This cafe has become a family favorite! We live close by and have had brunch at Basecamp on numerous occasions! It does tend to get busy on the weekends but there's plenty of seating outdoors and pets are welcomed :)! The parking lot is small but there's plenty of parking on the residential side street. I love their breakfast quesadilla and their coffees. I've had their lattes and their cappuccinos and they're both made with a rich blend. The lox bagel and the French toast are also tasty but they're nothing too special. I suggest trying their egg based dishes for brunch! read more

Checked out basecamp after a morning trip to Travel Town. It has been on our list for a few months but was really disappointing. They were super crowded (I'm happy they're getting business!) but unfortunately that resulted in super long wait times. We probably waited close to 45 min after ordering? I didn't keep track but it felt like a long time for a salad and a wrap. The food itself was also disappointing - it looked and tasted like corporate cafeteria food. The cheese on my bbq chicken salad looked like it had come out of a freezer bag and the chicken itself reminded me of the pre-cooked grilled chicken you get from delis. The salad itself was very fresh and had grilled corn on it - plus! The photos and reviews looked awesome so maybe it was an off day for the team. Cute little cafe!! As an out-of-towner staying across the street, I came here to get a cappuccino and was pleasantly surprised by the ambience. My mundane morning was transformed into a delightful, (albeit too short) laid back, Californian start to the day. The meals arriving at the other tables looked wholesome and healthy. Ive been here twice for breakfast, twice for lunch & I'm giving this place 3 stars. While their breakfast has been good both times (Breakfast Sandwich & Jamison) the lunches have been god awful- note the staff is always nice & wonderful! Lunch 1- I got the veggie wrap, it was missing quinoa which they happily fixed but overall completely bland with no flavor with soggy lettuce. Lunch 2- Southwest Chicken bowl (pic included) on top was a completely dry chicken breast that had no flavor. Under the chicken was very thin layer of black beans, salsa (barely any green salsa) & a decent amount of avocado. Under that first thin layer ALL RICE. The rice was dry also no flavor at all. It was so bad I dumped it & opted for a croissant which sadly was stale & tasted like a cheap Costco white bread that was attempting to be a croissant. Definitely come for breakfast, get the Jamison- yummy eggs & French toast! But good lord avoid lunch. I really love the ambience in here, a tiny coffee shop that's charming and appealing. I love the simple decor and overall set up of furnitures and fixtures. There's a bar style seating, a long dining table in the middle, a bench on one side, and a couch in a corner. There's also several patio tables outside. This is one of the newest go-to spot to grab a bite or for a caffeine fix in Burbank. Lots of healthy options for food and drinks available as early as 7:00 am. I really love their coffee which is always fresh and artfully created. Also on the same property with same owner is the High Horse Dinette. Although I'd been in Basecamp a number of times, I've never been to High Horse. It's simply because same menu is offered to both Basecamp and High Horse Dinette. They courteously bring your order whichever restaurant you are seated. Bathrooms are clean and lots of inside and street parking. read more

