Mambo Zombi is such a cute bar! Went there with friends and it was a bit quieter inside than I imagined, but still had a good time. Tried three drinks (can't remember the names, but they were tasty!). Downstairs they had Selena night going on, that was fun! Everyone was dancing and having a great time. I'd consider coming back for another event or to pre-game with friends. It's a cool vibe and the potential for some fun nights out.

Hard to find. It is a speakeasy. Once u find the address, go upstairs and enter the coffin. Menu is minimal but I ordered Ensalada de Pollo, the blandest chicken salad ever. Right before I started complaining, my friend asked for Tajin and saved the day. Eat before you come and just vibe with the drinks.

I had one of the best drinks I've had in years right here at Mambo Zambi. I ordered from her menu throwing caution to the wind and fate brought home a winner. Here's a hidden gem that keeps on giving. Downstairs in the patio garden they have pop-up restaurants that offer delectable dishes from all over the world. The bartenders was knowledgeable, kind, multitasking mixologist. I didn't think she fit into the theme at first but her sleeve & tattooed knuckles told their own tales and with that Mambo Zombi became my real life Cheers

So I don't know if I would call it a speakeasy necessarily, I don't know if I would not either, but it was a decent little vibe. It's a very small situation so you come in and you have some seating area and a bar but it feels like you can't really fit a A lot of people at one time. Regardless of the fact I still think it's worth at least checking out if you are in the Edgewood area. Now just so you know if you don't know this place exists you would walk right past it. It's on top of the Georgia beer garden so you have to walk up some steps to get to it. But at the same time, there are a couple of signs that would help you with that. There's a lot of rum and a lot of tequila so if that's what you're into then this is probably the place you should investigate. I tried the margarita, it was actually pretty decent. Not the best margarita, but it had a little interesting spin to it. The bartenders was nice and explained the ins and outs of the menu so I thought that was good. It's a place you would go to if you had a small group of people, it depends on what night you go but if you had maybe six to eight people that would probably be enough. There is seating but not a whole lot but if you want a smaller intimate kind of setting then this would probably be a good move. I'll bet that this really went off on Cinco de Mayo because of all the skeleton decorations! I was glad I tried it. I wouldn't run back to it, but if it was something I was going to happen throughout the night, I'd be okay with it as well. I would definitely give another shot I had a good experience there. It didn't knock me on my feet but I was pleased.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit here! I didn't stay long due to the water main break in Atlanta but my short time was great. The bartender Keisha was very professional and knowledgeable about mezcal and the options they have behind the bar. She suggested that I try their mezcal flight and loved it! She picked out 3 different mezcals all ranging from mild to more dry. She was informative and I learned a lot from her. The decor is colorful and eclectic which is right up my alley. I love that it is secluded and private. I will def be back!

Mambo Zombi is SUCH a fun vibe, whether you're here for one drink after dinner, just starting your night, or making it your last stop! We came in at about 10pm on a Saturday and there was a short wait to get in because the place was packed. It's pretty small inside -- four little seating areas for 4-6 people each, four (maybe five?) small high tables, and then a large bar area. Despite being busy, it was easy to get orders in at the bar without pushing through crowds of people. The bartenders were friendly, fun, and QUICK with service which was awesome. I ordered the Monkey Screwed which came out on fire (from 151 rum in a lime) -- unexpected, but always fun! I also tried the Rum Ting Ting which had Jamaican rum + mango and curry leaf shrub. This was my fav drink of the night! I also tried my friend's Singapore Sling which was great and the Monkey See (no longer on the menu but available upon request) which was a little too boozy for my taste but well-balanced especially if you're into amaro. Wish they had tepache on the menu when I visited, but will be keeping my eyes out for it! Overall, a high-energy tiki bar that I would certainly recommend!

Ambiance is super cool and cool concept don't let the neighborhood scare you all my drinks were cool

A perfect place to grab an upscale cocktail with friends. There is a relatively large selection of creative hand crafted cocktails, and the atmosphere is the perfect mixture of places to lounge and things to look at.

