Rumi's delivers on food and ambiance. It's a great spot for small parties and larger groups. The chicken is perfectly cooked, service was excellent and a great spot to catch up with folks.
Rumi's Kitchen at Colony Square was a great experience. The food and drinks were both high quality, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The American Wagyu Zabuton Kabob was the highlight for me. The meat was incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It's definitely a dish I would order again. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere that works well for a dinner out in Midtown. Great food, drinks, and overall experience. I'd definitely come back.
When I was in Atlanta for work, I was having Rumi's almost every other week! I seriously wanted this place to come to LA and now, they are! The food here is good & service is consistently good. I love the décor and atmosphere.
This is quite possibly the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been in, and it had excellent service to match. The Crispy Potatoes with Raddichio and Pomegranate Short Ribs are some of my favorite bites of all time. 10/10 meal!
Im a big fan of Persian food & so is my mom, it was a no brainer that we had to check out this place. Let's just say that Rumi's Kitchen exceded our expectations! Let's start of with how beautifully embellished the restaurant is. It's a refined fusion of modern elegance & old-world Persian heritage, that celebrates Persian hospitality & culture. You're greeted by the hostess that radiates warmth and geniality. Once seated you're gifted a complimentary starter Sabzi Plate that includes fresh herbs, feta cheese, walnuts, Castelvetrano olives, crunchy radish, and premium walnuts. It also comes with side of freshly baked Persian flatbread. We ordered a plethora of dishes. Our favorite plates were the hummus [we paired with the mushroom add on], lamb chops, and the Adas Polo rice. Trust me get the Adas Polo rice, it absolutely mouthwatering. As for beverages there is a variety of curated cocktails that we tasted but my top pick had to be the Tehran Mule! As for desserts our favorite was the Persian ice cream sandwich, it has unique flavors with rose being one of them. So good! For parking they offer a combination of valet services and validated garage parking depending on which location you go. The dress code is business casual. It's a perfect place for any accession, I definitely am planning on coming back to try more dishes. Take my word and come check it out! Your taste buds will thank you!
Went there on a busy Sunday evening. The service was good. Our server struggled getting us our second drinks, but that was only due to the place being so crowded. The food was amazing! We had wanted to stay for dessert and tea, but we were so full! Ambiance was nice, although a bit loud, due to how crowded this place was. I can imagine it being even nicer, when it's a bit more quiet. Overall, a great place to eat!
Absolutely loved this location. The food is always amazing and our server was friendly and attentive. We went on a Friday afternoon, so the restaurant was almost empty. Will definitely be back for a weekday lunch.

We had dinner at Rumi's Kitchen at Colony Square in Midtown, and the food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. I've dined at Rumi's original location in Sandy Springs (which opened in 2006), and everything was just as good, if not better, at this location. In my opinion, Rumi's and Yalda are the two best Persian restaurant brands in metro Atlanta. Rumi's has long been the standard, and this Midtown location has been a great addition since it opened on January 24, 2022. Logistics & Parking: We had a party of five with a Wednesday night 6:00 PM reservation. Rumi's is on OpenTable, so I recommend booking there to get 100 points. This place is popular--it was packed during our visit, even for an ordinary weeknight. Parking at Colony Square is expensive. Rumi's validates 50% of the garage fee, but even with that, it cost me $13.50 for just over 2 hours (it would have been $27.00 without it). If you park in the garage, the restaurant entrance faces the busy intersection of Peachtree and 14th, so you'll have to venture back out to get to the front door. Food: We ordered plates to share and each got our own entrees; though I ended up having two entrees. Here's what I tried: Hummus * Green Tahini ($14) - watercress, Urfa chili Eggplant * Kashk Badenjoon ($15) - fried eggplant, cream of whey, crispy onion, mint * Mirza Ghasemi ($15) - smoked eggplant, tomato, garlic Vegetables Crispy Potatoes with Radicchio ($15) - shallot torshi, lemon yogurt Feast * Chicken Barg ($32) - saffron-marinated chicken breast, saffron basmati rice * Roasted Salmon ($38) - salmon fillet, herb basmati rice In addition to the above, we received Sabzi Khordan (traditional Persian herb platter). It contained mint, tarragon, watercress, radish, feta, and walnuts. Everything was fresh and delicious. The kitchen ran like a well-oiled machine. Highlights included the eggplant dishes and salmon; it was one of the best-executed restaurant salmons I've had in recent memory. Ambiance: The vibe works for a business dinner, a date, or a casual meetup with friends (which was our reason for visiting). One of the buddies we met up with said this is one of his favorite restaurants in Atlanta when he's in town for work--that's actually why we chose it. We sat on the enclosed patio, and even though it was a cool evening, it was comfortable and toasty thanks to the heat lamps.
