I visited Mezza Luna with my little family this year to celebrate my birthday and had a lovely experience. I randomly decided that I wanted Italian so we decided to check them out for the first time. Mezza Luna is located in a very small plaza with a tight parking lot. I'm so glad that I read the reviews in advance about parking, but I still wasn't prepared for what we saw. Surprisingly, there were 2 or 3 open spots when we visited around 7pm. We had reservations and were quickly seated after being greeted. The restaurant itself was quite intimate, offering only a few tables that were laid out in a manner that had us all quite close. But it worked! Since we had our son with us, they already had a high chair ready for us but he slept through the entire dinner, which also shows how peaceful it actually was in there. I started with a glass of chianti and it paired perfectly with the complimentary starter bread. That focaccia was so fresh! The crust had a great crunch but it was still soft and fluffy inside. We went with the meatball appetizer special which included 4-5 meatballs covered in marinara, fresh tomatoes and burrata. They were delicious, although the tomatoes being cold was a bit of a surprise. For dinner, I went for the chicken piccata and my partner opted for the chicken marsala. Both were great and packed with flavor. Such an unassuming place with tons of flavor waiting inside - perfect for date night or just a nice Italian dinner!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant! Hadn't been in a few years and visited recently for lunch-- was BLOWN AWAY... and learned it was new ownership since I was last there. We ordered every special because they sounded so amazing. I ended up booking a seated, curated dinner for clients of all attorneys and Drs- they took everything to the next level. Will be back personally and professionally. The food is amazing and so are the owners Stefano and Anthony (could you get any more Italian?!) and overly kind and accommodating. Plenty of parking with their own lot and two others across the street and next door!

Coming back here as a regular, I have never had a disappointing experience!! Highly, highly recommend their daily specials for dishes truly unique and flavorful, do note they tend to be pricier however. This time we got the bell pepper and smoked cheese pasta (daily special), lasagna, the arancini (daily special), and potato and leek soup (soup of the day). Everything was delicious!!!! The bell pepper with smoked cheese was superb, the creamy sauce had a hint of sweetness from the peppers but held a lot of the smoky flavor. The pancetta then added just a hint of saltiness and were flavor bombs that really complemented the entire dish!! The lasagna was also really good in terms of flavor!! The texture was very soft, almost like butter; not sure if it was intended but we preferred lasagne with more solid noodles. The flavor was unbeatable however. The starters were also really good, the arancini with meat and peas inside was so comforting and hearty, and the saffron potato and leek soup was good but had quite a delicate flavor. The dessert was an amorino tiramisu, which had very flaky layers in between cream. It was not too sweet or heavy, which was nice after our large meal. I always see the same wait staff and chef every time I come; it really feels authentic, cozy, yet elegant. Truly a special Italian place in Atlanta!!

Mezza Luna is such a wonderful date night spot! Highly highly highly recommend getting a reservation. They might as well be reservation-only. We were lucky enough to score a spot at the bar before the dinner rush came in. Food is phenomenal. Starts with bread & olive oil & balsamic and no exaggeration it's some of the best bread I've ever had. Service was attentive without hovering and food came out quickly. Being at the bar, we were able to see the kitchen & staging areas and all the staff was working efficiently, professionally, and safely. Mezza Luna is definitely somewhere we'll eat again.

This was a lovely place for an intimate night out. The small restaurant made for a special date night, and our server was helpful and excellent. She recommended great wines for us, and helped us decide on what food to order as well. My husband enjoyed the soup special, which was a creamy artichoke soup with pieces of lobster. Then we shared the chicken Saltimbocca with spaghetti and the pasta alla Amatriciana. The chicken dish had a lot of salt and pepper, but was tasty. The pasta was very nice, but the meat had a smokiness that I almost found bitter, so it wasn't the best pasta I've had in Atlanta. I will definitely return to try other menu items because it all looked great. There is a small parking lot, but you can find extra parking across the street.

Amazing place. The best Italian in the city a bit pricey but great for a date night. Me and my husband love it here. They have great service

Do you serve penne alla vodka?

    Yes we do.

Are they open for all-day dinner on Sundays? The Website says yes but I called Smyrna and the staff said 5pm. Which is correct?

Unfortunately, the service brought your score down. We had a reservation for dinner and the young lady who initially met us, did not even ask us this. She greeted us with, "we have an event going on, so seating is tight." OK - Well I have reservation. That seemed to help her find us a table. When she sat us, she handed us one menu for my wife and I. No wine list, (at a wine market) and no introduction. After 5-6 minutes, our server came out and said hello, but did not bring water or the wine list still. But, she did inform us again about the event going on. WE know restaurants are busy on weekends and even more so in the holiday season, but the constant reminders of "The event" does two things, one the servers are creating an excuse to say, you are going to receive slow service, and two, it felt like, how dare we show up during an event night. Finally on our servers 2nd visit, we were able to receive a second menu and the wine list. We ordered the 6 piece charcuterie and two glasses of wine. The server who made the charcuterie board, was very pleasant and proud of her creation, and rightfully so, the board was beautiful and delicious. We enjoyed our wine choice and decided to buy a bottle, our server, had zero wine experience. She did not present the bottle to me, (I have the wrong bottles brought out on a few occasions, and this is just a common courtesy) she uncorked the bottle, did not present the cork, she poured from the bottle into glasses that already had wine, granted we ordered the same wine, but at a wine market with a big event, maybe two new glasses should have been brought out, just in case. Then after she poured our glasses, she DROPPED the cork on the floor, picks it up and sticks in our bottle. Do your servers do that with silverware? Then she began to walk away with our bottle, I asked her to please leave the bottle on the table. She was seemed like that was an odd request. Overall, if we could give half stars, I would say 3.5 for the review, it was saved by your charcuterie server, as well as the taste and quality of the meats and cheeses, as well as the wonderful selection of wines. We will be back and hopefully, you take these comments constructively, and have your servers trained up a little more to be assets to your establishment.

My prompt to my gpt this morning included "family owned, cozy place, food that hugs you like a grandma after a long time away, etc" this is one of the best places I've been in USA so far. I also woke up idealizing to only try new things and no repeats but I've already ordered a second drink haha I absolutely don't want to leave. As soon as you walk in they greet you and help you out, then the bartender (I came by myself so I sat on the bar) approached me with the most warmth and helped me getting something according to her experience and taste but considering my taste and preferences. The food came (quick for how busy it is 12 min) The food tastes just like a grandmas food that she's been working the entire day on it. I can't wait to be back here. Also I didn't have anything the entire day and couldn't finish my plate because the amount of food is way more than decent. Place is clean, music is great and volume even better, you can see families bringing their babies to enjoy meals here. Also everyone that works here and so nice and polite even if they're not serving you this is my favorite place from now on and I will not shut about it haha adding a picture of my drink (which we are repeating ) and plate that I'll be bringing the leftover home
