    10. Bambu Favorite (Hat Luu Suong Sao Banh Lot)
    Amie N.

ive gotten BAMBU five times within the past 2 weeks. such an underrated Vietnamese dessert. 16oz cup was around $8-$9 and the cup is filled all the way. u can ask for the ice in the cup or in a baggy on the side. the bambu special comes with grass jelly/red tapioca rubies/pandan jelly in sweetened coconut milk. overall not too sweet + the ice can mellow it out. i loved the equal ratios among the three toppings. served with both a straw and a spoon but i like to sip it with the straw! fast service. accept cash and card. plentiful seating inside that is always clean. easy parking everyday. rarely busy ever throughout the day.

I haven't had che for a while so I sent hubby here to get me a drink. I ordered Bambu Special #1 (substitute coconut with grass jelly & half sugar) and a pandan waffle. The drink was delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. As for the pandan waffle, it got soggy by the time hubby got home but that's not the store's fault. The flavor was good and I loved the texture of the waffle.

TOGO ORDER: Plenty of Parking Takes CC No lines at all I was in the neighborhood so i decided to drop by. Who doesnt Love Bambu? we need some on the Hayward/East Bay - Hint hint! Wow this place just been remodeled or got it remodeled and its sooo nice and modern there!! I mentioned to the owner what i wanted exactly and he recommended #6. and i also got their Pandan Waffles. Loved them both sooo much so thank u! The vibe there is so cute! would recommend this spot!

Taro dessert 5/5 - this was so good! I don't think it's a traditional viet dessert but it was good. I like that the taro is real taro and not just powder. It is a little expensive for viet dessert but it's pretty big and more than enough for two people to share.

A refreshing desert and snack with the taste of Vietman. Something different and bring out the favorite of Vietman. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Parking is feasible. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean and ok. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . 5) Type of desert standard : ( 4 point) - The style of desert they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Vietman . Not bad! But some desert did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

This is such a cute little spot. The Vietnamese coffee is extremely good, and strong. I get it with crystal boba, and coffee jelly's he variety of jelly's is nice. The place is always clean, and it's very nice to come in and see the nice cashiers.

First time having Che as well as the many ingredients in the drink. Came on a weekday and there wasn't that many people so was able to get our drink quickly. I can't really tell the difference between Bambu Favorite and Fruit Addict drinks that I got, so I'll just be describing my more favorite ingredients. First time having jackfruit and it's kind of similar to mango, not all that bad. One of the drinks had whole coconut and lychee in it which I was very surprised. My favorite part of both drinks though was definitely the pandan jelly and lychee jelly which had such a strong flavor to it. Che is like boba but upgraded, one drink will most definitely fill you up. Overall, okay experience. Che is kind of what you expect, coconut milk with a bunch of ingredients inside it. I think if you are a boba fan, would definitely recommend checking this out, but don't think this will replace my boba craving any time soon.

Love their combination yogurt drink. Its sweet and tangy and full of fruit bits. They don't skimp out on the fruits which is why this is my go to drink. Its easy to order and they make it fast. Since its a small store They only have a few tables inside. Parking can be a hassle but we can somehow manage.

Bambu has gotten pricy. I got 3 avocado smash and a jasmine green tea, $30. Avocado smash used to be $5. Service was quick and the menu has expanded slightly. The menu is simpler compared to other boba shops.

    Cheerful Che menu :)

Haven't been to Bambu in a long time and can't wait to go back when I'm craving some che again. Ventured over on my lunch break when I was running errands, and the lady taking my order was super friendly. She checked if I wanted the ice packed with or separately. Good reminder for when the weather is warmer to order a few extra and get the ice packed separately to enjoy later. The store is quite small so I waited outside when I saw another customer approaching. Took a quick phone call, and when I looked up, my order was ready. It was inconvenient to eat with a spoon while I was working, so I only used the straw. Thus, there was some taro and bean medley left over. I poured some oat milk in and it surprisingly was yummy that way too. At $4.75 it is a reasonable price point for tastiness and satiety.

