This is a decades-old family business and they have enormous integrity -- I wish every business we dealt with was this way. If I could give this business a 10, I would. They are one of the highest rated movers on Consumer Checkbook so I gave them -- and others -- a call. Just beginning with their response to me, it seemed clear that they are a quality company to work with -- and they were much, much better than the others, as I say, from the beginning. I said I was thinking of moving abroad and when Louis, the owner, came to my house the next day, he was fully prepared and brought me essential information that I never expected from them. They don't do moves abroad, but he spoke to his international partner so he could explain to me the entire process. He gave me the name of their international partner and also called them so they'd be ready for my call. He also passed on to me an organizer who could help. (Moving Forward, which was exceptional and I'm reviewing it as well.) The result of all this was that I ended up deciding to fully go the international path, which will cover me even if I decide to stay in the U.S.. I told Louis he talked himself out of a job! Bargain Movers broke my antique bookcase during my move on 17 Oct 2024. The move was only 25 minutes away. The bookcase was cracked in several locations, the crown molding was broken off on the left side, and the crown molding was completely missing on the right side. It looked as though they had dropped this antique. The supervisor on site acknowledged the damage before the movers left from the move. Insurance was included in the move cost and I even purchased the upgraded "additional" insurance through Bargain Movers to cover the more expensive items ($514.50). I described this item as an "Antique Bookcase" on the list that Bargain Movers required I provide them before the move. Initially, the owner Mr. Luis Cardenas, Jr., agreed to repair the bookcase, however he sent a general repair man and not an antique specialist. The repair man said he would start with replacing the missing crown molding. I was concerned when he thought he could pick up a replacement trim piece from Home Depot. When he returned to the house, he had (2) pieces of strip pine glued together and was preparing to attach this as the repair of hardwood detailed molding! I informed him this was an antique obviously and did not agree to his absurd method of repair. Once Mr Cardenas was notified of this, he then informed me that he would not honor the repair unless I obtained an appraisal. This is ridiculous since Bargain Movers had the obligation to inform me of these terms before they moved me. An antique appraisal now would cost me over $500! All I am asking is that Bargain Movers "properly" repair this antique bookcase that they acknowledge breaking during my move. I purchased the "additional" insurance on top of the "standard" insurance, and therefore believe I am at least entitled to this service. read more

The crew of four led by Martin was meticulous about wrapping our furniture and other big-ticket items and made sure they did not bang into the walls and doors of the new place. They arrived at 8am and were finished by 2pm. Even when we invited them to sit down in the kitchen to eat lunch, they politely declined, electing to take their food to the truck and grab bites while continuing to work. And even though Luis had quoted us a certain amount based on an eight-hour workday, the final invoice was about $200 smaller because they had finished so quickly. These guys are terrific! Fast, careful, experienced and flexible. We ended up postponing our move twice - once because of a repair that had to be done in the new house, and once again due to weather (hazards of a winter move). They didn't charge us to reschedule, and were friendly and understanding above and beyond what we expected (they even recommended a repair guy for the house fix!) The day before the move, Martina in the front office called to check in on us, confirm the arrival time, and ask if we needed an extra boxes or had any items that needed special packing (lamps, TVs, etc). She also explained their policy that they wouldn't take things on the truck that weren't properly packaged, but that the movers would help with packing and packaging as needed. Day of, the movers showed up at exactly 8am and got right to work. Martín and his team were extremely friendly and efficient, and worked well together getting things to the truck. They disassembled & reassembled our bed, helped pack up our whiteboards & corkboards, and were careful and thorough going through the house and making sure things reached the right place. Our 15-mile move to a 3-bedroom house was done in just over five hours. We were amazed. All of this for really any extraordinarily reasonable price. I must have moved at least a dozen times in my life, and have had movers do all the moving for at least half a dozen of those moves. I've never had movers as AWESOME as Bargain Movers, who I found by searching on Yelp for the moving company with the most number of GREAT reviews. And I chose wisely. Starting with their management office, you are enthusiastically greeted by Martina, who does the initial phone interview; moving on their owner Luis, who personally calls you to discuss your move and to schedule a home inspection, so that an accurate estimate can be provided; going all the way to the movers themselves, all I can say is that Bargain Movers is a top notch company! The movers themselves were very friendly, extremely careful with our possessions and super fast! They hustled so much, that the entire move was completed in a little over half the time than was originally estimated. Part of that reason was my family and I doing all the packing of the small stuff, such that all the movers had to do was to grab the boxes and put them on the truck. We have never seen movers hustle like these guys! And they were just as quick in unloading the truck and putting our possessions in the right place, even breaking them down and reinstalling some items. One thing that happened which I should note: when the movers came, they had to remove our front door from the hinges. When they put the door back on, the door wouldn't latch closed; i.e., it would push open. The movers tried to fix it, but they couldn't, with my family and I in disbelief, having just moved into the house where the door worked just fine before the move. Our concerns were quickly addressed by Luis, who hired a handy-man to come out and fix the problem. The handy-man came and within minutes was able to fix the door, ensuring it latched completely when closed. What this says to us is this: Bargain Movers is a 5-star company, with 5-star staff who, of course, take their lead from their 5-star owner, Luis. Luis is a man of integrity and honor. His goal is to ensure a completely satisfied customer, which he did with pleasure. With an owner like Luis, the company is destined for success. The team of three that moved us from a house to a condo was one I would never use again. So proud of how fast they were...but so sloppy. Banged into walls and doors in the condo. Put items in the wrong rooms....even though every item was clearly marked as to destination. Very rough with the furniture. Small vacuum just dumped in the wrong room with pieces all apart and spreading the vacuum dust all over the living room. They needed to slow down and do things correctly rather than worry about their fastest team label. To be fair, the younger guy on the team was very conscientious, which was very much appreciated.
