Chicken Kabab
Anand D.

This was my first time at Layaly. Me and my wife came on NYE for dinner. My wife made a reservation just to be safe. My wife has been here before, but I have not. Layaly is a Mediterranean spot in Chamblee. It's got a nice little quaint feel to it. We ubered here, but there are a few parking spots in the front but not too many. I do believe they valet too, but that may only be on the weekend, not too entirely sure. Me and my wife both got a drink to start. I got a Mezcal based drink recommended by our server and my wife got a lemon vodka based drink. Both were really good! Balanced and flavorful. My Mezcal drink had a nice smokiness (but still very fresh/tart) taste to it. It also came with Tajin on the rim, which I LOVE. Mine was called The Dead Sea, and my wife's was called Ya Habibi. Me and my wife shared all the food we got, because we didn't want to stuff ourselves too much. We got the mezze trio to start with. It was basically 3 different dips accompanied with different crudite, like cucumbers, bell peppers, etc. It also came with Pita too. The dips were really good!! All tasted fresh. It came with hummus, labneh, and baba ghanoush. My favorite was the labneh. Me and my wife are both suckers for labneh. For our main dish, we shared the Chicken Kabab. Came with 5 pieces of chicken, some rice, and then some onions and tomato. It was sooooo good! It was nice and hot and very juicy inside. We ate the entire thing up! The service was decent for the most part. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, but she did forget to refill our waters. Additionally, there was a NYE party that was happening there, so we didn't have the most time to eat. She said we should've been notified that there was a party going on, but no one told us anything. Regardless, we had plans after anyways, so we didn't need to stay that long. I would come back here for sure, and try some of the other items on the menu.

Had a lovely Iftar Thursday night at Layaly! We received excellent service from Savannah who answered all of our questions and made sure we had dates to break out fast when the time arrived! We ordered the grape leaves, mezze trio, and kafta kabab. The grape leaves were a bit meatier than I am used to but they were sooo delicious. The mezze trio was refreshing with such a great assortment of vegetables and pita to eat with the hummus, labneh, and baba ghanoush. The kafta kabab was a little on the dry side but the hot honey harissa made it much better! I also love that they have complimentary valet, so parking is not a concern! I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit to Layaly

The mezzo trio with warm pita was my favorite dish for the night. My main critic is the portions are small for the price. I waited an hour for food but the manager brought out more hummus for us because of the long wait, which was nice. Receiving a slice of cake at the end took an additional 30 minutes. In total, I waited over 2 hours for food. The tahini cookie butter crumble cake was new and innovative to me. The restaurant is very cozy and nice, but don't sit in the covered patio during the rain. It leaks and rain water will drip. The complementary valet parking is very nice because of the small parking lot.

Layaly is a charming restaurant tucked in Chamblee, and we so happen to pass by it on a random Saturday evening. We were cheerfully greeted by the hostess and seated right away. The interior lighting was warm with little flowers hanging from the ceiling - not overdone imo. I'll start by saying that we enjoyed *every* dish we ordered. I'm not an expert on mediterranean food, but I thought it was all delicious. Appetizers: Kibbeh Nayyeh & Baba Ghanoush (served with pita). Personally enjoyed both, especially the Kibbeh Nayyeh since it's the first time I've ever had it. Both seemed to have the right texture, spice, warmth, and taste. Entree: Honey Harissa Chicken & Chicken Kafta Kabab (?). Both dishes had so much flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The chicken easily slid off the bone, and was not dry, overcooked at all. The rice did have a stronger cinnamon taste, but not overbearing to me. I did want more of the honey taste from the chicken, and a server did come by to ask for my honest review! I'm happy to see the positive reviews for it! The parking situation is a bit weird - they have a

Our food was absolutely delicious. It is a pricier restaurant but if you're looking for a nice night out, the price tag suits the well crafted dishes and the amazing cocktails. Our server was extremely sweet, and our food came to us so quickly. The restaurant itself is a very lovely atmosphere, and a cool ceiling as well.

