    12oz Prime Rib Au Jus

My coworkers and I had dinner at Bartlett's, which is located in the West Anderson Plaza. The plaza is large and parking was not an issue. Nice spacious waiting area outside. The interior was classical steakhouse and the waitstaff was dressed in a white dress shirt and dark slacks. Dark mood lighting with mostly booth seats and a full bar. Two separate multi-user men and women restrooms. The service was outstanding! We were promptly welcomed and seated by the hostess. Claire E. was our server and took great care in serving us. She was pleasant, friendly, and very accommodating! She recommended some of the specials for the evening. She had a great personality. Again, outstanding and the others helping were were great (5/5). Steak Tartare: 5 oz of hand chopped raw ribeye and strip steak, tossed with red onions and capers, dressed with lemon, egg yolk, and herbs. Served with toast points, fresh arugula, and spicy sambal on the side (5/5). This was chef's kiss outstanding. Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Salsa and Tortilla Chips: Reggiano, artichoke hearts, tortilla chips (4/5). 12oz Prime Rib Au Jus: Rosemary salt crust, served au jus. We recommend Mashed Potatoes for your side (4/5). A great cut of prime rib. It was flavorful and delicious. Bartlett's Pear Martini: St. Germain, Grey Goose Poire vodka, Candied pear (5/5). Wow, this was very tasty and sweet. The Candied pear was fire! Come check them out! Support your local business.

Wao! This is my new favorite restaurant in Austin. Not only the food was amazing but the service was out of this world as well. Is it a bit overprice, specially, for the sandwich? Yes, but honestly the quality justifies every penny. They are not kidding when they say that this is the best French dip in Austin and it is big one. The artichoke dip is to die for, I don't event normally like that kind of dip and I could not stop eating. The steak was on point, when you hear what they use to marinate it you wonder if it would go well together, but trust me, it does. Last but not least, the apple crumble was very good, I would probably try another dessert next time but this was fun for our celebration.

The nice glass of wine that sadly, was not on free refills ;)

If you know, you know. ;) Bartlett's has always been one of my favorite places to dine in Austin- the food is top notch and the service is perfect. I took myself to lunch the other day. I ordered "one" artichoke. Yum! I also went for the French Dip Sandwich. It's one of the best I've ever had! :) *I did the only responsible thing to do when I was up north...and that's go to lunch at Bartlett's. I got one artichoke and the Asian Noodle salad with steak! Yum!

Growing up in California going to Houston's, Hillstone and Gulf Stream - exact replica. Such a sense of home, Todd our server was fantastic and don't skip out on the candied pear martini, steak tartare or the ribs it will forever Be the best! Exactly like home with the dim lighting and open kitchen concept! Will be back

I've been here a few times over the years. My friends like to come here. It hasn't really been a place for me as a vegetarian, but that's changed! We came here for a birthday specifically for the 100 Hour Marinated ribeye for my friend. She had been talking about it for weeks. Unfortunately, the night we came to celebrate, it was not available. She was crushed. I jokingly said "we can go somewhere else". I'm guessing the server thought I was serious because later the chef came to our table and offered her a special treat. It was very nice of them. She ended up with the Redfish special and she liked it. But it was a huge disappointment anticipating this dinner for weeks. My dinner on the other hand exceeded expectations. I had not been here for many years. I don't recall the House-made veggie burger being on the menu previously. I tried it. It was excellent. Brown rice, mushrooms, beets, jack cheese, and other goodies. The avocado basil slather was perfection. It's not easy to find a really good veggie burger these days. So many places try to make them taste like meat. This was a true old school Veggie Burger - such a treat. Our server was attentive and was really great. Drinks were good. Margarita was very tasty.

