This is my first time getting kbbq in Seattle period, so far so good. 4/5 - Customer service. Good, friendly and somewhat attentive. Our first waiter was attentive in the beginning then as time passed he just disappeared. not much of a complaint since we didn't really needed him however when it was time to pay, there was no one to be seen! I even walked to the front desk, maybe i could pay in front, empty! not sure if that's even safe. I just sat back and waiting patiently until another waiter came to the rescue. 4/5 - Food. I wish they had more option for the meat but whatever. it is what it is, still enjoyed our time here. I did like their soon dubu, it was fresh out the stove, screaming hot. no egg though? x.x Cool how they have the meat in a tower looking plate, thingy. It creates more space to eat. Also soju is $16, yikes and they ran out of makkgeolli /: was trying to get crunk before heading to the airport. ha ha just kidding, ends up being wholesome. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Since it's AYCE, I'm not expecting great quality meats, but I am expecting leave with a full stomache. The place was very spacious. A lot of space and no wait even on the weekends. As a KBBQ enthusiast, this should have been my red flag to turn around. The meat quality was far below subpar - almost inedible. The garlic beef was saltier than the marinated beef. The beef brisket was thick and tough to eat. The side dishes were incredible salty - especially fish cake and bean sprouts. My party and I left immediately after ordering our first round as our appetitive dwindled and the meat was not edible. As for service, we also waited good 10 minutes to be asked if we had ordered. After we requested and check and paid, 2 other servers asked if we were done. The staff was kind though; just seems like there's a bit of disorganization from management. Not bad!! For AYCE KBBQ around Seattle/Bellevue this is my new favorite. Of course if i'm looking for a better value I'd head down to Federal Way or up to Lynnwood- or MEET in Capitol Hill if i'm looking for higher quality a la carte meat. This is located in the international district of Seattle, so street parking is up to the fate of time/day that you're there, but shouldn't be too much of a problem around dinner time. They tend to get busy around dinner service, but they somewhat responsively take reservations through email or Instagram messages. What really gets me excited about Baegopa is how friendly and attentive the staff is! This is becoming increasingly rare with the AYCE places unfortunately, but at this price point ($33-ish) it is nice to see that the service backs it up. The food quality is decent, with a small selection of the popular meat choices, aka chadolbaegi (beef brisket curls), samgyupsal (pork belly), Galbi (marinated shortribs), etc. The AYCE also includes the typical banchan which they are on top of refilling, and a soup of your choice. I've only visited as a group of 2 and 3, so I'm not sure how the experience is with a larger group, but the bigger groups seem to be enjoying themselves! Unfortunately I'm spoiled with Korean BBQ joints from the Sunset & Richmond Districts in San Francisco, so I can't help but judge through this lens. I am still hunting for a caliber spot in the PNW. My primary criticism: coming with my wife, on a date, our only option to be able to cook meat on our table is either all you can eat for $46 each, or ala carte that amounts to about the same price. The ala carte was approx 3 times more food than we could consume. We cooked tons of meat to pack into to go boxes. Secondary criticism: the banchan was fresh, but basic & limited. No little fishies, no broccoli, no large daikon to wrap things in. Overall, not impressed with the banchan. Provide more options for the price points you're giving us, this is more expensive than SF, and that's cray! Lastly: the whole joint got real smoky, the ventilation was almost non existent. I am used to industrial ventilation in joints like this, I left feeling like I smoked a few cigarettes. Not saying I didn't like the food & the experience, I'm just a picky Bitch! Get more TV's. I've had this place bookmarked for ages and finally committed to coming here when my Bf and I were craving kbbq. I was really excited to try this place since it's probably the only AYCE kbbq joint in the Seattle area, but I was really disappointed with how bad my meal was. AYCE is $34 which is pricier compared to their competitors in federal way. While it's super convenient to have this place opened in the heart of seattle, the food was awful. The banchan was disappointing. It tasted one dimensional and there was no variety. The meat wasn't traditionally marinated and tasted like some sort of chinese-korean fusion?? The quality of the meat was bad especially with the "marbled" brisket being one of the toughest meat I've ever chewed. The soft tofu soup was salty and inedible after the second bite and did not taste traditional at all. I admit that while the food was not good, the service was pretty decent with the servers often checking in and changing out the grills. The customer service is the only redeemable quality of this restaurant otherwise I would not recommend coming here. read more

