Ouch!! Went to Balcony One for my wife's birthday dinner on 12/12, along with us was relatives from out of state who had never been there. Prior to leaving St. George, I check their web site to ensure there were no changes in their hours, everything looked fine. When we arrived, there was a sign in parking lot saying they would be closed until 2/12/25. You would think they would show some customer courtesy by placing that information on their website. read more

Its a nice quiet and relaxing atmosphere the lights are a little dimmed which makes it more "romantic" i think, anyway we had some empanadas and also the french onion soup to start with. after that, i order the ribeye steak and my husband did too ( i didnt snap photos of those) the food was good the star of the show was the empanadas and the cucumber drink i had. It was a little over priced for the steaks it had two sides a baked potato and i got some veggies also it was about $63 each steak so the bill for 2 ended up being almost $200 (not including tip) We had a cheesecake for dessert it was yummy overall good not sure if im ready to spend that much again for just 2 people read more

If you have not been here, you are missing out! Hands down the best meal I have had in Utah. I have tried several items from the menu and have not been disappointed ever. My cousin brought me here as her and her husband come every week for dinner or drinks and apps and invited me along. First visit I tried a couple drinks..try the goddess drink! Not only beautiful, but so delicious. We shared an empanada as that is her favorite app and some French onion soup. I love that everything comes out straight from the pan/oven. There is no Luke warm food, it's steaming hot like it should be! Both were fantastic! I had the chicken with orzo and cauliflower and again it was top notch! That chicken was so perfectly done that I couldn't stop eating it even though I was full. We also had an espresso martini to end our meal and again..fantastic. Hello and thank you for reading this review. The food and service were both great. We liked the homey kitschy SW atmosphere. We had a pork chop with their loaded bake potato along with Brussel sprouts. I don't usually care for Brussel sprouts but I would eat these again anytime. We also had the baby back ribs, perfectly cooked to fall right off the bone, with their take on augratin potato, excellent, and perfectly roasted asparagus. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy, I would have like just a smidge of heat or bite but it was very tasty. It was so nice to find a place to eat outside the hustle and bustle of Springdale where everything isn't centered on getting tourists in and out at a rapid pace. All the enjoyment has been wrung out of Springdale due to the horrendous parking problems they have. In the summer don't expect to come to Springdale between 10 am and 8 pm and park anywhere without walking a mile or two. read more

Went here with my sister for dinner. Our server was personable and quick to refill drinks. The owner went from table to table to speak with guests, which definitely adds to the charm. We started with French onion soup which did not disappoint in either flavor or presentation. Would definitely order that again. My sister got the southwest salad. She was satisfied with this but wished they put more than a tiny portion of the shrimp ceviche on top. I got the roasted chicken and was pretty disappointed. The ambiance is great, and service was good, but the food was disappointing. We ordered table bread which really was not that good. The flavor, texture was bland. I order the salmon with au gratin potatoes and brussel sprouts, and my boyfriend got steak with asparagus with au gratin potatoes. The food was almost lukewarm, and everything lacked flavor. The veggies were also over cooked and almost mushy. The salmon was an extra fatty piece and I couldn't even eat all of it because it was so soft and breaking apart because of how much fat was on it. I have actually never experienced that before with salmon. The flavor was really bland on everything we had. We didn't even want to try the dessert. I really wanted to like this place, but I'm actually really surprised how disappointing it was considering the prices and small portions--our meals came out to $100. I've only eaten here once so I always feel like one meal isn't necessarily enough data to truly tell if the one thing you ordered was representative of the whole menu so take my 4 stars with a grain of salt...it is quite possible your experience may be better or worse. So the TL/DR is that what my wife and I ordered (bowl of chili and rib sandwich) was good but not 5 stars. I will definitely give them another try next time we are in Virgin. Food: My rib sandwich (Sunday special?) was good but maybe a bit dry. The fries that came with it were great. My wife liked her chili but commented that it felt like they skimped on the pork belly. I definitely would like to try other things here. Ambience: It has a Mediterranean villa fell to it. Place has lots of great photos and paintings that I think are done by the owners. We arrived for our reservation & were met by a young girl acting as the hostess but dressed more like she was going to a rock concert. Instead of her greeting us & asking about our reservation we had to tell her we had one. We were taken to a half table that was shoved up against wall of windows facing the hot West sun. The table size could not support a full meal for 2. We did not want to sit facing the hot sun even though there was a flimsy curtain covering it so we asked to be reseated. Our wait staff, Suzette, seemed harried & distracted (she's not a high end server) which set the tone for the evening. The main dining room was very noisy-felt like the Black Bear Diner atmosphere. The restaurant lacked ambiance that's for sure but the food was absolutely delicious! The chef deserves recognition & a raise! Our steaks were prepared perfectly. The entire meal was a 10. We asked Suzette for 2 empty take out glasses (for our water) so she brought us 2 glasses FILLED with water. She was so harried that she didn't listen. We asked Nolan, the bus boy for the empty glasses & he quickly brought them. So Nolan deserves a raise also. All in all our experience was a 5 out of 10. The chef & the bus boy saved the visit from being a zero. When 2 people spend over $200 for an evening meal one expects to have a leisurely evening. We were in & out in 60 minutes. read more

