Spicy popcorn
Nathan D.

Dropped in after a show at abv gallery. We ended up getting a few things and sharing. Food was decent.. we got the spicy popcorn, poutine, and a dip.. to b honest I like the popcorn more than anything else. The other stuff wasn't bad. I guess just not really for me. If I could give another half star I easily would. Service was good and we were seated pretty quickly.

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times since I gathered my notes/pics and actually submitted this review. As we pulled up closer to the restaurant, I was figuring out the parking situation when I noticed they actually have a midsize lot reserved just for restaurant guests--free of charge We walked in, passing by the patio, and were warmly greeted at the entrance. We let them know we were a party of two hoping to sit outside, and they quickly accommodated us. We were handed a couple of menus and started to review all our options. The beer list was serious--super extensive. I needed a few minutes to make a decision. Wifey asked for a Blue Moon, but unfortunately, they didn't have it. While we kept reviewing the menu, our server did mention a special appetizer: pork empanadas. We were intrigued and decided to give them a shot. There were a bunch of hazy IPAs on the list, and the server was great about bringing out a few tasters to help me make a final decision. I ended up going with the New Lord from Magnanimous Brewery, which hit the spot. I also asked about the Nashville hot chicken sandwich--wanted to know how spicy it really was. The server let me know it wasn't too hot, but they could put the sauce on the side, which worked perfectly for me. Wifey went with a combo of southern inspired sides: collard greens and mac & cheese. The greens even came with a cornbread muffin, which was a cool bonus. Our empanadas arrived first--crispy, flavorful, this turned out to be a great recommendation from our server. Not long after, the rest of the food followed. My chicken sandwich had an amazing crunch, and while the hot sauce on the side wasn't particularly spicy, the flavor was solid. The sandwich came with a nice small side salad. Wifey enjoyed her Southern-inspired sides but did mention the collard greens were a bit on the salty side. I asked for a couple more beer samples to decide on round two and ended up going with another New Lord Hazy IPA. As we sat there, we noticed the place was buzzing with activity--it's clearly a popular spot. All in all, we really enjoyed our first visit. Great vibes, solid food, and awesome service. I would suggest sitting on the open patio to do some people watching, as you hang out. Definitely planning to come back and explore more of the menu. Instagram: @whatsthenextmemory

Was in the area, and was starving and passed Argosy. It has always been on my list so I decided to finally eat there, so glad I did. Super cool space, the server was great one of the best smash burgers I've ever had, juicy and flavorful. I will without a doubt be back! You're welcome.

One of my favorite " dive " bars to go to for pizza and beer. The ambience is great and the food is actually really good

Argosy is a gorgeous restaurant, with a mountain cabin feel. A lot of delicious beer to choose from and I heard their pizza is really good. Service was great. We had the poutine and we loved it.

We hit up Argosy late night with zero expectations, especially considering my allergies (gluten, corn, and oats). But let me tell you -- they held it the f** down*. I had this chicken dish in a rich tomato sauce with vegetables, and it was incredible. The flavors were on point, the food came out hot and fresh, and those cocktails? Fire. Even at a time when most places are wrapping up, Argosy was delivering like it was peak dinner hour. Highly recommend -- if they're this good late night, imagine any other time of day. A whole vibe.

Boss hog! Damn Rodger can make a pie! Best pizza I've had all year and I'm not bullshitting because that's my boy!

Good craft beer selection and great pizza. Rodger can hook up that pie. Damn! Best pie I've had in a minute. Better than anticos.

Great spot! The inside is very cool and very spacious. They have a nice combo of inside, outside, and hybrid dining. We enjoyed a delightful cheeseburger and Mac & cheese. Those were the standouts. They have a nice large list of beers, cocktails, and wine. A friendly rainbow flag hangs in the entrance~ thank you!!

My friends and I always enjoy the ambiance, the drinks are always delicious, and the burger is one of the best I've had in Atlanta.

They offer fresh basil, spices, cheese and other things. Also have paper plates and cups to grab. I like the open style kitchen and seatings it makes you feel at home. They have seating up front that is closed off and bar style areas you can stand and eat if you're alone or not in a big group. I think they have outside seating too. We got margarita, pizza, and one with pepperoni and it was really delicious. The cheese pulled on some of the pizzas, but I had to heat mine up for her to get that full melted caramelized look. I like mine a little more crunchy so I just put it in the oven for a little bit longer. The flavor was still pure and fresh and really tasty. I would suggest asking or adding on extra basil. They do sprinkle it on or the cheese covers it.

