Head's up: Yelp, Apple and Google say this place is open til 10PM but when you get there a sign at the hostess stand will tell you the "last seating" is at 9PM and that it "closes" at 9:30. Very weird vibe in here lately... It seems that at about 8PM the entire staff is in a frenzy to close up shop. I recently ordered a pasta dish at about 8:30 and it had clearly been reheated (microwave?) as the staff was too busy closing. I understand a lot of places are suffering post-pandemic, but that's not what is happening here: this is a tourist spot and if they aren't making the big summer weekend money then they are simply completely checked out on serving the locals. It's too bad since this used to be one of the few cool spots you could enjoy in Marin after 9 but I honestly wouldn't go there after 6:30 unless you want to feel like you're eating in the middle of a kitchen closing in a loud hurry. read more

I got delivery from here today and I am excited to say it was fantastic! The shaved artichoke salad is amazing. May be new as I would have eaten before now if I saw it on the menu. We both had the BBLA without the cheese. Delicious. I would to try with the burrata next time. My cousin can't have diary so that's why I didn't have it today. The kale salad that comes with it is crunchy and refreshing. I truly miss going there and being by the fire gazing at the water. Seems like another lifetime ago. Can't wait to go there again! Fingers crossed for the summer or fall! Everything was well packaged and they even included extra salad dressing which makes a huge difference. Yep I used it. We are saving the meatballs for later. What used to be a relaxing place to hang with friends and play bocce with a nice view is now unpleasant and disorganized, and without bocce- it's only for special events. I echo what everyone else said about the hostess and would add that they have prioritized the dinner crowd, and gone away from the walk-in bar food vibe that was once thriving. Mediocre food to begin with, yet this place has really gone downhill over the years. Came here on a nice Sunday afternoon and understood why the parking lot was empty- and we still couldnt sit at a table even with many available at 4:30. Plus they don't take American Express. This was a place we had been looking forward to going and unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. We went on a Sunday afternoon so it was no surprise there was a wait. We got a table inside because the outside wait was 1.5 hours. You do also have the option of taking food to go and sitting on the beach. We got our table inside & it took a while to get any service. As for our food, it took just as long. They didn't bring any of our food out at the same time, I was completely don with my meal before the other people at my table got theirs. In fact the pizza we ordered took so long & we got 3 "your pizzas about to be up" for us to need to request it to go because we had been there too long and had other plans to get to. They did end up comping the pizza which was nice. They had 2 single bathrooms and there was constantly a wait. Plus the one indoors was right by our table so everyone was awkwardly standing around waiting in line. The views outside were beautiful though! Bad customer service! Bad waiters! Bad food! Ordered eggplant Parmesan which was a different take on it and was wayyyy over fried and did not even have Parmesan on it. It was made differently and no one told us about it at the time of order and neither after complaining about it. They are acting as if this is how it should be. I am attaching a photo of what I got and you be the judge of it. If you ask them about Aperol, the say that they have it but they have a different version of it which tastes completely different from the original drink. Seems like they are trying too hard to sell whatever they can. Also want to mention that cleaning staff and helpers are good people abs I have no issues from their service. Great ambiance and nice views of the Sausalito Harbour. The patio it's covered with outdoor tables and they have also some tables on the sand with beach umbrellas so you have shadow. We ordered: - Mushroom pizza (I find that is more like a "pinsa" or flatbread with toppings, didn't have tomato sauce but was good and the dough tasted good) - Calamari a la plancha (small dish to share- I was not expecting to get them like this (with Cous Cous and tomato) but they were good and tasty) - Crispy artichokes (small dish to share- they were ok) - Brownie (delicious but I would categorize it more as a fudge for the texture, also compared to other brownies it was more sweet and not with a strong cocoa flavor, but really good) TIP: You have beach access so you can in advance order online (trough their own website) your food to pick up and then seat next to the Harbour. The staff was incredibly rude. It was empty on a rainy night, the place was empty. We had a party of 6, but they wouldn't let us move tables together to accommodate the group. So we squished around a table for two. They brought us 2 plates for the group of 6. They brought us 4 water glasses. The staff huddled in a group of 5 near the entrance not taking our order. The sourdough thin crust pizza is so good! The pizza is wood fired and the red sauce is just perfect. Even if you have to wait to get a table, you can play bocce ball while you wait so it's not so bad. My favorites were definitely the PORK SAUSAGE PIZZA because of the fresh vegetation boom of flavor coming from the red onion and grilled green onions on the pizza. WARM VANILLA BREAD PUDDING was so yummy. It's got some crispy edges and the contrast to the cold ice cream just makes it the best thing to end your meal with. Had a lovely lunch with a front a warm day midweek. Blues skies and a view of the water (even from our high perch on the back deck on the bar stools). Each ordered the Shaved Artichoke salad (quite nice) and shared a Roasted Vegetable plate (very good). Light and satisfying, reasonably priced considering the location and prices these days. Good food. Beautiful views. Nice heated table. I've eaten here twice now after hearing it was really good. I was worried because I don't eat bar food, but it turned out to be one of the healthiest meal I've had at a restaurant. I had the vegetable dish with added chicken. We had great wait staff both times. My only complaints (not big ones) is the first time I didn't get my appetizers until after served the meal. I seriously didn't want them at that point and should have sent them back. They went uneaten so my main meal wouldn't get cold, and I wasn't interested because I had my meal. And the second time I ordered potatoes and chicken added to my vegetables and there was no chicken at first (they brought some after requested to do so), and a tiny amount of potatoes which I was charged $4. for. Not huge errors, and not unusual for restaurants to make small errors. I still recommend this place. Note there is not a Bocce Ball court here now. I'm glad for it though. I like the tables next to the water much better. It's a spectacular view. read more

