Recently went to High Note for Skyline Sundays. This was a 30+ day party event with a live band and DJs. The location is right in the heart of Midtown, inside the Moxy Hotel. Take the pool elevator to the 6th floor from the lobby and you're in the party. The setup was a mix of sofas, long high top tables and seats at the bar. There could be reserved seating but mostly looked like first come, first served. We eventually got seats from gentlemen who were willing to get up. But it's a dance party so you won't be seated long. The rooftop bar was extremely busy so we got drinks in the lobby. The service on the rooftop and lobby bar was over extended. They needed more staff to support the crowd. Eventually we ordered food as it seemed more staff came in to help. We shared chicken wings and the flat bread pizza. The wings were a good size and come with potatoes. More like breakfast potatoes, not fries. They were rather salty and not very good. The flat bread pizza was tasty. Their menu included other starters, sandwiches, salads and desserts. We had cocktails - old fashioned, vodka and cranberry, and a Moscow mule. Good size and tasty. Overall, the band - The DJ Wright Band and DJ Eclazz were why we came! Love the lighting, this entire hotel is very instagram-able! I got the honey jalapeño hush puppies, they were good! The Salomon sliders were basic, but the fries were good! Hanging out in Atlanta for the evening so I met up with some friends and my cousin to hang out! My cousin said this place had an awesome atmosphere and good food, so we hit it up! Atmosphere/Appearance: On the top floor of the AC Hotel and Moxy Atlanta is this gem. It's so open, inviting and fun. The bar is covered so in case of bad weather you can hang out under there, but the weather was beautiful so we sat out in the open. Service: I can't remember the name of the gentleman who took care of us, but he was great. I had no complaints. Food: For my entree I grabbed a simple burger. It doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore, but it was a juicy burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and gouda cheese. It was straightforward and delicious. The seasoned fries were pretty amazing as well. Value: Well, it's downtown Atlanta on the rooftop of a hotel. Lol. Do the math. I'm messing around. BEWARE!!! The service at High Note is absolutely unacceptable. We had a reservation for 3PM and were completely ignored upon arrival, no greeting, no direction. After standing around awkwardly, someone finally told us to "sit anywhere." From there, it only got worse. It took 20 minutes just to get a menu, and even after 30 more minutes, still no food, not even water. At 3:40, I asked to speak with a manager. He didn't bother coming to our table until 3:50, and even then, he didn't offer a single apology until I pointed out how rude that was. They're clearly understaffed, only one server for the entire rooftop, which would be understandable if the management showed even a shred of accountability. But they didn't. To top it off, they don't validate parking, and apparently neither does the hotel, so we paid just to stand around for an hour with no food, no drinks, no service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Weather's great, so why not hit up a rooftop bar? I booked a table for my friends and I. Easy booking. The bar is at a hotel, so parking was easy to find in their garage. However, 1 employee said there was validation for parking. Another said that's not a thing, so I ended up paying $20+ for parking. But lets get into the spot itself... Cute bar with cute vibes at the AC Hotel. You can park in the hotel parking garage, they share it with the Moxy hotel and some other attached locations. They do not validate. My friends made reservations. We did not need them. We walked right in and sat ourselves. It was not very busy for a Friday night. It had a quiet intimate vibe, more hotel guests than anything. The server and bartender were very personable and attentive. Food came out really fast. My kale ceasar salad was ok. I'm a Caesar salad lover tho. It needed a better dressing. My espresso martini was good and so was my glass of champagne. My friend enjoyed the sliders and his rum and coke. We would come back and vibe especially in the summertime. read more

I went to the High Note Rooftop Bar for a friend's birthday. You pay to park in the hotel's garage. It was kind of weird that when you take the elevator up, you see the pool on one side and then the bar is on the other. When I arrived, there were lots of people and the ambiance is nice. They have string lights hanging, and different options for seating. So it's a pretty nice place to have a small event! However, for a rooftop bar, there is no view. It is surrounded by much taller buildings and the bar is midway up to the tallest level of those buildings. The service was good. I got the peach burrata since it was the cheapest item on the menu ($12). I was extremely disappointed. It was plated nicely, but the combination of stale bread, cream cheese, peaches that had no flavor, balsamic vinaigrette sauce, and parsley did not work at all. A good rooftop bar, but service was a bit lacking the last few times my fiance and me went there. The most recent visit was one on a Sunday afternoon around 5pm, there were a few of us this time. We each order a few items which our server said,"We have those items for sure." A few minutes to maybe 15 minutes go by and the server comes back to say, "We don't have those items." No other other options being offered and we decide that we rather take our business elsewhere. The missing items was not so much the problem as much as the server not really wanting to server us, the guy was fairly on the young side which isn't a problem outside of him seeming as he rather be somewhere else. The view was much better a few years(more like 5 years ago), the vibe is pretty cool for a drink or two but not for food(the items) that we were more or less were looking for in our most recent visit. He did a great job considering and was very attentive even when the place filled up. The vibe was great if you want a laid back relaxing time where people aren't doing the most. Wish I could leave zero stars. