I don't want to go home and forget about this review but this place is way better than i expected thousand times. My prompt to my gpt this morning included "family owned, cozy place, food that hugs you like a grandma after a long time away, etc" this is one of the best places I've been in USA so far. I also woke up idealizing to only try new things and no repeats but I've already ordered a second drink haha I absolutely don't want to leave. As soon as you walk in they greet you and help you out, then the bartender (I came by myself so I sat on the bar) approached me with the most warmth and helped me getting something according to her experience and taste but considering my taste and preferences. The food came (quick for how busy it is 12 min) The food tastes just like a grandmas food that she's been working the entire day on it. I can't wait to be back here. Also I didn't have anything the entire day and couldn't finish my plate because the amount of food is way more than decent. Place is clean, music is great and volume even better, you can see families bringing their babies to enjoy meals here. Was so happy to try this spot in Marrietta! After looking for places, this one kept coming up as highly recommended but reservations were hard to come by. My coworkers and I were able to sneak after a work cocktail/light appetizers so we were still hungry! The inside is SO CUTE! The theme we are so fun and really make for great photo ops. I visited my brother in law & his wife's house 1st time in 20 years. My wife's 70th birthday was March 28th and our reservation was for 6:30pm. We arrived on time and were seated downstairs where the dining area was colorful with Scarecrow and Tin Man and flowers. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The popovers had just been removed from the oven and were excellent. We ordered two appetizers and they were delicious. We ordered two salads to share, two entrees to share, 4 beers, and 4 desserts to go. The oven roasted pork chop was a 10 out of 10. So delicious. The other entree ordered was grilled fish of the day. This restaurant also offered a cash discount for not using plastic and I had not prepared for another cash dinner. This restaurant also has a bar area for diner's and was wall to wall packed. The noise from the bar did not interfere with those in the dining room. This restaurant also has a rooftop or inside penthouse dining area with a separate entrance. This area is much louder and the noise did not interfere with our dining area. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and prepare to have a great time & meal. read more

I had an amazing experience. It was my first visit, and if I were to rate the food, portion sizes, and service, I would give it a solid 9 out of 10. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while but hadn't had the opportunity until now. When I finally did, I made sure to make a reservation. I enjoyed their raw oysters, which I would rate 7 out of 10, the Wagyu Bavette cooked medium well at 8 out of 10, and the shrimp toast, which was a perfect 10 out of 10. We visited during their Harry Potter pop-up and more recently enjoyed the Nutcracker pop-up. The decorations and ambiance at both events were absolutely stunning. While visiting for a convention I stumbled across this restaurant that was highly recommended by other event goers. I was really amped up about their lamb meatballs and was told this is the spot to get a nice dinner. As you walk in you notice all the Whimsy and the restaurant, it's super cute very appropriate for influencers and brunch goers. Service was decent for sitting. Once my waiter Ian came around service improved. I ordered a drink that had Yuzu and egg foam which was very refreshing. I was really shocked that a salad could make so much impact I had the strawberry and goat cheese salad. It was very well balanced and the dressing was perfect for all the mix. I kept looking forward to my lamb meatballs that never came. The pork belly was exceptional, had a good caramelization to it and the Pickled vegetable confit was absolutely complimentary. I really didn't see much parking outside of garage parking near it so that might be a challenge. I may choose to come back and visit and just for the so-called lamb meatballs that were great, I have a bit of fomo.! They do a great job with the decorations, and incorporate the theming into their menu, so we were definitely feeling the Harry Potter vibes. The food was good, as were the drinks, and I particularly enjoyed the French Toast. If I were just paying for the food I'd say the prices were a little high, though not crazy, but I view the up-charge as paying for the theming. Great place nestled In the heart of Marietta. I love the internal decor. Its a lot bigger on the inside than initially anticipated. Plenty of seating for any size party and even private seating for large parties. The food here is fantastic and the drinks are perfectly crafted. Ive been to both their Weekend Brunch service and their weekday