    SALMON LOX SANDWICH
    Mark L.

We had a great group experience at Poach Social for brunch. I ordered the salmon lox sandwich, which paired smoked salmon with crisp Texas toast, cream cheese, fresh lettuce, and tomato. Every component worked well together. The entire table enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. During our visit, the owner stopped by to chat and shared the concept and inspiration behind the restaurant. The combination of good food and welcoming hospitality made for an excellent visit.

Easy online reservations but be aware it requires a credit card. Small parking lot as it is shared with other businesses but street parking available. Hostess and our server were very nice. Another tall gentleman working was also very nice and helpful. Took a while for food but it was crowded during brunch and a few large parties. Nice drink and food selection. One order was incorrect which was big in adding pork when the person does not eat pork. No accommodations with a discount, food offering or anything for if a food allergy that would have been a big miss. Replacement came fast.

Poach Social is an unassuming spot in the Summerhill neighborhood. At first, I was worried about parking, especially on a Sunday, but there was plenty of street parking. Since I was by myself, I was seated pretty promptly. Taking in the ambiance, it's almost like coming into someone's kickback at their house. Music was great. I was immediately greeted and my drink order was taken. When my waitress came back with my drink order, she gave me several suggestions on what to try. Honestly everything on the menu looked good. I chose the jerk eggrolls and the salmon polenta because I still kind of wanted some breakfast. The jerk eggrolls were so so so good! The Salmon polenta was just okay-I probably should have gone with my instinct to get the SLT. Outside of that, everything was great. They do automatic 20% gratuity, FYI. I will be back soon, hopefully.

This is a Jamaican-owned American brunch spot in the Summerhill neighborhood. The restaurant has a small shared parking lot, but there's also plenty of street parking. Upon entry, you're warmly greeted, and the space feels cozy and intimate. I went with my mom, and we were seated right away. We shared the shrimp appetizer and gave it five stars. We both ordered the Elderberry drink -- I added gin to mine to turn it from a mocktail into a cocktail, and it was exquisite. We both had the SLT and added pickled red onions, which took it from a 7 to an 8. Definitely recommend for a quick brunch -- they got us in and out!

Had such a nice experience at Poach Social! The restaurant is a little small and tucked away, but honestly that just adds to the charm. Definitely one of those hidden gems that's well worth finding. The staff was extremely attentive and you could really see the teamwork. Everyone worked together seamlessly to get food and drinks out quickly, and we never felt like we were waiting long for anything. The food is also affordable, which is always a plus. I ordered the veggie omelette and added smoked sausage. The sausage was flavorful and cooked really well -- definitely the standout -- but I will say it felt a little heavy for breakfast. The vegetables tasted super fresh, which I appreciated, though I do wish they were cut up a bit smaller inside the omelette for a better texture balance. Overall, it's absolutely worth trying. Great service, good prices, and fresh food in a cozy setting. I'd definitely come back!

OMG my taste buds were poached! This is one of the best breakfast spots I've been to. Back at my mom's house on a Saturday morning, wait, it's Monday! Hunter was amazing (in my Oprah voice)! The service and atmosphere was just what I needed before I go back to LA

5/5 stars - Solid brunch spot, we'll definitely be back! Visited on a Saturday morning around 11:30 AM--no reservation needed, and we got seated right away, which was a pleasant surprise for a weekend brunch spot. Parking is super easy with plenty of free roadside spots right by the restaurant. The roads in the area are a bit raggedy, but it felt safe and no big hassle. The place has a medium-sized interior with a few outdoor tables. Seating is fairly close together, but not uncomfortably so--nothing deal-breaking. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. Food came out prepared to order, nice and hot. The grits were extra creamy and done in that real Southern style--wholesome and comforting. I went with the veggie omelet, and the ingredients were super fresh with big chunks of veggies (not the usual tiny dice), plus the eggs tasted genuinely fresh, not like the liquid egg stuff you sometimes get elsewhere. The highlight for me was the chicken sausage--super flavorful and packed with taste. My fiancé loved the pork sausage just as much; it was hearty and wholesome. Ambiance is solid--not basic, but nothing overly fancy either. It's a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes--great value overall. Quality food, quick service, and a really good experience all around. We'll absolutely be stopping by again next time we're in town. 5/5 - Highly recommend!

Came here on a Saturday for brunch with my sister and niece after her game. We didn't have any reservations but Josephine (I believe was her name) was able to accommodate us and seat us immediately. The couple sitting next to us dined there frequently and told us we couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. And they were right! For drinks, we started with an espresso martini, strawberry lemonade, and the one love. We all liked our beverages. For brunch, we had the Poach Social Veggie Omelet (protein added), waffle tower, and the shrimp and grits. We all scraped our plates! Even my niece who eats like a bird finished her entire meal! We bought a to go meal for my mom and she loved the veggie omelet too! Parking: They are doing construction around the area but parking was easy and free. We parked on the street close to the venue because the lot was full. Music: They played a solid selection of R&B songs, both old school and new school. I would definitely stop by again for a chill brunch vibe.