Setting: I only saw half of the dining area (the lower half) and overall it was not bad. I didn't see any vents and when we started to cook the air around us looked hazy. There's a loud TV playing music videos all night, so I would be wary of that if you're easily distracted. Food: The meat itself was good, but the sides and rice were disappointing. The rice bowl is half filled and already out on the table, which means it's cold. The side dishes weren't amazing and there were only a few to choose from. Value: AYCE is still pricey and comparable to the pre-set menus. Baegopa is slightly cheaper than others in the Seattle downtown area, but you could find similar deals with better service elsewhere. The meat was decent and as expected with the price, but I was left wanting more with the side dishes. Service: The servers don't come by a lot, so you have to make the most of it when they do come by. They're not the most attentive and that can stifle a KBBQ experience when your grill is charring after every meat (unmarinated and marinated). I also made a reservation the previous night, but the person on the phone suspiciously only asked for my name and the time (no contact info). When I showed up, the front of house seemed confused and claimed my name wasn't on the list. I waited about 35 minutes, with the front of house telling me "just 10 more minutes" every so often. Although we were seated faster than if I had walked in, it seemed like operations were still a work in progress even for making and managing reservations. Other: The AYCE is limited to 90 minutes, so make sure you have a server nearby to change out your grills frequently and quickly. I really wanted to like this place, but I can't see myself going back or recommending Baegopa. The grill would burn and char after every cook, which the manager explained as "poor quality materials" and my inability to cook well. When prompted for feedback, I shared my thoughts and the manager/front of house seemed to have an excuse for everything that caught my eye, which was frustrating after taking a chance on a new place and sharing my experience. read more

Came here for the AYCE Korean bbq! Price is $33.95 per person as of 6/2021. Interesting quirk is that reservations are done through DMs through Instagram and email. I did get a prompt response through Instagram however! Make sure you finish what you order as there is a surcharge for leftover rice soup and meat!! The meat we ordered was the garlic pork, prime slice of beef brisket, LA galbi, slices of pork belly and soft tofu soup. The meats for the most part was excellent but MVP was definitely the prime slice of beef brisket (the pork belly was a close second! I personally would avoid the tofu soup (unless we had a bad batch) as it was watery and had way too much chili oil in it. Service was okay but I'll give them a pass since it was clear they were understaffed and were running around serving other tables the entire time we were there. They definitely did their best to make sure we were taken care of though! The ambience of this place is definitely catering towards the younger crowd with the Kpop blasting in the background from the TV. We came in as a party of two on a weekday around 2:30, no reservations, and were seated right away. We were seated between two other tables that were already eating, and there were two more tables occupied on the other side of the restaurant floor. From what we could tell, there was only one server working and he was doing it all: serving, bussing, picking up the phone, hosting, etc. He did a great job, was very attentive, refilled whatever we asked for, and kept coming around to see if we needed anything but not to the extent that he was intruding upon our meal. The all you can eat price as of April 2023 is $36.95 per person. This does not include LA galbi as it states on their menu for some reason (can't remember the reason, but it's on their website). There are no physical menus offered. To pull up their menu, there are tiny QR codes taped to the back of the booths for you to scan with your phone. The lighting was dim inside, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It was a very calming, chill ambiance for an ayce kbbq place. It wasn't too loud, but you could hear what anybody at other tables were saying. The marinated boneless short ribs was definitely the best meat option, so we kept getting more of that. Brisket and bulgogi were decent. Pork belly was the worst of the meat selection, it was chewy and gummy. We did not try the garlic chicken and pork, shrimps, soybean soup. Their tofu soup definitely has a spicy kick to it with all of the flakes used. Loved the kimchi banchan, so spicy and fresh. I think we got like 6 or 8 different banchan, so a decent selection. Doesn't come with a ton of sauce but they will give you more upon request. Doesn't come with a salad. Comes with rice upon request. Better than palace kbbq by a long shot. Definitely not up to the bar of California/LA kbbq. The place was clean enough. Would I come back? Hmmmmmm, there's like 5 other kbbq places around Seattle that I want to try, but this one is easily accessible by the link and you don't have to drive far outside of Seattle, so maybe if I'm looking for a quick fix. Very disappointed with my experience here. To start off, I arrived here at 12pm opening time. Server stated that it's still going to be a bit for the meat to come out as they are still prepping. That was a red flag for me already. I came by here for the $37.95 all you can eat that includes LA galbi ribs. They told me they don't have the galbi ribs but instead had boneless ribs as a replacement. I've read reviews dating back as far as beginning of the year and people mentioned that they're out of the galbi ribs. How has a restaurant been out of galbi ribs for 4 months. If you are no longer going to serve galbi ribs, then you need to update your mention and put in boneless ribs, otherwise this is false advertisement. The rest of the beef options were low quality and dry. The pork belly was ridiculously thick, thus taking a while to cook and texture ended up being tough. The only positive for this restaurant was the Kim Chi which had a a good kick of spice. I don't plan on coming back and I don't recommend anyone coming by here to waste their money on poor quality meats and false advertisement. read more

