A terrific find in the heart of Burbank, fighting for business along with so many other restaurants and pubs on this corridor. But Over/Under has a distinct advantage with its cozy, sports bar feel and friendly staff. The booths are comfortable, the booze selection is ample, and there are a whole bunch of TV's for watching games. Our server, Chelsea, was a very good egg; funny and very helpful with suggestions re the menu and various drinks. She checked on us repeatedly, and made sure we had all we needed. My wife ordered a Gummy Bear Shot that was tart and sweet and very enjoyable. On the food side, the menu is filled with the greatest hits of casual, sports bar foods, but all kicked up several notches and more interesting than the usual. My wife ordered the Truffle Burger, replete with onions and mushrooms and cheese. The trappings were all very tasty, and the burger itself was packed with flavor, and came cooked to a very proper medium rare. The side of lemon-pepper fries were hand cut and crispy, though the citrusy tang wasn't my thing. A tad less successful was my Pastrami Sandwich. The meat, listed as house-made, had good flavor but was tough. The kale slaw with it also had good flavor, and the slight bitterness was a nice foil for the rich pastrami. Onion rings were excellent, and (regardless of the lemon-pepper) the better bet as a side. All in all, this is a great, comfy place with a good menu and a really welcoming staff. The service, the vibe, the FOOD!! All amazing every single time!!! Once I'm in here I realize how much I missed being here from the last time I was here. We stopped by for happy hour today and the Chardonnay was on point. The bbq chicken pizza, the club sandwich (ask for sauce on side if ur not a spicy eater like me), bbq chicken tacos and we asked for side of their sweet potato fries and ranch cuz those r must haves each visit. Came here for dinner with a friend and the vibes were on point super chill atmosphere without being boring. We tried the lychee martinis (my first time ever having one) and WOW... they were so good and dangerously easy to drink. For food, I got the buffalo chicken sandwich with lemon pepper fries and both were absolutely bussin crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying. Made reservations via OpenTable for a Saturday at 4:45. When we arrived, there was no host stand or anything. There was just a sign to seat yourself, so I'm not sure how I would have been able to check in (goodbye, OpenTable points), but there were several tables available, so no worries there. This spot is more of a shotgun home layout as it's longer than wide, but also bigger than it may appear. There's a nice patio outside, a very small bar and then the rest of the place laid out well inside. There's food is photogenic, so great for social media, but more than that it's flavorful and filling; I've yet to order something I haven't enjoyed. My only knock is that many times it's just me and I don't really feel comfy taking up an entire table and the bar is small, so I don't often stop by unless have 2+. read more

I went to this location for dinner since it was not too busy compare to the other places. They don't paper/ physical menus. It is QR menu which is fine no problem. I agree with other reviewers, service is slow in this location. It takes a while for somebody to come to take orders too . Maybe they are understaffed. Not sure what's the reason for delay. We had to wait for almost 20 minutes or more for two orders. We ordered a chicken Nachos and pizza. It Nachos were okay nothing special. They were like any other nachos. I visited Over Under Public House when I was visiting a friend who was staying in Burbank and while the food wasn't bad, it wasn't worth traveling far for. I had the steak, which was cooked decently but lacked the seasoning and tenderness. The burger was okay as well but I've definitely had better elsewhere. If you live in the area, it's a solid option, but if you're looking for top-tier steak or burger, you might want to look elsewhere. We were on our way to another restaurant across the street, but it was now closed for business. So glad we ended up at Over Under, they have a great menu variety. The menu is accessible through a QR code and at first we thought they only have "Shareable" items to choose from, but you need to tap the down arrow to expand and see all the food heading options. (It's hard to notice, in my defense LOL) After figuring the menu out, I noticed there was a Happy Hour menu (2p-6p) which had a nice selection of food and beer options to choose from with decent prices IMO. The food was so delicious, (mad I forgot to take pictures) the chicken had great seasoning. Service was good, no long wait to order and food came timely. Burger and fries review! Smash burger 7/10 -the bun has good density but comes through as dry and brings the experience down. The beef patty doesn't conform to a traditional smash patty but more on the slider size. There is a beef flavor present but is overpowered by the amount of ketchup present. The cheese may as well have not been there as it only provided a small amount of texture but no flavor. I would compare this to a regular homemade burger and not worth the $15 price tag. Fries 9.5/10 -fantastic flavor and the dipping sauce had me eating on double time. The only complaint is the size of the fries are quite small kinda like what you find at the bottom of the fry container. Good crisp, Cajun seasoning is tasty, and the potato factor comes through strong. I'd come here for the fries alone. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall I'd come back but I'll probably look to other menu items outside the burgers. read more