So this place was a bit underwhelming to me. I've had it on my list of brunch restaurants to try for sometime now and finally ended up going for Easter Sunday this year. My first impression is that it is pretty tiny. It's just one room and that room is jampacked with tables. I almost feel like if they're going to have a location that small there should be a few less tables just for there to be more room, but I understand it's a business. However, it did kind of affect my comfort a little bit. There were a few times where I had to move out of the way so that servers could get by me and my first thought was there's just not enough room in this restaurant. I also thought it would be a little bit more of an upscale aesthetic than it was. It is nice in there don't get me wrong but the overall aesthetic was different than I expected. The ambience was OK. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. My food was also pretty decent not amazing but not horrible so as you can see from pretty much everything I'm saying it was overall just OK to me. I will say the service was good though we had a waitress and then another man we spoke to who I'm not sure if he is the manager or what but they were both really friendly and helpful. I did order some scrambled eggs that took a very long time and I assume to make up for it they ended up giving my mom and I free mimosas which was a really nice touch so I would definitely say the service was good out of everything. I thought that was the best part, but to me the food was nothing to write home about and I just think that the place is just a little too small for the number of tables that they are trying to serve at the same time.

This neighborhood restaurant was the perfect spot for our friends' meetup. From the warm greeting at the door to our attentive waiter and the chef's special touch in perfecting our dishes--it was a true mood booster! I loved the ambiance--cozy and homegrown with a hint of oasis vibes. We kicked things off with rounds of hot and iced coffee. While the drink menu had plenty of tempting options, we decided to keep it simple. At our server's suggestion, we started with the jerk rolls, and wow--they were bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I ordered shrimp and grits with a side of fried chicken, and every bite was savory, satisfying, and filling. Around the table, we also enjoyed the salmon salad and a pasta dish, both of which earned rave reviews from my friends. Everyone left happy (and full), and I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their breakfast menu. If you're thinking of stopping by, don't hesitate--this spot is worth it!

I love Poach Social and it's not just the food, it's the parking, the cleanliness, and the service which added this to a special list for me. I decided to stop in for Poach Social with a last minute reservation for my birthday and I am so happy I did. There is a small parking lot attached to their building and street parking around the area if needed. Our server was the sweetest and was extremely knowledgeable about the owners + chef which added a deeper layer of appreciation for the food! See below for the reviews but please know, I will be back for more! Apps: * Avocado Toast 8/10: I loved everything about this toast, just wish the bread was a bit more toasty because they pile the toppings on which I love! * Honey Fire Glazed Shrimp 10/10: nice, big shrimp with a crispy coating & a delicious glaze that wasn't too sweet! * Salmon Polenta 100/10: babyyyy, the polenta was absolutely delicious! It was creamy, thick and didn't need an ounce of additional seasoning which a lot of places need for grit or polenta dishes so I was pleasantly surprised! * Smoked Salmon Avocado Tower 9/10: same critique for the avocado toast, just a bit more toasted & it would be perfect for me Drinks: * Blueberry Mimosa Carafe 10/10: love that it was fresh blueberry & not a super sweet syrup * One Love Shots (complimentary for birthday) 10/10: so fresh, flavors were layered and I loved the servers knowledge or various properties of the hibiscus flower All in all...come. Just come. I can't stress it enough!

I will preface this review by saying we visited Poach Social smackdab during the 4-night Beyonce tour in ATL. Being a Black owned spot, the Beyhive was fully present. While PS is a small, neighborhood spot, I think they had maybe five people working there, including the chef(s) and bartender. Equally sparse is the parking. While luck was on our side and we managed to snag a spot right in the front, most may struggle finding somewhere to fit their car along the narrow-ish adjacent neighborhood streets. The menu advises that waits can be long, and that is honest truth. Everything took a while, from getting water to ordering. The host was also acting as our server and in-between food runner as well. He was as attentive as possible considering the crowd and the lack of hands, and we were far more sympathetic for him than upset with the delays in service. We started with the espresso cocktails, which were absolutely delicious. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado tower and split the French toast and chicken with my wife. The French toast had a great flavor with a custardy inside, and the chicken was moist and well cooked. My cousin's shrimp and grits was flavorful too and she enjoyed it. Unfortunately, they brought me an avocado toast instead of the salmon tower. The server offered to add a side of salmon which would make it "pretty much the same," but that it would take a while. The two dishes were actually very different per the menu, but I agreed for the sake of ease. By the time we had eaten and were ready for the check, the salmon hadn't even arrived so I just ate the toast. The server offered to box the salmon up for me to go, but I didnt want it at that point. With most of the patrons there for the concert and Beyonce's best playing in the background, it was a fun vibe. None of us were very hungry, so waiting was bearable. I hope the restaurant can do well and get more help to ease service. So if you've got the patience, Poach Social is worth a shot.

Don't think they serve these wings anymore but the were like Thai Chili wings

The service? Meh...at first The food? Yummy yummy in my tummy The waitress? An overworked gem We showed up without a reservation and were told it would be about a 20 minute wait which wasn't bad because we actually got seated quicker than expected, which felt like a win. From there, things kind of went downhill. We we were told our waitress would be right with us. She was not. No menus, no water, no nothing for what felt like forever....in total about 25 minutes. Turns out, our waitress was doubling as the bartender and doing a million other things. She swung by once to say she'd be right back, but then disappeared into the restaurant. Meanwhile, we watched the other tables get all the attention. Some even got their food before we got water. Finally, the host came over with some water and said she'd go find our waitress. Not exactly a warm welcome for first-timers, but we were hanging on. When our waitress did arrive, she completely turned things around. She was funny, friendly, and totally knew the menu. She made solid recommendations including a drink I liked so much I ordered it twice. No pen or pad, just took our order from memory like a pro. Food came, and it was so good! Like make you forget, you were han good. The jerk eggrolls, fire! The wings, crispy and flavorful and the French toast was a whole vibe. Yeah, I'll definitely be back. Just maybe don't seat me until somebody's ready to serve me because once I get hangry it's a wrap.

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.
