Morel Mushroom Risotto
Andrea P.

The moment we arrived, we were met with spectacularly welcoming service! The menu changes here regularly, so I knew the current menu did not have the same options as other reviews I've seen, but still all sounded amazing. We hade the beets & strawberries fore an appetizer, as well as the fry bread. Both delicious! I ordered the mushroom risotto for my entree, and was blown away by the flavor and the freshness of the ingredients. I almost wanted to lick my plate, lol. I highly recommend. I will definitely be back again!

4% added to every check to subsidize employee healthcare? WTF since when did that become my responsibility?
Steven P.

I have no issue with the food. But when we got our receipt, it says that they add 4% to every check to help subsidize employee healthcare. That's BS. I don't even know if that's legal? Apparently, it's disclosed on the menu somewhere, but we didn't see it. If I had, we probably would've complained maybe even left. Can't honestly say that now. But we paid it and I'm not sure we'll ever be back.

$12 STRAWBERRY BRIGADERIO: tasted exactly like a funnel cake! It was the perfect amount of crunchy, sweetness, and fresh ingredient.

PARKING: There is FREE street parking. FOOD: $11 FRY BREAD: the bread was pretty salty, it didn't seem fried but reminded me of a Pita bread. Came with pepperoni butter, slight kick. $21 YELLOWFIN TUNA CEVICHE: was very sweet! Came with fresh GA strawberries & strawberry puree. Also came with 3 crispy corn tortillas. $39 KOREAN BEEF CHEEF AGNOLOTTI: this was my favorite dish!!! The beef was so flavorful and the pillow filled pasta was the perfect accompaniment. $41 SAI UA BOUDIN: the pork sausage was flavorful, but dry. I honestly loved the charred cabbage the most on the plate! Flavors were delicious, just wish the sausage wasn't so crumbly & dry. $11 VIDALIA ONIONS: cut into quarter chunks and carmelized to be on the sweeter side. VIDALIA onions are sweet to begin with. LOVED the carrot puree sauce. $12 STRAWBERRY BRIGADERIO: this dessert tasted exactly like a funnel cake! It was the perfect amount of crunchy, sweetness, and fresh ingredient. OVERALL: The menu is VERY LIMITED, but they change it often. So making choices isn't too difficult. If you come with more than 3 people you can pretty much try everything on the menu! Love all the flavors here, cute space and great service! Great taste & quality for the price point. Highly recommend!

Banshee is a cute, lowkey spot for a date night or to grab a couple of drinks in EAV! It's pretty busy so would definitely recommend a reservation, and save some time to look for street parking! We started with their famous fry bread that comes with pepperoni butter, sesame, and scallions. The bread is fine - would have liked it to be a little crunchier like a scallion pancake, but the butter was SOOOO good!! I could eat it forever and totally get why they sell it to go lol For our entrees I had the mushroom and cocoa tagliatelle while my fiance had the Korean beef cheek agnolotti. Out of the two I'd give my dish a 9/10 but would give the agnolotti a 7/10 since I thought it was a bit sweet. Service was really good, but it was a bit expensive compared to other nice pasta places around town. I'll probably come back for a different seasonal menu but I'm not itching to do so!

Parking is a mess for dinner on a late Friday night but it was worth the hassle. We parked on the streets in the neighborhoods and got a drink at the bar before our reservation. The drinks were great and the space is nice! The food was DELICIOUS. I would 100% recommend starting with the fry bread with pepperoni butter. That is a must have and the Japanese sweet potatoes are hands down the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. The Duck + fig plate I had was delicious and I'm glad I have leftovers. The Vegan Goods were good but nothing to die over. And finally the matcha crème Brûlée was good!

Wow. Just. Wow. First and foremost East Atlanta Village is a vibe. Parking: East Atlanta Village has free street parking in general. Definitely check where you park, but it is a really cool part of this incredible nook of the ITP. We had no problem finding parking really close to banshee on the street. Ambiance: the branding and the lighting shines at this restaurant. There is so much to be sad about the simplicity and authenticity of this place. Kat was super attentive and made the experience awesome. The restaurant itself reminds me of the menu, curated and intentional. Food: the menu is extraordinary. It's tight, and everything is clearly done really well. It rotates based on the season, which I love, and for the price you're getting incredibly quality and fresh meal. - the ceviche rocked. With a little bit of spice from the jalapeño matched with the sweetness of peach and citrus, this dish was one of my favorites. I don't think I've ever had ceviche with peaches, but it worked really well. - Then we had the melon and cucumber salad. This salad totally exploded my taste buds. It was a little bit on the spicy side, with a unique twist of capers and tofu skin. I don't think I've ever had tofu skin, but it really does taste like a pasta or something equivalent. - the steak was unbelievable. It had potato sticks on top, which were perfectly salty and this incredible creamed corn below, which was flavorful, but not overwhelming. The steak itself was perfectly cooked and I wouldn't have asked for any other way other than how the chef recommended. We ate every bite. It comes pre-sliced, which I love. Our overall dinner looked like it was close to Michelin caliber without the price tag. We ended our meal with the bananas four ways. I didn't take a photo in time, because again we devoured every bite. We thought that this is going to be four different banana dishes, but it's actually four different banana types all wrapped up into one dish. The entire banana layer " cake " is covered in a banana, flavored creamy marzipan foam type thing, and I could eat it all! The best part about this place is that it will change with the seasons, so I can't wait to go back! We did make a reservation, but it wasn't super crazy on a Wednesday night.