***MAKE SURE YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR COMPLIMENTARY VALET INSTEAD OF PARKING AT COLONY SQUARE*** We had reservations for 8pm and arrived a little earlier so definitely had a bit of a wait even for a normal Tuesday evening. The food smells smack you right in the face as soon as you step in and it smells incredible. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and was as quick as can be with tending to us. The food came out incredibly fast and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant definitely sets the tone for fine dining. The fresh pita at the beginning of our meals was my highlight! It was so warm and made fresh and kept coming out every time we were running low. I wanted to try the smoked salmon hummus but they were out so we settled for the mushroom one and as the biggest mushroom hater, they (unfortunately) won me over. It was probably the best hummus I've ever had in my entire life (no joke). I ordered the salmon kebabs and although it was good, I would say I've had better at other competing restaurants within the same category. My friend ordered the lamb rack and thoroughly enjoyed it!
I don't even where to begin from the moment we walked in the service was great. The ambience of this place is really nice great setting nice to have dinner before heading out for the night. The food was amazing. My friend is actually Persian and was able to pick out quite a few dishes for me to try and I was not disappointed with anything I cannot wait to go back. Special treat was the ice cream sandwiches at the end.
Came in for lunch and sat in the main dining room. As expected quality but I think rice was less this time for some reason. However I still didn't finish all. Lamb w humus was 10/10
Decided to check out Rumi's for my dad's birthday and I'm glad we came! Our waiter was Kayla? (I believe that's her name. She was working with her brother!) and they were both super kind and knowledgeable of the menu. I had tried Persian food before but this was my first time at Rumi's. I really wanted to try the smoked salmon hummus but it was unavailable :( so instead we tried the lamb hummus which was delicious! Lamb and hummus were well seasoned and paired greatly with the bread they provided. Perfect and shareable for a good group of people. For entrees we ate family style and got lamb rack, lamb kebab, and the duck dish. The duck dish came with its own special rice which came with crispy potatoes in them which was a nice touch. The duck was also super good! The sauce had a hint of sweetness due to the cranberry and came with enough duck to eat family style. The star of the show though was the lamb kebab which we got cooked medium well. Delicious! Super juicy and well seasoned. Highly recommend getting that. I honestly thought the lamb kebab was better than the lamb rack. The restaurant also validated valet parking which I thought was great because you get dropped off right in front of the restaurant. Highly recommend checking it out

Valet parking or self-park lot available nearby. Food: 5/5 - highly recommend the hummus, crispy potatoes & falafel for starters. Had an elderflower vodka cocktail (I forget the name) that was light & delicious. Koobideh kabob entree was fantastic. Service: 2/5 - service was a miss here. Hosts & server (didn't introduce herself so I don't have a name) were pretty cold and didn't seem like they even really wanted to be there. Ambiance: 5/5 - stylish restaurant, love the decor and bathrooms. Could see this as a good business lunch/dinner spot or a date night spot. read more

I'd give them 4.5 stars if I could. This was our first time to the Colony Square location. We've been to the original on Roswell Rd & at the Avalon in Alpharetta. Our server told us this location is slightly different than the others. I didn't really see how & as long as the food is the same quality and taste, I'm good. It pretty much was so I was indeed good. We walked on F, 12/5 @ 9ish for dinner. There was ~ a 45 minute wait for the dining room and people did not seem to be leaving from the bar; they looked real comfy lol. There's also seating outside but my husband was able to secure us a table on the serve line right in front of the kitchen. It's a little cool as you're sitting next to the window by the outdoor dining courtyard, but not as cold as outside lol. And you get the benefit of seeing all the good food go out to be served. It's a tight sitting area for 2, but manageable for sure. I just want to know where Rumi's gets there mint. It's always SO fresh. I wouldn't be