Once you're inside, the entire mood changes. The interior is retro, stylish, dark, and a little dramatic with a definite 70s/80s disco-glam feel. Plush seating, low lighting, bold colors, and just enough over-the-top design to make it fun without feeling cheesy. It's a great date-night or girls-night spot and definitely somewhere you could bring someone visiting Atlanta. There is no food here, so know that before you go. This is strictly a cocktail lounge. You can always eat in the food hall before or after, but you can't bring food from Politan Row inside JoJo's. The cocktails are really the focus, along with the music and atmosphere. It's usually packed, particularly later in the week, so I would make a reservation if you know you want to go rather than assuming you'll be able to walk right in. The room itself isn't huge, which actually adds to that intimate, hidden-lounge feeling. For me, JoJo's isn't somewhere I'm going because I want dinner and drinks. I'm going because I've already eaten and want somewhere stylish to have a cocktail, listen to some music, people-watch, and enjoy the atmosphere. When she brought my fries, she realized that she never brought the fork, and still didn't bring it. I ordered yucca fries, but she brought regular fries. The mocktails were served in these foggy old cups. Even the customer next to me commented on her own cup and said it looked like someone had drank from it. They add 20% gratuity to ALL bills--I was by myself and it was still added. 5 Church is pretty good, but this place was not at all. There's no pressure, no strict dress code--just a come-as-you-are energy, and people genuinely receive you that way. Within five minutes of being there, I already felt comfortable. Everyone was so friendly--the bartenders, the people around us, even the random interactions felt warm and easy. The space itself is really cool too. They have artwork featuring icons like Prince, Tupac, and Biggie, which added to the overall atmosphere. We ordered the King Peach (I believe it had bourbon--I did take a picture of the menu, though it's a little cut off), and it was really good. Smooth, flavorful, and easy to sip. I didn't realize that the two were connected! FYI, if you sit downstairs, you'll be seated next to where the live music performers will be playing, so it will be louder there. As for the drinks, I tried the Zombie. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one instead of trying a different one! It tasted sweet and slightly tropical with the rum and spiced liqueur. It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! The meeting ended up being almost 3 hours long. I forgot and I left without paying my tab.  As soon as I discovered my error I contacted the restaurant. David was not available so I called again and this time I left a message. I requested to speak to a manager, and all the manager did was offer me a table. At this point I was no longer in the mood to relax and enjoy my night, as I didn't feel welcome at this place at all. After a five-minute conversation with the manager and no result, I left. Very disappointed, and not coming back here.