As a SoCal native, I've been missing KBBQ. Definitely make a reservation before going, otherwise be prepared to wait about 45 min - 1 hour at least. I know most folks are going the AYCE route, but also want to stress that even a la carte portions are *extremely generous.* We felt 2 a la carte items were more than enough for 3 people. I want to highlight the non-BBQ options here as well. The seafood pancake was done really well, and not at all greasy. And, the Kimchi Fried Rice was a table favorite and is a great option if you happen to have a vegetarian/pescatarian in your party. Only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because it didn't taste or feel like the OG kbbq. All the banchan (side dishes) were really sweet, even the kimchi so I was a little surprised. They didn't have ssamjang (bean paste sauce) for the meat, which is a must at a kbbq restaurant. The meat quality was 6/10, there were some skin left on the porkbelly which isn't normal for kbbq meat. The server forgot our steamed egg, but we just let it go. Their service was good overall. Very spacious inside, good for groups, and it was clean. If you want to go to a legit kbbq place, that are similar the to ones in Korea, this is not the place. First time trying ayce dinner and it was a bad experience. The server had poor attitude towards us when we asked for minor things like sauces. The side dishes were few and tasted stale. We opted for all the meats except for chicken and the we were really please with our options. The meat was well marinated and the server changed our grill out often! Can't we take a moment and talk about how beautiful decorated this place is?! I love how nice and modern this place looks! The big sign in front adds so much light to the room right when you fist walk in. This space is quite spacious. There's places to sit on both sides. This place felt very welcoming. Customer service is great. There's seems to be only two people working the floor so they seem quite busy running around but they are very attentive to your needs. He sat us down and within 10 mins or so. He came and checked in on us frequently. We got the all you can eat and it very well worth it. We had the brisket (marinated and non marinated) and the LA galbi. All was very delicious! Love the sauces that were offered. It paired very well with the meat. The salad was so tasty! If your trying to avoid carbs you can eat it with your meat. We got the tofu soup and the soy bean soup. Both were very flavorful. The sides however were ok. I didn't find anything to special about them and have had better else where. Overall experience here was great. I would definitely come back again as the vibe here was super chill and laid back. However, there are a couple recommendations I would love to leave for the restaurant. You guys don't have a main phone number for people to contact. Especially with the pandemic and limited seating it would be nice to know whether or not reservations need to be made ahead to time. I was told by the server there that you can make reservations on Instagram but not everyone has that especially the older generations like my folks so that can be a big inconvenient but also nobody even knew that Instagram was the place for reservations anyway so that was a bit confusing. The Yelp wait time also doesn't not reflect how busy the restaurant really was. Lucky for us it was not too busy so they were able to accommodate us. GO TO ACYE KOREAN BBQ SPOT! The salad may be one of my favorite things on the menu with AYCE. In addition, you can have soup along with your meal too. We've been here several times with different friend groups and they all loved it. The bulgogi is a must, along with the brisket and galbi (I believe or something similar). Priced really well also. I was really excited to try this place but was very disappointed because taste was very far from the Korean bbq that I know. Food was bad, but the server (the one with the straight hair who greets customers) is the worst. He did not even explain what they offer upon ordering and we hardly get any help from him. For some weird reason, he was very attentive to those guys seating next to our table. My brother asked the guy for a dipping sauce refill but he didn't get any. On our first order, they tried to cut down meats they served 3 pieces shrimp for our first order seriously? To those people giving this place a 5 star, that is very misleading. There aren't that many great Korean bbq places in Seattle so I was super excited when Baegopa opened. Overall it was okay, but still not somewhere that I can say has truly great Korean bbq. We did the AYCE option which didn't have that many options (although looking at their website now, they might have added more meat types). My main issue is that their marinades all