Another spot we hit for the first time and another nice gem. Walk in the doors and there's something just inviting about it, it's funny, kind of hard to pinpoint but you just want to go sit at the bar. Mind you, plenty of spots if the bar isn't your thing. Kind of your classic bar decor, plenty of TVs making it a cool spot to watch a game. We did choose the bar, was moderately busy, but our bartender was quick to greet us, get us menus and drink list, so was instantly impressed. I went with a standard Moscow Mule which was made quickly and accurately, refreshing! Wife had the sangria and enjoyed it immensely. Your drinks do not remain empty long, our bartender, wish I got her name, she was fantastic. Frankly, you could tell all the servers were personable and on their game. The food, very good! Landed on the chicken parm sub, delicious! House marina, mozzarella and perfectly cooked chicken, I mean it is really good, with hand cut fries that are surprisingly delicious, Wife had the steak n cheese and really enjoyed it. Quite a few good places in this area, glad we found it! Highly recommend! Went with my friend on a Saturday night. It was freezing out so some drinks and comfort food were an order. Since it was before 9 pm they had a selection of $5.00 martinis and we both chose the Lemon Drop. The bartender made it perfectly. We decided to split the short beef grilled cheese and an order of pink vodka penne with grilled chicken. Both were excellent. I'll definitely return again to try more in their menu.

I have been a regular at this bar for at least 10 plus years. It's very laid back and the staff is very welcoming. You will often see the owner Pete making his way around to say hello and ask how everything is. I'm not sure when the transition occurred exactly but they acquired a new chef who is excellent. The menu is no longer your typical bar food. There's many options to choose from. I brought a friend in with my tonight who is gluten free and she was very pleased at how many options she had to choose from. She said it was pretty much double from what she is typically offered. We both got the penne alla vodka (here with gluten free pasta) and our other friend got the Asian stir fry. Everything was excellent. I've honestly had a better pasta dish here for $14 than I have at various other Italian restaurants where I've paid $10 more for the dish. The bar also offers a lot of weekly specials. Monday's they have sliders and 1/2 priced martinis, Tuesday's is taco night, Wednesday .50 cent wings and tenders, Thursday but one pizza get one half off, and Friday 1/2 priced apps between 4-6. As far as some other negative reviews, the staff here is not rude. This is a comfy neighborhood bar with a lot of regulars. If there's ever been a rude staff member you won't see them around for long....

This is a place that I frequent quite often and the service is always good. The beers are always cold and the food is excellent. I'd recommend this place for a place to kick back, watch a game and hang with some friends. Order the wings too, one of the best in the state! read more

You might not think it from looking outside, but this bar has awesome food. My favorites are the pizzas and chicken quesadillas. My husband loves the wings! So many flavors! The staff is great and so are the drinks. We like to stop by here on a week night read more

Excellent food and service. I had the pulled pork quesadilla... delicious! Even the tortilla chips that came with it were so good! Awesome martinis, Saturday before 9:00, $5 martinis! Definitely recommend this restaurant read more

I bought a Groupon for this place and we decided to try it out on 25c wing Wednesday. We didn't have a sitter so I called ahead to see if it was ok to bring my little boy if we went early enough for dinner and they were cool with it. We went at 5:30 and there were maybe 5 other people there so we felt very comfortable bringing him in. It's set up just like any other restaurant with a bar, plenty of tables and relatively quiet. It's very nice inside, set up with tvs showing different channels (sports and shark week I believe, very man friendly). The food is bar casual but the menu really intrigued us, everything sounds very appetizing. We ordered 20 wings, a loaded potato grilled pizza, and an order of sweet potato fries. Everything tasted very good.. next time I would ask if they had a spicier buffalo sauce as they were a bit too mild for our taste, but other than that we were very pleased. (Probably my fault for just ordering buffalo wings and not asking or specifying "hot"). The wings were crispy which we enjoy, and the pizza crust was thin and crunchy. The sweet potato fries were nicely done as well, just enough salt. Our waitress was super nice, we will definitely return. (But next time we'll get a sitter, my son wouldn't sit still for anything)! Note: If you get the Groupon it is not valid on 25c wings since they are already discounted, it does not say that on the Groupon. Didn't make a difference for us though since we got other stuff. The food is very reasonably priced.. even with a soda, a beer, and a bottled water we JUST hit $20, then the wings were only $5.. with tax our total was $7 (after Groupon). Based on the photos on their website it gets hopping after dark with a very Jersey Shore crowd. read more

