Third time we have used Bargain movers, 2x for us and this last time for my mom. They were great. We had them pack out my mom's house too. They ran out of boxes (which was the only issue we had with the move) but did their best to work around the issue. They communicated throughout the day and were helpful and kind. No hidden fees, no extra charges (despite my mom having A LOT of stuff) and they kept great attitudes the whole day. They had to disassemble and reassemble her hospital bed to get it into the new condo and did so without hesitation upon arrival (without prior notice). I really appreciated the front office calling the day before to confirm (I didn't have to confirm, although it had been on my to do list that day!). I hope we don't have to move again any time soon, but I will always call these guys if and when we do. read more

I've done my share of moving over my lifetime and have seen good and not so good movers. So when it came time to find a company to help my wife and I move to our new retirement home outside of the DC Metro area, I scoured the net and spoke with friends and neighbors about their experiences. I had my eyes on another company but they could not fit me into their schedule but they offered several suggestions and one of them was Bargain Movers. I was a little suspicious at first because of the name but, hey... they were recommended by another highly recommended company... and when I got on the phone with Luis, I was impressed right from the start. I will tell you that Bargain Movers was not the least expensive option I had in front of me but give the transparency they had with their estimate process, I had confidence that what they quoted was going to be pretty darn close and it was. But what were we going to be in for when the team showed up? And here is where I was totally blown away. They were prompt, professional, careful but quick. The team of four showed up exactly when they said they would, took better care of our things that we would have and were careful with everything they touched, including our home. They drove straight to our new home and almost beat us there. Then the process was reversed and before we knew it, everything was off the truck and exactly where we wanted it. Not a wasted second. Three things stand out from my experience with Bargain Movers: 1. One of Bargain Movers' competitors recommended their services to me (their competitor wasn't available to move on the day I requested, which is why they made the recommendation). You know you're good at what you do when even your competitors are comfortable recommending you. 2. In keeping with their name, their hourly rate was about $70 less than the other moving companies from which I requested quotes. Moreover, they gave me suggestions on how to cut my moving costs even further, which put me at ease because I knew they weren't trying to run up the price on me. 3. Their movers were phenomenal. They were exceedingly polite, highly efficient, and delivered everything undamaged. I had them move a piece of exercise equipment down to my basement office, but after they had already left, l decided l wanted it in the garage. My dad and l had to partially disassemble it and take the door off to move it, yet Bargain's movers somehow got it through a tight space without disassembling it or making a single mark on the wall or the piece of equipment! I used bargain movers to move my super packed 1br into a spacious 2br. They came with a 26 foot moving truck and 3 guys. The key thing to mention here is how clean, organized, and neat the move was. The guys are efficient. Telling them what to do or how to do is a waste of time. Just let them do their job and when they showed up, that's exactly what I did. Some pointers though... pack all of your things beforehand. These guys will help you pack but it just eats up valuable moving time and they are on the clock, so the more prepared you are, the quicker the move will go. Take everything off of the furniture. They will shrink-wrap couches, pad tables, and pad chairs. Everything gets shrink-wrap so rain or shine, they can move you and it all stays clean. Go to Home Depot and purchase boxes, bubble wrap, and foam for packing dishes. As I stated before, the more prepared you are, the faster your move goes, and the less you spend on the actual movers. Company charges for travel time and by the hour. It's very reasonable, professional, and easy. Get the extra insurance offered just in case!!! read more

I had a good experience with Bargain movers, who moved me twice in the DC/MD/VA area. I say all this with the following caveat--I'm not picky about my belongings, and I don't have much stuff, so the cons weren't really as bad, in my opinion. But I can see how others might want to know this information. Pros: I was able to get a truck and movers on short notice. The move was fast, efficient, and the movers were professional. The movers showed up early and got to work but didn't start the clock until the scheduled time. Cons: I was told that I would have a third mover free of charge, but I had only two. My bookcase was broken in the move (but I didn't tell the movers that it would come apart in two pieces and the movers put it back together). Bargain Movers exceeded my expectations. I provided my info on line and by the next morning the owner called me to answer any of my questions (only company to respond back). My move date kept moving and the owner Luis kept following up to make sure he had a slot for me. My move took 12 1/2 hours because I had so much stuff. The movers kept a smile even though they would be returning home late. They only took a break when I asked them to eat lunch and dinner. They worked hard and usually would carry 3 boxes at 1 time to help speed up the process. I had 2 trucks, 2 movers and nothing was broken. I highly recommend. read more

I would definitely use Bargain Movers again. I was very careful about selecting a mover getting quotes from four companies. The quotes were all over the place. I chose Bargain Movers because Luis was extremely personable and took a lot of time to talk to me. Their hourly rate was reasonable, and his quote was reasonable. I didn't have a lot of stuff, so 3 people for 8 hours was the quote and it came in at 6.5 hours. The movers themselves were quick and efficient. They were in a hurry that's for sure. And maybe not happy that I had more stuff than they thought, which meant more work. But they were friendly and careful and the move was a great success. read more

Used them for a small local move. The moving industry has a bad reputation of scams, being difficult to work with, and operators that are looking to play games to charge more. We had an issue where a piano that was on the inventory was left off the move orders... I have to admit that I thought here we go... However, after calling Luis he took responsibility for the mistake and stepped up to make things good. He coordinated piano movers for the same day and made things right. I can say that Luis helps break the bad reputation movers have! Thank you! I am happy to say the move went well, including the piano. I recently used Bargain Movers for the first time, on the recommendation of a friend of mine. They were wonderful! They arrived right on time with 4 strong guys. Not only did they solve some logistical issues with getting a HUGE piece of furniture down one level and out of my house, they carefully moved all my furniture and boxes from a 3-story townhouse, to a third floor apartment - many stairs to climb with heavy loads. They were very careful with wrapping my furniture for protection and not leaving any marks on walls, etc. They were efficient, quick, and cleaned up the old place after they left. We used this company for a local move. They were very slow and after only 2 hours decided to take a 40 minute break without telling me. I called the office to be told that they just went to the local 7-11. They were not at that location nor anywhere in my neighborhood. The move was very local-less than 2 miles. They returned and had no explanation as to why they were gone so long. After the move, I noticed many of my belongings were missing. This is a very dishonest company and they are not a bargain either. So not only did I not save money, I was robbed as of many valuable belongings as well. Note to the owner: We did use your services-please do not ry to say you did not see our name in your records (your usual excuse for all the bad reviews)-The move was under my spouses name. Crew showed at 8am. The crew moved everything by noon and had all boxes & furniture in new home by mid afternoon. Then they helped me move boxes and furniture I already had in home. I found Bargain Movers on Yelp at the last minute as the company I had used for the last several years were unable to change my moving date at the last minute and boy am I ever thankful for that. I just bought a house so most likely won't be moving again anytime soon but Bargain Movers are the MOVE.
