This was my first time returning to Grana since I came in 2023 and 2024, both of which were exceptional experiences. While the food, ambiance, and ingenunity of Grana remains unmatched (more on that to come) my most recent experience was marred by one thing: the service. The waitress we had that evening was abysmal. She was super low energy and slow, and just seemed mentally clocked out the whole time. We had planned to make something of a night of Grana, but after 30 minutes of her bringing down the vibe we opted to finish our food and grab our second drinks at another place nearby. I'm a former server and understand you can have off-days, but for a server to be totally checked out like that when everyone's spending $35+ isn't really acceptable. Aside from that, though, Grana was still great. The food was superb, and I thought the menu selection was cool and well thought-out. The general vibe and ambiance was great as well. Grana has become one of our new pickup intake homes after church and after the gym. You can order online for take-away or make a reservation on OpenTable to eat in. The first time we ordered to-go, the order got messed up, so the restaurant gave me a glass of Prosecco while I waited, but it was so fast Ionly got in a few sips. Once we got her, we enjoyed the margarita pizza with pepperoni and their Caesar salad. The pizza is baked to perfection in a brick oven. The toppings are plentiful, and the cheese is so cheesy it strings. The salad is large enough for two, and their Caesar dressing is so good that I dip my crust in it. read more

I live down the street and have been wanting to try Grana for a while so I walked over there Tuesday after work and tried their happy hour. Happy hour is mon-fri from 4-6. The place is beautiful inside and I like that they have bar seating and a rooftop. I sat at the bar and ordered pizza (the one with the bacon) , ceasar salad , a drink and carbonara pasta. The service was good, food came out fresh and hot. Pizza was delicious, pasta was cheesy and seasoned perfectly and drink was good! Caesar salad was okay it needed more dressing. Fun space, would be great with a large party. Our waiter was perfectly attentive and gave us a good once over of the menu since it was our first time there. We weren't starving, so my bf and I started with one of the meatballs (I think it was just called "the grana" and it was a pretty basic meatball, nothing too special...I would like to try some of the other more creative sounding ones. Then we split the chicken parm with the side of spaghetti. HUGE portion. We both ate a lot and I brought home enough left overs that I had a problem finishing it the next day. I did enjoy Grana, as the food was good and had nice cocktails. What I didn't enjoy was the somewhat lack of professionalism among the staff. Our server was rather slow and also a bit unkind during interactions. I also did not love the somewhat awkward "valet only" parking situation. They also have outdoor seating on both the patio and balcony, which is perfect during warm weather. For appetizers, we ordered Mommy's Meatballs and the Chicken Cutlets-both were delicious, and the chicken cutlets were a huge portion. For pasta, we went with the Cavatelli with bolognese, sage velouté, and ricotta salata. I'm usually not a bolognese girl, but my boyfriend recommended it-and it did not disappoint. I loved the pasta shape, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. We also ordered a side of roasted broccolini with aleppo crema, lemon, and sesame, which paired really well with everything. Came here with a friend who loves Italian. I am not a fan of Italian food . To begin we got here 10 pm on a Friday night. I think they close at 11pm. So dinner service was winding down for the night and besides a few other patrons we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. When you walk in there is a cute bar and large tables to sit at (great for family style). In the back are regular tables and booths. Lots of seating, great for larger parties. Our server was excellent giving great recommendations. To start we had the meatball flight which we really enjoyed. Next We got the garlic bread.... Which was essentially a pizza. I got the Roni pizza as my entree. We got the Peccheri to share (I love short rib). My date had the chicken parmigiana. Overall the food was tasty. This is by far one of my favorite spots for a classic pepperoni pizza. The flavor is outstanding and robust, topped with honey chili oil--chef's kiss! I also love their rooftop patio, which features high-top tables and cozy couch seating around fire pits. The indoor space is just as aesthetically pleasing. We're from out of town and were overwhelmed with the amount of dinner options, not knowing what is good and what is overrated. We searched for so long and finally landed on this place. However, our actual server was not very attentive, and the food itself was so bland. I had the Paccheri which is the short rib pasta, and it was all just mushy and bland. Grana is a modern Italian restaurant that has dishes reminiscent