Heard through a friend to try this place...SO GLAD WE DID. Visiting Zion from Los Angeles and had made a reservation based on a suggestion. This Santa Fe styled building didn't it disappoint. Got in from the heat, and was seated right away. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Our server Sam was friendly and attentive... we asked a few menu questions and she made a few suggestions...and everything turned out great. Hard to please 3 teens and 2 adults...but not a bad word was said. Then dessert suggestions, too many options (4) so we tried all. We agree the Lemon Cheesecake with blueberries was the front runner, tiramisu close behind, then baklava and flourless chocolate cake. First time coming to this restaurant. I was excited being referred by a local. Coming from Las Vegas we may be spoiled with quality and definitely customer service. The food was great. However they definitely missed the mark when it comes to service. I asked to be seated outside. We ordered, got our beverages and then was asked for ID. My 16 year old was with me. She was not of age. We went back to the waiting room. Which was packed. And had to wait again. Order was null and void. When seated we had a waitress that was definitely not a happy camper. Btw you apologize for the experience your guests have had leading up to the time with you. The KICKER is the owner is walking tables. I tell her the experience. She doesn't apologize. Doesn't offer a drink or appetizer on them . Nothing. Mind you . I ordered a $60 steak. Plus my daughters meal. The food was great. But the experience was not. Taking pride in service is just as important than the quality of food. $150 in this economy and bad service. Never again. The owner needs to step up. She was aware. Didn't even offer an apology. If you want a taste of homemade first class American cuisine with generous cuts of succulent, juicy grilled meats, exciting flavors, and fresh ingredients, come. I'm an experienced traveler from NYC, and their plates of dino rib and pork chop blew my face off. I had come to the American southwest on a tour of Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon and on my last days was dying for a good meal, which as you all know is extremely challenging to find in these parts. After stupidly waiting 2 hours for pasta in Zion my first night and battling inane crowds for banal food, I decided that a 20-min drive would be a breeze. It was. I was served quicky by the delightful waiter Ezra who seemed to know everything about where the food was sourced and how it's made and the charming owner's wife, Cindy Radinos, who also happened to be the artist behind all the beautiful paintings adorning her restaurant - not gonna lie, that woman's work was better than half of what I saw on sale for thousands in the Grand Canyon museum. We are visiting Utah for the first time and my family and I more than enjoyed our experience here at Balcony One. The food was amazing, I ordered the shrimp linguine and my husband ordered the rib pasta and we about licked our plates clean! Our kids had a pizza and chicken strips off the kids menu and they also loved the food. That atmosphere was refreshing as they had music playing and we felt like we didn't have to be hushed, especially with our 3 young kids being cooped up in the car all day. As for the service, the serves were amazing! Our server was so nice and polite. He made us feel so welcomed. Once we ate dinner he brought us over there house made deserts and we picked the chocolate cake and cheese cake. We devoured those too! I would totally recommend this place to anyone. I made a reservation at Balcony One after my hotel recommended it. From the moment I walked in I had a sense that this was going to something special. The hostess greeted me warmly and I was quickly seated. My server, Austin, promptly came to my table to orient me to my dining experience and take my drink order. I selected one of their signature cocktails which was well made and delicious. As I perused the menu, I was offered an amuse-bouche which was a delightful preview of what I had to look forward to. My server was very well-spoken and knowledgeable about the menu. There were so many fabulous choices that I had wished that I could pick several. I settled on the Dino Rib, a Smoked Beef Rib served with Chili Nopales, corn cakes and a side of their house made apple-jalapeño BBQ sauce. While I was enjoying my cocktail as my entrée was being prepared, the Pit Master, brought me an out-of-this-world sample of their bone-in-bacon. The GM came by to introduce himself as I was recovering from my transportive bone-in-bacon ecstasy. I also was introduced to the owner, George Rodinos, and was impressed by his friendly manner that conveyed the warm hospitality of what you might only expect at your best