Refresher with the bill

Top notch from start to finish. Warm greeting, expert guide through the menu courses, intimate atmosphere, worth the hype and that's all before the A+ food!

The spot in Marietta for a special occasion! This is the only restaurant in Marietta that is Michelin recommended. The restaurant exterior is unassuming and tucked away a bit in the square, and the interior is small but welcoming. We started with the peach and perilla salad ($19) and this was vibrant and refreshing. My husband tried the sweet corn cappelletti ($39) and I tried the roasted wagyu picanha ($54). The meat was tender and delicious. We loved the emphasis on seasonality in the menu and the service is impeccable. Excited to return for future special occasions!

My partner and I had a wonderful experience at Spring on Saturday evening. The restaurant had a modern contemporary design, warm lighting, and a minimalistic atmosphere. It was small and intimate, creating the perfect setting for a Michelin-starred experience. Josh our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive, the decor and ambiance were perfect, the food was excellent and the presentation was immaculate. Both owners were kind and even brought out our dessert: a yummy-filled cruller with cherry almond ice cream and olive oil cake with chantilly frosting and strawberries. It was exquisite.

Grouper

Delicious food! Really enjoyed the grouper dish. That being said, a few things were off: - Pacing. We waited a little bit too long for our server to greet us and then waited a little bit too long between courses. We actually were a little bored. We ended up not ordering dessert because we weren't sure how long it would take and didn't want to be waiting around. - There is a door that opens outward right near the entrance and a busy hallway. I saw a woman get hit really hard with the door when a server was coming out. They are closing for renovations soon so hopefully they will address this! - Our server corrected my wife about the wine menu in a way that made her feel a bit awkward.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The space is small and intimate. When the staff brings the food to the table, they are very descriptive in the way they describe the dishes. The service is impeccable, and they are always extremely attentive. I went with two friends and we ordered everything on the menu and split it all. Honestly, the best dining experience I've had in the last year.

I've heard great things about Spring and the moment I found out they received a star from Michelin this year, I knew I needed to book a reservation. Spring is tucked away in Marietta Square; find Thaicoon and it's just behind it. It's a very small restaurant, maybe 15 tables if that. It's cozy, but felt as if the ambiance didn't match the wonderful food served because the space felt outdated. Staff is very professional and inviting. My husband wanted to get wine and our server was knowledgeable with their extensive wine list. He was so knowledgeable that we thought he was the sommelier (maybe he was, we never found out really). Service was exceptional. As a fine dining restaurant, plates/silverware were cleared after every course and our tables were cleared right away. Our water glasses were always topped. We didn't wait long in between courses either. Once our drinks were served, we ordered our food for the night. My husband and I shared the lamb tartare (lamb was served in thin strips with perilla leaves and julienned vegetables with chili oil and aioli) and persimmon salad (so refreshing with a big chunk of cheese; great fall salad). They also brought out a sourdough bread basket with butter topped with salt and herbs - this was so good! For entrees, I ordered the cappelletti and my husband, then halibut. The cappelletti was like a warm hug in a bowl - it was creamy, sweet from the corn, cheesy. My husband enjoyed the fish but he wished it had a different sauce and the oyster was not necessary. This was served with pasta and the pasta itself had a nice chew. Don't skip out on dessert either! We got the sorbet and tres leches - best part of the meal. Tres leches tasted like banana pudding but nevertheless, so good and a great way to end a wonderful meal.

CARNAROLI RICE PUDDING raspberry, almond, champagne sabayon to die for!

Party of 2 visited for dinner on Saturday evening in October 2024. The interior is simplistic but cozy. Saw a lot of couples and a birthday celebration. During our visit, the train passed by 2 times which was unique but it wasn't too disruptive. I had the GOLDEN BEET & FIG SALAD as the starter which was delicious but the balsamic vinaigrette was a bit too acidic in my humble opinion. I literally had tears coming out of my eyes due to this. I'd use a different one. My husband had the POTAGE PARMENTIER and said he really enjoyed it. We both had the PAN-ROASTED HALIBUT and truly enjoyed it. Our waiter Josh was very informative and suggested we try the CARNAROLI RICE PUDDING. So I got that as dessert and my husband had the LEMON TART. The pudding was the best part of dinner. My husband was soo jealous of my dessert and ordered another one for himself to go. It was to die for. (Thank me later) I really enjoyed dining at this place. Josh was polite and the right amount of friendly. I just wish they had a full bar which we learned that is coming sometime in summer 2025. Cheers!

galbi tang

My husband and I went on Tuesday for their Korean pop up menu. We got the yukhoe, ddukbokki, and galbi tang. Yukhoe was very fresh and paired well with the pear and cucumber. Ddukbokki had a good amount of spice and flavor. My husband liked the galbi tang, but the radish was a little overcooked. The meat was very tender and soft. For dessert, we had the injeolmi sorbet. It was kind of like a korean bingsoo but with the sorbet texture. I really liked all the toppings - sliced almonds, rice cake, injeolmi powder, and rice cracker pieces. Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive and came by to check up on us and fill our water and refill our side dishes as well.