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. My wife and I made a reservation for a cabana on labor day from 4-10. Upon arrival, we head directly to the rooftop, where our waiter greets us. We show our reservation, and she walks us to a sofa area with some shade. After a few hours of enjoying the champagne and food, we are approached by a manager by the name of Tiffany. (Tiffany, you're gonna be a star on yelp). Tiffany explains to us that we are seated at the wrong section, and that the price for a sofa seating area was $200 (Mind you, we prepaid $180 for the cabana, so it was ultimately a $20 difference). I tell Tiffany about what appeared to be a simple mix up, and we were about to leave so they can accommodate whoever the section is for. She then tells me that I am going to be responsible for the $200 payment for the sofa section. I explained to her that we already prepaid a reservation for a cabana, and were seated here by our waiter. This was our first time here and we're simply following direction on where we were supposed to be. She then insisted it was our responsibility to know we were in the wrong area b/c our name wasn't on a sign next to the section (which we didn't even notice there was a sign until she pointed it out), and that we didn't follow the proper protocol of checking in with the front desk, and are somehow responsible for where the waiter sat us. Confused and getting frustrated, I reiterate that this is our first time, nobody instructed us we did anything incorrect, and also the same waiter had sat multiple people at different cabanas (never saw an escort from the front desk, not to mention they wouldn't know where to sit us). Tiffany then tried to say that we enjoyed "the experience" of their champagne and chefs dish, and that's why we needed to pay. We showed her that our cabana experience that was prepaid INCLUDED CHAMPAGNE, literally the only difference was sitting in a "cabana" or "sofa" (mind you, EVERY CABANA HAS A SOFA). Instead of accepting any accountability, she brushed off any help whatsoever and said if we get charged then it's on us to correct. She was very unpleasant and raised her voiced at one point. My wife and I literally had to go to the front desk, explain the situation to the attendant there, and she walked us back up to high note. After going to the back she came back out and explained that we wouldn't be charged for the mishap and apologized for our inconvenience. We also found out that our star of the show Tiffany was 3 hours late to work, which is why she never caught the mix up until we were in the section for hours. Long story short, either demote Tiffany, get her some extensive training, or let her go. Literally fumbled what would have been a repeat customer that would have bought that section 10 more times had this been a great experience. read more

We were told that the kitchen had to be reset and our orders couldn't be placed until 8:30pm. That was fine with us, we were enjoying the vibe. At 9:20pm the manager told the waiter to tell us that they were out of food. So we left and went down stairs because we were guest at the hotel. Therefore I ordered chicken fingers which was very pricey only to get four. I ordered the terrace for a drink it was $16. The service was okay nothing spectacular. I didn't feel like they went out there way to make sure everything was okay. If you go on a Sunday parking is free. They will not tell you. I felt like it was very deceiving because we paid for parking and to find out it was free. Overall I did enjoy my time however I spent $43 for two drinks and 4 chicken fingers. I really like the addition of this rooftop bar to the Midtown scene. Great location, but parking can be a bit of a drag unless you want to pay the rates of the attached parking deck or surrounding lots. Once you get to the rooftop the space is nice and open with various areas for you and your friends to sit and enjoy the fresh air and neighboring skyline views. There is a central bar, though I wish there was additional seating on the far side of the bar since the current number of seats at the bar can seem a bit limited during busier times. The bartenders were friendly and a lot of fun, but though the drinks were pretty, they were not that strong or impressive for the price. Overall, I would go back for the ambience, but I need to do some more exploring of their menu to find a couple potential faves. read more