Each time I swing by, I feel like I'm visiting family. Basecamp is the type of place where folks not only remember your name and favorite orders, but they also seem genuinely happy to see that you're doing well. It's a Burbank Rancho darling for a reason, with many loyal neighborhood and equestrian regulars. Try the dirty chai--preferably hot. It's a game changer. I've tried to order it elsewhere, but it just doesn't hit the same. For weekend brunch, it's a tug-of-war between that and the guava mimosa. For food, I rotate between the avocado toast, the breakfast burrito, and the quiche. Regrettably, my favorite item is no longer on the menu: the croissant French toast. Sometimes I order an extra guava mimosa to help me move on from that loss. With food, coffee, and perhaps a mimosa in hand, spend a lazy morning relaxing at one of the outdoor tables, watching horses cross the street from time to time. Another one of those places that had been sitting in my "Bookmarks" for far too long. I came here with my sister late on a Sunday morning to grab some breakfast. It's located in a cute residential area right by Warner Brothers Studios. Basecamp is one of those "order at the register and sit down with your number" type of places. After browsing the menu, I decided to go with the breakfast quesadilla and my sister went with the pancakes - along with cold brews for both of us. The gentleman at the register who helped us out was very friendly and made the experience just that much better. Our coffee was ready right away and was delicious! I believe they use Stumptown Coffee, and you can never go wrong with that. It didn't take long for our food to come out either. My quesadilla was delicious and well flavored, along with the salsa it came with. My only complaint would be the portion size. It was HUGE, and I could only finish half. I ordered an almond milk latte from Basecamp and a Palomino burger with sweet potato fries off High Horse Dinette's menu. We picked up our coffee drinks from the counter and the food was brought to our table in Basecamp. The almond milk latte ($4.50) was fine -- they use Trader Joe's almond milk ($4.50). The Palomino burger ($9.95) was pretty good. I liked the meat quality, and it was a decent size. However, the sesame bun wasn't my favorite and I was hoping for a thicker slice of bacon (I could barely taste it). The sweet potato fries were amazing -- I would highly recommend those. Basecamp delivered what I expected based on other Yelp reviews: a relaxing, cozy atmosphere and middle-of-the-road food. It's the kind of place I could spend an hour nibbling a gluten-free pumpkin doughnut and sipping a latte while catching up with a friend. There are lots of nice corners for conversations, indoor and outdoor seating, and even a couch area with a coffee table. The omelette I had was good and a good portion, but not particularly memorable. I'd return, and consider it a dependable standby for brunch. read more

Obviously reviews have been paid for here, food is bland, eggs look like they're from a buffet in those large trays over cooked to heck, the ranchera sauce that came with the burrito was watery like they took a good sauce and diluted it down to almost nothing. The chilaquiles green sauce was bitter, like it had harsh vinegar inside, I've eaten so many authentic Mexican meals, and the verde sauce is never like this......A burrito, chilaquiles and two coffees with tip totaled almost $50. My girlfriend and I are disabled and wanted to dine at Basecamp recently. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found the restaurant had no parking for us because they had tables and chairs set up in designated disabled parking spots. This is unacceptable. It is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and is illegal. How anyone could think this is acceptable is beyond me. My girlfriend emailed the restaurant about the issue and never heard back. This has all been very upsetting. I will be contacting Burbank PD, Code Enforcement, and the Justice Department about this matter. read more

I'm so glad to find this gem in Burbank! It's pretty unique in that the lunch area (High Horse Dinette) is separate from the Basecamp coffee bar/lounge, however their menu is the same. So you can eat/drink in the outdoor patio or at Basecamp. The cool part is their adjoining parking lot in front. So easy peasy! Such a great place to unwind and have a coffee break. The decor is quite cozy and inviting with the teal color and wooden accents. They also have a great view of the mountains. They have free-wifi so that's an added plus. I've had their veggie wrap with spinach, quinoa, avocado, and aioli which was healthy and satisfying. I haven't really tried other dishes since they are pretty limited with their vegetarian options. I definitely recommend coming here for their Half Price Happy Hour. A selection of coffees and teas are half off Monday-Friday from 4-6pm. My wife and I stopped by for breakfast on a Monday morning around 9am to find a lively little restaurant filled with locals. They have a nice selection of hot and cold items on the menu as well as a tempting display of breads and pastries under glass. We found two seats at one of the long skinny bar tables. Sitting might look to be tight at times but everyone seemed to find a spot this morning. I thought it took a little longer than it should have for our orders to arrive from the kitchen in the building next door but not frustratingly long. My wife ordered a quiche as recommended by the cashier (you order up front and then sit down with a number) and found it to be tasty but perhaps a bit too rich. My scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon were fine. The eggs were a little dry but I prefer them that way but the potatoes were spot on. read more