I feel like this location isn't quite up to par with the other ones :( Last time we came here they put so many toppings and not enough drink, my bf also found a hair in his drink. This time was better, the drink and topping ratio was perfect! My top 2 drinks are the bambu special and bambu favorite. The bambu special is good if you want something refreshing, it has chia seeds and coconut strips! The bambu favorite is so good if you want something a little more milky / heavier! It has fake "pomegranate seeds", pandan jelly and grass jelly.

Yes, it's definitely worth going to if you've never had Vietnamese beef 7 ways or baked catfish…read more There's not many of these types of restaurants around. General for celebratory reasons and it originated from the south as well. You can find many other Vietnamese cuisine out there, but unless you have a bigger Vietnamese population, this is a much more rare find. So when our friend from NY was visiting for Fanime, we had to get this. Though, I will say this to start with, nothing can ever beat my dear Thien An Bo 7 Mon from SoCal. I'm biased and I'm not afraid to say it, but I know that NorCal is lacking in many ways and with that in mind, it makes sense that the prices are higher (rent and costs of operation are much higher in NorCal, I'm sure) and the other differences as well. Regardless, the service was attentive and welcoming and they even chased my bf outside to his car when he foolishly left his card in the restaurant. There is a policy that the 7 course beef is 1 order per person and minimum 2 orders. I have not seen that in SoCal and they let us grossly share 1 order between 3 people, but things might have changed. With that in mind, 2 orders split between 3 people was more than enough. For drinks, my boyfriend got some local brewed IPA and when I sent my dad the picture (he's a Viet refugee), he immediately got triggered by the year that was on the can before I explained to him the origins that were on the label. I got a soda chanh muoi (salted lemon sparkling water and you pour the sparkling soda water from a cold can yourself into the mix in a glass). Refreshing and a sharp salty sour bite in between courses. The 7 course beef came as it would any other restaurant that does it: 1) Goi Bo (House Special Beef Salad) 2) Bo Nhung Dam (Beef in Wine Vinegar Fondue) -Not sure why it's translated this way but it's raw beef slices that have been seasoned in vinegar with some onions on top and you cook it in a hot pot broth. 3) Bo Cha Dum (Steamed Beef Patty) 4) Bo Cuon No Chai (Grilled Beef Sausages) 5) Bo Cuon La Lot (Beef wrapped in Lot leaf) -Easily the favorite of the table. You can never go wrong with leaf wrapped meats as you can see that it is a worldwide dish and phenomenon regardless of the protein and the vegetation used. -Savory and a bit smoky with a kick from the leaves. Good stuff. 6) Bo Nuong Xa (Beef roll with onion and lemon grass) 7) Chao Bo (Beef porridge) - the version I had in SoCal had cute beef alphabet and star pasta soup and I'm not the biggest fan of porridge so this was just okay to me. All the beef was seasoned well and moist, not too dry or tough. Definitely more than enough to share especially with the generous amount of rice paper and veggies to roll in. Again, just my qualm because I'll always compare every Viet 7 beef course with my OG in SoCal, but they had a vertical rice paper water rolling dish that made it easier to wet the rice paper without it getting soggy and without the water getting gross or the bowl taking up too much space. We additionally got vermicelli noodles to stuff our rolls too, which would have been nice to add a little bit of carbs into our meal, but if you're more into protein and veggies, this was good. Overall not bad and a must to try at least once.

We came in around 5:40 PM on a Saturday expecting freshly prepared, flavorful food. Unfortunately, several of the dishes we ordered were extremely dry and lacked flavor. The meat was very dry, tough, and had a texture similar to jerky, which made it difficult to enjoy. When we mentioned this to the staff, we were told that the food was pre-cooked and that this was simply how it was served. I understand that some dishes may be prepared in advance, but I believe there should still be attention to maintaining the proper texture, moisture, and quality before serving.