tastes a bit off compared to the traditional galbi and bulgolgi marinade taste, which basically meant we were only eating brisket after we tried the different meats. They offer "all-you-can-eat" and "a la carte" (my preference is the latter). Also, this is the best customer service I've ever received anywhere Chinatown.. and any KBBQ place! Our server's name was Raymond. He was so attentive, friendly, and helpful. Big thank you for making our first time experience here a great one :)! I really appreciated that he kept refilling our side dishes when we ran out (I'm a side dish monster lol - yummy kimchi, fish cake, beansprouts, and potatoes! I do wish they had cucumber kimchi). He also managed the heat and grill replacement perfectly. We ordered a couple of beers, the combo 2 (2x brisket, marinated beef, and pork belly) and steamed egg. All of them were delicious! I liked that the brisket meat cuts were large, and the marination on the beef was good (I usually don't like these as much as the others but the one here had a nice flavor). The dipping sauces are sesame + oil with salt and a sweet soy sauce. I asked for a spicy sauce or gochujang and they offered me something similar called ssamjung and it was bomb!! It's bean paste + gochujang. The combo 2 said it feeds 2-3 people but I think it feeds 4! First KBBQ experience since covid! I was pretty excited to FINALLY eat somewhere in-doors and I get to do the cooking myself. I booked a reservation via Instagram DM the day of, the who process was pretty easy, just let them know that you are coming and give them a time estimate. Not sure if they updated their address on Google maps, but make sure you use the Yelp address instead, they were not the same for me. We ordered the AYCE for 2 and I thought it was just kind of a meh experience for me. They give huge portion sizes, but what I didn't like was the limited appetizers and meat options that typically AYCE KBBQ will have. Also, I thought their meat marination was iffy as well. Something I did like about them: they change your grill for you often! I really appreciated them for this. Seriously so happy we have an AYCE KBBQ spot that I can walk/take the light rail to! We had the greatest experience dining in last night - all I have are pros, no cons! The burners get ripping hot and the meat is better quality than pretty much all the other AYCE joints outside of Seattle. Yes, the pork belly slices can be fattier than some but if you look at my picture, that was the typical meat to fat ratio we had. Normally we avoid the marinated meats because they're overly sweet but that wasn't the case here! Something that impressed us was they give you two tongs right off the bat. They definitely don't believe in cross contamination here! Normally we need to bother our server about getting an extra one. What was even more impressive was the service. Our group was eating through our meat pretty quickly and our server was gracious enough to let us know that there would be a delay on bringing our next refill out. During the time we were waiting, he changed our grills and replenished anything we wanted. He also let us know that we didn't have to worry about the time limit since we had to wait for our next refill. We found out at the end of our meal that our server was the manager! first impression walking in, noticed how beautiful the interior designing was. Very spacious and modern. Let's start with the food. We were kind of skeptical of the meat because of the reviews. Boy we were wrong. Decided to choose the all you can eat and the meat quality was way better than any other kbbq in Seattle. It was tender and had just the right amount of fat. Not to mention the cuts were very generous and had me coming back for more even though we only had a round of meat. The side dishes were unique, some of them were new but very good. Usually when I try new side dishes, they aren't appetizing or pleasing. You get unlimited side dishes as well. The best one was the salad because the dressing wasn't overpowering but left a great impression. There was a big reason why I wanted to write this review right when I left and it was because of the service. Our waiter Hai (sorry if i spelled your name wrong) helpful. Not only did he give us amazing service, but was very helpful. He directed us towards the good things on the menu, whilst also telling us what to avoid and you don't get much honesty like that anymore in a restaurant setting! He made us feel welcomed and rarely do we get a server who was as nice as him despite being how slammed he was since he was the only server. KBBQ in International District, finally! Baegopa also has a new AYCE option for $33. We opted for the AYCE option which includes a very limited menu with a 1.5 hour limit. They've done pretty well in terms of COVID precautions. The place is pretty large and seating is only every other table to allow for social distancing. Ventilation becomes a little bit of an issue as they lack ventilation hoods above the grills/tables. Service is a little bit slow, servers confused about what was ordered, etc etc etc. Not as good as a well oiled machine so hopefully thinks only start to improve after soft opening. As for the actual food: it was okay. From their limited menu of 5 items off the AYCE, we only tried the kalbi, brisket, and marinated beef slices. Brisket was not great due to excessive amounts of FAT on every slice. Some slices inedible due to it being literally just fat and being chewy. Kalbi was good! But be prepared to order many rounds of this as they serve 1 piece of rib for every order. How I see it: for the price, ok quality, and limited options you have on the AYCE menu, you're paying for the novelty and ease of having AYCE in Seattle. If you're willing to drive out to the east side, you'd be better off paying the same (if not less) for more options and equal quality. read more