dinner service. For brunch, I started with their Cafe Maxim (an espresso martini w/ Cognac!). We shared the deviled eggs as a started. I ordered the Avocado toast, which had perfect portion sizing and left me satisfied. My friend had the Egg and Cheese biscuit. That biscuit was huge and was freshly baked. We ordered 2 flat whites to-go rounding out our experience. For dinner, I brought another date and enjoyed two dirty martinis (which came with hand stuffed blue cheese olives) that were chefs kisses and a bottle of Albarino from the wine list. We shared all of our plates together so we split the Ahi Tuna Tostadas, Goat Cheese Fritters, Lamb Meatballs, Short Rib Dumplings, and finished with the Tableside Smores. We had a wonderful wedding dinner here in a private room for 18. The theme is "campy" so there is lots of casual ambiance. The prix fixe menu offered options but kept the service as simple as possible. Shane was an amazingly friendly and efficient waiter. The filet option was the most popular, but some guests complained that their filet tasted gamey or fishy. The grouper was good but a little salty for my taste. The Harry Potter pop-up is where it's at. Such a cute concept with the decor, special menu and delicious concoctions. We didn't have reservations but there was room at the bar. Reservations fill up fast at this establishment so book early is you have a firm time or larger party. Our server Ian was a delight - he looked like he jumped out of a Harry Potter book! The menu is on theme as well with clever named starters, entrees, cocktails and dessert. We were served the lightest puff pastry or bread to start. Then for starters we had the beef dumplings and lamb meatballs. To drink - an espresso martini and an interesting tequila cocktail that I'll get to later. Dinner was the chicken and my friend had the scallops. I won't repeat the names (you can read their menu) except for my drink. "Let The Brewing Commence" is an experience. You eat a magical flower bud first then let it do its magic. The drink is delightful but the bud takes your senses up a few notches! My highlight was the dessert. This chocolate dream was served in a small terra cotta flower pot. Very assuming but packed with flavor and sends you to heaven. Definitely a star to wrap up our meal. The service, atmosphere and food were outstanding. My only notes are the dumplings could have been a little softer. The chicken was on the dryer side but the sauce and veggies made up for it. I love discovering new restaurants in the Square, and Hamp + Harry's is a great find! There's a new theme each month -- the Harry Potter pop up in October has been the best so far IMO. My girls + I went for brunch and I ordered the brunch burger and Hufflepuff cocktail. The cocktail was... interesting lol. The more I sipped, the more it grew on me, so it was definitely an acquired taste. The burger was OK, but a little on the salty side. Overall, the menu is unique with lots of variety, depending on your palate. I found some items to be a bit pricey though, especially considering the portion sizes. Last bit of advice: This place gets crowded FAST, so I'd recommend booking ahead of time. On my most recent visit, my friend and I had to wait despite having a reservation and once seated, we learned there was a 2 hour-limit. In all, I'll be back to try something new since the menu changes pretty regularly. read more

$$-$$$ I just had the most wonderful time at Hamp & Harry's in Marietta, Georgia. It takes a lot for me to give five stars to any place, but this restaurant was a great deal of fun, and the food was absolutely delicious. Two of my very good friends, Melody and Jessica, took me to brunch at this establishment with the theme of Harry Potter. The food choices were small, but perfectly proportioned, and our server, Zoe, was extremely friendly and attentive. As you can see from the photos posted here, the place was decorated with a Harry Potter theme and it was a great deal of fun to walk around and check things out. One of the smaller dining rooms was decorated with crystal balls on the tables. Everything we ordered was very well prepared and extremely delicious. Hamp and Harry's change the theme of their restaurant once a quarter. So, it is a lot of fun to see what comes next. I absolutely recommend this restaurant if your journey takes you through Marietta,, Georgia. You will need to have a reservation as it is a very popular place. If you had told me I'd be toasting my new husband in full Harry Potter regalia at a Marietta pub just minutes after saying "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" (also known as wedding vows at the Cobb County Courthouse), I might've laughed. Warm, welcoming, and completely unbothered that a table of wand-wielding newlyweds had apparated into their restaurant. They leaned right into the fun, making us feel like VIPs at the Three Broomsticks. And the food and drinks? Let's just say every bite was a charm that worked perfectly. My taste buds were doing a happy