Rigatoni, Paccheri
Hannah G.

We're from out of town and were overwhelmed with the amount of dinner options, not knowing what is good and what is overrated. We searched for so long and finally landed on this place. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing for the price point. We loved the meatball flight, and the person who brought them to our table gave a fabulous presentation explaining each one. However, our actual server was not very attentive, and the food itself was so bland. I had the Paccheri which is the short rib pasta, and it was all just mushy and bland. My friend got the Rigatoni which to me tasted like regular jarred vodka sauce, and her boyfriend got a pizza, which was just okay. Overall none of us finished our food and left feeling unsatisfied.

Meatballs and Wine! After a trip from Nashville, I wanted meatballs and Wine! And the Mama Meatballs and The Calabrian Rose did great as a pair! The service is amazing! The atmosphere isn't snobby so that I liked as well!

I live down the street and have been wanting to try Grana for a while so I walked over there Tuesday after work and tried their happy hour. Happy hour is mon-fri from 4-6. The place is beautiful inside and I like that they have bar seating and a rooftop. I sat at the bar and ordered pizza (the one with the bacon) , ceasar salad , a drink and carbonara pasta. The service was good, food came out fresh and hot. Pizza was delicious, pasta was cheesy and seasoned perfectly and drink was good! Caesar salad was okay it needed more dressing. I would come here again an try more menu item.

Apparently they have named their pizza ovens. Sophia

Fun space, would be great with a large party. Our waiter was perfectly attentive and gave us a good once over of the menu since it was our first time there. We weren't starving, so my bf and I started with one of the meatballs (I think it was just called "the grana" and it was a pretty basic meatball, nothing too special...I would like to try some of the other more creative sounding ones. Then we split the chicken parm with the side of spaghetti. HUGE portion. We both ate a lot and I brought home enough left overs that I had a problem finishing it the next day. I'm realizing now they didn't offer any bread for the table, maybe that's a menu item as so many places are doing now? Anyway, I'd like to go back and try the pizza, I love that they name the ovens and one is named Sophia (my daughter's name!)

Came here with a friend who loves Italian. I am not a fan of Italian food . To begin we got here 10 pm on a Friday night. I think they close at 11pm. So dinner service was winding down for the night and besides a few other patrons we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. When you walk in there is a cute bar and large tables to sit at (great for family style). In the back are regular tables and booths. Lots of seating, great for larger parties. Our server was excellent giving great recommendations. To start we had the meatball flight which we really enjoyed. Next We got the garlic bread.... Which was essentially a pizza. I got the Roni pizza as my entree. We got the Peccheri to share (I love short rib). My date had the chicken parmigiana. Overall the food was tasty. I am not a fan of Italian food, so while the food was tasty I wasn't wowed. The star of the night was my cannoli which was delicious. As for parking we found street parking a few steps from the restaurant.

This is by far one of my favorite spots for a classic pepperoni pizza. The flavor is outstanding and robust, topped with honey chili oil--chef's kiss! I also love their rooftop patio, which features high-top tables and cozy couch seating around fire pits. The indoor space is just as aesthetically pleasing. The service is always excellent, and the warm greetings upon arrival add to the experience. Grana is truly a favorite of mine. They offer plenty of other great dishes on the menu, so don't hesitate to explore. Plus, they offer complimentary valet parking, which is a nice bonus.

Grana is a modern Italian restaurant that has dishes reminiscent of southern Italian cuisine. We tried their wood fire oven roasted pizza and their meatball flight and they both were exquisite. The cocktails were VERY good! I had the blackberry mule and an espresso martini and both were amazing. I highly recommend their Roni pizza. The sweetness of the spicy honey, paired with the savoriness of the pepperoni was sooo good! I loved the yummy twist to such a classic pizza. Our service was fast even with it being a somewhat large party. A very casual restaurant with light music in the background. Valet parking is mandatory.

LOVED this place! My boyfriend and I went on Friday and really liked it. For appetizers we ordered the Mommy's meatballs and the Fried Mozzarella. For dinner I had the gnocchi alla sorrentina and my boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana. His dish was so big two people could have eaten from it. Our server Nolan was super nice and outgoing. The restaurant is also beautiful and way bigger than we thought (they have three floors).

I had a lot of high expectations when eating at this restaurant because I heard really good reviews however I was pretty disappointed in the food and service. Me and my friends ordered three different pizzas and a salad, and they said that the salad was extremely dry and could've easily been made at home. The pizzas were also slightly undercooked and soggy, and it was still yummy, but it wasn't the best Italian I had in Atlanta. As for the service, my friends do not eat pork, and we asked if they could remove the pork meatballs from the meatball flight so that they weren't touching the other beef meatballs. However, the server said that was not possible which I thought was laughable. Overall, I don't think I would come back due to the food, the service and the price. However, the rooftop patio had really great views and was a good vibe maybe for happy hour. It would've been better.

First time here but I can't wait to go back! A little pricey but very flavorful & different! The decorations are so pretty & the drinks are swinging! I could see this place getting super crowded in the evening so reservations are recommended!