friend's home. As the night went on, I realized that each member of the staff that I encountered demonstrated this same attitude of genuine warmth. This is something that is rare to find in this day of fast-paced, get them in and then get them out mentality. I felt relaxed and I noticed that customers at the tables around me seemed to be having a similar experience. The atmosphere was trendy, yet cozy. Everywhere there were beautiful, handcrafted touches to the décor. This was a unique restaurant, not something out of a supply catalog. In addition, there were lots of original works of art by George's wife, Cynthia, who I got to meet also. As an art dealer, I was interested in her work, and later gave me a personal tour of her artwork. I had an opportunity to have a drink with George and he took me to their wonderful upstairs balcony seating area. What a great space that is. I sat at the bar and got to talk with several other members of the staff. I did not want to leave. I told them if I lived nearby that this would be my hangout place. Balcony One is a fabulous place for happy hour, a romantic dinner, or special occasion. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Virgin, Utah. The service is unmatched. The staff genuinely cares about your experience. The food is amazing. Everything I tasted melted in my mouth. Absolutely the best meal I had while on my month-long road trip. My family absolutely LOVED Balcony One. We stopped by for dinner one night after visiting Zion. We sat on the outdoor back patio with our dog and enjoyed the mood lighting and heaters. The staff were all super friendly and checking in to make sure we were all good. The food and drinks were superb as well. I really enjoyed the seafood linguine and the baked potato. The linguini was not overly, and had that subtle lobster flavor from the broth. And all the seafood in it was super fresh. The Empress Blossom drink was great as well. Balcony One was recommended by the owner and a few patrons of the restaurant, whom my wife and I met in Springdale. Basically...we were visiting Zion from Las Vegas the weekend of 12/2/23, staying in Springdale and wanted to try something new. First, this place is a short drive from Springdale, UT to Virgin, UT...worth the trip, maybe. The place was beautiful and spacious. We were sat in one of the side rooms at a half circle table, facing the street. I'm not a big fan of that arrangement, just weird to me. Then again, it did offer privacy, so to each their own. We could have moved, but we just rolled with the style. Next, our server came over and after a few questions, we made our order. I asked for the house salad without tomatoes, I got them. I asked for my steak without asparagus (sub broccoli), got the asparagus. Not a big deal, things happen... but I thought that was an easy ask. Our food was cooked perfectly! The steaks were expensive, but you get what you pay for and they were spot on price wise with other high end places. Then, we finished our meal. We had looked online and saw that paying Credit Card would be a 4% extra charge to cover the C.C. fee. We knew this and brought cash. This fee is not a big deal price wise, but this really takes away from the feel. It just does. If we're paying $100+ for a meal...nickel and diming a customer is just "poor". We knew this going in...so it is what it is I suppose. We get the check with the fee already included, not sure how they knew how we were going to pay. In any event, we told the server that we were going to pay cash. She said she'll take the cash and fix the bill. That shouldn't be a thing, to me it shouldn't be assumed how we were going to pay. Lastly, the server came back with our check and change and swooped in and out. She didn't even say, "hope your meal was good", "hope you had a good time", blah, blah. Nothing. She just dropped things off and took off. That's a big deal to us. That's the real reason a person would drive this far (relatively speaking) to have this type of meal AND service. So, we left a 17% tip (probably a little too much) and took off. The staff did wave bye to us. Typically, 20% is my starting point, but man oh man...where's the server to customer "thanks for coming in and blah?" Just a not so good final impression. So...would I go here again, no. My wife and I live in Las Vegas and eat at high end places every now and then. The food here is on par with the high ends (very good), but the service was more like an Outback Steakhouse (no disrespect to Outback). Maybe it's how it is there or maybe it was too early in the day. I don't know, but great food and great service is my expectation at places like this and I think the latter was lacking. 1 star review for the Vegas level prices for extremely mediocre food. The definition of a tourist trap if I had ever seen one. Ordered a medium rare ribeye for myself which was marked as "market price" (literally the first time in my life I've seen this for a ribeye). It came out rare and had to send it back. Also, and for a 50 dollar steak it had way too much fat. Gf got the baby back ribs which were very dry and lacked any flavor. To top it all off, the place charges for using electronic payments. While coming back from Zion decided to try something local and in the way home. Saw the great reviews and was excited to see what it was all about. However I was left unsatisfied and overpaid in my opinion. This was also the first restaurant that I have ever been that had MP on classic steaks like a ribeye. After paying 50 per ribeye both came out to be undercooked and lacking in flavor. The ribs were dry and couldn't even be saved by the mediocre sauce that it came with.