dance, no Felix Felicis required. In a world full of ordinary taverns, Hamp & Harry's stands out as a truly magical experience. We came here specifically for the Harry Potter theme. I had tried to get a reservation for weeks for brunch and dinner and it was always full. I looked online an hour before and there was a reservation available for our party of 4! Someone must have canceled. We raced over there and was seated immediately in the main dining area with the bar. The decorations were amazing and this room had more/better decorations than the side room in my opinion. There were even decorations in the bathroom. We started with the beef tartare and it was good. The raw egg on top I could have done without. The focaccia bread it came with was great though. For my entree, I had the Devils Snare Pasta, which was a squid ink bucatini that was cooked perfectly al dente. There was a good amount of calamari and the calabrian chili cream was amazing! It had a nice kick, and didn't feel too heavy with the sauce. All the ingredients were perfectly ratioed. The service was great and they gave my kids their drinks in a caldron to fit the theme. For dessert, we had the "Ravenclaw" creme brulee, which was a peaflower filling that was so delicious and a perfect wya to end the meal. read more

We went for brunch on a Sunday, I thought the biscuit sandwich and salad were excellent! My daughter didn't love the French toast but I think it just wasn't what she was expecting. I have to say too that our server was Amazing...so kind to us and it was just me and my 2 girls. We weren't big eaters, weren't getting the fancy cocktails but still gave us wonderful service and I would come back again just for the overall excellent experience. This restaurant is not close to me but well worth checking out especially since they do different themes seasonally and think the next one is the Wizard of Oz. We visited for brunch around 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 1st. The restaurant was nearly empty, with more staff present than customers, yet service was surprisingly slow. It took quite a while to receive water, drinks, and overall attention, which was disappointing given how quiet the space was. The cocktail prices were extremely high, and while they appear to aim for a "craft" or upscale approach, the flavor combinations were odd and unbalanced. Three out of the four of us left more than half of our cocktails untouched because they were overwhelmingly sweet. The food was equally disappointing. One person ordered the chicken sausage hash with eggs over medium, and the eggs were essentially undercooked. The same issue occurred with the egg on the avocado toast. In addition, the food was excessively salty--so much so that one dish was sent back entirely, and the remaining three plates were mostly left uneaten. Given the price point versus what was actually enjoyable or edible, the experience was extremely poor. To make matters worse, no manager came by to address the situation, and the server appeared noticeably unconcerned despite the obvious dissatisfaction at the table. This restaurant receives a lot of attention for its holiday pop-up, but the experience didn't live up to the hype. The décor and concept are fine--pleasant, but not exceptional--and certainly not enough to outweigh the service issues. The biggest disappointment was the bar staff. The bartender we interacted with came across as rude, arrogant, and visibly irritated by guests. We fully intended to stay for drinks and dinner, but the atmosphere made us feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than customers. What was especially uncomfortable was hearing the bartender complain loudly to other diners about the Christmas music and how much he couldn't wait for the holiday season to be over. During a holiday-themed pop-up, that kind of commentary felt wildly out of place and made the surrounding guests uncomfortable. If this establishment invested more in staff training and professionalism, the experience could match the publicity it receives. As it stands, the holiday hype far exceeds the execution. read more

Before we even sat down the waitress announced that we had a limited time to eat despite the fact we had a reservation???? We came here because of a recommendation. We first ordered the deviled eggs. OMG they were so salty/not edible. This was even after I scraped the caviar off. The rest of our party agreed after one bite that it had to go back. The avocado toast was so hard we had to scrape the toppings off because you couldn't cut the toast. The Cafe Maxim was very strong and he sipped it over the entire meal. The shrimp and grits were way too salty. This from a family member who had been here often and previously ordered and enjoyed it. The chicken dip was just all right. The server never offered a refill on the coffees nor provided the bottle of water she promised she would bring. For spending over $200 I don't plan to return. read more