This restaurant use to be my favorite pizza joint in Sausalito but today changed it all. We ordered the clam and calamari pizza and it was vastly underwhelming. The crust was dry and over cooked, burnt on the edges, and lacked flavor profile. The manager came to our table to defend her pizza and she literally grabbed it with her own bare hands, lifted the bottom to show us that it wasn't burnt, took it away, and had the nerve to charge us for it. Service was terrible, wait is an hour long, and food is mediocre at best. read more

Went here for the first time for drinks with the girls and a little pup. We were seated on the court with a great view of the water and boats. We received superb customer service with every person we encountered - from the hostess to our server, and the various people that brought our dishes, drinks, refilled our water, etc. The drinks and food were delicious - very extensive drink menu! I quite enjoyed the Bellini, and the Kale pizza had the perfect crust with Krispy kale on top - I'm a sucker for white pizza. Our server recommended the garlic bread - and it did not disappoint with its perfect amount of delicious cheesiness. Amazing Pizza. They got Michelin rated chefs that changed the menu. I started going here since 2012. The Pizza never disappoints. Especially the pesto base is the best. Because they use the actual pesto and the toppings are fantastic. Who ever does not like the food here has problems that the restaurant can't solve. Please go eats else where if you don't like Authentic Neapolitan pizza. It is so hard to find amazing Napolitano Pizza in Marin. The servers and the support team is on point. For an Italian establishment, I was at an absolute horror when the waitress did not know what a Negroni was. I'm no sapient cocktail connoisseur, but a three ingredient Italian cocktail being a rarefied beverage at at an Italian establishment is absurd. If this place served Negronis, I would say it's a 5-star establishment with a bower of greenery overlooking a marine bay. But, the shade cast from the bartender abruptly turned my opinion a 180. We came here to try the food with a nice view. We were welcomed very rudely by our host. She was not very accommodating when seating us. Our waitress hardly checked on anything we needed. I ordered sauce when my food was brought out and it never showed. I couldn't ask anyone as the waitress never checked in. Our appetizers came after the entrees. What a great group of people working at Bar Bocce this afternoon. Very nice selection of lunch items. At our table we had one of their speck pizzas, shrimp poor boy and the chicken kale salad. There was little talking during our meal because everyone was focused on their yummy choices. Good beer and wine choices...friendly waitstaff like Lauren who guided us through our meal and we could see her smiling with here eyes...masks required, social distancing table set up and the like. Don't be surprised on a beautiful afternoon like today, there's a 45 minute wait and they will text you when your table is ready. Be patient it's worth the wait. Beautiful views of the Bay. All of the food was good and most of the food was great. The pear pizza threw me by surprise. I usually don't like sweets on pizza but it is delicious. The squash pizza was pretty good too (we got the bacon on the side). I would probably skip the kale pizza next time and try the mushroom pizza but it still tasted pretty good. The couscous was amazing. Probably my favorite thing that we tried. It has a spicy aftertaste so this isn't great if you don't like spice. The garlic bread was really good. Order it. The Shishito Peppers and Shrimp Po' Boy we're good but I would skip it next time. The bread on the Shrimp Po Boy wasn't super fresh. read more

Not only that dish came last (besides ordering it as first thing), but he served a different plate that had "spicy" in the name, blaming us for the wrong order. Seriously, we are telling you we dont eat spicy and you bring the only dish with a clear description including spice? This place is for more the atmosphere than the cuisine. Loved the views, the wait staff and the music! It was a shame the food didn't match the views splendor. Everything was decent, we didn't have anything that I would've considered bad but it wasn't the best I've ever had. I've paid way less for better food. It's the ambiance that I really liked. Great place for a date and a drink though! We started off with the garlic bread and calamari. The garlic bread was I think my favorite part, comes with peppers that have a kick and take the spice up which was so yummy for garlic bread. The calamari has a heavy tomato taste with a small spice level that tied it together. Never had that much tomato with calamari but it honestly wasn't bad. Just different. The pizza was fine, they have more than your conventional pizzeria items but like I said before it just wasn't the best. COVID style seating so out door only at this time. read more

Bar Bocce is awesome! Small interior with a larger outdoor patio overlooking the bay, this is the spot for craft pizza in Marin. Soft dough crust that's extra salty on the edges, I highly recommend the lemon-garlic pork, mozzarella, speck (pork) & asparagus pizza. I also enjoyed a crisp Icelandic White Ale that was very refreshing and paired very well with the white cream and lemon ricotta on my pizza.
