Ok I ordered the brown sugar mochi black tea and it wasn't what I expected. The mochi was kinda gross IMO. But my daughter had the brown sugar oolong tea which she enjoyed because she drank the entire thing! The storefront was cute and pink. I paid 4.50$ more for the little surprise plushie inside the cup. It's cute! The line moved fairly quickly and the drinks were made pretty quick as well. The workers here are nice and friendly. The one down side is you have to go into the mall. The wait can be pretty long. Love some of their drinks. It's so delicious and lot overly sweet. They use to make a rice bowl that I love to get but they stop selling it. This place is right next to a mini market kiosk and Dave and Busters. This location of Ume is delish! I loveee their matchas! They're surprisingly smooth and creamy. Love their strawberry matcha and the just came out with the strawberry cloud coco and I love that one even more! The coconut jelly bits on the bottom remind me of a firmer melo melo jelly, soooo goooood. It was a bit busy because it's closer to the holidays but I got my drink pretty quickly. I like how there were two kiosks to order from so you don't get stuck waiting on someone who's taking a long time on the kiosk. I got their coco mango jasmine bloom in the default regular size but didn't realize how small the cups were! I remember when I got their same drink in their Santa Clara location (same drink and same size of a medium) it was in a much bigger cup. So that was disappointing. Despite how busy they are, the staff is always pleasant. If you really insist (because you have a gift card that can't be used on the digital system) they'll immediately make eye contact and politely take your order at the register. I've tried several of their drinks and have enjoyed every one. Their chicken strips and popcorn chicken are really popular with the kiddos. The chicken strips can be ordered plain without any seasoning at all. The popcorn chicken are still a little spicy from the white pepper, even when ordered mild. Unfortunately, during peak hours, expect to have some free time. They have multiple employees working the kitchen, but with many people making bigger orders, a longer wait is understandable. read more

This Ume Tea location still isn't better than other Ume locations, but it's a tiny stand, convenient and good to have inside the Great Mall in Milpitas. I only go for the 5/5 good tasting cloud drink: mango coconut twilight because of the flavors and colors. It's very good to have at all Ume locations. I like it. Experience wasn't as great during grand opening here and to be honest, the wait time nowadays still takes a long 15-20 minutes before getting the drink after ordering around lunch hour on weekdays. I came here a few times throughout the year and there's always a new staff member there. Lines are usually busy. Ume's beverages are a bit small in size and higher priced compared to other places for similar value. Customers are usually happy with their orders though. Cashier was ok this time. At least the lids and packaging are fine now. No leaks or bursts. The mango coconut twilight beverage is worth it for sure. read more

The Lychee & Watermelon Green Tea was a great thirst quencher for my stroll around the mall and I always appreciate boba spots that allow me to adjust my sugar and ice levels. 4/5 for the drink itself - it meets my needs, but it's not the best I've had in terms of quality of tea flavor. -1 star overall for charging a service fee at a kiosk. The mango drink tasted like an indian mango lassi (no complaints here) and the lychee rose was more lychee with a hint of rose which was what we were hoping for anyways. Very Refreshing and fresh tea. I got the thai tea with creme breulee. Wish they has the ice adjustment to zero as well. As during winter no ice is mich preferred. Really enjoy my refreshing Logan osmanthus tea slush with aiyu jelly. I got it 50% sweet and it was still sweet. It may be due to the aiyu jelly. While a little pricey this tea was amazing! I had the creme brûlée Thai tea, with added boba and Cristal boba and in their special cup with the key chain. It's the only boba stop I go to while shopping in Great Mall. There will be fewer lines and faster wait unless it's the holiday or big promotion season, which can go up to the next two stores. Their fruit teas are always not too sweet or plain when I order at 50% sweetness with good toppings. Their store is so cute, including the merch. You can sit at any bench around the mall to enjoy a snack and a drink or walk around with it. I prefer to order on a touchscreen since the cashier hides in the back on slow days and I don't have to talk as an introvert lol. read more

Strawberry Match: Well, I have had better ones before, honestly. The boba itself was decent quality, having a nice squishy texture. The milk was standard and the strawberry puree was ok. My problem was the matcha. It was completely frozen in my drink, and not to mention it had the "solo"' logo design on it. Makes me think they use a frozen batch or something. This place is located within great mall, and whats a little shopping without stopping by for some boba. We ordered the white peach oolong with boba and a grape fruit tea with their grape jelly. You can add an additional $3.50 to your drink to get a little surprise toy that comes with your drink!! Overall, the flavor and quality has always been on par with UME. I was hoping for additional flavors like other places but knowing they are new, I believe that they would add more in the future.
