I've seen this place all over social media and was excited to try it out. It's located in Marietta square so there is free street parking and paid lots around. So I was wandering around Marietta around the square area after an event and I happened to see this spot. It's on a list of hidden bars and speakeasies that I have. Not. The funny part is, it's kind of hard to find the door because it doesn't look like much of a door, but once you get in, it's very lively. Not the same thing you would think of when you think of a speakeasy. Also just to note, you are walking along the street and you see the garage doors open and many people out at tables and a live band, so it's not super hidden at all LOL. You come in and you either see it inside or outside. You come in and the waitress finds you. I ended up getting an old fashioned it had bakers, my first suggestion of an old fashioned was for Jameson because I like James appeared but they didn't have it, which was really weird. The person I was with also said that they didn't have something like Tito's, which everybody has so it's really weird on what they stocked back there but that's not the end of the world. The drinks were pretty good overall, nothing amazing or crazy but decent. Now the night that I went was a very nice night so they had all of the doors open so you could sit inside and outside and you can still see the entertainment. The entertainment was pretty good, they had a cover band type situation and they played of various number of songs and different genres of music. It was a vibe. Now if you wanted to sit there and have an intimate conversation, this was probably not the best place for that to be outside. But if you just want to catch the music, this was good. And seats on the inside right in front of the bar. It's inside so you don't actually have the music floating over you while you're talking and it's kind of a couch and seat situation. So you get a little more comfortability if you wanted to talk to somebody and be able to hear them. It's very dark and intimate so you can definitely do that. You can't miss this spot because if you're going to the bathroom you see it right in front of the bar. Overall, I thought it was a pretty decent experience. I was really kind of bummed at the fact that they didn't have Cora liquors that everybody has at the bar, but we make the best of it. And the music, I would definitely go back and see what else they had in store. Honestly. I might look on their page just to see what bands or what live entertainment they are going to have and try it again. And your at the Marietta square so there's plenty of stuff around there if you wanted to hop from bar to bar. read more

I am so shocked I didn't give this review when I was sitting at the table. I heard about this place from a friend of mine who we were supposed to visit together, but just never got around to it. Since this year I am trying to get out a lot more. I came across it when I was just bored in the city and was like hey I like the crafted drinks that they have to offer. We were lucky to find a spot on the street not too far. We didn't understand why we needed to enter through the back, but I'm glad I saw that in a review before we got there. The ambiance of the area near the bar seemed cool but the ambiance of the room with tables was nothing special. They opened the big garage door to set up outside and it was SO cold. We tried two drinks each. The red sangria was really good and the Church Street Spritz was alright. My friend didn't see crazy about the Angry Eye but liked the Smoothie King Kong. Cocktail prices always seem wild to me but they were probably comparable to most of the bars in the area. There were several waitresses coming around and checking on us which was nice. I stopped by here for a college event and am so happy to have attended! I had no idea this speakeasy existed until I came to this event. The entrance is off to the side, and there is plenty of seating outside and inside as well. Their inside space is private and can be closed off like it was for this event. I really liked the variety of drinks on the menu including nonalcoholic beverages! I went with the bearcat which came highly recommended and was garnished with mint. There are also a few food items on the menu if you want to snack on something. They do have live music and there is a parking lot located across from this place, but it does fill up quickly. Came here randomly last night because we were in the area and had heard good things. They have a seasonal list of craft cocktails, as well as a couple of mocktails and the ability to make a lot of classic cocktails with their full bar as well. I got the Let The Night BeGin (Gin, Herbal Liqueur, Montenegro, Orange, Bitters Blend) which was very herby and despite having gin, was very reminiscent of an old fashioned. My friend got the Thru Hiker (Gin, Fennel, Lime, Thyme Syrup) which smelled like lasagna bc of the thyme syrup. It was a very savory cocktail that tasted like being in an Italian deli. Very unique! My other friend got the Port Of Call (Rye, Apple, Madeira, Cinnamon, Pomegranate) which tasted like an adult apple cider in the best way. Only wish they wouldn't have changed the area in the bar room reducing the room for fewer customers to enjoy a drink. We went to Third Door last night, and had an amazing experience, as always! The service was fantastic, the drinks were tasty, and the band was great. They were taking requests for songs, so that was really fun. If you're there during the live music, they do add a $5 cover to your tab. The drinks we tried this time were Home Sweet Home and Gatecrasher. Then we ordered a second drink based off of our server's recommendation, so I don't know what mine was called, but it was a very sweet drink served with champagne on the side. read more

