Had a really great experience at Krog Bar - excited it's moved to the neighborhood! Because the space is fairly intimate, the restaurant doesn't accept reservations - walk in only. While you should expect a wait, they make the experience very enjoyable with a patio waiting area where you're able to order drinks from the bar. For food we started with the artichokes as recommended by our server - so delicious. However the highlight truly was the pizza. We each got our own 12inch pizza and had enough to enjoy the leftovers the next day as well! To round out the already amazing experience, I truly appreciated KR working his way around the restaurant, making sure all the guests were enjoying themselves and had everything they needed.

Pizza might be the best in Atlanta. New Haven style. Some might consider it a bit salty, but we loved it. Very small place, so be prepared to wait outside for a table. Don't go with a large group. You can get drinks while outside waiting which is great.

I really wanted to like Krog bar. After being so highly anticipated I finally made it in to check them out. The restaurant was empty besides one table outside when we arrived so it was certainly a laid back time for staff. As far as the space it's a cute and cozy space. Maybe 50'seats total and has the potential for a nice date night We started with the burrata which comes with burrata, figs, hazelnuts, and saba. When ordered we assumed it came with a transport vessel. Ie. Bread, toast, cracker, focaccia, anything. Well it did not. Maybe that was our mistake but normally when burrata is served it comes with a bread. So we sat there like maybe the bread is coming but it never did so we just ate the dish. Flavor wise it wasn't bad but it needed a toasty bread for sure. Eating it with a spoon/fork didn't do the job. For pizza we ordered a margarita and a K.r.o.g. Which is sausage, onion, tomato. The margarita was extremely bland and the sauce, which should be the star, fell flat. I had to ask for salt to even attempt to make it up. The K.r.o.g thanks to the toppings was a little better but again was almost under seasoned. Which made both kind of ehh to eat. I think we each ate one slice and boxed the rest. Then was the mortazza. Mortadella sandwich. Again maybe my expectations were wrong but the bread wasn't warmed and it was all just kind of room temperature. Everything took a little to come out so I expected fresh, hot, seasoned food. Not to mention there was no one else dining when we ordered so they weren't busy to need to rush and not give things time to heat up or make sure it was seasoned. Visually things looked good but the flavor which is what matters missed the mark. Anytime we needed anything we had to look for our server or wave someone down. There was no attentiveness. Even when asking for salt or a box for the majority of the pizza it never clicked for them to acquire about our experience. Eventually we had to hunt down the server to get the check so we could pay and leave. Aside from a being a relatively cute space I think they kind of missed a mark on everything else. Maybe it was an off night maybe I just expected too much which was simply the bare minimum of customer service and a half decent food. I'd probably lean towards one and a half star but considering how bad it was I'm gonna go with the lower side with the one.

Kevin Rathbun does it again! Excellent spot! Limited seating so get there early. Coal fired oven gives the pizza a great taste.

Food - GF crust a good but a bit thick & sauce was fair. Burnt pepperoni. Not worth $20. Pleasant service & atmosphere.

They offer fresh basil, spices, cheese and other things. Also have paper plates and cups to grab. I like the open style kitchen and seatings it makes you feel at home. They have seating up front that is closed off and bar style areas you can stand and eat if you're alone or not in a big group. I think they have outside seating too. We got margarita, pizza, and one with pepperoni and it was really delicious. The cheese pulled on some of the pizzas, but I had to heat mine up for her to get that full melted caramelized look. I like mine a little more crunchy so I just put it in the oven for a little bit longer. The flavor was still pure and fresh and really tasty. I would suggest asking or adding on extra basil. They do sprinkle it on or the cheese covers it.

Disappointing Food Quality and Poor Customer Experience…read more Unfortunately, my visit left a lot to be desired. The pizza arrived with a noticeably burnt crust -- not the charred, Neapolitan-style char that some places intentionally aim for, but genuinely overcooked to the point where it affected the overall flavor and texture of the dish. What made the experience worse was the interaction with the owner. Rather than being met with hospitality, the exchange felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a dining establishment, the attitude of those running it matters just as much as the food itself.

The restaurant is quite small so if you're dining with a large party to go, might be your best bet. However, they did not stop us me and my best friend and my toddler ordered a few things off the menu and a couple of cocktails (obviously not the toddler). The peach Bellini and espresso martini were made really well. The espresso martini had a perfect foam that was just the right thickness and they do not use an insane amount of Baileys, which was a plus for me. We got the margarita pizza add spicy, Italian sausage and the hot honey char pizza as well as the meatballs. Everything had wonderful flavoring, everything was cooked to perfection in the food came out at the perfect temperature. Everything was priced appropriately. For my half of the bill I had the hot honey jar, pizza, and the espresso martini. My total was like $29 or something like that. Our waitress was awesome! She was super relaxed, very helpful, and was great to have a small conversation with. I feel bad that I can't remember her name, but she has blonde hair and cool piercings and jewelry. 10 out of 10 would recommend! And I definitely have found my new favorite pizza place.

Often times American/Italian food can get very rich or overdone on the interpretation of spices to satisfy the western palate. This was a delightful surprise. We will definitely be back. I would have went 5 on this one but the wine list was not compatible with the overall experience. The wine list seemed to cater to a much higher end experience. I was really comfortable with the environment, but it's definitely not an elegant atmosphere. For example, a restaurant should not offer a $150 bottle of Clos Pegas and then wrap utensils in a paper napkin. It was a very relaxed enjoyable experience and the food was amazing!!

If only I snagged some pictures of it! Our service was quick to begin with and got a bit slower as it got busier, but food came out quickly which is the important part! I got their Margherita pizza because I was interested in their ricotta stuffed crust. It was certainly one of the prettiest pizzas I've had! It also tasted pretty good. The crust was folded over into points where the ricotta was, which might have also helped the pizza be very stable and not too floppy. I'd say this pizza was close to a NY-style pizza.
