I'm no stranger to taking myself out on solo dates. I can definitely say that my experience at this restaurant one of my top tier solo dates. I decided to sit out in the patio because it was a nice warm summer day. My waiter was very helpful and attentive. He was able to give great recommendations and tell me about flavor profiles for the appetizers as well as entrées. I decided to do the rosemary sea salt, focaccia, and I asked for a side of butter to go with the bread. Best decision I made. The bread was fabulous by itself, but the butter took it to another level. Not sure what kind of butter they use, but it is very high-quality and amazing. I also decided to do the broccolini as a side to accompany my oxtail rigatoni. The broccolini was cooked to perfection. Just enough char on it, but it wasn't soggy. I still had a delicious crunch to it and a little slivers of garlic on there were perfect. Lastly, let's talk about the pasta. My waiter told me that this pasta was one of the ones that definitely fills up the plate. And the oxtails was super tender. I definitely agree that the oxtail came off of the bone and was super tender. This restaurant definitely makes the top five of my favorite Italian restaurants in Atlanta. I highly recommend. Overall the food and drinks were really good and we took all the recommendations from our server and didn't regret it. Forza Storico is really good, but at this price point it's not quite 5 stars for me. The food was solid overall. I ordered the Bertu and while it was good, the portion was small and not $28 good. My friend got the carbonara, which leaned very rich. I enjoyed it, but I can see how it could be a bit much if that's not your thing. Service was excellent and the vibe is great. This is a fun spot for a birthday dinner or a celebratory night out, just know it gets SUPER packed. Definitely worth trying, just manage expectations on portions versus price. read more

First off, I believe that the restaurant is beautiful and has a chill/laid back vibe with a bit of elegance. Secondly, I believe it's overpriced with mid-tier quality of food. If you love Italian restaurants there is definitely better out there with prices that actually make sense. I for one don't understand that wine pricing but I'm not Italian so maybe it makes sense if you understand the regions and all that. I had the Cacio e Pepe and it was just alright. Our service was also just ok but they were extremely busy. I'm also removing a star because of the payment system. I will forever hate having to use an app to pick what I got and pay. For the price point of the restaurant they really shouldn't be cutting corners by making customers figure things out after enjoying a meal. This was my second time at Forza Storico and each time the food was amazing. For my cocktail I started with the pesca e tonic and it was very good, it has a peachy taste and was refreshing. For our appetizer, we did an order of the supplí and focaccia and both were amazing. I highly recommend both. For my main entree I ordered the tagliatelle alla bolognese and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ended the night with an espresso martini with Forza's version of baileys cream and it was the perfect choice. If you're looking for an elevated experience with Italian cuisine, this restaurant is for you. The lighting is low which sets the scene for a perfect intimate dinner or a date night. There were not many vegetarian options which was disappointing. We started with bread. Focaccia Bread Service $6 - very rosemary forward. We also ordered the Cavolfiore, cauliflower with a brown butter sauce for $9. It was ok. Next, we tried the Caprese Loredana, basically a caprese salad. $17 The Bertù for $28. The server warned us it was a very small portion. She wasn't kidding. It was like a ravioli with Italian sausage and brown butter. It was tasty but not worth $28. And we ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. We asked if we could add any vegetables to the rigatoni, the server said no. At this point, we had had enough of Forza Storico. We decided to get dessert elsewhere. In walking distance, there is a Jenni's ice cream. Being close to Jenni's is the best part of this restaurant. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the focaccia bread. We ordered two plates of those. Some of the pieces were too burnt for my taste, but still enjoyable. I had the carbonara and it was good. Not to die for, but good. I don't eat a lot, so the portion was good for me, but some people might find it small. My boyfriend had the rigatoni and said it was good. Wasn't impressed, but good. We ordered a few appetizers, the artichoke with lemon and the focaccia and the artichoke was really good! Small in size though, would've expected two more blossoms for a dish or at least ordered another dish for the table. Also, underwhelmed with the pasta. I wanted to really like and love it but the dish was small, overpriced for the size and drenched in butter, however