surprised if they grew their own. It comes with the herbs, feta, walnuts, & radishes they bring out before the meal. We started with the fatoush salad which was good. I liked the toasted flatbread in it for a nice crunch to the salad. Next time I'll ask for the dressing on the side as I like my salad with minimal dressing. The lemon vinaigrette was slightly tangy, but light. It was large enough for us to share, though not half each as I only wanted like a 1/4 of the salad since we also had another starter. We also ordered the lab sausage hummus. One of my faves. I was glad to see it in the menu here and that it's a staple, no longer just a special. You must try it! The lamb is tender & delicious & works well with the hummus. I ordered the Chilean sea bass & as usual, it does not disappoint. It's cooked perfectly and seasoned just right as not to overpower the delicate flavor of the fish itself. My husband ordered the sirloin I think, long flat piece of meat and something like a long kafta kabob. I wasn't impressed. It wasn't seasoned well to me and was sort of dry, which is probably the 1st thing at Rumi's I haven't cared for. They provided me a purse hook which I thought was thoughtful. They validate parking; 100% for the valet & 50% for the deck. I know, seems backwards and we didn't realize this or we would've gotten in the long valet line smh. The restroom I used was clean and smelled great. It was packed Ina. Friday night so I'd highly recommend making a reservation. read more
I had a fantastic experience at Rumi's Kitchen! The food was absolutely amazing -- every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The space itself is really pretty, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the evening feel special. It was very busy for a Thursday night, but the service was still excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly despite the crowd. I would definitely visit again. Highly recommend! read more
Never had a bad experience at Rumi's in Midtown, but I would say that for the fairly simple dinner menu, all of the choices are a tad expensive. Ambiance is very nice and staff are great - definitely a good place to have a celebratory dinner or birthday! My advice... if you're looking for dinner, opt for Delbar or Truva for more bang for your buck. I would definitely suggest Rumi's for brunch, though! The prices are more affordable and the menu is quite diverse. read more
What a great surprise. Everything was lovely - the food, the service, and the atmosphere (at least outside) was welcoming. Inside was crazy loud, though. There's only one photo because we were too busy eating to take photos. There were a few issues but the server and manager went out of their way to make it right. They were out of our top two entree choices and one app choice. We didn't find out about that app until the first app was nearly finished. Quick recap: The hummus is excellent. The house made pita is also outstanding. The kibbeh naya - delicious and generously portioned. The same for the lamb neck, koobideh, and kebab torsh. All delicious, including the saffron rice and tahdig sides. Due to the ordering difficulties we had we were comped a very tasty saffron pistachio ice cream "sandwich" dessert. Service was all-around excellent and value for price was also quite good. It's no one's fault that it started raining in the middle of the meal, especially when weather radar insisted that it wasn't raining, but the staff handled the ensuing chaos well. One of our party stated unequivocally that Rumi's is much better than Delbar. 'Nuff said. read more

First time here and rushed to give this the highest rating possible, would give 6/5 stars if I could!! From service, ambiance, and food quality, hands down one of the best restaurants in Atlanta! We had a reservation for our anniversary and they made sure to deliver! We ordered a few mocktails which were good, and they offered us some complimentary non alcoholic wine which was very thoughtful. Onto the food which was the STAR of the show, we ordered the Lamb Merguez and Grilled Vegetables as our starter, Wagyu Kebab, Chilean Seabass, and Chicken Barg as our entree, and received a whole spread of desserts! The lamb merguez was phenomenal, the lamb was SOO tender with not a hint of gaminess. I normally don't like lamb so was hesitant to order, but the lamb was absolutely delicious, tender, and juicy! I was so surprised not even a tinge of gaminess was there, I kept eating more, really a beautifully delivered dish. The hummus itself also had nice flavor from the chickpea, and