The rooftop bar was extremely busy so we got drinks in the lobby. The service on the rooftop and lobby bar was over extended. They needed more staff to support the crowd. Our server had set up our table adorned with lovely pink tea cups, tinted water glasses, a decorative plate, and folded napkins. Our server was so professional and let us know about the Girl Dinner on Thursdays too. We enjoyed our sandwiches, little desserts, and scones. We stepped away for just a few minutes to discuss our plans and decided we'd go to the bar and lounge. When we returned, the hostess completely changed her story and said that while it's usually walk-in, it wasn't that day. It was a confusing and frustrating experience. I've never been told I couldn't walk into a bar to order a drink, especially after being told moments earlier that it was an option. If the policy had changed because the bar reached capacity, that would have made sense--but that wasn't what we were told. The inconsistent communication left a bad impression, and unfortunately we took our business elsewhere.