I held my wedding reception here in September and could not be happier with the experience that I, my husband, and all of our guests had. A HUGE shoutout to Lydia, the events coordinator, for helping put together such a wonderful event. From the beginning, she helped us at every step. It was truly a stress-free night because Lydia and her team handled everything. The venue space, both indoors and outdoors, is absolutely perfect and I would highly recommend The Third Door to anyone and everyone looking to host their next event. The Third Door is a great vibe! My friend and I wanted to get some drinks so I yelped and The Third Door had such wonderful reviews. We were in the Cumberland Mall area so it didn't take us long to get to Marietta. When we walked in we were greeted with a friendly welcome and told we could sit anywhere. So we opted to sit in the garage area. A little fun fact about this place, it used to be a gas station and was converted into this amazing craft cocktail bar but they kept the original layout, which I think is quite charming. I ordered the Spritz and Giggles and helped my friend finish off her drink, whose name escapes me but see pics attached. The Spritz and Giggles is a very refreshing drink, especially if you like bubbles. It is light and airy and not overpowered by the Gin or Bubbly which is hard thing to accomplish. It makes for an excellent Spring/Summer cocktail. I truly enjoyed both drinks and would love to try more of their drink menu. Let me say that the service here is top notch. Ki is an amazing craftswoman and is one of the best mixologists I've met in the Atlanta area. She's friendly and shows true passion for what she does and it shines through in her cocktails. And to add to that, Coti (pronounced Cody) was a an amazing server. His vast knowledge of the cocktails, liquor, and ingredients make your visit more that worth it. He makes you want to be a regular and if I lived closer I would definitely make this place my go to for afterwork drinks or pregame before a meal. And if they were able to serve food, I would be here at least once a week. They do offer chips to go with your cocktail but even still this place is a great place to unwine, pun intended. The service was horrible. The manager treated us with contempt and disrespect as he cleared our drinks far too fast, as my friends and I briefly stood up to listen to the music outdoors. We informed our waitress beforehand and they cleared our drinks away in a matter of minutes. The manager had the audacity to ask how our drinks were, as he if had not instructed his staff to clear them away from our table, not so much offering to remake them as he saw our confused faces, not give us a refund when we voiced our issue to him. The hubs and I used to live in a hot spot in Austin, TX that was a wildly popular spot for craft cocktail bars and swanky restaurants. The Third Door would neatly stack up nicely to their collection of craft cocktail bars, but selfishly, now that we're back "in the burbs," I feel like this is the closest thing we've got. That's said without snark or disdain. Better yet, now that we're lowly parents trying to navigate "the burbs" with a toddler in tow, my biggest love about this place is their patience for our little one. Craft, unique cocktails, totally for the win. Caring. Adorable staff for the win - definitely. Our daughter dotes on Patrick and also will call out Cody's name any time we can walk past the bar! That's all to say because the staff are insanely attentive, intelligent and accommodating. As locals, we're proud to make this our "regular" spot. Furthermore, I adore what they've done to acclimate themselves to the "neighborhood". Just recently, they invited all of the all-star bartenders from the Marietta Square area to compete in a cocktail takeover, which I think is such an amazing way to be the "new kids" while trying to assimilate all of the locals. Seriously brilliant. Beyond that, I freaking love that they're taking over their own menu this month (December) to celebrate the season. The cocktail menu is pretty limited for today's speakeasy. There are only 6-7 cocktails on the menu. Yes, there's a full bar where they can make anything, which is rad. But as someone who likes to experiment with different cocktails, I'd appreciate a larger menu. 3 stars is not a bad rating. This bar is definitely worthy of a stop in. It just didn't blow me away. If you go on a weekday it would be very easy to find street parking, however on a friday/saturday you might need to circle around a few times to park. There has always been live music which adds to the atmosphere. The drinks are a little pricey, ranging from $13-$16, however they are quite good and strong. I have tried the Zachary which is a Mezcal cucumber drink and Lady Love which was vodka based, both equally good. I have also heard you can ask the bartender to make a unique cocktail that is not on the menu but have not tried it myself. Definitely a really cool place to check out! read more