it paired well with the complimentary pita which was fresh and hot as well. The grilled vegetables were also great, they had a nice smokiness and char but were kept juicy! For the entrees, I highly, highly recommend the sea bass. This dish was so good it changed my mind on sea bass as a whole. The sea bass was super buttery and tender, but it had some bite so it was not just mushy. It was also delicately cooked with lovely seasoning, but kept a very strong smoky flavor, with the buttery but not heavy sauce oozing out with each bite. It was phenomenal, I truly cannot recommend this enough! If you are uncertain like I was, go for it, you will not regret it!! Truly the highlight of the meal. The wagyu dish was also spectacular, the kebabs had a char so the meat had a slight crust on the outside, but the inside again was very tender and juicy. This did not have as much smokiness as the seabass but was still enjoyable. The sauce was again oozing out of the steak, with the tender meat inside. The chicken barg was also quite good, with a bit of a citrus flavor. It was also super juicy and tender, the chicken literally did not need to be cut as it would just tear with a fork. These dishes also came with different kinds of rice, and the rice was also seasoned beautifully with butter, herbs, and saffron, and really came through even with the flavor with the meat. On top of this, we were given a green chile chutney that added some kick and freshness to our palate. It almost was like a spicy, thinner, less creamy guacamole, but paired superbly with our meal. I also cannot begin to explain their delicious desserts, we received the Persian Ice Cream Sandwich, vanilla ice cream(?), Rumi's Tart, and the Kinafa. The ice cream sandwich had saffron and rose water notes that were so delicate and delicious, and paired well with the crunchy light water. My other favorite was the Kinafa, which had a delicate crunch with a sweet but not heavy cheese filling with a honey syrup. The tart was also delicious, with hazelnut and chocolate, but I preferred the first two as they felt a bit more unique. However, all of them were still extremely well executed! Other than the food, our service was stellar. We sat next to the kitchen and could see the dishes being made, and I believe the manager(?)/head chef was on top of everything. We heard him ensure temperatures were perfect for each dish, verify quality was top notch, and make sure everything was up to standard. It was really nice to see and made for a wonderful experience and confidence in our food, and the quality DEFINITELY showed. He also made our anniversary so special with the dessert spread, checked in on us, and even gave us some other recommendations. A truly wonderful experience!! Ambiance was low lighting and fine, perfect for date nights or after work gatherings. You can also casually come in, which made for an upscale but relaxed atmosphere. The only thing was parking, which they have valet or you can park in the garage where they will validate half. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Atlanta, highly recommend the sea bass, lamb merguez, and Persian ice cream sandwich or Kinafa. Will be returning, and highly recommend to everyone!! Just a fabulous experience and meal. We ate family style trying and enjoying oodles of apps and entrees. The service was attentive and not overbearing. The variety of mixed drinks were crowd pleasers. Only complaint? We were in a smaller room with a huge party and it was very loud. read more
Bring a flashlight. Came as a big group of 7 and obviously for places like this, it is much easier to make a reservation. Valet parking is validated by the restaurant so go ahead and get the valet! Once we were seating, the restaurant was pretty dim already and each table had one of those new wireless lamps that only shine light at a radius of like 2 inches... but once it got later into the evening, they dimmed the restaurant EVEN MORE. Not even exaggerating but it was so dark to see anything. Going to the bathroom was scary. but 5/5 stars for how delicious everything was. Because we were in a larger group, our waiter went ahead and ordered all our dishes for us since we wanted to family-style it. All the photos shown on this review was 10/10. Nothing was bad. if i really had to choose which were my top favorites.. the watermelon salad, the cauliflower and the skewers. Nothing was overly seasoned or too salty. Drinks were also very good. I would definitely recommend coming for any occasion! but again, bring a flashlight :) read more