From the outside, it looked very rustic. Inside, it's beautiful. Very modern, airy decor greets you as soon as you walk in. Staff is super friendly. We ordered several small plates and a salad each. My sister got a Caesar salad and I got the spiced apple salad. Both were good but the Caesar was drowning in salad dressing. The chargrilled ahi tuna dish....I will dream about it for years. It was tender but the flavor profile can't be described. That was the best Ahi Tuna I've ever had....PERIOD! I could eat it every day. The dumplings could have been phenomenal too except the dumplings were a little chewy. The meat was flavorful but the dumpling was not tasty. The okra was good. It was a lot of it and sadly I was too full to truly enjoy it. I ordered a Tom Collins and it was a great drink and very good accompaniment to my food. Well worth the visit. read more

So I have to tell you about the experience that we had inside this place. I've been here for lunch on more than one occasion, I've had a really good lunch. Sandwich are really good. So we decided to come in for dinner, well, that was a different experience on itself. The menu was completely different than the lunch menu, with overpriced high ticket items on there. We got the appetizers, which were the burnt ends, that had a very soapy flavor to them, just not even sure what to say, but very chemically could not eat those. Then we ordered the cabbage steak, never heard of it, that was an experience for sure. And we ordered the dumplings as well, which tasted like they wrapped up sand and grit inside the dumpling shells. So at that point the night did not start off too well. Got the main course and it was a $24 Smashburger, which was the size of a slider. I was just floored, and it wasn't even that good. Bottom line, this place thinks that it's a Buckhead restaurant when in all actuality it's not, dinner menu is not the greatest with very limited items, and they're all overpriced. So at the end of the day, if you want a good place to go to lunch, do it, if you want a good place to go to dinner go someplace else. There are better places to go in the square, so I would avoid H&H. Do not go to this restaurant! And if you do, absolutely do not send anything back to the kitchen. On 2/8/26, I dined here with a small group to celebrate my wife's birthday. One guest ordered a kale salad and was upsold by our server, Erin, to add grilled shrimp. The salad arrived with shrimp that were clearly not grilled. When this was politely mentioned, Erin gave our guest a hard time before reluctantly sending it back to the kitchen. What came back was shocking. The shrimp were aggressively pan-fried in vegetable oil, overloaded with salt, and had a harsh chemical taste consistent with baking soda. It was completely inedible. This did not feel like a mistake--it felt intentional. No competent kitchen sends food out like that by accident. A restaurant that treats guests this way doesn't deserve repeat business. Hamp & Harry's rates somewhere between four and five stars for me. This is a New American restaurant and bar with great food, drink, service, and ambiance. They have live music too. This is currently one of my top three restaurants at Marietta Square: (1) Spring, (2) Mac's Chophouse, and (3) Hamp & Harry's. As a regular visitor since 2001, I noticed the Square's dining scene improved after the opening of Spring in 2016. Many new businesses followed including Marietta Square Market in March 2019, Mac's in June 2020, and Hamp & Harry's in December 2021. Hamp & Harry's replaced spaces most recently occupied by Bramble Bar & Kitchen and Low T Nation. Before Bramble, it was Jack's New Yorker Deli. Jack's closed in 2020. The Jack's/Bramble space is where Hamp & Harry's started. Then, in late summer/early fall 2023, they expanded into the former Low T space next door. "Hamp & Harry's" is a reference to the middle names of the owners, Scott "Hampton" McCray and Scott "Harrison" Kerns. These are the same guys behind local chain McCray's Tavern and other metro Atlanta restaurants like The Mill Kitchen & Bar in downtown Roswell. Free parking is available on and around Marietta Square and surrounding streets. There are also several free and paid parking lots and decks within a few blocks of the restaurant. The most convenient parking is the paid surface lot behind the restaurant. We got lucky and got a free street spot right in front of the restaurant. The owners have done a nice job with the space. The centerpiece is a large illuminated bar. It's tall, wide, well-stocked, and almost reaches the ceiling. The interior design is a mix of traditional and modern. For example, traditional and rustic in the exposed brick walls of the old building. Modern in the hanging florals, which has been a trendy Instagram/TikTok thing for restaurants in the last few years. Inside, there are multiple rooms. Outside, they have a cute sidewalk patio as well as a cocktail window where you can order cocktails. Reservations are recommended. Book on OpenTable. Unfortunately, Hamp & Harry's did not award