of southern Italian cuisine. We tried their wood fire oven roasted pizza and their meatball flight and they both were exquisite. I had a lot of high expectations when eating at this restaurant because I heard really good reviews however I was pretty disappointed in the food and service. Me and my friends ordered three different pizzas and a salad, and they said that the salad was extremely dry and could've easily been made at home. The pizzas were also slightly undercooked and soggy, and it was still yummy, but it wasn't the best Italian I had in Atlanta. As for the service, my friends do not eat pork, and we asked if they could remove the pork meatballs from the meatball flight so that they weren't touching the other beef meatballs. However, the server said that was not possible which I thought was laughable. Overall, I don't think I would come back due to the food, the service and the price. So, I wanted to come here for a birthday dinner in their rooftop; however, it stormed that day so it wasn't open. I'd say service and food are definitely four stars. Everything we ate was food. The portions were huge, more like a family sized portion but I'm glad we had leftovers for the next day. The chicken parm and potatoes were great as were the Brussel sprouts. I didn't care for the broccolini as the sauce and sesame wasn't as good a combo to me as it seemed (and I love broccolini!) The drinks were nice and refreshing (I can't remember the names but check my pics). Ambiance- the decor is nice. The tables are rather close. Since it was raining hard, there was some type of leak from the ceiling so the table next to us had to move. I also had to change the siding the table sat on because I could feel some water droplets but they didn't get on the table. There's not much they can do about a leak until the building owner fixes that. What gets me to probably not come back even though the food was good is that there were a ton of fruit flies. Visited on a Sunday evening for dinner, party of 6. We had a reservation and were able to be seated a few minutes earlier. The Caesar salad was really good and tasted fresh. The serving size was enough for two people to split. I shared a meal with one other person. We ordered the wild mushroom pizza and the rigatoni pasta. The pizza was really good. I liked the added balsamic glaze drizzle on top. The pasta was good as well, a hint of spicy and had a spoonful of ricotta cheese on top. Both the pasta and pizza was super flavorful. For my birthday instead of a dessert they gave me a glass of Prosecco which was nice. One person in the party couldn't have dairy and was easily able to customize their pizza to have it removed which was a plus. I would definitely return to try more things on the menu. read more

All I have to say is Grana is definitely worth trying! It took me way too long to try the menu out as I heard about the restaurant at least 2 years ago and pass it many times on Piedmont Road. The style of the restaurant along with some conversations I overheard are what finally got me to order! I ordered a Meatball Flight with 2 New Yorker Style Pizzas (BOGO), and Crispy Potatoes. All items were packaged so nicely I can only image how food is plated in restaurant. The Pizza's were very good! They definitely use quality ingredients and I tasted some type of floral taste on the crust! I've never tasted that before. I ordered the New Yorker because it was apart of the BOGO deal but I think it's one of their more traditional pizzas. They have an abundance of other unique options. The meatball flight was a fun appetizer and very tasty. My least favorite was the one with the raisins, yes raisins! Lol... Last the crispy potatoes were tasty as well but not my favorite. I did enjoy the spicy aioli atop. I used leftovers for breakfast and made them more crispy in the Air Fryer! I'm definitely ordering again as they have a huge assortment of Pastas, Antipasti items and just lots of authentic Italian items. This is definitely a place perfect for a date night or girls night out. With the low lighting and open floor plan it's very romantic but not too fancy smancy especially during dusk. Everything we had was so flavorful. One small thing was the calamari had more veggies than calamari but the flavor was still there. I've been meaning to check out Grana sooner especially as I frequent Grindhouse across the street so often and now that I have, WOW I missed out!! A couple friends and I got dinner on a Monday night. There's a valet parking right next to the building and you just tip what you want. My other friends also parked residential past Grindhouse or got permission from the valet to park in the Sprouts deck down the street. We had a reservation and were seated immediately on the rooftop which was SO NICE! We were blessed with a great sunset that night, but the roof itself is super cute and vibey. I could see myself spending HOURS here. Our service was a little slow, but for a summer night catching up with friends, I didn't mind. I got the Basil Giardino which was super refreshing and my friends really