Came here for a quick lunch! I was overwhelmed by the big door in the front. Not sure if they're open or should I come in or not and when I did its really beautiful inside. Place is busy with customers. I got seated near the bar area which is more quieter. Server is very nice They gave you a complimentary warm flat bread and Kashk (white cheese) with some mint leaves and greens. I enjoyed the cocktail spritz and giggles and ordered the roasted salmon with herb basmati rice.it was good and cooked well. Would love to go back to try other dishes! read more
I am obsessed with this place. Rumi's Kitchen is one of my favorite dining experiences in Atlanta. From the moment you walk in the ambiance is warm, refined, and inviting with an aesthetic that reflects Persian culture while still feeling modern and elevated. What really stands out is how authentic and beautifully executed the food is. We had the sabzi platter to start with that fresh pita bread. Next we tried the tahdig which is like a crispy rice that had a pomegranate flavored sauce and also a savory lentil sauce. SO yummy. For my main I got the Soltani Kabob which was a mix of beef koobideh kabob and beef barg kabob served with saffron basmati rice. AMAZING, perfectly flavorful and balanced. For dessert we tried this peach, caramelized brittle tart and it was delicious. The team clearly takes pride in showcasing the culture behind the cuisines and it adds depth to the entire experience. I am looking forward to my next visit to Atlanta so I can come back here! read more

Atmosphere: Nice Service: Good Food: Pretty Good Price: Pricey We came in on a Monday night for a birthday dinner and it was surprisingly packed with families, couples, groups basically everything. Lively but not too loud you can't hear your guests. Attire seems above casual. We started out with the Corn ribs and hummus. Pretty tasty. We had the salmon and rice (alright), Lamb chops (very good), and the lamp kabobs (alright) with a couple glasses of wine and the Iranish coffee to end the dinner. Went here last Sunday for my birthday and let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! Now granted, I was there for my birthday and by the time I remembered to take pictures I was on my fourth drink, so needless to say I don't remember the names of anything we ate. But! It was all delicious, you really can't go wrong. We started off with a lamb appetizer and an eggplant dip for our pita bread. The dip was fire! That's the empty bowl in the bottom right of my photo . Next we had some salmon and lamb kabobs, a duck dish and lamb neck with all the traditional Persian rices. For drinks, I had a smokey cocktail (the only one I didn't really care for, which was surprising because I love mezcal), a rye cocktail (not pictured but DELICIOUS) and the dessert milkshake cocktail (BOMB flavor, texture was so-so). We finished off with my complementary dessert, which was my other favorite dish. The ice cream was FIRE: saffron, pistachio, rose water flavored with wafers in either side to make an ice cream sandwich. Highly recommend! The service was top notch, and the ambiance is sexy which was to be expected in this area. All in all this was a great way to end my birthday, you've gotta check it out. Hope this helps! read more

I almost never write reviews -- I only do it when something is either truly disappointing or genuinely exceptional. This falls firmly into the second category. I was in Atlanta on business with my 21-year-old son, and the concierge at our hotel kept insisting we try Rumi's Kitchen. Honestly, I wasn't thrilled about it. I'm from LA, where Persian food is everywhere, and I was hoping to try Southern food while we were in town. But he was adamant, so we reluctantly headed to the Colony Square location. We were impressed from the second we walked in. The interior is stunning -- elegant, warm, and beautifully designed. It was a rainy Tuesday night, and the place was still completely packed. We felt lucky to even get a table. Looking over the menu, we noticed they'd put creative, modern twists on traditional Persian dishes. Then the Dough(drink) arrived -- served in the most gorgeous carafes and glasses -- and honestly, they had us at the drink. Everything after that just kept getting better. Our waiter, Justin, walked us through every dish and patiently answered all of my questions. At one point, the manager, William, stopped by to check on us, and when he found out my son was in Atlanta for an internship, he told him to come back anytime and that he'd take care of him. Later, the other manager, Hailey, gave us a hug on our way out. That's the kind of place this is. By the end of the night, my son and I were both a little stunned. We couldn't even agree on what impressed us most -- the food, the incredible staff, or the atmosphere. It had all been that good. I know they're opening a new location in LA, and I will absolutely be standing in line to be one of the first through the door. read more
