Over the years, They have added grilled items that are quite tasty, but Ima go for the fried anything along with mashies, baked beans, etc. The chicken and dumplings are heaven on earth anytime of the year. Prices are decent, considering the economy these days. If you dine in, there's staff that are happy to help you get your grub to the table, will make sure you have butter and honey for the fluffy buns, and smile no matter how busy it gets. Leaving a buck or 2 is not expected, but a nice gesture for their efforts. Blanca sez check'em out!

Thought I would try the Chicken Livers today. I haven't had them since I was a teenager... and…read moreno... not doing the math on that one! Walked in, joined the line and placed my order. Noticed ladies working in the dining room to assure tables are clean as soon as customers leave. Once your meal is ready, they will call your name or someone will bring it to your table. Retro decor. Loved the music. Located across from SMU. You have the college crowd, residents from the neighborhood, grandparents with their grandchildren, and drive thru all buzzing with conversation. I found the chicken livers lightly battered, crispy on the outside and very tender meat on the inside. Mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans were my sides. All tasty. Add additional seasonings and pepper sauce if you prefer. Be sure to check out the banana pudding. I requested extra meringue. Dessert was made fresh and tasted great. Pick-up, drive through, or dine in. Side note: Although there is no place for a tip when paying for your order... I always leave a tip on the table or hand it to the ladies working there. Much deserved for their hard work, friendly smiles, and pleasant attitude.

However, our first impression wasn't great. My wife and I walked in wearing our Mexico jerseys because Mexico was set to play England in the World Cup. As we waited to be greeted, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being judged by the looks we received. We were then seated in a back corner while most of the front seating was occupied by lighter-skinned patrons. Whether intentional or not, it made me feel uncomfortable and, unfortunately, singled out. As the meal went on, my wife initially didn't share my concerns, but after a comment was made about "saving money" while we were ordering, she also felt the remark was unnecessary and left us wondering if assumptions were being made about us. The food itself was average. The eggs were undercooked, and the chicken-fried steak lacked flavor and had the texture of something previously frozen. The standout item was definitely the biscuits--they were buttery, perfectly crisp on the outside, and easily the best part of the meal. Overall, it was a below-average dining experience. While the service improved after we were seated, the initial impression and a few comments during the meal overshadowed what could have been a much better visit. I hope the restaurant takes every guest's experience to heart because everyone deserves to feel equally welcome.

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive--they really go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. The food is the real star here. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. The portions are HUGE, so you definitely get your money's worth. Their chicken fried steak is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the gravy is rich and delicious. Don't even get me started on the pies--they're out of this world! Service was fast, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the whole experience just felt genuine and comforting. If you're looking for a spot with great food, generous portions, and top-notch service, Norma's Cafe is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

We were sat immediately. Absolutely wonderful people! The coffee was greaaatttt!!! Hot and flavorful!! Not like the light brown tea almost coffee you get at a lot of places. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with the homemade biscuit... oh man. It had been. A while since I had something that good. My wife.\nHad the french toast and bacon. The bread tasted like it was sweet at home.It was already sweet and the bacon was nice , long and thick and crispy. Order a cinnamon roll to go , which we're excited to have here in a couple of hours, but everyone in this establishment is very hospitable , and everyone has a smile. If you have a chance to come and to enjoy please do so. Ask for Joshua!!! Great young man.