The parking is a bit tricky with this restaurant. We accidentally get in a Marta parking that is right in front of the restaurant. We paid by the mobile app QR code. Though later, the server told us people don't really park there because the arm gate might not work randomly. Fortunately, we got in that parking area accidentally, so we didn't go through the arm gate, which apparently close. The restaurant is right next to the train track and opposite to the other side of the train track, you will see a big lot of public parking (which you can see from google map). I will recommend parking there and go across the railroad to the restaurant. It's a small cozy well-lit pace. With the upscale standard of the restaurant, I would expect they can mix some mocktail but they don't have a bar area so drinks will be strictly within the menu. Besides wine, they have very limited menu for non-alcohol drinks. Normally, I love a fruity mocktail when going fine dining. Luckily, their sparkling drink is tasty, but I do hope they have more options for non-alcohol drinks. The restaurant doesn't offer chef tasting menu which is a surprise to me because the restaurant is known in lots of foodie article and site as a chef tasting menu place. Maybe they just changed recently. We got checked on often by the server and manager. They're all knowledgeable about the menu and very professional. Table is cleaned often, as well new silverware is replaced often once they're dirty. That is something I highly value in fine dining which surprisingly isn't well practiced in several upscale restaurant. I've been to places where they serve dessert without cleaning up the table from entree dining ware and silverware. The menu is small, like 2-3 items each section so we tried all the appetizers and entrees that are available. The dish is on the high price for the portion, but I already know that coming in so it's not an issue. We had: - New Potatoes (Snacks): they have smoked salmon on top so if you can't eat raw textured fish, be careful. - Provençal white asparagus (Snacks): I think there's a bit too much hollandaise, comparing to white asparagus. Also, it's a cold dish which I wish I had known. - Foie gras torchon (Main) - Garganelli (Entree): this is the highlight of the dinner. It tastes very good. - Pan roasted Alaskan halibut (Main) - Roasted lamb loin (Main) - Chocolate, banana & hazelnut (Dessert) - Strawberry sorbet & goat milk ice cream (Dessert) The snacks are alright, different but not amazing. The highlight of our dinner is mostly in the entree and dessert. The train ran through when we were dining which was a lovely thing to see through the window. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with tasty food in a cozy restaurant. I would recommend the place.

DRY AGED STRIP sunchoke, sesame, kohlrabi, chili sabayon, black garlic

Spring, a charming, quaint restaurant off Marietta Square, serves beautiful and delicious food to rival any fine-dining restaurant in the Atlanta area. The small, artistic portions pack a punch of flavor, combing finesse, colors, textures, temperatures, and flavors intriguingly and inspiringly. The servers move undisturbingly, removing crumbs and refilling water before you even know you have a need. The menu changes often, so you are sure to get fresh, seasonal ingredients. While all the dishes were tasty, the fois gras, aged steak, and sourdough were unforgettable. Absolutely spend more than usual to make a special occasion memorably delicious.

First off I must thank the maître d' - I messed up our reservation and we were nowhere to be seen on the guest list when we arrived. No matter. The host accommodated us and made us feel welcomed on a crowded Friday night. Great and humane customer service. Our server, Zach was knowledgeable and friendly and helped us choose well. The food and presentation were exceptional. For starters, my wife had the tuna tartare and I had the ajo Blanco - both delicious and beautiful. Our main courses were (wife's) garganelli with morels and fava beans and (mine) lamb loin and tenderloin with carrot and spinach. The lamb was cooked to perfection! We were feeling full but, we couldn't resist dessert so we tried the rice pudding and the cruller with almond ice cream. That ice cream was amazing! So smooth and cold! Both desserts had such an incredible variety of textures! They don't offer espresso but they do serve a damn fine cup of coffee from a roaster across the street. Spring is expensive yes, but I actually thought the meal we had would have cost even more. We don't live in Marietta but we will come back to Spring as often as we can. It's worth it.

Grouper with beurre blanc sauce and chives

We've been wanting to try it Spring for a long time, so when my boyfriend's parents came in town, it was the perfect excuse to go. This is a very small but mighty restaurant by the train tracks, so I get why you need a reservation. So small, in fact, that I felt bad for our waiters having to squeeze between tables to get to our table in the center of the restaurant. The menu is different every night, and it's very small, so you don't have many choices to make. When we went, there were 5 appetizers/salads, 3 entrees and 3 desserts. I shared the fried oysters (yummy and crispy with plentiful dipping sauce) and got the duck entree. It was cooked to perfection and so pretty, but I thought it could have come with more than 3 baby carrots haha. It was enough food, but just enough. My boyfriend got the grouper and the beurre blanc sauce was absolutely divine. The bread for the table was the absolute best bread I've had in ages (chewy warm sourdough), and dipping it in his sauce was the highlight of the meal. For dessert we tried the chocolate and beets, which was interesting and tasty, but I wouldn't necessarily order it again. The service was so attentive, helpful and nice. It was a lovely dining experience for a special occasion.

Is this a more fancy dining experience? What is the appropriate dress?

Semi causal is clothing is fine but I wouldn't wear shorts and a t shirt with sandals on a Saturday night. I would say that as far as the cuisine is concerned, it is very fine dining, but the atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming.

The sides wete quite good, the best part of our meals. The salad was okay though the dressing was on the more bland side and fresh ground pepper helped its flavor profile quite a bit. For a restaurant calling itself a "chophouse" and supposedly upscale, you would think they would know how to cook a steak or use a better quality steak. Our filets were cooked to proper temperature but lacked any taste of salt or seasoning and lacked any searing on the outside. The meat was chewy rather than tender and made us wonder "what's so special about this place" where parking availability is also a challenge!? So you would think dessert would be hard to mess up, but our cheesecake was nothing special at all. We've had better tasting Sara Lee cheesecake from the supermarket; definitely below expectation. We'll consider giving it another try, but at their prices there are so many other tried and true steakhouse we much prefer.