I love a themed venue and an artisan cocktail so when I heard about this spot, I just couldn't wait to go. Ambiance: My sister and I were told this spot is small and to arrive early on a Saturday night. We decided to arrive shortly after opening. We got there around 6:40 p.m. and walked right up the stairs running along the side of Beer Garden to access the place. At 6:40 p.m., it was already moderately full. Everything in there is themed. From the menu being named the "Book of Life," to the skull chandeliers and the entryway that looks like an old school tufted coffin. There's plants and cozy seating areas and a row of barstools that line the bar. On the bar there's a basket of fresh fruits used to make various zest and garnishments for the drinks. The bar is stocked with liquors that aren't your standard run of the mill b.s. or well known celebrity backed spirits...real cocktail enthusiast know what's up! There's candles lit everywhere so you feel your entering a séance. It's quite impressive. It is even smaller than it appears online. I'd estimate only 30 people can be in there at once. Service: the bar was staffed by one bartender/the owner and while she very friendly and pleasant, because these cocktails are art, it took awhile to churn out drinks. Which brings me to my favorite part.... The Cocktails: We aren't talking about drinks made by just pouring liquor and mixers into a shaker, We're talking cocktails that are set on fire, have multiple housemade fresh mixers and zest, have real $20 a jar maraschino cherries skewered on bamboo drink picks, golden skull drink picks, and drinks that ignite when sprinkled with cinnamon or sugar as if you're witnessing witchcraft. They are beautiful and very delicious, served in glasses unique to the drink, and not overly sweet so you get to really taste the essence of the drink. We got the Singapore sling, rum ting ting, and something else that was garnished with a hibiscus flower. Each cocktail was between $11-$15 which is not bad considering the level of artistry and quality of these cocktails...and yes I keep saying cocktails because these cocktails are saddity broads that don't deserve to be called drinks lol It's a great "first stop" on a night of bar hopping. Edgewood parking is always the worst and it's all pretty sketchy so the earlier you come the better. If you come early, catch some street parking near by and use the park mobile app to make sure you don't get booted. Summary: unique themed bar that makes cocktails that are definitely art. Reasonably priced cocktails for the quality. Very small venue so arrive early, parking that is sketchy and probably not easy to come by because it's Edgewood. Bring friends who won't embarrass you because they think Ciroc is high end vodka. Be prepared to wait on your drink...it's not a vodka and tonic.

Ask the Community - Mambo Zombi

    Is it family friendly?

    No, this is a bar.

    Do they serve snacks?

No they do not but you can grab snacks across the street

I heard this place is relatively small and has capacity for 50 people. How hard is it to get into this place at 8pm on a Saturday? Is there a way to make reservations? There's no number or website.

8pm is early enough that you should be good! I came at 10pm on a Saturday and had a short wait (like 5 mins). No reservations!

The entrance code can be obtained from their website or local hotel concierges. Dial the number on the antique phone and the door magically opens. The staff super friendly and helpful. The bartenders are the best, clearly passionate about their work. I highly encourage you to try one or several of their signature cocktails. I sampled the Left Bank Martini and Vesper. As expected they are fully stocked with Pappy Bourbon, hard to find Amaro Noni. Ask a bartender about the ice block. The place is spacious unlike other speakeasys I've been to. Lots of niche areas with couch reservations, pool table available. No time for a cigar but that is on my list when I return. Food available from their upstairs sister restaurant.

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.

This year the drinks were blah, the food was mediocre, the vibe was non-existent, and the service was the bare minimal. I have been to other pop-ups this year and would recommend any of them over this include Rreal Taco down the street or Hamp & Harry's or even just picking up the Grinch Happy Meal at McDonald's. Pros: Parking onsite, Reservations (sort of), friendly host (best part of the experience) and server (but absent), nice decorations. Cons: Expensive, boring drinks, overcooked and poorly plated food, not a lively nor festive vibe, poor communication and customer service. Even though this is the only pop-up pre-charging for their event and it was significantly more than a year ago, we liked having a booked time and it was a great experience previously so we booked in early November, but within an hour of booking, we had to adjust the time via OpenTable to a couple hours later. Faster forward to two days before our booking. Confirmations comes in and we notice it is the old time. Called, left messages, send messages through multiple means. Zero response. Called the next day and finally reached the manager who said that the time we wanted wasn't available even though it was the day before so took a later option at 730. Arrive on time but they don't have a table. While waiting they seat us in another area and offer extras since they are late...but they bring chips and salsa 30 mins after 730 when we were supposed to be seat 10-15 mins after we arrive. No waters or anything. Bring complementary margaritas at 810 but only 4 and there are 6 of us. The waitress was dismissive and there was no one else in the bar when we got there. Finally seated at 830 even though they are timed reservations and said they were going to be asking people to wrap within 15 mins of 730. Food was so basic and slapped on the table. Drinks were not festive at all. Ran out of hot chocolate. No festive cups or anything. It was the most mediocre experience I have had. Skip it!