Disappointing Food Quality and Poor Customer Experience…read more Unfortunately, my visit left a lot to be desired. The pizza arrived with a noticeably burnt crust -- not the charred, Neapolitan-style char that some places intentionally aim for, but genuinely overcooked to the point where it affected the overall flavor and texture of the dish. What made the experience worse was the interaction with the owner. Rather than being met with hospitality, the exchange felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a dining establishment, the attitude of those running it matters just as much as the food itself.

The restaurant is quite small so if you're dining with a large party to go, might be your best bet. However, they did not stop us me and my best friend and my toddler ordered a few things off the menu and a couple of cocktails (obviously not the toddler). The peach Bellini and espresso martini were made really well. The espresso martini had a perfect foam that was just the right thickness and they do not use an insane amount of Baileys, which was a plus for me. We got the margarita pizza add spicy, Italian sausage and the hot honey char pizza as well as the meatballs. Everything had wonderful flavoring, everything was cooked to perfection in the food came out at the perfect temperature. Everything was priced appropriately. For my half of the bill I had the hot honey jar, pizza, and the espresso martini. My total was like $29 or something like that. Our waitress was awesome! She was super relaxed, very helpful, and was great to have a small conversation with. I feel bad that I can't remember her name, but she has blonde hair and cool piercings and jewelry. 10 out of 10 would recommend! And I definitely have found my new favorite pizza place.

Often times American/Italian food can get very rich or overdone on the interpretation of spices to satisfy the western palate. This was a delightful surprise. We will definitely be back. I would have went 5 on this one but the wine list was not compatible with the overall experience. The wine list seemed to cater to a much higher end experience. I was really comfortable with the environment, but it's definitely not an elegant atmosphere. For example, a restaurant should not offer a $150 bottle of Clos Pegas and then wrap utensils in a paper napkin. It was a very relaxed enjoyable experience and the food was amazing!!

If only I snagged some pictures of it! Our service was quick to begin with and got a bit slower as it got busier, but food came out quickly which is the important part! I got their Margherita pizza because I was interested in their ricotta stuffed crust. It was certainly one of the prettiest pizzas I've had! It also tasted pretty good. The crust was folded over into points where the ricotta was, which might have also helped the pizza be very stable and not too floppy. I'd say this pizza was close to a NY-style pizza.

Maybe next time, and maybe a whole pie instead, as I'm not typically a fan of pizza that stays out on the counter for a bit. That's just me, I bet this is usual, so no points off to them for this. I decided to grab The Marino from their menu. I really enjoyed the meatballs. They were super flavorful, a lot better than most places. The bread they used seemed to have been more on the Ciabatta side. The texture of the bread was soft and not hard to bite into. The sauce was not doused on this, which was great for me, so I didn't get any in my beard. It said panini, but I didn't sense the bread was pressed at all. Maybe there is something different about this in Italy that I'm not aware of? The sandwich was great overall, I wish it was larger or had an option to be larger. At $9.99, I really can't complain. Coulda just gotten two. Maybe next time! :D The shop is really cool and carries a lot of Italian/EU imports. I was able to find a jar of Nutella that is imported, which if you know, imported Nutella taste different than US Nutella and comes in a glass jar instead of plastic and taste creamier. They also had lots of pastas, sauces and candies. Some Easter stuff leftover as well at the time of this post. EU easter candy is better than American easter candy. :D When you walk in, the line sort of leads to the back and you make your way up to the front. In the glass, there are various burrata's available for around $8 each. Good for making your own pizza or perhaps an Italian dish. I didn't pay attention to what milk was used, but this is Georgia, so you make do. The drinks are all canned or bottled. They had some imported sparkling waters. You can tell by the fact that the caps don't twist off and are attached to the bottle intentionally because the EU requires this to avoid pollution by people leaving bottle caps all over the place. The young lady at the counter super knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. She was very sweet and good to talk to. I came after a lunch rush, so she asked me to pick a seat and let her know so she can clean it up. Very much appreciated that. Place is a little small and not a lot of seats. If you happen to come during lunch hour, be prepared to get the order to go and sit outside or across in the park center of the square. It's very well maintained from the looks of it and would be a great picnic area. Overall, I enjoyed this location very much. I would definitely come again to try some of their other offerings.