Broccolini with a spicy sauce

So, I wanted to come here for a birthday dinner in their rooftop; however, it stormed that day so it wasn't open. I'd say service and food are definitely four stars. Everything we ate was food. The portions were huge, more like a family sized portion but I'm glad we had leftovers for the next day. The chicken parm and potatoes were great as were the Brussel sprouts. I didn't care for the broccolini as the sauce and sesame wasn't as good a combo to me as it seemed (and I love broccolini!) The drinks were nice and refreshing (I can't remember the names but check my pics). Ambiance- the decor is nice. The tables are rather close. Since it was raining hard, there was some type of leak from the ceiling so the table next to us had to move. I also had to change the siding the table sat on because I could feel some water droplets but they didn't get on the table. There's not much they can do about a leak until the building owner fixes that. What gets me to probably not come back even though the food was good is that there were a ton of fruit flies. One got into my first drink. They brought another one but we had to keep our drink and food covered. It makes you think, wth is going on in the kitchen?

Everything was so good. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh and flavorful and had great flavor. I didn't like that they didn't bring everything out at once despite us ordering together but other than that amazing. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu and sit on the roof! The inside was so beautiful but definitely need to see the views from the top.

All I have to say is Grana is definitely worth trying! It took me way too long to try the menu out as I heard about the restaurant at least 2 years ago and pass it many times on Piedmont Road. The style of the restaurant along with some conversations I overheard are what finally got me to order! I ordered a Meatball Flight with 2 New Yorker Style Pizzas (BOGO), and Crispy Potatoes. All items were packaged so nicely I can only image how food is plated in restaurant. The Pizza's were very good! They definitely use quality ingredients and I tasted some type of floral taste on the crust! I've never tasted that before. I ordered the New Yorker because it was apart of the BOGO deal but I think it's one of their more traditional pizzas. They have an abundance of other unique options. The meatball flight was a fun appetizer and very tasty. My least favorite was the one with the raisins, yes raisins! Lol... Last the crispy potatoes were tasty as well but not my favorite. I did enjoy the spicy aioli atop. I used leftovers for breakfast and made them more crispy in the Air Fryer! I'm definitely ordering again as they have a huge assortment of Pastas, Antipasti items and just lots of authentic Italian items. I was so impressed I did some research on the owner and his other restaurant The White Bull! I'll be trying that soon as well!

They have seating up front that is closed off and bar style areas you can stand and eat if you're alone or not in a big group. I think they have outside seating too. We got margarita, pizza, and one with pepperoni and it was really delicious. The cheese pulled on some of the pizzas, but I had to heat mine up for her to get that full melted caramelized look. I like mine a little more crunchy so I just put it in the oven for a little bit longer. The flavor was still pure and fresh and really tasty. I would suggest asking or adding on extra basil. They do sprinkle it on or the cheese covers it.

Disappointing Food Quality and Poor Customer Experience…read more Unfortunately, my visit left a lot to be desired. The pizza arrived with a noticeably burnt crust -- not the charred, Neapolitan-style char that some places intentionally aim for, but genuinely overcooked to the point where it affected the overall flavor and texture of the dish. What made the experience worse was the interaction with the owner. Rather than being met with hospitality, the exchange felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a dining establishment, the attitude of those running it matters just as much as the food itself.

The restaurant is quite small so if you're dining with a large party to go, might be your best bet. However, they did not stop us me and my best friend and my toddler ordered a few things off the menu and a couple of cocktails (obviously not the toddler). The peach Bellini and espresso martini were made really well. The espresso martini had a perfect foam that was just the right thickness and they do not use an insane amount of Baileys, which was a plus for me. We got the margarita pizza add spicy, Italian sausage and the hot honey char pizza as well as the meatballs. Everything had wonderful flavoring, everything was cooked to perfection in the food came out at the perfect temperature. Everything was priced appropriately. For my half of the bill I had the hot honey jar, pizza, and the espresso martini. My total was like $29 or something like that. Our waitress was awesome! Maybe next time, and maybe a whole pie instead, as I'm not typically a fan of pizza that stays out on the counter for a bit. That's just me, I bet this is usual, so no points off to them for this. I decided to grab The Marino from their menu. I really enjoyed the meatballs. They were super flavorful, a lot better than most places. The bread they used seemed to have been more on the Ciabatta side. The texture of the bread was soft and not hard to bite into. The sauce was not doused on this, which was great for me, so I didn't get any in my beard. It said panini, but I didn't sense the bread was pressed at all. Maybe there is something different about this in Italy that I'm not aware of? The sandwich was great overall, I wish it was larger or had an option to be larger. At $9.99, I really can't complain. Coulda just gotten two. Maybe next time! :D The shop is really cool and carries a lot of Italian/EU imports. I was able to find a jar of Nutella that is imported, which if you know, imported Nutella taste different than US Nutella and comes in a glass jar instead of plastic and taste creamier. They also had lots of pastas, sauces and candies. Some Easter stuff leftover as well at the time of this post. EU easter candy is better than American easter candy. :D When you walk in, the line sort of leads to the back and you make your way up to the front. In the glass, there are various burrata's available for around $8 each. Good for making your own pizza or perhaps an Italian dish. I didn't pay attention to what milk was used, but this is Georgia, so you make do. The drinks are all canned or bottled. They had some imported sparkling waters. You can tell by the fact that the caps don't twist off and are attached to the bottle intentionally because the EU requires this to avoid pollution by people leaving bottle caps all over the place. The young lady at the counter super knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. She was very sweet and good to talk to. I came after a lunch rush, so she asked me to pick a seat and let her know so she can clean it up. Very much appreciated that. Place is a little small and not a lot of seats. If you happen to come during lunch hour, be prepared to get the order to go and sit outside or across in the park center of the square. It's very well maintained from the looks of it and would be a great picnic area. Overall, I enjoyed this location very much. I would definitely come again to try some of their other offerings.