Hi everyone! Just thought I would like to share many past visits to this great place for sirloin "burgers". Yes, GREAT burgers at a bar. Go figure. The price is right as well, lowest around. Try it out and test it out yourself. You will be surprised. They have the best tasting burgers. Even the fries are #1. They are not greasy, too thin or thick. Just the right size. Atmosphere is excellent with the TVs all around and nice decor. Service is very attentive. You be the judge. This place is definitely a "try out". read more

Fondi. Itri. That last one matters. That's where Joe and Esther DeQuattro's family recipes come from. That's the promise on the wall. Joe and Esther have been building serious Italian restaurants in Rhode Island since 2002. Pane e Vino on Federal Hill. Massimo, also on Federal Hill. Bar Lino is the newest, and they've built something that has no business looking this good in a Johnston strip mall. Red leather barstools, black tile floor with white cross inlay, globe pendants, warm light, a full liquor wall. Walk in and you forget where you parked. Start with the meatballs. Two of them, in sauce, with a dollop of ricotta on the plate. Tender, dense, moist all the way through. The sauce and the meat came from the same place of intention. Sunday dinner The ricotta cooled things down just enough. Get these. We went for the grandma pizza. Fior di latte, pepperoni, black olives added. It arrived on a sheet pan looking exactly right, cut into squares, edges golden. The crust looked like it would crunch, somewhere between focaccia and Pizza Hut visually and in its golden brown texture, but it didn't deliver in either direction. The sauce soaked into the dough. The cheese separated from the top. The pepperoni carried the pie, crispy-edged and punchy, and did it well. The grandma pie has four versions on the menu. The one with pink vodka sauce and roasted garlic might be worth the next visit. If I come back again I am probably going to shoot for a chicken or veal parm because I think they probably do an excellent version of that based on all visual cues. Service was professional and well-timed. There when you needed them, gone when you didn't.

Last week I went to Bar101 with a friend, and we each had a few margaritas. I paid the bill which came to $45.09. I gave a $9 tip for a total of $54.09. I signed the merchant copy, wrote the total on the customer copy, and kept the customer copy as I always do. This week I noticed a $122 charge on my credit card from bar101. I called and explained that the charge on my card is way more than what it should be. The bartender who answered the phone immediately asked, 'oh were you here with someone else and you were drinking margaritas?' I told her I was. She then told me that the bartender gave us the wrong check and only realized it after we left, so she took it upon herself to add $68 to my card without my knowledge or consent. When I told her that we definitely did not drink $122 worth of drinks, and that a bar is not allowed to just add charges without the customer's knowledge after the customer pays the bill they give the customer, she became very arrogant. Ultimately she said she'd have the manager call me, so we'll see what happens. But the totality of the circumstances (adding charges without my knowledge, giving an inaccurate account of why it happened, and maintaining a sanctimonious attitude throughout) make me confident that this bar is shady as all hell regardless of what the manager does. Even if it was ok to add a charge (it's not), and even if $122 was the correct amount (not even close), her attitude lacked any tone of apology. After all, even according to her own account, Bar 101 was responsible for the error. I definitely do not recommend Bar101 for this reason. It is incredible to me that they think any of these circumstances are reasonable business practices. I've attached the receipt here to prove what I'm saying in this review. read more

Had a baby shower here and they were more than accommodating, super friendly, food was great and the staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. I would highly recommend Bar 101 as both a great venue for a special occasion or just a place to drop in and have a drink and something to eat. read more