We had an outstanding dinner at Banshee in East Atlanta Village. This restaurant serves fine-dining-quality New American cuisine in a hip, casual atmosphere. The restaurant opened in September 2018. My wife wanted to come here for a while. We finally made it and found it to be worth the wait and hype. Banshee earned Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition in 2023 and retained the award in 2024. Well deserved. This place is popular. Book reservations in advance (Resy). Free parking is available behind the restaurant on Gresham Ave SE and in the surface lots on either side of Gresham. During our visit, the lots were full. I parked for free on the other side of the block, on Joseph Ave SE. This is East Atlanta, so the lots aren't in great condition. Watch out for pot holes, etc. Banshee has two dining rooms and two bars, front and back. They also have a patio/deck, but it wasn't in use during our visit. The vibe and decor are very "EAV" in that it's eclectic and unpretentious. The spaces have exposed brick, ceilings, ductwork, etc., and are well worn, giving the place character. In terms of dress code, I don't think there is one. Come as you are. This place is great for special occasions. I took my wife for her birthday and we made a romantic date night out of it. All of the tables were candlelit and we enjoyed the fun and diverse playlist. Food-wise, the menu was relatively small with only a handful of selections in both the appetizer and entree sections. Below is a list of what we had. It should give you a good idea of what Banshee has to offer and what the prices are like. We ordered four of the restaurant's five apps, half of the sides (1/2), and all of the desserts (2/2). We had leftovers. Cocktails * Stately Hag ($14) - tequila, Strega, Cocchi Americano, lemon, thyme * Butterfly Knife ($14) - Alpe Genepy, sloe gin, apple brandy, lemon, angostura * Killer of Caerbannog ($13) - Hoodoo Chicory, Chairman's Reserve Spiced rum, carrot + coconut, angostura Begin * Fry Bread ($10) - pepperoni butter, sesame, scallion * Grilled Corn Ribs ($14) - corn stracciatella, cumin + cilantro butter, lime * Mushroom Toast ($14) - glazed maitake, shishito jam, Parmesan cream, grilled focaccia * Shallot Tart Tatin ($15) - whipped brebis cheese, salmon roe, chervil Continue * Duck Confit ($37) - charred eggplant caramelle, caponata, hakurei turnip, cherry jus * New York Strip ($49) - Jimmy Nardello peperonata, crispy potatoes, black garlic + shoyu butter Growing Now * Charred Cabbage Salad ($12) - grilled tofu skin, shishito, crispy garlic, lime vinaigrette, toasted coconut Finish * Honeycrisp Apple Mochi ($10) - vanilla cremeux, apple chips, cider caramel * Tres Leches Tiramisu ($11) - amaretto creme, thyme salt Everything was phenomenal. It seems they perfected every cocktail and every dish. The execution was on point. Also, everything was presented beautifully. Just wow, all around. There's a fine attention to detail here and I'm sure that's played a large part in Banshee's success. The cocktails were terrific. The Stately Hag was pretty. The Butterfly Knife was like a variation of the lemon drop; sweet and tangy. The Killer of Caerbannog, named after a rabbit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, was sweet and thick. It was like a dessert drink, but actually went well with dinner. It was my favorite drink of the three. Our favorite dish was the Mushroom Toast. We love mushrooms (especially me) and, simply put, the Mushroom Toast was an explosion of umami/flavors and appetizing textures. I'm not big fan of corn on the cob, but I loved the Grilled Corn Ribs. To me, it was a play on corn on the cob, but split into and eaten as multiple smaller pieces, like ribs. Again, the flavors were incredible. The Shallot Tart Tatin was savory and distinctive. The whipped brebis cheese, made from sheep's milk, was shaped like the Michelin Guide logo. Coincidence? The Fry Bread came with Banshee's popular pepperoni butter. It's so popular, the restaurant sells it by the pint ($10/pint). The bread and butter went perfectly together. The Duck Confit was amazing. The duck was tender and tasty. The caramelle (candy-shaped pasta) was al dente. I requested the New York Strip medium rare and it came out perfect. What was most memorable about this dish was the side of potato spheres, accompanied with some sort of cream sauce that had the velvety texture of ricotta. It was delectable. The Charred Cabbage Salad was some of the best cabbage I've had, anywhere. I loved all the different textures (crispy and crunchy) and flavors. Both desserts were superb. We preferred the Honeycrisp Apple Mochi because it was unique. My wife described it as a deconstructed apple hand pie, but if the crust was fried mochi. The Tres Leches Tiramisu was creamy and not too sweet. It was the best of both worlds. Service was great. Our server was Tasmia and she took excellent care of us. All of the staff we interacted with greeted us with a smile.