Have been to this restaurant for at least 8 times since I moved to Atlanta last August. The restaurant undoubtedly serves the best Middle Eastern dishes in Midtown, and is among the most popular, high quality Middle Eastern restaurants around Atlanta. The main menu focuses on traditional mediterranean app and main dishes, with incredible serving sizes. They also offer a small brunch menu on weekends (main menu is also avaible at brunch). For app. & sides I recommend the lamb ribs, which comes with two marinated double-cut pieces; juicy and fatty. It was a bit salty for me so I would suggest having it with a salad. The labneh charred tomato and Chermoula eggplant are also interesting. Do not recommend the side torshi -- very tiny size with almost nothing. For mains, try their koobideh kabob if you want HUGE amount of meat -- it comes with two skewers of ground chuck which weigh over 12oz (cooked) -- enough for two meals for me! If you want something special and affordable, Gheymeh would be a good choice. It is basically bite-size beef cubes stewed with split pea in a rich tomato-based sauce. The lamb neck is "festive", meanwhile having a lighter flavor. Do not miss the bone marrow if you order it. Kabob Torsh has a smaller size compared to the other kabob dishes, and I found the meat too chewy. Finally, do not foget they can sub the rice for other rice (up charge varies) or salad (no up charge) or grilled veggies (up charge $8). For brunch I only tried Boreka. It came with two triangle pastries stuffed with ground lamb and bulglur, and side of labneh and pickled beets. While the pastry was not bad, the labneh and pickled beets was even better. Will try more brunch dishes in the future. Finally, I would like to briefly compare Rumi's with Delbar, as I often hear about ppl discussing them: 1. Complimentary bread: bread in Rumi's is less salty than in Delbar, and has no sesame seeds on it. 2. Serving size: The main dishes in Rumi's are much more generous compared to the same/similar items in Delbar. 3. Creativity: Rumi's hardly change their menu, while Delbar offers seasonal dishes. Always look up Delbar's webstie for some surprising appetizers! 4. Vibe: Rumi's is darker than Delbar. Good for dating but bad for taking photos... 5. Service: I really like the service in Rumi's, especially at the bar. In Delbar, the staff are usually just hustling around and they hardly ask me about my dining experience. In Rumi's, the staff often chat happily with customers and they always ask me about my food. read more
I am so glad that amongst the many dining options in Colony Square I picked Rumi's! Sadly there were only two of us so we had limited stomach room, but we made the most of it by grabbing seats at the bar. The cocktails were very good- my cosmopolitan was delicious and the perfect color, and the old fashioned was good. We ordered and all the food came out after what felt like 5 minutes (but maybe was closer to 10). The fattoush salad came out at the same time as the complementary palate cleanser, and I wish the dishes had been spaced out better because everything came out right away. The palate cleanser is served with bread and the Bulgarian goat cheese feta and fresh herbs. The Labne Charred Tomato was the best dish of the night. So flavorful and the tomatoes were cooked perfectly. My second favorite dish was the fattoush salad, it was lightly dressed with a mild creamy dressing without being dry at all. It was the perfect, delicious salad. I was very excited to order the Lahmacun since I haven't had that dish since our visit to Turkey a few years ago. It wasn't bad, but was a forgettable dish and not the best flavor that I was hoping for. I also like the hummus just ok but it wasn't a standout. The vibe is very cool and trendy, it was busy on a Thursday night so I was very glad we lucked out with a seat at the bar to enjoy our meal! read more