A new speakeasy has made its way to Marietta and has quickly become my new watering hole. This spot has many different atmospheres that can accommodate a date, a girls' weekday wine down or catching those last patio vibes before the end of summer. All the staff wear masks as a Covid precaution and seating is spaced as to keep to the social distancing guidelines. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Our server Madison was awesome and gave great recommendations considering our favorite traditional drinks. To enter speakeasy style, follow the entrance to the side and you will find a ramp leading to a black door. Enter and you will be met with a host of prohibition style motifs and the bar. What a special Friday night! Our family had never heard of The Third Door until we were gifted the Cocktail Experience. As part of the experience, you get to sit in a renovated trailer out on the patio, and the servers take your order there. It's such a fun, unique experience. Once you come in, you have to mention the 'secret words' to be seated which gave it a cool vibe right off the top. The environment was top-notch and they usually have different live bands. We got lucky with Funk Cake band last night. We had the last time slot for the trailer so after we were done, we danced the night away with the live music. 10/10 recommend... we'll be back! read more

Absolutely outstanding cocktails with amazing ingredients. I'm partial to a great gin and tonic, it's the European in me. For me the hardest thing to get is decent tonight in American bars. In Europe we call our tonic. This as you can see is garnished with fresh rosemary and a dried line. I'm the colour is from beets. It was soooooooo good. I had to be doubly sure twice. I had four. We arrived around 6. By 7pm a live band was setting up. The atmosphere was chilled and the clientele a mix of office people after work to locals walking around. Parking sucks in general in this area but we were lucky. Come early is my advice. Our server was Bridget and she was excellent and really lovely. The entrance is at the back and their description will tell you why. The little inside bar to lovely and the bathrooms are tastefully decorated and spotless. I always judge a place by its bathrooms. I went here tonight with my girlfriends and family. My mother had made a reservation for the one of the trailers. We were sat down and were later informed that we didn't have a reservation; my mother then pulled up her confirmation number that was made over a MONTH ago. They said that they had a system reboot and that we were no longer in the system. The server informed us that we needed to leave immediately. So, we decided to start our evening here, grab a cocktail and an app. We were there around 5:15-5:30 on a Saturday night. We figured we'd beat the crowd. Very nice, new waiter took our drink orders. The musician for the evening was warming up. All good. We figured we'd hang out for a while, snack, listen to some music. When we asked about the appetizers, our waiter told us that the only thing they had left was one order of pimento cheese. What? Apparently Friday had been a busy day and they ran out of food. . They only offer a cheese plate, a hummus plate and a pimento plate as it is! How can you run out of food for the rest of the weekend?! They need to figure this out. Huge fan of Third Door! They have 6 or so specialty cocktails that they change up pretty frequently, but also make delicious classic cocktails--my mom swears they make the best mojito on the Square. So, if you're not interested in their speciality drinks, just ask for one of your favorites and they're typically more than willing to make it for you. The atmosphere is great and they often have live music for a cover charge and it's always worth it! Also, the bartenders and servers here rock! We've been coming here for over a year now and Third Door never misses. Keep your eyes pealed for one of their Wise Up Wednesday classes, they're super fun and a great value. read more

What a great find! My husband and I decided to go to the square for dinner 2 weeks ago and as we pulled up I saw a live band and immediately shouted "STOP THE CAR! LIVE MUSIC!" We went in and quickly learned this is a super cool bar, but they don't serve food. We had 2 drinks and went on to dinner. The following week we did things the right way - had dinner and finished off our night at The Third Door. This will be a must stop for every trip to the square. The drinks are great - I've had Home Sweet Home and The Gatecrasher. If you like fruity, tropical drinks Home Sweet Home is as tasty as it is beautiful. If you like Old Fashioneds, the Gatecrasher is as smooth as it gets and has been my favorite so far. The bands we've seen both times were amazing as well. It felt so good to chill and see live music. We stopped into the Third Door after dinner for some cocktails on a Saturday evening around 9, and it had some cool vibes. I love a good speakeasy feel. The cocktails are fun and creative. The service was a bit slow as it seemed there was only one or 2 servers working. Which I guess is common these days with any place. The only downfall of the service was we waited for quite some time to be greeted while tables around us were getting another round. If people have drinks already you should probably grab the newcomers orders first.
