I read they had live music and I loved the idea of having a drink and relaxing to music. Unfortunately this is a lobby bar and is extremely noisy. We found a nice table and ordered a glass of wine. We had every intent of staying and eating, but this atmosphere is not what we had in mind. I felt bad for the musician because nobody was paying attention. Our server disappeared so even if we wanted to stay for more drinks it was a hassle. The bartender finally tracked down our bill and we decided to go elsewhere. read more

A few colleagues and I decided to stop at the bar in the lobby before heading up to our rooms. Although it wasn't in the menu, someone asked if they could make a decaf espresso martini and the server said he'd find out. Rather than just finding out, he went ahead and made it and brought it out with the group's drinks. When I saw how good it looked, I decided to order one too. The presentation of the drink was very nice and it had a good creamy flavor to it. This drink was a nice way to wind down the evening. As someone from TX, I did think the drinks were a bit on the pricey side but it's not surprising with it being the ritz. I liked that the bar had a fun yet casual ambiance and there were plenty of people around. We did ask what time last call was and were told midnight so we didn't hurry to order a second drink. Came for a drink with colleagues before heading out for dinner on a busy weekday. There were a lot of events happening downtown so it was busier than usual but still easy to grab a table. This lounge is next to the lobby of the Ritz Carlton. The dress code is smart casual but that didn't seem to be an issue. Fast and friendly service. The first was lamb sliders then was the Brussels sprouts + soup. What surprised me was the items did not come out as prepared. Instead, they all came out at once. My wife and I dined here for a late dinner on a Friday night. Their kitchen was open until 11. It seemed they were a little understaffed by the waiters and waitresses on staff were working very hard. I had a couple of the Monday Night IPAs that were on draft. They had a nice bar with some good whiskey options. For dinner, I had a cheeseburger while my wife had the tuna tacos. The burger came with fries. Both were good. The burger wasn't greasy and didn't leave me feeling lethargic. We shared a sort of key lime pie / brûlée for dessert which we both enjoyed. read more

Relaxed environment situated in the lower level of the Ritz Carlton downtown. Lighted menu was interesting, though not necessary since lighting wasn't extremely low. Drink selections were plentiful, but food offerings were limited especially if vegetarian. I opted for oysters with mignion sauce and horseradish I requested on the side. Did not remember to ask for them lightly steamed, so ate them raw. They were very delicious! My vegetarian friend created a veggie plate with sauteed spinach and roasted brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts, which I sampled, had a sugary glaze that was subtle but provided a delightful flavor that words cannot describe! Ambiance was great with guitar serenade by Jean Pierre. His music was the perfect addition to food and great conversation. He definitely added to the 4 star rating. Our server was very new and not clear on several questions posed. Prices a bit steep too - $3 per oyster and mixed drinks $15 & up. My Southern Skies Julep was a tasty Makers Mark concoction with fresh berries and plum bitters, but did not equate to cost. Relaxing atmosphere with comfortable seating and live music when we stopped in on a Wed for happy hour. Since it's in the Ritz, expect a little higher prices. I think the old fashioned was $18. Tasted great but you probably don't want to start racking these up on your bill. read more

This is the downstairs bar in the Ritz Carlton in downtown Atlanta (Peachtree Center). The server was excellent. She was able to provide recommendations based upon our specific drink preferences. The stand out cocktail was the smoked Manhattan. I only recommend one, however, since they are potent, pricey and very smokey. The Del Presidente margarita was also tasty. Really low key bar/lounge inside the Ritz. We ended up grabbing a drink here while waiting for dinner reservations at a restaurant across the hall. The server came over immediately after we sat down and brought complimentary snacks and water. The mixed drinks are around $10-12 but totally worth it because they deliver a punch. We were in town for one night only and decided to do it up and stay at the Ritz. It was awesome. And potentially the best thing about the hotel was the lobby bar, Lumen. Gorgeous inside, with prompt service. A tray of bar snacks. A guy playing Oasis covers on guitar. And the drinks! The menu was amazing and varied, and showcased a lot of different liquors in different presentations. In the end, we decided on a berry-gin drink and a riff on the mint julep. So good! I would gladly return to Lumen, even if I wasn't staying in the Ritz-Carlton. read more

This is a very attractive lounge with both bar seating and then individual chair groupings across the front of the lobby. It's quite stylish and the service has that Ritz polish. The music is also unobtrusive enough for conversation. I found it to be relaxing and comfortable, just as a hotel lounge should be. The list of specialty cocktails is kind of sparse, so I'd like to see a more robust mixology program. The food menu has enough variety to take care of any appetite, though. A good choice for a respite whether you're staying at the hotel or not. read more

Enjoyed visiting Lumen on our luxurious 1-night getaway at the Ritz-Carlton. As classy hotel-and-bar-guests go, we are not. It wouldn't take much to please me here but I truly think this hotel and bar are amazing! Our service was very good. You sit down in the very dispersed lounge-like feel, but the staff notice you right away. I was brought complimentary champagne (via the front desk). The ambiance here is so awesome. Dimly lit purples, blues and blacks with funky light fixtures and...oh what the heck. Let me tell you about the FOOD. It's artistic and trendy. My husband ordered a burger and the garlic fries (both were very good!). I ordered 3 of the very unique sounding pumpkin-chicken-biscuit slider..things. Wow. The first one takes some getting used to: it's basically a very delicious chicken nugget on a good biscuit and they put pumpkin butter on it! There's also a sauce on top. It's very different but after the first one I fell in love. They are REALLY good. I recommend trying at least one (I ordered three but they're served a-la-carte). The fries were solidly good. Usually hotel restaurants are reserved for the convenience of the hotel guests, but this place is worth visiting even as a non-guest (as is Atlanta Grill's breakfast!) read more

Showed up to grab a drink and was told i couldn't park myself which was fine but the valet watched as i drove myself to the front to then park my car back in the same spot i was in. Then when i went inside i was told a 3 hour wait for the bar to grab a quick drink which i went up the other elevators and was promptly served. I think the place has potential but they need to work on the service or else they will come across as pretentious. read more

My Margherita pizza was a cheese pizza with a few tomato slices. Cheap dough and no basil or pesto or any flavor at all. Husband's burger was very meh, and friends BLT wrap had no tomato at all. As hotel bars go it's a good one, however if you're visiting get out and see the neighborhood! Chops and the new Braves sports bar are just a couple of options! However the burger is the Atlanta Grill burger and is the same as the one on the menu up stairs. The crab cakes and pimento cheese also seemed to be hits and were well ordered.
