Vesper has become my new go-to cocktail bar. The drinks are always incredible with amazing bartenders. They are super attentive and make really good drinks, whether they are on the menu or not. They have a full bar so you can order anything you want, in addition to having some beers and wines too. I love their seasonal specials as well. I recommend the blackberry mule! It was a bit crowded this time around but there are typically spots available either at the bar or at the couches. This was my first time ordering food and it was decent. I wouldn't order food here regularly, but they have a pretty good menu if you're hungry. read more

My friends and family stumbled upon this place after leaving a comedy show. Its in a very cute and quaint area in Grant Park. I haven't been in the area before, so I was quite impressed. So I love anything James Bond, let me just get that out of the way! Casino Royale is one of my favorite movies. I thoroughly enjoy it from beginning to end. So when I found out there was a bar named vesper, I immediately put it on my radar. I've been here a couple of times but I never really thought to do a review about it. So let's try it now. It's a very small shop as far as the establishment. They have a lot of couch seating there, and they have a fairly decent size bar. Not big though. So you may fit less than 10 people at the bar because they're predominantly looking to have people sitting in couch type sections. It's nice because you get to be tucked away if you want to go ahead and have a date or have a intimate group of friends. But if you want to turn up, this is not the spot for that. The service is okay there, don't really have any complaints about it. You'll sit down and then they'll come and take your order. It wasn't the quickest but the guy took the order. Definitely stayed engaged and kept the water coming while the drinks were still being prepared at the bar. The decor around it is pretty dope. It's very artsy and spy Deco if that makes any sense. I enjoy the ambiance a lot. There is street parking and there are a couple of lots that are in the neighborhood and other establishments you can park at. I believe that they're all paid parking though, so don't expect to have free parking here in Grant Park in the specific area. The first hour or two was free and I was actually parking at the pizza spot down the street. So I had the Bonita, it's a tequila drink that it was pretty decent. Good presentation, probably wouldn't get it again but it was okay. Just to know, this shop is more geared toward Jen and vodka than it is whiskey so that's why I just had to pick something on the menu because there were not a lot of bourbon or whiskey options for me. I'm not upset about that though. Overall it's definitely a place you want to try just to dug off and see what it's about. There are a couple good eating spots around there so you could have some food and then have some drinks all on the same trip and not even move your car. read more

We LOVED our experience at Vesper! It's a quaint but very vibey downtown spot that specializes in cocktails and small plates. We got the Tuna Tataki, which was out of this world from a flavor and freshness standpoint. We also enjoyed a beautifully crafted charcuterie board and the Naan pizza -- both of which were absolutely delicious. The cocktails are ON point, and the service is top notch. What an absolutely cool spot, reminds me of my NYC days. This is a more intimate spot and can accommodate a small group of friends. They have a good amount of bar space and the bartenders are pretty cool. Many bars today I think Dont make the best cocktails anymore. It's either too much or less of an ingredient. I ordered a coffee martini and dude was it made really well. Taste like if I would have made it at home. Great location snuggled in a cozy neighborhood. I love the couches and the locals there very chill. Music was on point as well. High enough to enjoy the music but low enough to have a conversation with someone next to me or date. If you're looking for the best martinis in town, VESPER IS IT. YOU MADE IT!!! My girlfriends had been raving about Vesper and we finally set a date for me to see what the hype was all about and I was not disappointed. They have some dog friendly outdoor seating, although in nice weather, it goes fast. There is plenty of room inside, but once peak hours hit, you'd be lucky to find a seat, let alone standing room. So get there earlier to ensure a table or seat! Espresso Martinis (on the menu as May Day) here are a MUST - I have been told I also need to come back and try their whiskey espresso martinis so I will leave that review pending for now. The Vesper Lynd is a classic bond inspired cocktail that is also my general drink of choice - and they do it right! I tried the molten lava chocolate cake on another visit to pair with my espresso martini and it was just ok. At least there was the inside was molten, but we found it to be a bit grainy and way too sweet. Will skip that one next time and stick to liquid calories LOL. I WILL be back for those whiskey espresso martinis ASAP. Although I've heard that tequila or rum espresso martinis are the new thing right now? I'll ask the bartender :) read more