what really disappointed me was the al dente and how al dente the pasta was. I got the cappelleti spinaci and the pasta was very undercooked, it just reminded me of dumplings when the sides get crispy. The filling was good though! Also the wine selection was superb, and our server was so sweet and attentive. I also throughly enjoyed my espresso martini, it was dangerously good! Such a great place that I already want to go back! We arrived and checked in for our reservation and got sat right away. There is a host stand which is where I was standing but just a few steps away looked like an ice cream cart and that is actually where the host checked me in. We went on a Tuesday and it is half off bottles so what the heck, we did got a bottle. We were celebrating a friends birthday so when he brought back the bottle and asked who was tasting, I let them know that my friend was because we were celebrating her. We ordered the cheese board and fried risotto appetizers. They have different names in the menu but completely forgot the actual names. But both great choices. The focaccia is so flavorful and flaky so expect a little bread mess. lol. We couldn't decide what to get so we ordered two different pasta dishes and decided to split them. Both so delicious, but the one that was my favorite, again, can't remember the name, but it was a pasta stuffed with cheese and Italian sausage. Chefs kiss! Highly recommend. We even saved some room for dessert and I had the affogato which had a delectable marshmallow cream on top. It was the perfect addition to an affogato that I didn't know I needed. They even sent over a complimentary espresso martini with dessert for the both of us for my friends birthday. Such a special touch and I loved that. The only reason for the 4, is that through the majority of the dining experience, there was a combination of three different servers that came to check on us and being food and refill water, but after dessert, no one came back and after 30 minutes, we decided to flag someone down to ask for the check. When we arrived, the evening weather was great, so we opted to sit outside on the beautiful patio. The waiter was very friendly and informative, letting us know that the Tuesday special was half off bottles of wine, so we ordered a bottle of Cabernet. I knew right away that I wanted to try the Taliatelle Alla Bolognese and my boyfriend ordered the Rigatoni Al Sugo Di Coda. Both dishes tasted phenomenal! The pasta for my dish was cooked to perfection and they added enough beef and Parmesan to complement it. For my boyfriend's dish, there was a surprisingly large portion of oxtails included that were perfectly tender. His only critique was that he wished that it came with more pasta. After we paid, we took more time to drink the rest of our wine and enjoy the calming atmosphere of the patio. Forza Storico is a restaurant with lovely outdoor seating. I really liked their outdoor patio as the courtyard and lights provided a great ambiance to the dining experience. My server was also really nice and helpful, especially when I was indecisive about what I wanted to eat. The Prosciutto e Mozzarella was SO good! The bread combined with the prosciutto and mozzarella was out of this world. I would come back here just for that appetizer. I also ordered their Linguine Al Pesto E Gamberi and it was super filling. I thought that the shrimp tasted alright, but it was a little tougher than I wanted. I think I also just prefer eating smaller shrimp in pasta. I made a reservation for a Friday evening dinner with my girlfriend at Forza Storico, and overall, the experience was outstanding. First off, parking is relatively convenient with plenty of spaces available. There is a $5 parking fee, but don't let any other charges throw you off--they're just temporary holds. Also, be sure to scan the QR code at the hostess stand to get your parking validated through the restaurant--super helpful tip! Even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated due to the restaurant's high volume, which was understandable. Once seated, I immediately noticed the ambience--the lighting is dim and cozy, but each table has a small individual lamp, which gives it a warm and intimate vibe. The furniture and decor are thoughtfully curated, giving the place a classy yet comfortable feel. It was a bit loud due to the crowd, but not overwhelmingly so--just part of the lively atmosphere. Our server was excellent--very polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I went with the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese ($27), which is house-made pasta (think long, flat ribbons similar to fettuccine) served with a rich beef and pork ragù, topped with Grana Padano cheese. Though it took about 20-25 minutes to arrive (again, due to the crowd), our server kept us well-informed and was very reassuring. When the dish arrived, it was piping hot, fresh, and incredibly flavorful--absolutely worth the wait! We also ordered the