Virtue Rooftop is a whole mood on a Tuesday. I touched down for the "Jazz on the Rooftop" session, and the live saxophonist was definitely the highlight--sliding through covers and originals with the kind of ease that makes a date night feel effortless. The spot is huge with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so you aren't cramped while trying to catch a vibe. The 1000 Masks cocktail was smooth and balanced, avoiding the sugar-trap I expected from the blueberry syrup. We started with the Yuca Parmesan Truffle Fries--solid crunch and the truffle wasn't aggressive--and the Togarashi Tempura Veggies, which were light and crispy. I went with the 5Church Lamb Burger Sliders for the main; the gorgonzola fondue and red onion marmalade combo was a heavy hitter, though the lemon-dressed arugula kept it grounded. The food was a solid, reliable choice--nothing that'll change your life, but definitely tasty enough to keep you satisfied while the music does its thing. If you want a laid-back, intentional atmosphere without the extra noise, this is the move. read more

Beautiful views, but the service and the food left much to be desired. I ordered chicken skewers, 2 mocktails, artichoke dip, and yucca fries. The chicken skewers took forever to come out. You only get two of them, and they are served over a bed of mixed greens. They lacked seasoning and flavor. The artichoke dip was extremely oily and had a very strange texture--it was thick and spreadable. The pita bread tasted old and stale. asked for a fork and the waitress forgot. When she brought my fries, she realized that she never brought the fork, and still didn't bring it. I ordered yucca fries, but she brought regular fries. The mocktails were served in these foggy old cups. Even the customer next to me commented on her own cup and said it looked like someone had drank from it. They add 20% gratuity to ALL bills--I was by myself and it was still added. 5 Church is pretty good, but this place was not at all. I paid 65 dollars for my meal, which was absolutely not worth it, given the quality and service of my experience. Looks good for IG but I won't be coming back to this rooftop. read more

We came to Virtue for their Saturday Session event with live music on the rooftop. The atmosphere was really laid-back -- a true chill vibe. We prepaid $10 per person, which covered our first drink, and thought that was a nice touch. Parking at Colony Square wasn't too bad, and the rooftop offered a great spot to people-watch while enjoying the music. I appreciated that we never felt rushed to leave after finishing our drinks. It was easy to relax and soak in the evening. We ordered the steak frites, which were just okay, but I do wish the menu had more variety. Beautiful space, great drink, and great views! Location and Parking Located in Midtown, Parking is located in the underground deck immediately below the restaurant. They validate for 3 hours. When you exit the deck, exit the side where Rumi's Kitchen is. If you exit the other side, you will need to walk all the way around the building for access to 5 Church and Virtue (ask me how I know lol). Venue and Atmosphere When I visited, Virtue was decked out for Christmas. There were plenty of lights, trees, and poinsettias overlooking Midtown. Outdoors, they had comfy furniture and fire pits roaring with plenty of heat. There are two bars so the space never gets crowded with revelers waiting on a drink. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages I had two drinks: the signature drink, Holy Water, and the Rum Punch. Both were strong yet flavorful. To be honest,I wasn't a huge fan of the food. The chicken and beef sliders were good, and the crab dip was also delicious. The sushi tots and coconut shrimp lacked flavor. Because the food wasn't consistent, I took off a star. Verdict I'll definitely visit again in the spring, so I can fully enjoy the outside with warm weather. read more

It was a nice view but it was too crowded. Parking is Valet $20 plus or you can park for 2 hours complementary in the parking deck. I will have to come again but earlier to get a spot with a seat. The DJ was spinning but it was more Techno vibe.. I like more of an Old Skool or Caribbean vibe to match the atmosphere. Full Disclosure: This review is only about the drinks. I have not tried the food at the establishment. Ambiance/Vibe - Is REALLY cute in here. On Fridays (and I think Saturdays), there is a DJ that makes this prefect for gathering with friends, a date, or just to go grab a drink. I love that the inside opens up to the outside with accordion style doors. The "rooftop" is cute as well. I only put it in words because in my mind, a rooftop is at, or very near the top of a building. This is essentially on the 2nd floor. So, in my mind, it's more of a terrace top... but you do have a cute view of the surrounding area. Pretty good seating (the seating indoors is very nice, patio seating is nice but feel like it could be a little better - it just doesn't seem as nice as inside), and of course, it wouldn't be #Atlanta without a #GrassWall! The wall lends itself to great photo opps. 4/5 Service - The service was good, and the waitress was attentive, but I think overall could've benefited from 1 or 2 additional wait staff. We got our drinks in a timely manner, but when we had some additional people join us, it had gotten busier around that time and took a bit longer for the waiter to get neck to our table. 4/5 Food - n/a Drinks - I ordered the Naked Belle and a beer. My friend ordered the Peachtree... something. We enjoyed our drinks but we reeeeeeeeally enjoyed the Naked Belle. That lime foam on the top is just.... ugh! . 5/5 Final Verdict - Lord Wellington Approved. This spot is located in/above 5Church, so don't look for a sign that says "Virtue." It's perfect as either a starting point for your evening, the main event, or a night cap. They automatically add gratuity to each check. And be aware that while they do validate parking, their security guard handles it, so if they are not around, you're not getting your parking validated. So #ProTip, get your parking validated when you arrive (if security is there). 4/5 read more

