    Chicken Saltimbocca with spaghetti
    Danielle S.

This was a lovely place for an intimate night out. The small restaurant made for a special date night, and our server was helpful and excellent. She recommended great wines for us, and helped us decide on what food to order as well. My husband enjoyed the soup special, which was a creamy artichoke soup with pieces of lobster. Then we shared the chicken Saltimbocca with spaghetti and the pasta alla Amatriciana. The chicken dish had a lot of salt and pepper, but was tasty. The pasta was very nice, but the meat had a smokiness that I almost found bitter, so it wasn't the best pasta I've had in Atlanta. I will definitely return to try other menu items because it all looked great. There is a small parking lot, but you can find extra parking across the street.

We just moved right down the road from Mezza Luna and we pass it all the time driving around Smyrna so my husband and I went to try it last night and wow, we loved it! The staff were wonderful, the place had such a homey feel, and the food was fantastic! We loved the bruschetta we ordered for the appetizer and the complimentary focaccia bread. But what really sealed the deal for us was the special they had that night- the pesto pasta. I love pesto and have had it many times but this by far is the best pesto dish I've had! So yummy and flavorful and a very good size portion! We were too full to try the dessert but they looked yummy and will definitely be back!

Went in for dinner on a recommendation. Very good and authentic Italian fare. The bruschetta was great with the right amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It tried the broccolini and lobster soup. That was outstanding, you could always use more lobster of course. I went with the gnocchi alla vodka for my entree. It was rich but very good. The gnocchi was handmade in house and you could tell. The vodka sauce was creamy with a ton of flavor. The flavor of the sauce was enhanced with pancetta. We were too full to try dessert but everything else was excellent.

Came to Mezza Luna for the first time on a date. Smaller inside than I anticipated but gives very warm and cozy vibe. The menu was easily digestible and wasn't overwhelming which I loved. I came without reading the menu first and was able to easily choose what I wanted to eat. Our server was nice and attentive. I ordered the gnocchi which was actually pretty good and the portion size was great which was what I was worried about because a lot of Italian restaurants struggled with a decent portion size. Very favorable and would likely order this again however the chicken parm also looked good as well. One thing to note is, the restaurant is a bit loud. I think it's because it's smaller in size and conversations carry so it definitely was a bit loud but it wasn't unbearable. There's a lot attached to the restaurant but it's shared with a liquor store so first come first served

I drove to this quaint little restaurant in Smyrna because someone told me it was the spot for authentic Italian. Authentic? I couldn't say -- I've never been to Italy. What I can say is I ordered the lobster bisque, calamari, and seafood pasta, and every dish managed to be impressively... average. I've never been to Italy. The lobster bisque tasted more like a thin soup instead of being creamy. The calamari pieces were large and more rubbery than usual, and the seafood pasta was just okay with a very average marinara sauce. Service was also just okay. The décor and ambience were cute -- definitely a nice date night spot -- but I can't say the food matches the vibe. Cost was reasonable; I spent about $60.

We had a dinner reservation for a party of 7 at 7:30 pm on Friday, 1/3/25. The parking lot isn't too big, but there are more spots across the street. We were seated right away! From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall. But don't let that stop you! Very homey vibes. The restaurant was packed, but not overcrowded and we had plenty of space. Our waitress was awesome! Between the 7 of us, we split 3 appetizers, each got our own entree, and we split 3 desserts. We definitely could've gotten away with only 1 dessert, if that. And I had leftovers of my entree. Here's what I tried: - The bread was so good!! They gave us 3 baskets for our table, which was enough. - Calamari Fritti ($13): I'm not a huge calamari fan, but this was fine! Not a must-try for me. - Caprese Salad ($13): Tasty! - Arancini with Ground Beef and Spicy Tomato Sauce (Special): Good! The arancini were perfectly crispy on the outside and the sauce was delicious! - Eggplant Parmigiana ($20.95): My go-to dish at Italian restaurants is eggplant parmesan, and this one did not disappoint!! The sauce was so good. - Portobello-Stuffed Ravioli (Special): I split this and the eggplant with a friend. I couldn't have eaten the ravioli dish as my one entree because of how heavy it was, but splitting it was perfect! So so good! - Crème Brûlée Cheesecake ($10): Wow, this was so tasty!! Definitely my favorite dessert out of the three. - Tiramisu ($10): Very good! - Cannoli ($9): Good, but I would get the first two again next time. Others in my party got the Chicken Piccata ($21.95) and Linguini Clams ($23.95) and raved about both dishes! Decent-sized portions, super tasty food at a reasonable price! Highly recommend!

My husband and I came here on an early Tuesday night before a Brave's game. It was our first time and we were delighted with the staff, quality of food, and speed of service. Our waiter, Ricky, was fast and efficient and made great recommendations. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it was the best I have eaten in Atlanta! My husband ordered the special, butternut squash ravioli with fried lobster. We also ordered calamari for an appetizer which was tasty. They also served complimentary cubed foccaccio which I thought was an interesting touch. Next time I am back, I will try dessert! This is a lovely place for date night or an evening with family. I would recommend reservations online as it is a small, intimate restaurant.