points when I booked. During our Friday night visit, it was packed and loud. Loud because of all the people (room acoustics) and the music. This is one of those places where everyone has to talk loudly at each other. The atmosphere can be described as an elevated, classier bar and grill. This can be a fun date spot, but if you're looking for a place with a quieter, more intimate ambiance, this is not it. I came with a party of five and we had a good time. We were seated at one of the long high-tops by the bar. Below is a list of most of what we ordered. It should give you an idea of what this place has to offer and the cost. In hindsight, another raw item I wish we'd gotten were the Ahi Tuna Tostadas ($19). Next time. The Fried Okra was a well-executed fusion of Southern and Mediterranean cuisines. Hamp & Harry's gets their beef from Meats by Linz, outside of Chicago. The meat is top notch. I loved my filet, which I ordered medium rare. It was incredibly flavorful and tender, and an all-around terrific, high-quality steak. Other Atlanta restaurants I've been to that source from Meats by Linz include Marcel, Little Alley Steakhouse, and Foundation Social Eatery. I really enjoyed The Starry Night cocktail. The egg white made the drink frothy and creamy, and deceptively strong. The standout dessert was the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse. Wow. It was wonderfully rich, sweet, and smooth. Hamp & Harry's is located at the Marietta Square off Roswell Street. They have live music upstairs from Thursday to Saturday. It's called High Note in the upstairs portion. We went on a Sunday, and they had a nice musical mix playing. There is free parking around the square along with lots. We got lucky with one right in front of the restaurant. There wasn't a big crowd, so we were seated immediately. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. We arrived during their Happy Hour time frame. We were seated at the high tops in between the bar and the booths along the back wall. Loved the decor inside the restaurant. It had a fun, laid-back vibe. Music was playing but just right so you can have a convo and not hear everyone around you speaking. Our waitress was friendly and did a great job offering suggestions. We got a small sample of the frozen drinks to see if we wanted them. My friend got the Summet Glow. I passed and got the H&H version of an old fashion. They call " The Rookie" and had the option of getting it smoked. Love that!! My friend ordered the Special Burger of the day. A classic smash burger with traditional toppings along with bacon jam and a Japanese mayo on the said. It came with a sauce that was really good to dip fries in. I got the H&H salad with the jerk chicken and house buttermilk ranch dressing. The jerk chicken was flavorful and well seasoned with a decent amount of sauce but not spicy. It didn't have the traditional jerk chicken flavor buy really good. My salad ingredients tasted and looked fresh. Love that!! No complaints. My plate was clean at the end. Definitely would like to come back for brunch on the weekends! The dinner menu looked good. Staff was engaging and friendly. Costs were affordable. Free parking. read more

This experience was just wonderful. Hamp & Harry's hosts themed movie nights in their upstairs venue space, and the execution was outstanding. The food and cocktails were incredible, the service was excellent as the wait staff was thoroughly committed to the bit, and the theming and decorations were top notch and done with an impressive combination of care and attention to detail. Their cocktails (I had dirty martinis) were awesome, and the food was so fresh and delicious. The staff were so attentive and friendly. My young daughter and I dined here for the nutcracker pop up and really enjoyed it. It's a small spot so reservations are essential (and hard to snag). The inside was so adorable and we loved the Christmas music and vibes. We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was when often pop ups don't shine with the food. Not true here. Came for the Harry Potter pop up and was not disappointed! The decor was awesome and the themed menu was magical!(Sorry. I had to). Ian was our server and his timing was perfect and his suggestions were on point. I had the Fire Breathing Chicken and it was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. My wife had the Gillyweed Salad. The cocktails are super creative and they even have a flavor changing one! H&H is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots. read more

Overall, very good! Yummy flavors and cocktails. I will say the food was very good but the menu seems to change all the time. We went for lunch on a weekday and the menu was not the exact same as what's posted online. So maybe it's a super seasonal menu. It's got a nice ambiance, the food is a little on the pricier side so it's probably more of a special occasion place than a go-to spot. The service was good. We will come again, but only as a small, adults-only group. read more
