Good food and service. On the expensive side for a plain breakfast, but worth trying.

Been here a couple times now since it's conveniently near the Costco we go to. Very typical breakfast place - hash browns are hit or miss (sometimes over fried). The star of the meal for me is always the pancake! Get it!! We typically just get one on the side and it's the perfect way to need the meal! Amazing how it holds up coming from Mountain View to San Francisco. We got it for the NFC Championship and will get it for The Superbowl!!!! What a pleasant surprise which! I took my car to Magnussen Toyota for my 5k service and decided to walk around vs wait. Sadly, klutz that I am, I tripped and fell within the first two blocks. This prompted me to change plans and find a place to sit and have breakfast. Baki's was across the street and looked crowded and inviting. I checked the reviews and photos and decided to give it a go. Breakfast is my favorite meal! I rarely eat out as it's usually I'm usually disappointed by the food. NOT HERE! OMG, the pancakes are fluffy, the bacon is superb, eggs cooked perfectly, and coffee is strong. Just found my new favorite breakfast spot. Forgot to mention the service. As I mentioned, I fell and didn't come away unscathed. The server was so nice and brought me not one but two bandages. Can't wait to bring the fam! read more

Every time we are at san jose, we have to go to this restaurant, very good food and good service

If you've grown up with diners all your life, then this one will make you feel right at home. I have ordered brunch multiple times from this place pre-and post Covid. The food quality and portions have never changed and the efficiency and speed at which they sling food can't be beat. Their egg plates are really good including the scrambles and their entire Mexican eggs section. I have had their huevos rancheros multiple times as well as their kitchen sink scramble. Both of those dishes left me very satisfied and full. I recently also tried their buckwheat pancakes which were light and fluffy. They offer pancakes in two or three stacks which is great for me because I get to order a two stack and hotlink - the perfect amount of brunch food on a weekend. Really good simple breakfast! Not to mention very friendly staff. Ok I know...I ordered a simplistic breakfast but it was good. Scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, red potatoes and sourdough toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Soft not too soft, the chicken sausage was very flavorful and the toast was nice and thick; buttered perfectly. Stopped by Bajis with the hubby and grandkids today. As usual the food was spectacular and well made. The chefs made my granddaughters strawberry pancake with the strawberries inside and Abigail loved it. In the past they put them on top of pancake but this time she did not lose a single strawberry. My grandson got his usual French toast with scrambled eggs. These two meals are off of the kids menu. I split the #6 (Colorado) with my hubby. So delish with the really wonderful salsa they make. The servers are really great and very attentive to their customers and it gives Bajis more of a family feeling. My grandkids ask for Bajis by name once a week. Love Bajis and the workers. I ordered from Baji's Cafe for delivery. The Vegetarian Delight dish tasted awesome. The omlette came with assorted veggies and split falafel on the inside. A bed of feta cheese was generously layered on top of the omlette. They had options for side and bread for which I chose to go with hash browns and sourdough slices. I came to Bajis Cafe on a Saturday morning around 10am and the place was already busy with a short line. We had about 4-5 smaller parties ahead of us and was told the wait would be about 10min which was much faster than I expected. However, it was a bit difficult to wave down a host/waiter to put our names down for the waitlist though. We were seated outside in the patio area which was more open with still a wall so it felt a lot nicer with the air and lighting. The patio was also dog-friendly since the table next to me had a really cute labrador! I ended up ordering the Baji's signature scramble, which basically had everything. I thought this was great for someone who was very indecisive like me! The only tip I have for this is to watch out for the jalapenos! I didn't realize they would throw that in so it was a little too spicy for me. Make sure to ask them not to add it if you don't eat spicy food like me. Overall the food was pretty good and while the servers were friendly, I do think they need to be a little more attentive. I'm not sure if the servers were too busy but it took us a long time to order and also get our checks. It was also difficult to wave down a waiter to get water during our meal. The server also got the wrong order for my friend, and when the check came, it had the wrong dish on it. The check was also missing all our drinks and we had to correct them. I would still consider coming back for breakfast but hopefully, I'll be able to have a better experience with the service next time! read more

Really disappointing experience here, I am truly baffled by all the good reviews. The food was very mediocre, flavors were very basic and boring. Each dish really lacked attention to detail that would make the food much better. For example the hamburger patty was clearly not fresh, it was cooked from frozen. Hamburger bun wasn't toasted so it was soggy. Fries were unsalted and lacked flavor. Toast came out unbuttered. The coffee was not good, it tasted burned. The hostess who sat our party was nice and welcoming but no one checked on us after seating us, we had to flag down people who were busy doing other things any time we needed something. So the service left a lot to be desired as well. The prices are what annoyed me the most. They are quite high for basic diner food. I like to support local businesses and am happy to pay for good food and good service, but here we got neither. I really wanted to like this place but I can't recommend it. read more

Tried this place for brunch after outdoor dining started during COVID-19 times. They were following great safety measures. Had the Eggplant sandwich, falafel wrap and the Bajis Famous smoothie which allows you to choose any 3 fruits as ingredients. The flavor on the sandwich and wrap was ok. I had asked for the falafel wrap to be made without any dairy (so that it would be vegan) but they did end up adding a yogurt sauce to it. Vegan friendly!! What a pleasant surprise this place was. Not only was the service quick and everyone was friendly and helpful but they have bomb food! I asked for the veggie skillet without cheese and neglected to ask for no eggs ‍ I told them I was vegan and they fixed me a new vegan plate free of charge and apologized for my mistake. Visited Bajis Cafe one Thursday morning for breakfast. I ordered their scramble - with jalapeños, spinach, and chorizo - plus a side of corned beef hash. The scramble it turns out is huge! And damn tasty! I could not eat the whole thing and had to take the rest to go back to my hotel room! The hash is your typical "from-the-can" - and so predictable and boring. The beautiful Young women, and the Man were both so cheerful, upbeat, and attentive to our needs, refilling our coffee cups and checking in on us frequently The food was fantastic! Bajis is an excellent cafe. We discovered it a couple years ago because it was conveniently located next to the in-laws and we couldn't be happier. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. I think it would be considered outdoor. Nice ventilation. The menu is nice sized brunch menu with good breakfast and lunch options. What I have gotten there that was good, the burgers, the pancakes, the breakfast plates, the chicken fingers, all have been really good. One thing that sets Bajis apart is the service. It's always fast friendly and efficient. You always seem to get what you need when you need it. We wish we were more regulars as we don't live close enough for that, however we feel like regulars every time we walk in the door. read more

My boyfriend and I came to Bajis Cafe for brunch on a Sunday morning before heading to Half Moon Bay for the day. We arrived shortly before noon and surprisingly were seated right away. The place was full but we must have managed to come at the right time - when we left, there was a long line and wait to get in. We started with two glasses of water and two cups of coffee. The service here is great as our glasses of water and cups of coffee were never left un-filled. Their breakfast menu is extensive but I opted for the Border Skillet: two eggs any style with potatoes covered in pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, onions, salsa, and chorizo. I got corn tortillas on the side instead of toast. The chorizo had great spice and flavor to it. I devoured the entire thing! For the price, the quality and quantity of food cannot be beat. My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles and he absolutely loved his food as well. This is a great breakfast/brunch spot with phenomenal fast and friendly service.
