I've tried several banh mi places in the area and this one is the best in my opinion. The pate, mayo and meat flavors are great and the picked radish and carrots are perfect . Service is quick and staff is friendly. The meat ratio to bread is on point. You can also sit down and eat here comfortably.

They accept Venmo btw! Decently tasty lemongrass tofu banh mi and super filling -- half the banh mi was more than enough for my lunch.

Affordable and quick spot for delicious bahn mi! The bread is crispy and the sandwich is stuffed with meat and veggies. I ordered the #13 Vietnamese cold cut special sandwich which was $9.50 but most of the other sandwiches were $9. They also take card without an extra fee which is convenient for the area. You order at the counter and they give you a number. I got my sandwich pretty quick despite it being a weekend. There's also a counter with chairs for some seating.

Craving some banh mi, I grabbed a BBQ Pork banh mi from Banh Mi Saigon in Chinatown. The sandwich was made fresh and absolutely hit the spot on a cold day. The staff was efficient in pumping out sandwiches and many people walked in and out grabbing their viet sandwiches. There was some seating with tall stools on one side for seating with more of a fast casual vibe. The banh mi is a great option for lunch or if you split one with a friend, a delicious larger snack. If I worked or lived around Chinatown, I would be back more often. 100% recommend.

Called for pick up for lunch one day. Everything was ready when I got there. I did the chicken with extra chicken. It was Delicious but the bread was a little hard. I felt like the spicy sauce was only on one half of the sandwich. Prices are good. My Thai ice tea was good too. Perfectly sweetened but not syrupy.

Banh Mi Saigon is a good spot for quick food and service. I usually call in my order, and staff gives you a number to provide when you pickup. There was no lines today, but it can get busy during lunch hour rush. I ordered the #1- BBQ pork sandwich. You can customize spice level and add/remove anything you do/don't want. There is some seating in the restaurant, but I decided to take out to eat. Bread is soft and warm. I like all the veggies they give, and the marinated flavorful pork. Good spot for quick bite.

We've been coming here since our highschool days and are always happy to support the small business because their banh mi is delicious! Normally I'd rate them a 5/5 but this time we went in last Friday and bought a number 1 to eat over the weekend. We went to reheat it and found out that there was barely any meat and vegetables in it. This definitely isn't how I remembered it and we paid $9-10 plus tip too. Super upsetting because we specifically made the trip to Chinatown for banh mi Saigon. Not sure what happened but usually there's more meat pieces and deli slices and definitely way more pickled vegetables. Thank goodness we bought a side of pickled vegetables too. I really hope this was a one off or something went wrong but super disappointed

Probably one of the worst Banh mi's I've had in recent memory. Come here excited since this place has been a chinatown staple for quite some time. When I came in I enjoyed how clean and barren the decor was, however when I went to the standing tables they had here, was immediately grossed out by the smell of dirty water emanating from the table, some one here really needs learn to clean and/or replace the rags they wash the tables with. Ignoring the smell and happily proceeding with the food I was set up for even more disappointment as I started on the sandwiches. The bread was incredibly chewy and dense and seemed to be the majority of the sandwich as there were barely any fillings / meat. The pork chop sandwich offended all of my sense; ontop of the terrible bread they provided here, the porkchop smelled rotten and poorly prepared. With the vast selection of banh mi's in Chinatown, this place should be the last place anyone should go to while in the area

If you like banh mi, this is an excellent spot. My only gripe is that they give you a small portion of meat compared to veggies. I'd say it's 80-20 veggies to meat. The chicken banh mi is really delicious as they use dark meat and the marinade is nice. The fresh vegetables are also really tasty with a great crunch. The bread is super crispy. Make sure to add sriracha at the standing tables as these need a little sauce.

Banh Mi spot in Chinatown! $9 banh mi. Not my favorite banh mi but a good banh mi and good portion size. I got the bbq pork and was a little sad that it wasn't like the grilled bbq pork you get at Vietnamese sit down spots; it's more like the pork they put in the buns you can get at a Chinese bakery so not what I was expecting but still yummy. It's a small shop, standing room only with those tables that jut out of the walls. Good amount of people when we went but the service was super quick. Known for their banh mi's (that's like half of their menu) but there's other things on their menu as well.

Came in during lunch hour, was in and out within 15-20 minutes max. Nothing extraordinary about this sandwich but certainly not the worst. I took it home and added my own mayo and black pepper which got it to a taste closer to my liking. I did enjoy the banh uot though. Nailed the batter taste and texture. Didn't feel fresh but it was nostalgic.

3.5 but will not round up It's the bread not being soft, crunchy, nor warm enough that's a 3/4 point deduction The lack of spread is also another 3/4 point deduction Something about the cucumber not being plump also takes away from the experience A banh mi is now $9.50 cash They win with their tall herbal cold drinks for $2.50 each

Pretty fire affordable sandwiches. The no1 was good balance of pork and lunch meat. Bread is decent and soft.

The food always arrives hot, is always well packaged and tasty. My personal go to is the SHAKING BEEF Bo Luc Lac Stir fried Angus steak cube) bun. It is served Served w. Side Salad & Nuoc Cham: (Romaine, Cucumber, Pickled Mustard, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots & Daikon). I appreciate the choice of Vermicelli rice noodle, Thai Jasmine rice or Solely Salad. I always choose rice and the packaging is amazing, the beef is kept seperate from the rice and arrives hot and aromatic. My mom also loves this dish but ordered it with the solely salad and opts for double veggies. We have also tried several of the bahn mini including the lemongrass chicken, the brisket and the braised short rib. All are tasty. I do recommend adding the dip for $1 as it really takes it to the next level! I ordered the lychee iced tea sweetened today. It was sweet but not too sweet which I appreciated and as with everything from 5ive spice very thoughtfully packaged in a way that there is no leaking in transit. 5ive spice has some great all day and happy hour specials, I look forward to trying their food in person when I am in the area. Customer service: One time, on a particularly busy weekend in NYC, I received the wrong bahn mi sandwich. I ordered the brisket bahn mi and received the lemongrass chicken. When I called 5ive Spice, I spoke to the manager John who was incredibly apologetic and explained it was a very busy night, without offering excuses. He offered a full refund and invited me to order again and call and he would include a complimentary bahn mi. For what it's worth, it was a very busy night in NYC, all of the restaurants we were trying to get take out or delivery from were quoting 2+ hours, and John handled the situation perfectly. The food we received was tasty and did arrive on time.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. I ordered "Plain Pho", which is described as just broth and noodles, no garnish or meat. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