The lobby outside Rumi's Kitchen is lovely and spacious - marble-topped side tables, simple, elegant leather chairs adorn the corners of a soft, grey rug. The art is a mix of contemporary abstract paintings and minimalist modular geometric and biophilic architectural installations. It was unseasonably cold in Atlanta, so the room was a bit cool and a little drafty, but with our coats it was manageable. All in all, a comfortable relaxing room. Which was good, because we spent an hour and a half there waiting for our table. We arrived as walk-ins at 8pm on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. We were told it would be 45-minutes wait - understandable considering, but we were in no real rush, so passed the time playing the NYTimes Spelling Bee. (It was a rough go for a bit, but eventually managed to hit Genius.) An hour passed, and we checked back and were suddenly told they weren't able to give us a time, and then that it was going to be another hour. The mom of our group went to speak to a manager and fortunately they were able to reduce that to 15. Which turned into 30. Not a great start. Finally seated, the friendly waiter took our drink order (a Spin Me Round ($17), which, incidentally, didn't come until halfway through the meal) and we quickly went through the menu to get our order in as we were on the edge of hangry. So, the food: A complimentary herb, vegetable and cheese plate came out first, which complemented a lot of our Tasting plates well. The accompanying flat bread was well-baked, but somewhat unremarkable - mainly there to accompany the dishes. Salad: Fatoush Salad ($15). Tomato, chopped romaine, flatbread, herbs and a buttermilk dressing. Straightforward. Hummus: Roasted Crimini and Oyster Mushrooms with black garlic and porcini broth ($16). Very good. Mushrooms were cooked perfectly. Could have been a little more hummus on the plate. Eggplant: Kashk Badajoon ($15), fried eggplant, cream of whey, crispy onion and mint. Excellent. Perfect balance of flavors and textures. Vegetables: Grilled Vegetables ($14). A kebob of mixed seasonal fruit and vegetables; zucchini, onions, pineapple, etc. Fine. Feast: Soltani Kabob ($42) - charred tomato, saffron beef tenderloin, beef koobideh kabob, saffron basmati rice. Excellent and more than enough for two. The koobideh was very good but the tenderloin was spectacular - perfectly tender, well-seasoned without overpowering the cut, a star of a protein. And the saffron basmati rice was.... non-existent. We had ordered an additional rice dish and the waiter mistakenly thought we were substituting it for the rice that normally comes with this, so we were sadly robbed of the crispy saffron goodness. Rice: Sabzi, mixed herbs. ($4/$8) Make sure you specify whether you want this as a substitution or as a side! Pickled vegetable Torshi ($5). If you like a little more acid with your meat and meal (and I do), these are an ideal accompaniment. The extra bread we ordered never came, but to make up for the rice mix up, they comped us the Rumi Tart. The Tart was great. Delicious filling, great shortbread crust, delightful scoop of ice cream. So, in conclusion, really good meal, but reservations are a must. Walk in appears to be a roll of loaded dice. It's normal there'd be a wait, but just don't lie to us about it. Especially when parking is $12/hour. (Free if you let the valet park your car, only 50% off if you self-park. Weird.) read more
Rumi's Kitchen has been a long time favorite of mine as I often frequent the DC location. Known for its Persian cuisine with bold yet simple flavors. The reason the Colony location is 4 and not five stars had to do with service and some dishes being a touch sweeter or saltier than usual. I love how the restaurant design is consistent location to location, but also having region items. For starters we have lamb ribs, lamb merguez, roasted crimini and oyster salad and oyster mushroom hummus, and watermelon salad. All were flavorful the lamb rib is salty. For mains we had a rack of lamb, salmon, lamb kabobs, duck, and chicken berg. The chicken berg was dry and smaller than usual. The duck was also oddly sweet. As always I must conclude with Persian tea and the Persian ice cream sandwich. A perfect combination! read more

How is their weekday lunch menu?
What vegetarian friendly entrees do they have? I see apps are vegetarian friendly (hummus, falafel).
They do have eggplant dishes, watermelon salad, roasted cauliflower dish, grilled veggies, the falafel is da bomb!, very flavorful and creative, items can be modified. Bon Appetit!!
Where do you park?
You park in the Colony Square garage, which is under the restaurant and other stores. They validate parking for a certain time duration.
Do they have free parking?
They do validate but I ended up paying $7. Maybe because we were there longer than the allotted time.
