Very disrespectful and rude owner. I had only been there for 10 mins and wanted to add baileys to my espresso martini so I walked up to the bartender politely and started to ask him if he could add baileys .... As I was mid sentence talking to the bartender a man very flamboyantly comes up to me at the bar and hit his chest very aggressively and says "excuse you i AM the owner and you will not change my music playlist, this is my bar!", I was immediately caught off guard and was completely confused as to what i had to do with any music being played. I was only at the bar to change my espresso. I informed the owner that he clearly had the wrong person and quietly sat my espresso down and let him know that was rude and i will never return back and will tell every single tv/film/media friend i know to never go to this place. Felt very racist!! Totally unacceptable behavior. He should've apologized on the spot and said im so sorry I have you mixed up with another person, instead was arrogant and nasty to me for no reason at all. When you walk into Vesper on a Friday night, it's instant electricity. We were able to snag seats at the bar luckily, but there's not a ton of seating on a busy night. The bartender (JT?) was super helpful in providing recommendations for drinks and made us delicious espresso martinis using actual espresso unlike a lot of places who use cold brew. The martini ratios were a little bit off but I only know that because I've perfected the espresso martini at home. They also have a great drink called the new fashion which was like a femme version of the old fashion. He made me a spicy skinny margarita too which was great. This place is laughable! The martini I ordered was good which doesn't always happen. Everyone inside is VERY slow with service (one time we left when it wasn't even busy) and we've also seen other people leave who don't get served or get simply ignored. I was made to feel like I was invisible. It used to be a nice cocktail lounge with gentlemen, it is now trashy and sad to say dirty/divy, don't get me started on the food. Vesper is located in the heart of Glenwood with convenient street parking nearby as well as a parking lot right behind it. They interior of the bar is very eclectically designed- you can feel the James Bond inspiration. They also have multiple outdoor tables to sit out, which is a great option during the COVID-19 pandemic. They limit contact by using electronic menus via QR codes. They have a huge list of cocktails that are likely to appease your taste whether you are a fan of sweeter cocktails (try the Pussy Galore), something with a caffeinated kick (try the May Day), or a fan of classics like the Negroni. I went with the Casino Royale- a mix of gin, Chambord, and Champagne. It was a mix of all of my favorite liquors and definitely would be my choice again for next time. They have a selection of small plates to share, we opted for the the "Totchos"- tater tots with bacon, beer cheese, and chives which were delicious. They also have options of a lobster quesadilla, a cheese board, and mini pork tacos. While our drinks and snacks were all delicious, the service was very slow. When our Totchos were brought out, they said they would bring us plates and silverware...but they never came. It also took quite some time just to be able to order a second drink. All the waiters were friendly and trying their best, I think they just need some more staff for busy shifts. Overall great food/drinks at Vesper to make me come back, but the slow service makes me weary to come back when i am absolutely starving. read more

Came in for a couple drinks while waiting for our reservation at gun show. One of the owners happen to be bartending. Our drinks where awesome and loved the James Bond vibes of the whole place. I live in the neighborhood, so I've been curious about this place. I've visited a few times now. Drinks: Really good! They're fun, creative, and have a really good selection of both fancy cocktails and mocktails. I like that they're so inclusive of our sober friends. Food: Also good! A little pricy, but honestly it makes sense with their vibe. The lobster quesadilla was delicious. Charcuterie board was a good snack to share at the table. Vibe: It's decorated very cute! Lots of comfy couches, dim lighting. More of a lounge feel than a restaurant or bar, for sure. Service: Everyone I've met has been super friendly and accommodating, but I could for sure tell they were overwhelmed when the place got more crowded inside (we scored one of the tables outside) because it took a long time to get our drinks. There's usually only 1-2 bartenders though, so it makes sense for a fancy cocktail to take a few extra minutes. Covid Compliance: Since they originally opened, they've ordered lots more tables and chairs for outside. The servers seemed inconsistent with their masks so this could use some tightening up. The cocktails are excellent. The food is absolute trash. The Tatar Tots weren't crispy, and were covered with cheese whiz and packaged bacon bits. The ham and cheese grilled cheese made me want to cry. It was the saddest grilled cheese of my life. Store bought bread, deli ham and cheese. No butter on the bread, only one side was grilled and the cheese wasn't melted. Just a sad state of affairs in the food department. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood. Bartender was nice, drink was good. Our food never came so that was disappointing. they don't require masks and the bartenders were wearing their masks as chin guards. Not to mention the tables inside were all filled and not distanced, with only two small high tops outside. Don't get too attached, unless they hide the truth this place will have to close in a matter of days because of someone getting COVID. An irresponsible addition to the neighborhood is such a missed opportunity. read more

I've been coming to Vesper for a few months now and always have a great time, good service, good food, excellent charcuterie board, and quality cocktails. It has a Cheers feeling both the staff and customers have been very friendly. I've gone in a group or alone. My girlfriend was in a boot and on crutches and they were very accommodating. Dress up or come casual, handicap accessible, gender neutral bathrooms, LGBTQ, and minority friendly. Basically welcoming for all! Glad it's in the neighborhood! read more

I love everything about Vesper... the ambiance, the tapas, their amazing Bond Girls inspired cocktails & the staff makes you feel right at home. It is a smaller venue & can get very busy at times but they do their best to accommodate their guests. One of the owners said that they are going to upgrade their outside seating & add more tables soon since they currently only have a few high tops available. We went out for my girlfriends birthday & were able to grab a great spot & enjoy the night! I would definitely recommend checking it out. read more