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Atlanta! The menu changes often so it is always exciting to try something new. Always the best and most interesting meal I've had in Atlanta each visit. The staff so so friendly and helpful that it makes the whole experience feel special every time. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and moody but never so dark that it interferes with the meal at all. It's perfect in every way.

Big fan of Banshee! The interior is absolutely adorable - cozy but modern. We both ordered the grouper and loved how crispy yet flaky it was. Staff was also super helpful with menu suggestions, so now we wanna go back to try the other recs.

Great spot! The smaller plates are where it's at! We were obsessed with the frybread, lamb skewers, and ceviche. Our larger plates were still pretty good, don't get me wrong, but I'd go just for those 3 items next time!

This place has some serious vibes!! They get it right. Beautiful and interesting staff, good service, delicious food, great decor. I loved everything about it! I only wish the menu was longer so I could return more often. I've already tried half the menu. Fry bread- different! Try it, it's worth the carbs Spaghetti - delicious Snapper-amazing Corn lasagna - very good and such an original dish.. it's rich

This place kind of gives a slight speakeasy vibe since the sign isn't visible (if it weren't for the corded of line and bouncer outside, you might miss it), and the inside of it was absolutely breathtaking with its art deco-like interior--I mean they honestly know how to make a first great impression. The only item I ordered when I was there was a classic margarita (although they had other enticing drink options), which was great and had a slight heavy pour (which I prefer)! Hot tip: check out their instagram stories if you want to see who's DJing that night, so you can see if it's your vibe. I, unfortunately, forgot to do that that night, but the music was great for the most part! The only issue is that the DJ would switch between a great fast-paced Afrobeats or Hip-Hop song and slow R&B jams, which kind of killed the vibe a bit for me, but I still had a time! Highly recommend checking this place and def look up the DJ to prep for your night out!

It felt like stepping into a club in the 70s with the velvets, rich colors and wallpaper but still had a modern feel. We had 8:30 reservations which is apparently early to get there. It was basically empty at that time but we didn't mind because it gave us time to sit and eat. The DJ arrived a little before 10 p.m. and the crowd started to come in. Before it got crowded, we ordered the tostones appetizer and the ropa vieja. The tostones were good and crispy and gave more of a plantain chip texture. It came with 3 sauces and I thought the green sauce was a garlic sauce but it was more herby with a little acid. Either way, we enjoyed it. The ropa vieja was delicious! The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. Now, the rice was a coconut rice and it was a little sweeter than I prefer but the savory flavor of the beef helped. The service was good and at times too attentive. I know that sounds crazy to say because sometimes you go somewhere and have to search for your server but our server came to ask us how everything was every 5 minutes. It was hard to get into our conversation because he came over so much but I guess that's better than nothing. By the time we left a little after midnight, the place was crowded. The crowd was mixed in every way but seemed to be more young people. The DJ was really good and played a lot of mixes (i.e. an amapiano version of "I want to dance with somebody". Good vibes.

Title: Flavor Explosion, Soulful Hospitality & a Last-Minute Meal That Turned Magical…read more Let me just say this: what started as a "quick bite before closing" turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at The Poach Social about 20 minutes before closing, unsure if we'd be rushed--but instead, we were welcomed with warmth and ease. Lived the ambiance. Hunter, our server, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel taken care of from the very start. Then came Victor, the owner and chef--and this is where things shifted from good to special. Without us even asking, he recommended a mocktail that felt like it was made just for me: a sorrel-based drink layered with ginger, spice, herbs, and fresh fruit. It was refreshing, balanced, and honestly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've had. We started with the jerk egg rolls... and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were clapping after the first bite. Crispy, juicy, flavorful, with a sweet-spicy sauce that just worked. We immediately knew we'd be taking more to go. For the main course, we ordered the Poach Social breakfast plate and the blackened salmon with polenta. The breakfast plate was comforting and well-executed, but the salmon dish? Absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with creamy polenta and a rich sauce that brought everything together. It was a full-on flavor experience. The timing of everything--from drinks to apps to entrées--was seamless. Hunter checked in at the perfect moments, never too much, never too little. We ended up in a lovely conversation with Victor, who is not only talented but genuinely kind and passionate. He brought us complimentary slices of carrot cake, and even though we were already full... we ate every bite. No regrets. It was phenomenal. What I loved most is that this place doesn't just serve food--it creates an experience. There's intention, care, and heart behind everything. If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go. This place deserves to thrive. We will absolutely be back.

It's a cute and trendy place, but the only thing I would change was the placing of tables because when people are passing by, it was very difficult. If someone was in a wheelchair, it could be a problem getting into the tight spaces. The last thing would also be drink order is coming out in a timely manner.