Parking was not hard to find, there is a parking garage paid about $8 but I was only there for about 30 minutes. The drinks Princess Peach and Honey Dip were both great ! It was very creative how it was presented in the honey bottle and the pouch with characters to match the theme. I would recommend. The food ughh! I had such high hopes for this place based off of the food pictures, but was extremely disappointed. I had planned to order quite a few items on the menu to sample the different types of food they had to offer. I started off with the Impossibly Sloppy, Korean BBQ Wings and Smashed Avocado which all bland and not seasoned well at all! The wings were over cooked and burnt. The Avocado smashed literally taste like nothing! The service was okay, The server wasn't attentive at all. This is a new location, space is nice although as far as roof top bars in Atlanta goes, the view is nothing to write home about, its more of a open concept bar that allows you to look up at the sky and wish upon a star. The standard pour is 1.5 oz and there is a 3 dollar upcharge they do not tell you about to make it a 2 oz pour. I have traveled extensively through out the world (prior NAVY) and have never paid 19.00 for a 2 oz (NEAT) pour of Johnny Walker Black. The bar manager David did remove the up charge ( Gracias David). I don't mind spending my money. When we arrived to the rooftop this past Saturday there was no employees present. there was a line of people waiting at the bar to be served. A manager showed up walked past everyone and did not acknowledge any of us as he stood with the back door open speaking to the bartender who was apparently in the back room behind the bar. I made eye contact with him multiple times and he still continued to ignore everyone. After those 10mins the bartender came out and said she was the only one there working for the entire rooftop so we would not be able to be served food so we decided to leave. Then the bartender said they validate parking but when i put my ticket in the rooftop machine it charged me $20. So she told me to go downstairs to checkin to ask for validation assistance. After going downstairs there was no registration booth and only a bar with another missing bartender. After waiting 10mins for him to arrive with again multiple people waiting to be served, he told me the hotel does not validate or manage the parking garage and to use the assistance button on the parking call box. After leaving, my parking ticket was clocked by the parking meter as 28mins which was under 30mins which was listed as a $5 fee however the machine was trying to still charge me $20. When i pushed the assistance button the lady who answered was very very rude and told me it's $20 for weekend parking and she is not responsible for the restaurant not being able to serve us and we would not be allowed to leave without paying $20. That was one of the worst experiences and I can understand being short staffed however I cannot accept being ignored, being given the run around, not knowing the parking policy, no one taking accountability for parking, and being charged $20 to park for less than 30mins even though not being able to be served after making brunch reservations only 2hrs before arrival. Meh. This place is really cute but I'd hardly call it a great rooftop only because the view isn't that great and it's not what I'd consider high up in the sky. I prefer rooftops on really tall buildings but I digress. The drinks are ok. Be prepared to pay at least $15 for a drink which is overpriced but where aren't they in midtown? They have a really cool thing on the menu where you choose two themes (i.e. boozy and citrus) and the bartender makes you a surprise that is different every order. Just know you're taking a gamble but I love this concept! Not sure if this is temporary or a permanent thing they do. I didn't like my drink that had gin and fennel. I think I chose boozy and veggie. I was hoping to get something with basil or cucumbers lol. Our server was kind enough to add in an ounce of juice that helped a lot. I've been here twice now and the staff all seem to be pretty nice. I've not had any issues. Of course when you're going to midtown be prepared to pay for parking. They have a garage which I didn't bother trying because I found a nearby lot in walking distance (3 minutes away) and I'm sure it was cheaper at $12 for like 12 hours not that I was there nearly that long. I'd go back because it's a cute place to take pics and hang out with friends. If you've never been and looking for a cool place to hang out this is a good spot to try. This is my second and last time at this establishment. We made reservations and upon arrival we waited by the designated sign that said "wait to be seated" but no one greeted us so we had to wait until finally someone came from the back. I told them that I had a reservation and there response was "Just find an open table." The staff was not friendly at all. We were able to find an open table and immediately noticed that the menu they had online and even the one they had via QR Code was incorrect. Our server was not knowledgeable on the wine selections or food items. I wanted to get a specific entree but I was told that they no longer serve it, even though it was on the menu. Our waiter was not attentive and told us that they didn't have many items that was on the menu. I settled for the Oaxacan Chili Wings and it was not good. The waiter told me not to get the Guajillo Chili Sauce and Lemon Zest sauce added because it wasn't good and I'm glad I listened. The food was subpar. Also I didn't like that 20% gratuity was added plus they did not validate so we had to pay a high price for parking. We planned a night stay at the Moxy as a local getaway for the weekend. The High Note is the bar connected to the hotel so it was a super convenient option. We arrived at 6pm and the seating was super safe for Covid/social distancing. They require you to wear a mask while walking around and entering the restaurant and staff wear a mask so I felt safe. The drinks were fairly priced and delicious! I loved the option to have the bartender make your drink based on two taste choices!