liked their Spring Fling cocktails as well. We ended up splitting a few things including the garlic bread, insalata di fragola, gnocchi sorrentino, and potato pizza. The garlic bread was super cool as it was more of just an uber-cheesy, garlicky pizza but it was so delicious!! The salad was also so flavorful and unexpected! It had arugula, strawberry, basil, fennel, chevre, pistachios, lemon vinaigrette, and chili honey which was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. The gnocchi was super pillowy and soft and I was using my pizza crusts to mop up the remaining sauce. But the star had to be the potato pizza. OH MY GOSH it was so good!! I came here with my wife to celebrate an anniversary. I have been here before with some friends, but this was my second time back. I made a reservation just to be safe, as it was a Friday night. When we arrived, they said it would be another 20-30 minutes, to which I was a little taken aback by, but I was like that's fine. They ended up seating us all the way upstairs in this back corner, with such bright light. We just weren't feeling this spot. I went back downstairs and asked the host/hostess if we can wait for another table that's downstairs, and they said sure. I went back upstairs and then (I believe) the manager came and told us our table was ready, and escorted us to our table downstairs, it was a better table no doubt. We then got to ordering our food. Beforehand while we were waiting for our first table, we got a bottle of wine at the bar. The bartender was very nice and let us even try two of the ones we wanted to sample, before we made our decision. Wine was great! For starting out, we both shared the fried mozzarella. They were essentially longer and thicker mozzarella sticks. They were really good! We then got the pepperoni pizza and the lemon bucatini. When we got the lemon bucatini, we tried it, and it did not taste good at all. It just tasted very bland and had no flavor. We asked if we could swap it out with something else, and our server said no problem at all. We ended up getting the ravioli instead...a much better selection. Had more flavor and was very saucy! The pizza was also great too. In my opinion, it was the best thing we had. My wife would probably agree too. Highly recommend getting this pizza. They have 11 different pizzas, so if pepperoni isn't your thing, you're bound to find something you like. For dessert, our served gave us these sheets where you can build your own cannoli. He comped us the cannoli, as it was our anniversary, which was very kind of him. Our server was awesome! He engaged in conversation with us, and was never too pushy about anything. I believe his name was Noah. He was awesome! But for the Cannolis, you can choose the outside, the filling, and the toppings. I can't remember what we did ours with, but it was SO GOOD. The inside of Grana is pretty big, so it's perfect for a date night or even larger groups. When we first got sat upstairs, there was a party of about 10 sitting up there. And then downstairs, they had some parties of 6-8 as well. I am not too familiar with the parking situation, as we Ubered here. They do have a rooftop as well, but during the colder months, they keep it closed. But I'm sure when it warms up outside, it's a nice spot to enjoy some food and drinks. Honestly, I get the Grana hype after going. They have free valet parking but of course be sure you tip. We grabbed a res online, but don't think you need need one. The inside is quite large and decorated in a modern rustic way. It is kinda bright here for dinner which is a bit off putting but it is what it is. My friend and I grabbed the meatball flight and calamari for our apps. The meatball flight was so cute and I'm glad we got it to try the assortment of the meatballs, but don't think I need to get it again. Calamari was so delish!! I had a reservation for part of 4 at 12:15pm they had just opened for the day so not busy at all for a Saturday. Parking: complementary valet and you tip if you choose to do so. Pizzas: the cheese bread was definitely a delectable dish that is shareable for a part of 4 (8 or 6 slices). Would recommend if you're looking for a light lunch as a stand alone or to share between small children. The New Yorker was flavorful hot and the cheese was melted to perfection. You could taste the fresh oregano on the pizza. Favorite dish hands down was the Potato pizza it provided that sweet and savory, just what I was craving!!! Had the best pasta dishes here! The Cavatelli and the Paccheri were amazing. However, I did switch my Cavatelli noodles for the Paccheri noodles which was a great call. Grana used to offer a gluten free pappardelle noodle that was to die for. I miss it and have not visited in a long time because they no longer offer it. They also removed the beef carpaccio from the menu which was saddening too because it was the best in Atlanta! Please bring back both of these items. Our server Noah was awesome as well. He was quick to refill our drinks, provide pasta recommendations, and make sure we were taken care of.