I've been going to Vesper for a few years now so I'm surprised I haven't already written a review! The space is fairly small and can be intimate but the décor is beautiful. Plush, cozy couches and art on the walls gives this place a colorful vibe and the light fixtures add a touch of elegance. The cocktails here are pretty solid and range from classics like Negronis and Manhattans, to Espresso Martinis, to their specialty cocktails like the Tilly Masterson. They do not have a huge kitchen so the food menu is a bit limited. However, they offer tapas or smaller size bites to accompany your drinks. One of my favorites has been the Lobster Quesadilla. All in all, Vesper is a great neighborhood option to get a late night snack and a decent craft cocktail. read more

Vesper is located in a charming little neighborhood and is a casual, cozy spot with lots of outdoor seating. Indoor is velvet seating, very sophisticated. The staff is also very nice. I got the peach bourbon smash and it was sort of spicy and sweet--pretty good cocktail, not too strong but you can def taste it. I also got the chicken tacos and those were really good! I honestly enjoyed both... if you get the cauliflower make sure you get water too, because it's very spicy. For my Mocktail, I went with the Bonita. Soooo good. Slightly sweet, yet refreshing. It was made with Ritual O-Proof Tequila, prickly pear syrup, lime & Ginger beer.... I honestly didn't even know Ritual Zero Proof existed, until last night. I just assumed that mocktails were just made with mixers and no alcohol. Decent prices on both food and drinks. Atmosphere: The place is kind of intimate.... I say "kind of" because it's small, and the seating arrangement with the couched sections, books and board games, lend to an intimate feel, but on a Friday night it gets PACKED (and the lights are all the way up) I couldn't really catch the vibe. DO NOT come in for a couple pre-dinner drinks after walking 7 miles through ATL and not having anything to eat, not even a little snackie poo, since your small breakfast at 11am. Or do it, like we did, and enjoy an extra punch with your strong, very curated cocktail. Jokes aside, we came in just after opening, after a long day of walking. And let me tell ya, walking in was not only a reprieve from the humidity but the gentle, soft couches made for a nice place to relax after a long day. The cocktail menu/program is short but sweet, just how I like it, with a good variety of flavors and tastes. I can't remember the items I ordered (hahaha drunk after one sip) but I do know that they were well balanced and strong in all the right ways. We didn't order any food and that was a shame because it looked good but we wanted to save our appetites for dinner next door. I think Vesper is super cute. From the outside it looks like a little cafe and inside it's got that 70's vibe with the velvet couches.. besides the Marilyn/Vesper painting (and obviously the name) I wouldn't say there's too much of a James Bond theme(?) but I feel like it's actually better that way! Insert Vesper; neatly positioned next to Gillespie's Gunshow restaurant and across from the cunningly named Vietnamese inspired BBQ joint "Pho Cue". I can't say enough about Vesper. It's a James Bond inspired theme. Has a slight speakeasy or membership exclusive feel to it, but it's for all to enjoy. Feng shui is on point. Our waitress was friendly and we ordered based on her recommendations. We ordered the chicken sandwich with tater tots and the lobster quesadilla. Everything about the food we received said cooked in an air fryer. The quesadilla was hot and cheesey. Cut in 4. Only a 1/4 of it had lobster. The tortilla was extra crispy and burnt in some parts. The chicken sandwich was described as their version of a chick fil a sandwich. It was very much a frozen fried chicken patty. Half cooked. Half brick. The bun was also toasted in the air fryer. Hard on the order soggy was pub sauce on the inside. The air fryer tater tots were tolerable. I cut my losses and asked for the check.