We used to come here back in the 90's when it was Houston's and I was in college. Had so many great memories here and were delighted to know that the place was still here! We came to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. Drove in from New Braunfels. We actually celebrated our engagement there in '97. Anyways, the place did not disappoint. Our server was Jordan who was most precious!! We started out with the Manhattan and an old fashioned. Split their traditional salad with buttermilk garlic dressing and their cheesy ciabatta. We shared their amazing 100 hour marinated ribeye cooked to medium rare perfection with mashed potatoes. Finished with the key lime pie. The restaurant is so warm and inviting. All the staff encountered were exceptional. We are visiting ATX in November and will be back!! Restrooms were beautiful and so clean too.

The inside is beautiful. Our servicer was awesome. I enjoyed my glass of wine. My dad love his Kansas City strip. My salad was good. The steak was cooked well, but it had a sweet glaze that I wasn't crazy about. Don't get me wrong I still finished it all! I would absolutely come again!

Bartlett's used to be Houston's, and from what I understand the franchisee bought the restaurant and renamed it after himself. Even now as it's been Bartlett's for many years, you can still feel some of that Houston's DNA in the atmosphere and menu. The vibe lands somewhere between upscale casual and classic steakhouse. It reminded me a bit of those old-school Steak and Ale-type places. It's a step above casual dining chains like Applebee's or TGI Fridays, but I wouldn't put it in the same category as Austin's highest-end spots like Uchi. It's more of a polished, comfortable place that still feels approachable. The dining room has a warm, almost wine-cellar feel, with exposed brick and fairly low lighting. When we visited on a weeknight it was packed, so I highty recommend making a reservation. The crowd seemed to be a mix of business dinners, client meetings, and people celebrating occasions. We were there for my mom's birthday, which felt like a perfect reason to go. It's the kind of place that works well for a special dinner, a date night, or entertaining clients. Everything we ordered was excellent. The Hickory Smoked Salmon appetizer was a great start, and the French Dip and the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich were worth getting again. They also brought out a dessert for my mom's birthday that everyone at the table enjoyed. Service was friendly and professional throughout the meal.

Barlett's continues to earn its spot on the "ATX's iconic" list for consistently providing first-class service and fare ... service is always impeccable, attentive but not overbearing. Water glasses stay full, advice about the menu on point, pace of the meal appropriate. A separate staff hustles food out of the kitchen, so it comes out piping hot (or cold as needed). Steaks and seafood ruled the table this visit, all cooked to perfection, astutely seasoned. Nice wine accompanied dinner, and dessert, key lime pie, was the perfect ending to a delightful meal. Highly recommend you stop by Bartlett's!

Bartlett's is one of those places that reminds you why it's a classic. From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The prime rib is the star for a reason--perfectly cooked, tender, and full of rich flavor. The smoked salmon is smooth and savory and makes a great start to the meal. The cocktails are well-crafted and balanced, perfect for sipping and unwinding. Do not miss the grilled artichokes--they're smoky, flavorful, and addictive. And the salads are impressively sized, fresh, and generous enough to share. With excellent food, thoughtful service, and a comfortable, upscale atmosphere, Bartlett's continues to be a go-to spot that never disappoints. Brilliant Dining

    Ask the Community - Bartlett's

    Is there a happy hour?

I'd give them a call. Great staff!

Is there a happy hour menu? Nothing is listed on their website or social media.

No, Bartlett's does not and has never had a happy hour menu for food or drinks.

What hours are considered lunch at Bartlett's?

I lunch menu runs to at least 3PM.

I called to order a salad ($16.00) and spinach dip ($12.00) and was told the total was $40.00 due to take out fees (I was picking up)That is a lot, especially during a pandemic and that is before tip! Not sure why there is such a fee?

I've never ordered carry out from Barlett's. That said, $12.00 "take out fee" is outrageous, especially since you're picking up! I would order from someplace else.

Do you have a dress code?

No I mean I've seen guys with shorts Usually not tank tops and gym apparel. Most of the customers are dressed fairly nice

    When is happy hour?

