of times and never even noticed it. It is definitely a hidden gem. I used to work walking distance away. So I'd frequent this place at least once a week, and even during the pandemic I'd schedule other things so I can stop by for a bfast burrito special. The staff is always courteous. Even before road trips I'd pass by because we could get good coffee AND food, not just pastries. But I went back today after a year and the food has significantly changed. We got a grilled cheese and a rancho burger. The fries changed into these homemade chip looking things. The sandwich was not melted at all, separating easily from the bread and other cheeses. And the burger seemed like an after though. The patty was huge compared to the rest of it and not really seasoned. Idk. I used to really like the food and was looking forward to having lunch here today. The coffee was still good. A nice spot for Stumptown caffeine drinks and definitely has that campy vibe, Basecamp is solid classic American food at good value. Although the coffee quality is very good, the preparation needs a little more care. The temperature of the latte and pour over coffee was warm and detracted from its full potential. Longtime customer trying to come back and support the business post-pandemic, and was not pleased with the reception I got from your employee today. I arrived 40 minutes before stated closing hours (also seeing people still sitting outside) and was blocked from even entering and told they were closed. I politely tried to explain to her the hours on Yelp were different, and she had a weird major attitude with me and wouldn't even listen or look at me. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but it was pretty off-putting. It peeves me as a fellow business owner. I ordered the protein scramble and I had absolutely no sweet potatoes, no squash, and barely any almonds. What's up with that?! The portion size could have definitely been larger for $12, considering 3 of the ingredients were missing. It also came with some strange dressing that the menu doesn't state (ranch possibly?) which only goes well with the spinach. The tastiest thing was the quinoa patty which was full of flavor. Very rarely do I walk into a place and immediately fall in love...and stay in love throughout the entire time I'm there, and leave feeling like I've lost a piece of me because I'm rarely in Burbank. The bold flavors, the smooth taste...everything about Stumptown is good for me and of course it didn't fail this time either. Second, the barista was the sweetest guy. He explained his coffee to me, and when I only ordered a regular black coffee to go, he of course cracked his "like my heart" joke. Solid cute cafe in Burbank. Haven't been to this area since high school when I used to ice skate here. There's a small parking lot. The inside is not not planned out well because there's literally no place for a line to form without standing above other customers' tables. How awkward. On top of that, the ordering takes a while. Not sure why. You can order drinks as well as food from their neighboring High Horse dinette. They must be run by the same person. The drinks were good. My friend and I decided to check out this place for brunch around noon on a Saturday and while there were a lot of people there, there was a good amount of seating available. The food was pretty good! I got the Basecamp Omelette (no cheese) and liked it, but I loved the potatoes on the side so much more. For my drink I got an iced jasmine green tea and really liked it as well. My favorite part was the overall ambience, such a cozy and cute spot. First time at Basecamp. My friend brought me as it's walking distance from her place. We chose to eat in the patio as she had brought her son in a stroller. I ordered the avocado toast with coffee and my friend ordered a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. The patio had a cute, colorful decor with colored liights which kept our little guy occupied. The coffee was hot and delicious. It had a unique taste. I was surprised at the size of our meals. I've had avocado toast at many places and this one out did them all in terms of portion size. It looked like one huge piece of sourdough piled high with the mashed avocado, fried egg to order, tomato , sprouts and arugula. Once I started digging in I discovered a 2nd piece of toast covered with avocado as well. I couldn't touch the 2nd slice as the first was so filling. I thought the price was high, but I got two meals out of it, so it's very reasonable. My friend couldn't finish hers either. The only disappointment was that no one came around to check if I needed more coffee, even though the hostess told us I could get a free refill. I'd come here again and I know my friend does. Cute spot with easy to find parking. I have been here twice and neither loved it nor hated it. On the up side, the coffee was pretty good (oatmilk latte) and there is ample outdoor seating. The staff outside was very helpful. Angel was sweet and kind. The other young gentleman (did not catch his name), was also very helpful. We did not have to wait as long as some of the reviewers have commented; approximately 15 minutes. But, I would have gladly waited a bit longer if I were to have received more quality food.