I came here for a Celebratory lunch with some family members this past weekend. This was my first time here, and our waitress was very kind and recommended items to us and let us try some drinks before she charged us. Just incase we did not like it. I really appreciated that. The service was wonderful and I have no complaints. The dining area was smaller than I expected but was clean and well decorated. This is everything I ordered: - Layaly Mazza (Sampler) This included Hummus, which was the best on the plate. Baba Ghanoush, Falafel, and Tabouleh. This all came with a basket of pita bread as well. I highly recommend the hummus. It was a 10/10. The baba ghanoush had a smokey flavor that was TOO overwhelming to where I felt it was lacking an eggplant taste. The falafel was crispy and delicious (get it!). And the Tabouleh wasn't my style, it was too herby and intense. - Beef Skewers Was a little lacking. The beef did not have much seasoning. It was also a little tough, so i would skip this one. - Whole Branzino Moist and flaky. I liked this one a lot! Perfect with a nice huge squeeze of lemon. - Honey Harissa Chicken I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed this dish a lot. We got these entrees on a big dish to share and try all of them. While I do not think this was a bad meal, I think a lot of the dishes were slightly unbalanced. It is worth a try.

Adorable decorations. Good customer service. Very clean. The food was fresh just not as flavorful as other Mediterranean restaurants. I ordered the branzino, the chicken, the lamb stuffed squash, all three dips (hummus etc.), and the knafeh dessert. If I came back for anything, it would be the baba ghanoush and the knafeh. The Bronzino was really small and tasted like it only had salt and pepper. The chicken was a great size and was seasoned well, but it was really overcooked and dry. The lamb stuffed squash was mostly rice and the sauce and squash was very bland. The dips had great texture but the only one that had flavor was the baba ghanoush. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back. If you are very sensitive to strong flavors, this would be perfect for you because everything else was great.

Adorable little Mediterranean Restaurant, where the owner will come check on you to make sure you are enjoying your meal. My friend and I have had our eye on this spot and finally had a chance to check it out ! It was super cute inside !! We started with the Mazza platter that had tabbouleh, falafel, humus and baba Ghanoush. Absolutely delicious. We were saving room for our main entrees, but it was hard not to finish everything on this platter. I had seen that they had a special off menu item of Kousa Mahshi and was super excited to try that. Unfortunately, they were not serving it on the night we went and instead had molokhia. I ended up trying the musakhan instead which was DIVINE. I was very excited to see all three of these even if Kousa Mahshi was not being served that night. You typically do not see these item, and was very pleasantly surprised that Layaly had them. We ended our experience at Layaly with Dubai Chocolate cheesecake. It was amazing. The perfect end to our night. We went on a Friday night with a reservation, but it did look like you could walk in without a reservation. The parking was valet as well. Recommend: Musakhan, Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake Food is halal! I believe there was a few things that weren't but would double check

Layaly is a quaint place that feels very home-y, as if you are sitting in a bed and breakfast. It is also a family-owned restaurant that offers Mediterranean food in Chamblee. It is kind of hidden on the highway, but do not miss out on this place! It was not too busy when I got there, so the service was fairly quick. We got the Hummus, Lamb Kabob, Chicken Kabob, Turkish Mule, and Desert Dusk. The Hummus was pretty typical, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. My boyfriend got the Lamb Kabob which he loved! I tried a bit of the lamb, which is also a meat I never had before, and I liked it. I thought my Chicken Kabob was seasoned well, but I do wish the meat was a bit more tender. The basmati rice that the entrees came with was fine, but it tasted a bit too cinnamon-y for me? What really helped offset the taste of the rice was the creamy garlic sauce that came with the dishes as it added a proper savory taste to the overall meal! I thought the drinks were okay, nothing special. Overall, I think Layaly is an adorable restaurant to check out if you are on Buford Highway!

Chicken and kebabs

4.5 Delicious, savory and juicy chicken. And the kebab was delicious as well. Salad and rice was good, I really enjoyed the rice. And the fries with toumoc was also yum!

Trying this Family owned spot! Server Liv is good to us. It was a small space but great atmosphere and Great cocktails! I love the dead sea drink. The group definitely enjoyed the layaly mazza. I get to try the chicken kabab and it was so good! I Ordered the beef kabab but I hope that I ordered the lamb instead. My friend did but she ordered potatoes instead of rice. Still the rice came and no potatoes. We follow it up but it took so long and all the lambs is already gone. They made it but too late. We just asked it for to go. The owner was so apologetic and gave us a discount for the confusion. It was busy but it looks like they have enough staff and it was just a hiccup. Would love to go back again and try the desserts.