Been here a few times now and honestly, it always hits. The food is super tasty and consistent, and on my last visit I finally discovered their happy hour deals! I made it in right before happy hour ended and still got to snag some of the specials. The $6 Maui-style onion rings were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of breading. The $10 Old Fashioned Burger is exactly what you want in a classic burger -- simple, juicy, and satisfying. Lastly, we couldn't leave without dessert... the 24K Carrot Cake was insanely moist, beautifully plated, and topped with whipped cream and caramel. So good! Service was just as great as the food. Our server (a super sweet blonde woman, wish I had caught her name) was on it the whole time -- friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of, even while sitting outside. This was a great choice! I needed to book a private room for about 20 people at the last minute, and luckily their room was available. The setup process was quick and easy. The room itself was nice and very relaxed, with a few TVs--which was a great bonus since the games were on. Our server, Lidia, was fantastic. She offered helpful suggestions and was attentive, friendly, and quick. The food was much better than any of us expected. We ordered wings, sliders, tacos, and quesadillas, and everything was a hit. I came here with a large group on a Friday evening, and they seated us outside on the patio. The menu is very gastropubby, so good luck finding anything healthy on there besides the salads LOL. Things I tried: Brussel Sprouts (3/5): I honestly LOVE me a good brussel sprout app usually, but this one missed the mark. It was coated in a sort of spicy type of sauce, but it wasn't very flavorful at all. Usually the outside leaves are baked til crispy too for that extra texture, but this wasn't it. It came in a large serving though, so definitely for sharing. Fried Cauliflower (5/5): These were the BOMB. I love the sauce that came with. The cauliflower on their own tasted delicious too. The outside skin was thin almost like tempura, and it didn't feel all that heavy. Would recommend ordering this! Denver Steak (4/5): The steak was cooked very well! Weirdly enough, the leftovers tasted even better the next day, not sure why LOL. I got it medium rare, and it was exactly that. This dish came with salad and fries. The fries weren't very flavorful, but the spicy dipping sauce / ranch sauce that came with made it good. We dined here with a reservation at 5pm on Sunday, December 8th with a party of three. We like it here, and sat inside with plenty of tv's to watch the Sunday night game, while chatting with our friend. The food was also great. I had the Spicy Bad Boy, with an upgrade to the lemon pepper fries. The sandwich and fries were awesome. Our server was very nice too; however, unfortunately the three stars is because of the incredibly slow service. There were not enough servers in the restaurant. Maybe one or two more would have been needed. The server never checked in with us for more than one hour after the initial check-in, which was right before the food came out. After more than 1 hour and 20 minutes, we had to ask for the check by flagging someone else down. This was a common complaint between a lot of tables, including the ones to our right and left. Other than the timing of the service, it was a good place. We would probably try it again in the future to see if these issues are fixed. read more

Burbank's Over Under is a superior alternative to nearby chains like Yard House or Barney's. We've come for lunch twice, once on a weekday and once at the height of weekend brunch time, and they're always busy, but not packed. Our reservations for Sunday brunch weren't necessary. The service is friendly and efficient. The décor is reminiscent of the old Umami Valli in Studio City - grand, modern-gothic vibes with questionable sports-related accents. (My baseball-loving boyfriend took umbrage with a manipulated photo of Babe Ruth wearing a Dodgers uniform.) The items we've ordered have been great. We tried two sandwiches, the Spicy Bad Boy, a fiery grilled chicken sub, and the Cheeseburger Club - just a bacon cheeseburger on sourdough, but with the perfect toppings and a flavour that pleasantly reminded me of a county fair treat. The fries were crispy, served with a hot Thousand Island-type dip. For brunch, my boyfriend ordered the Hangover Steak Benedict - short rib on toast with spicy hollandaise, served with breakfast potatoes and a nice mixed greens salad with balsamic dressing and goat cheese. We also did bottomless mimosas, which were replenished quickly. You can choose a different flavour for each round. Our only grumble was for the digital menus. Really cool place! I went because they have a DJ there on the weekends (not sure about the other days) and it was so poppin for a restaurant. Got some pizza and it was soooo delicious! My friend and I almost ate the whole thing! (2 ladies okay, we weren't trying to be stuffed in our cute fits). Gotta love a place where you can eat, drink and dance. This is located on a cute little strip where you can walk around to other little shops and places. The parking convenience is a highlight for me. There's a parking garage literally around the corner of Over Under. And it's free, if I remember correctly. There's drinks were a bit pricey but hey, it's SoCal, I expect no less. I kept having to flag down my waitress to order drinks and my pizza and she wasn't the greatest at checking on her tables and the place isn't that big. That was the only bad part. On the other hand, I'm not a pizza girl but I tried the pizza and I fell in love with the crust since I couldn't eat the pepperoni. The service is good everyone is amicable and the order was correct, which makes me always come back! Overall, I like it here love the location in downtown Burbank, and the vibe is fun.