Rosemary-Sea Salt Focaccia Bread ($6), which came out warm, buttery, and perfectly soft, with just the right touch of garlic. Let me preface my review by saying my wife and I have been to Italy six times -- everywhere from northern Italy to southern Italy to central Italy. We've had eaten at lots of different restaurants there -- and we make it a point to seek out the places that aren't crappy tourist food. Also, my father is a gourmet chef who has cooked for anywhere from dozens of folks to hundreds of people... always with rave reviews with people saying (when applicable) that this was the best Italian food they've ever had... and they've been to Italy. So I think I know good Italian when I have it. Onto the review... The ambiance was nice. Nice lighting and in a nice space. The host and our server were friendly. We got a meat and cheese charcuterie board of sorts. It was $30+ -- which is a bit pricey for what we got. I wish there was a bit more of the meats. The focaccia bread was toasted nicely and the salt was perfect on it. The fig jam and honey were nice. The salami was a bit too spicy for my wife, so I let her have the limited prosciutto from the tray and I ate the salami. She ordered the cacio e pepe; I ordered the carbonara. Even though the plates themselves were warmed, the pasta itself was borderline cold. I know it got chilly outdoors when the sun went down, but I dug in the moment I got my plate. I like a good amount of black pepper on cacio e pepe, but both my wife and I thought hers had too much pepper "bite" to it. My carbonara had very limited guanciale... but I was more disappointed in the pasta texture (quite shy of al dente; it was pretty firm) and the sauce (which tasted more like egg than a creamy cheese sauce). Yes, I'm aware that carbonara has egg in it, but this looked (and tasted) like the ratio of eggs to cheese was about 2 to 2 1/2 times what it should be (based on what I've had in Italy and how I make it at home). If you're looking for Italian and it's not too far away, I'd recommend giving Mezza Luna a try in lieu of this place. read more

My first thought when I walked in the restaurant was that I loved the ambiance of this place. I came here for date night and had read reviews that it was a good date place, but it got really loud in the evenings to where you had to yell to hear each other so I was a little worried about that, but I thought the volume was perfect and the place definitely had date vibes! We had no idea what any of the dishes were on the menu so he went through it and explained all the fan favorites and answered any questions that we had. For an appetizer we got the suppli, which is a fried risotto ball with cheese and marinara sauce and it was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly crunchy and crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. They cooked it perfectly and the texture was spot on! For our pastas we got the carbonara and a tagliatelle alla bolognese, both classics in my opinion. The food came out pretty quick. I was super excited to try the pasta because all their pasta is homemade and homemade pasta just hits different. I was a little disappointed that the carbonara didn't come out with the egg yolk on top but I guess that's okay because I know see the egg yolk grosses some people out. Now the only reason I don't give this place 4 stars is because the pastas were room temperature. I like my food to be piping hot so eating room temperature pasta ruined the experience a little bit for me, especially with the carbonara because when it's not hot, the sauce gets really thick and the consistency is off. I still thought the flavors were excellent, but I think they would've been much better if they were hot. Overall, I liked my experience, I thought it was a little odd our server didn't ask us if we wanted to see the dessert menu because they usually do, but that's okay because we didn't want dessert anyways. I would recommend this place for date night and their patio space is great! Although different vibes I would say. We were able to slide in here on Saturday right after the SEC championship game and it was a scene and a half. I moved out of Atlanta so long ago that the entire Westside was new to me - I'm obsessed - and Forza was a little gem in the middle of the action. The rosemary focaccia is the single best focaccia I have EVER had - it came with the (acceptable) charcuterie board but I should have ordered the full bread service. Lesson learned. For mains, we shared the cacio e pepe, gnocchi, bolo, and the pollo alla diavalo. Cacio was delicious but a bit lumpy - which, no shade, because I can't get mine smooth at home either. I've only ever had it perfectly made in Rome, so. The bolo was delicious but the gnocchi was the absolute star. We all three agreed it was the best dish on the table. Strong wine list with a great ripasso that you can snag by the glass. The space is stunning, but I agree with other Yelpers: damn, those tables are close together.