    4 -7 weekdays $2 off wine/beer

My beautiful girlfriend, traveling home from Vancouver, had a morning layover in Austin just recently on a weekday, and I got us a reservation to Paperboy East. Compared to the weekends, their schedule was a lot more open. On the weekends it can be nearly impossible to get a spot unless it's a few weeks in advance. We had a reservation at 8 am right when they opened, and when we walked in, we were seated immediately. The place looks like a modern twist on the old-school diners your grandparents love. There's also an upstairs and downstairs patio. Plenty of space! We were sat at one of the two-person tables. To start, I ordered their house drip coffee while my girlfriend got their "Lil Remi," an iced cappuccino with salted caramel. The black coffee was excellent and flavorful, while my girlfriend thought her Lil Remi was like a milkier shaken espresso that she really liked. From their starters, we ordered their Blueberry Lemon Pop Tart to share. I am a sucker for a homemade Pop Tart, and the jam on the inside was extremely fresh, and the icing and crust of the Pop Tart itself was sturdy and full of flavor. For our entrees, I ordered their Texas Hash with added avocado while my girlfriend ordered their famous Paperboy Pancake with chocolate chips as a full breakfast with bacon and two over-hard eggs. It wasn't a long wait at all to get our food. The Texas hash looked great and was presented quite nicely, which is a shame because I immediately proceeded to mash it all together to make sure every bite had a perfect balance of the roasted pork, sweet potatoes, egg, and avocado. It was very filling and substantial, which is great because I needed it to last me up to dinner. The pancake is the star of the show and is worth the order alone. The flying saucer they serve rises like a cake in the oven and is extremely fluffy. She was surprised with how it was a traditional pancake but loved how moist it was for its size. A perfect pancake to her. A perfect pancake to me because she couldn't finish it, so I took it to go and ate the last few bites immediately after dropping her off at the airport. For being an upscale diner in the prime area of Austin, I knew Paperboy was going to be pricey, but I honestly thought that it would crack $100 before tip between the two of us. I was very happy to see it was not even close to that and cost us about $80 with tip. To me, that felt fair for Austin, and I would pay that price any day of the week for a breakfast like we had. I've had a few of the locally owned brunch and breakfast spots in Austin and concur with the masses that this sits strongly at the top of the list. Best pancakes, best atmosphere, and the best times. The red wine paired perfectly with our meal, and the staff graciously allowed us to bring a birthday cake, which made the celebration even more memorable. Between the exceptional food, beautiful atmosphere, great drinks, and attentive service, it was the perfect birthday celebration. I highly recommend Roaring Fork for a special occasion or a relaxing Sunday meal with family and friends.

I came to Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar for a casual dinner with family and received so much more…read more No reservation and there was plenty of seating. We were able to change tables to accommodate more privacy. Casey was our server and so helpful. One of my family has dietary restrictions and Casey let us know the kitchen could rework almost anything to accommodate us. She also helped us get an order in before the happy hour ended. The artichoke dip well presented and good but not memorable. The old fashioned and margarita are excellent. For the main event I had the smoked pork chop. There is not a part of the dish I don't think was perfect. The chop, sauce, broccoli and slaw combined perfectly. I would say come back for this alone, but the tavern burger and chicken sandwich were great as well. The fries are crunchy on the outside and flaky inside. Grilled vegetables are an excellent side. You shouldn't leave without an order of the whiskey cake. "I only want a bite," doesn't exist. If you aren't very hungry start with dessert and add the main dish to go. Whiskey Cake has an exhaustive whiskey list and Wednesday has $7 pours which makes tasting easy. I hear brunch is excellent; I can't wait to try it.

It was one of those meals that felt like old times - great conversation, lots of laughs, and incredible food. I ordered the Farmers Breakfast, and everything was delicious, but I especially took a huge liking to the jalapeño Gouda biscuits. They were absolutely fantastic! My friend ordered the Peach Cobbler French Toast, which looked amazing and was just as delicious. The food, atmosphere, service, and time spent catching up made for a truly memorable brunch. We had an amazing time, and Whiskey Cake was the perfect place to enjoy it.