Salmon piccata. Ordered medium. Came well done. That was only isssue. Great flavors. Great bread. Great service. I'll be back again

Host Jaki greeted me a few seconds after entering. (I mistakenly gave her my order/ I don't go out much)Took me to a table then asked for drink order. A couple minutes later Jay/waiter came up to me and brought my cool water with no ice along with bread and oil. Very shortly after Jay came back with my meatballs. Impressed with the speed. Meatballs were very good with perfect firmness. My main entree of chicken parmigiana was also very good, delicious and served up swiftly. I left very content with notice of giving them a five-star rating. I left $45 cash. After an hour or so I pulled my receipt out of my pocket and saw the $1.20 convenience fee. Going back to the restaurant I spoke with Jay and told him I just wanted him to stop charging people that paid cash and give me back just $2. Agreed. All okay.

Unfortunately, the service brought your score down. We had a reservation for dinner and the young lady who initially met us, did not even ask us this. She greeted us with, "we have an event going on, so seating is tight." OK - Well I have reservation. That seemed to help her find us a table. When she sat us, she handed us one menu for my wife and I. No wine list, (at a wine market) and no introduction. After 5-6 minutes, our server came out and said hello, but did not bring water or the wine list still. But, she did inform us again about the event going on. WE know restaurants are busy on weekends and even more so in the holiday season, but the constant reminders of "The event" does two things, one the servers are creating an excuse to say, you are going to receive slow service, and two, it felt like, how dare we show up during an event night. Finally on our servers 2nd visit, we were able to receive a second menu and the wine list. We ordered the 6 piece charcuterie and two glasses of wine. The server who made the charcuterie board, was very pleasant and proud of her creation, and rightfully so, the board was beautiful and delicious. We enjoyed our wine choice and decided to buy a bottle, our server, had zero wine experience. She did not present the bottle to me, (I have the wrong bottles brought out on a few occasions, and this is just a common courtesy) she uncorked the bottle, did not present the cork, she poured from the bottle into glasses that already had wine, granted we ordered the same wine, but at a wine market with a big event, maybe two new glasses should have been brought out, just in case. Then after she poured our glasses, she DROPPED the cork on the floor, picks it up and sticks in our bottle. Do your servers do that with silverware? Then she began to walk away with our bottle, I asked her to please leave the bottle on the table. She was seemed like that was an odd request. Overall, if we could give half stars, I would say 3.5 for the review, it was saved by your charcuterie server, as well as the taste and quality of the meats and cheeses, as well as the wonderful selection of wines. We will be back and hopefully, you take these comments constructively, and have your servers trained up a little more to be assets to your establishment.

Unfortunately, the service was just awful! We usually sit at the bar because we find you get much better service there. The bar at Postino is beautiful, open to the outside, and has comfy barstools. This bar also has the most surly bartender we've ever met. She truly had the worst attitude and probably should explore a profession that doesn't involve interacting with the public. She complained to customers around us about her boss, her coworkers, the temperature of the restaurant (apparently her birth control makes her hot), and the classes she's taking in school. Our meals did not come out at the same time - probably because someone forgot to put my husband's panini in the press so it came out rather quickly. We could immediately tell that it was not cooked. Why no one in the kitchen or the bar could see the cold slice of cheese that clearly wasn't melted and the bread that was not toasted, who knows? He had to take his own meal back to the kitchen to get it heated up. He walked right by the manager, who said nothing, and didn't even inquire about the problem. Once both meals were finally served, the food was really delicious. Of course, no one asked if we enjoyed it or not. When the bill came, we only tipped 18%. We usually start at 30% and go up or down from there. What a shame that bad service impacted an otherwise great meal.

Maybe next time, and maybe a whole pie instead, as I'm not typically a fan of pizza that stays out on the counter for a bit. That's just me, I bet this is usual, so no points off to them for this. I decided to grab The Marino from their menu. I really enjoyed the meatballs. They were super flavorful, a lot better than most places. The bread they used seemed to have been more on the Ciabatta side. The texture of the bread was soft and not hard to bite into. The sauce was not doused on this, which was great for me, so I didn't get any in my beard. It said panini, but I didn't sense the bread was pressed at all. Maybe there is something different about this in Italy that I'm not aware of? The sandwich was great overall, I wish it was larger or had an option to be larger. At $9.99, I really can't complain. Coulda just gotten two. Maybe next time! :D The shop is really cool and carries a lot of Italian/EU imports. I was able to find a jar of Nutella that is imported, which if you know, imported Nutella taste different than US Nutella and comes in a glass jar instead of plastic and taste creamier. They also had lots of pastas, sauces and candies. Some Easter stuff leftover as well at the time of this post. EU easter candy is better than American easter candy. :D When you walk in, the line sort of leads to the back and you make your way up to the front. In the glass, there are various burrata's available for around $8 each. Good for making your own pizza or perhaps an Italian dish. I didn't pay attention to what milk was used, but this is Georgia, so you make do. The drinks are all canned or bottled. They had some imported sparkling waters. You can tell by the fact that the caps don't twist off and are attached to the bottle intentionally because the EU requires this to avoid pollution by people leaving bottle caps all over the place. The young lady at the counter super knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. She was very sweet and good to talk to. I came after a lunch rush, so she asked me to pick a seat and let her know so she can clean it up. Very much appreciated that. Place is a little small and not a lot of seats. If you happen to come during lunch hour, be prepared to get the order to go and sit outside or across in the park center of the square. It's very well maintained from the looks of it and would be a great picnic area. Overall, I enjoyed this location very much. I would definitely come again to try some of their other offerings.