Phenomenal place for Levantine cuisine. The decor was floral chic. Staff was very welcoming. The place filled up pretty quickly on a Thursday night. A reservation would be encouraged for weekends. They have complimentary valet (no self-parking). Their labneh was one of the best we've had-- the olive oil really shown through. The Lebanese rice had a punch of cardamom. The grilled chicken kabob had a nice char and was still juicy on the inside. The toum that came with the kabab was fresh and fluffy, with an energetic punch of garlic. The kousa mahshi was comforting in a tomato based sauce. The kibbeh was aromatic and went well with the pita and labneh. The batata harrah had a noticeable spicy kick.

Lamb shank

On a business trip, I had a lamb craving that rivaled a lion's. I found this spot not far from where I was staying, because priorities. Valet parking should be optional, not mandatory, unless they're trying to make me feel like royalty. The restaurant was nice and had a pleasant ambiance, but it was pretty slow when I visited. I was greeted with a smile, which was nice, because I'm pretty sure my lamb craving was written all over my face. I ordered the lamb shank, because the waitress said so, and it was just okay, not life-changing. Overall, it was a solidly mediocre experience.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

They set up multiple bars for bigger events so you don't have to wait on line for long, and they typically already include tax and gratuity automatically. I opted to park at the Wal-Mart and wasn't as familiar with the trail so I took the street route. Well-light and populated for safe crossing. The venue is very open and was relatively empty since we arrived shortly after it opened. I love the indoor seating concept with plenty of couches, movable chairs, tables near the open-area space and smaller sections for 2-4 people tucked away along the wall. The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. The venue is well-lit and easy to move around. The crowd was diverse, with various ages and backgrounds represented. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night. If you're in the mood for something different AND don't mind the trek to Chamblee, check it out.

The Ashford - Smoked salmon dip

I found…read morethem on Yelp a week or so before and ended up making a reservation on their website the next day. I'm so glad we listened to the other reviews and gave them a visit because our entire table of four had a lovely time. We started with drinks and I settled on a glass of wine. They had the exact type of sauvignon blanc that I wanted, which was an immediate win. As a group we settled on the whipped goat cheese and brussel sprouts for appetizers. The brussel sprouts came with bacon so I steered clear, but the others raved about them. The whipped goat cheese dip was also a nice choice with the garden veggies. Super creamy and refreshing. As for my entree I went with risotto of the week with salmon. It was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. We had a birthday in the group so we of course had to get desserts. We shared the creme brulee and this super decadent chocolate cake. Both with fresh berries, love! The creme brulee was definitely my favorite of the two, but you can't go wrong. As for the space itself, it's beautiful. It gave off a sort of a modern farmhouse vibe with the wood and brick. With the twinkle lights and earthy touches bringing it all together. Our service was also on point. Jackson was awesome (as you can see in the other reviews) and kept the good vibes flowing all night. I would definitely come here again.

The Ashford is a pretty nice place to grab either brunch, lunch, or dinner! We came around 7, so we had dinner. You can sit outside or inside, the weather was really nice, but we just wanted to sit inside in the AC. I got a glass of the bieler rose, which was recommended by our server. My wife got the lavender daydreams cocktail, which was really good! We all shared the chicken spring rolls and the burrata bruschetta. Both were really good! The chicken spring rolls were in a rice paper, and not the usual wonton paper. I don't usually like the rice paper spring rolls, but these ones weren't too bad. For our main, me and my wife got the chicken schnitzel. They even split it on two different plates for us too, which was nice of them to do. It was SO GOOD. Pretty sure I inhaled mine! We also shared the mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was soooooo good. It was a pimento mac and cheese, and had herbed breadcrumbs. Chef's kiss! The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars, is because our food took FOREVER to come out. There were some larger parties, so I do get it, but this was like 30-45 minutes forever. Also, I can't remember which dish, but one of the dishes me and my wife got was cold, so we asked to send it back to get a warmer version, which they did. They comped this off the bill, which was nice. That didn't bother me as much as the food coming out so late. Had that not been the case, I would've given this review 5 stars! The food was really really good. We would definitely still come back in the future!

The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. This is a must-try-before-you-die type of place. Oh, and happy birthday, Amy!