Came around 10pm and stayed until they closed at 2am. The bouncer at the bottom of the stairs was a little rude but I didn't let him ruin my mood. Once upstairs it was easy to find seating and a waitress was coming up within 10 minutes. I ordered the Cardinal it's really good and sweet but if you don't keep it mixed the syrup sinks and without the prosecco it's no longer enjoyable. So I ordered another lol. After that I also got the beekeeper but it was way too smoky for me but the presentation was nice and the rock candy garnish really good. The last drink I ordered was the Peachtree and that was my favorite reminded me of like a peach lemon drop. By the time I thought of food the kitchen was closed but the menu was small from what I noticed it's a true bar menu so either come early and eat at 5church downstairs then enjoy the rooftop or just go to waffle house after like I did lol. A few weeks ago, I visited Virtue's Rooftop holiday pop-up bar. Seating for the pop-up bar is first come, first serve. Luckily, we were able to find a seat on the couch under the covered portion of the rooftop. Our server was super nice and helpful. We had dinner reservations at Saints + Council, so we just stopped by for a few cocktails and a small bite before our dinner reservation. The rooftop was completely transformed with holiday decor. The menu had a good variety of holiday cocktails and treats. We opted for the Christmas mule and gingerbread old fashion. I also ordered a side of hand cut French fries. The cocktails were tasty and the French fries were hot//fresh. Everything is a bit pricey and there is an automatic 20% gratuity on all bills; however, we enjoyed our experience at the holiday pop-up bar. read more

This was a cute place to have a drink with friends! We were there at 5:45 on a Saturday night, and it was not crowded, but more people were coming in as we left. The space is nice and chill (until they started turning up the music for some odd reason), and the waitress was kind and helpful. A couple of us ordered the Egress cocktail, which was beautiful. It was pink with a tiny edible flower on top. It is a vodka cocktail, but reminded me more of a gin cocktail since it was a bit herbal. The ambiance was 5/5. The views are lovely, the live music was a blast, and the fire pits are a nice touch. However, this place is ran like it's a club with the amounts they're charging. For example, an espresso martini they charged $12 for the shot of liquor and then $8 for espresso. Definitely felt like a scam. I was also served a drink with a lipstick stain on the glass. It can be hard to order a drink even when it's not ~that busy~ compared to how a rooftop place on a Friday night can get in a place like Miami. Would recommend as a stop in but wouldn't stay for more than a drink or two. read more

I visited Virture Rooftop yesterday with a friend and we really enjoyed our experience. The music was great the photo opps were abundant, and I just loved the decor. We both had the lamb burger sliders that were flavorful and delicious. Our server was very helpful and made sure we were completely satisfied with everything ordered. I originally ordered the Beekeeper cocktail but it was a little too spirit forward for me and our server was kind enough to get me something I'd like better. The ambience is lovely although the space isn't very large. The vibe was nice. My husband and I had dinner downstairs then went up to the rooftop for the scenery. Just be aware that the service for food may be very long, at least that was our experience. We ordered an appetizer... chicken skewers. The food took about 45 minutes to arrive. The manager told my husband that they put in several orders at the same time since it's the same kitchen as the restaurant downstairs, so understandably the restaurant gets priority. The chicken was tasty,but the service was lacking. After out waitress took our order she never checked back in with us... perhaps because we didn't order any alcohol. My husband went to cancel our order with the manager which is when he informed him of their process and our food, along with several orders, arrived shortly after. read more

Charcuterie was expensive and below average. Came with honey(no jam or fruit spread) and some weird spread one cracker split in two and some of the meats tasted old. The steak tips even though I was made aware it was "small shareable" was not shareable at all. Mostly mushrooms very little steak. Holiday theme is fine I was expecting more but at least you didn't have to pay to enter. I got the candy cane lane and it was just okay. My husband didn't finish his holiday gingerbread old fashioned he didn't like it. Overall I'd skip this place. $90 tab and we left unsatisfied and went to eat at another restaurant.