Basecamp and High Horse Dinette was quite the disappointment. It's a cute space in the equestrian district of Burbank and there's a ton of seating both indoors and primarily outdoors and I can see this being a great breakfast establishment for the locals in the area. They definitely look like they know what they're doing when it comes to caffeine and pastries. While I didn't get a coffee drink, I did try their cronut and it had good flavor albeit a tad too oily for my preference. However, as a dinette serving lunch, it was inedible. We all ordered the Palomino Burger, which looked interesting with the honey siracha and shoestring fries. Unfortunately what arrived was neither. The patty lacked seasoning and definitely lacked heat. In fact, it felt like the cook forgot to season the meat when they were frying the patty. The bun was incredibly oily on the outside yet wasn't really hot or even warm on the inside. It also felt like they forgot the honey siracha since the burger itself was incredibly dry. In fact, it was hard to eat. It's hard to make a burger flavorless and dry and this kitchen unfortunately excelled at it. The shoestring fries were just regular fries, unless their understanding of shoestring is different than mine and the fries were definitely under seasoned. In fact, that was the common theme with this experience. Everything lacked seasoning and everything lacked nuance. Also, for a place that looked like they offer unique beverages, their root beer was out of a can. Something that you can get at your local Ralphs for much cheaper than what they charged. Overall, I'm hoping that their reviews are based upon their breakfast instead of their lunch, otherwise I would be confused as to why people think the food here is good. read more

I've tried a variety of their stuff and I'm confident in giving them a 5 star rating. VEGGIE WRAP (5/5): I remember getting this after a long hike and it was food for the soul. I honestly didn't think I'd be so impressed by this veggie wrap, but it delivered even more than what the menu described. So savory, so delicious and it was big enough to save for later but too delicious to even think about that in the moment. I loved all the fresh veggies paired up with a good amount of hummus. RASPBERRY ICED LATTE (5/5): Delicious coffee with your choice of syrup. SAUSAGE QUESADILLA (5/5): So much yes. Generously stacked with heaping amounts of sausage, cheese and veggies...served with a side of sour cream, pico de gallo and hot sauce. Pretty filling, so I took the rest for lunch the next day. First the good, it's mostly outside, which in a pandemic is good! The food is okay, nothing special. The bad is it's pricey for mediocre food. The ugly is the last 3 times I was there my hash browns were cold and undercooked. I even mentioned it to them last time I was there, and they still came out cold and undercooked. I was in the midst of running errands in this area when I realized I needed some sort of caffeine/sugar kick. That's when Yelp came in handy remembering I had bookmarked this Hot New Business! Hot, new business indeed! There was something so calming about Basecamp. The staff did a great job in getting multiple orders in, and the barista was quick on his feet to whip up, quite honestly, the most decadent chai latte. It resembled an horchata latte; the cinnamon sweetness was very much alive in this drink. They also had a display of delicious treats. I opted for the sugar-free raisin carrot cake, as I realized I may have over done it with all this suggah! I was pleased to find that most pastries were made in house, just over at their sister store - High Horse. The atmosphere is definitely clean and feels quite productive. I love this cozy little neighborhood patio off the beaten path! I had been by it a couple of times and found myself in Burbank this morning super hangry after an appointment. There is a small lot but also plenty of residential parking so you'll have no problem. You order at the cashier first, get a number and pick your seat, which there were a plenty. They have a few tables but the perimeter of the patio is wooden counter and barstools so even if you're by yourself, you can get cozy outside and gaze towards the Equestrian center across the street for added charm. I ordered the Cinnamon Maple French Toast with coconut shavings on top which was delightful! The Staff is very sweet and friendly, and you'll see the free lemon water in the main counter with utensils for you to grab on your own. If I could give one suggestion, I'd recommend more copies of the menu out on a shelf before ordering because I had no idea what to get until it was my turn to order. I also noticed a confused family that arrived as I was leaving, who were rushing to order and apologizing as it was their first visit. It may help the line go faster. Friendly service, delicious food and nice atmosphere. So glad that we found this spot while driving around burbank/griffith park area. My husband was happy with his breakfast burrito while I'm quite satisfied with my pancake platter that has a stack of 3 cakes, 2 eggs (over easy instead of my request of over medium), chorizo and fresh fruits. I like how the cut fruits were grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple and strawberries-- they were surprisingly sweet. I had some of my husband's tots and they were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside kinda thing which I really like.