Sure there might be better deals and higher quality kbbq in other places but I gotta say this place is amazing for Seattle. The service was great. They came around and changed our grill all the time without us having to ask and the meats came out quickly each round. We were able to order slightly before we finished each round so the next round came before we were done. Also the 4 item max only applied to meats. We were able to get rice, rice paper and soup along with it! The AYCE also comes with unlimited salad refills!! For 45 per person after tip and tax, it's not cheap but honestly not too bad. I would say this place is unbeaten in AYCE in Seattle but in the end there are better places for Kbbq a la carte. I debated going back and forth between one star and two stars but ultimately settled for two. Street parking. I love Korean BBQ so I was excited to try this place. Came in on a Saturday afternoon for $30 AYCE lunch option. Menu says prime brisket but that definitely wasn't USDA prime meat, maybe prime meaning shipped by Amazon Prime... Side dishes were terrible, all tasteless and mass produced store-bought, not homemade or authentic tasting. Sprouts were mungsprouts instead of soybean sprouts and were soggy and tasteless other than pepper instead of sesame oil taste. Kimchee soggy and only flavor was msg/salt. Meat quality was bad. Pork belly had a layer of skin on it making it very chewy. They brought us more than we wanted and we asked them to take half back before we touched it and they told us not to worry as long as we don't cook it, which makes me wonder if they serve you meat that other people also didn't eat and left uncooked on the table the whole time. Servers were rushed and hard to understand and there were two for the whole restaurant (which only half was open), they didn't do a great job and constantly had to flag them down. I usually love eating brisket at KBBQ but this brisket was as low quality as it gets, had that funny taste and smell that low quality frozen meat from H mart has. It was cut too thick too which made it tougher and chewier as opposed to a nice paper thin cut. I was really disappointed because this location is much closer than having to drive all the way to Federal Way for KBBQ but sadly the quality is bad and not worth the price. If you're looking for kbbq reminiscent of those LA joints, you've come to the right place! The meats were really good quality (think thick, fresh cuts) and the AYCE is pretty worth it. The selection of protein isn't the largest, I believe you can get pork belly (different flavors), beef brisket, beef kalbi and a few others. I was hoping they'd have more protein options, but maybe they'll have more variety soon since they just opened not long ago. Side dishes were solid, but nothing memorable. The soups were delicious! Rice was surprisingly cold, and a little dry (but if you're here for the meats I guess that doesn't matter). The waitstaff were attentive and friendly, would definitely recommend this kbbq spot! A call out, if you're feeling a little iffy about social distancing due to covid, this place might make you ever so slightly uncomfortable. There isn't technically any social distancing in place, but there are plastic screens that separate between tables. This place has decent AYCE KBBQ for a location that is in Seattle. Service can be good and the meat quality is decent. I absolutely detest Bellweather (that is not KBBQ at all) so I'd rather come here but there are better AYCE places outside of downtown Seattle. This place is deceptively bigger than what it looks, and the food deceptively larger/better than what the small-ish menu alludes to. I'm used to having 20 different meat options (not really, but close) when I have AYCE, so I was caught a bit offguard to only see ~5. Tried everything and was really impressed with the quality and cuts of meat. They bring out portions as you go, which worked pretty for us so that we didn't have too much offer meat. Eating the all-you-can-eat, besides the meat being great, I have to say what really stuck out to me was the fact that every side dish and the soon tofu soup on the side was sooooo good. THAT'S the real mark of a top tier KBBQ experience. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find GREAT soon tofu or dengjjangjjigae is in most KBBQ joints? Really really hard. This place is poppin! Took about 45 mins to get a table, but it was worth it! Good price for an all you can eat, we definitely did not go home hungry. It was our first time there, so we ordered a little bit of everything from the all you can eat choices. A brand new Korean BBQ place in Seattle Chinatown. The store is clean and spacious. The food quality was good for the price range, but not really great if you prefer to pay more for higher quality. There was only two kinds of dipping sauces. None of them were spicy, which I actually preferred. Besides, they were short of waiters/waitresses, the only waiter worked really hard to serve all thr tables. However, he just didn't have time to changr thr griller sometimes.
