First time eating BBQ, it was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. It was so good and spicy. I got the pile plate with cornbread, beans, and ribs.

If you are downtown and want good barbecue with good customer service stop here. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon, there were a few people inside. I walked up and someone helped me decide what I wanted. I came in for rib tips but they only serve ribs on Thursday and Friday (call ahead to make sure the days are accurate). I chose the 2 meat combo - brisket and hot links with beans. I made a good choice because the food was so good. I asked them to mix the sauce so it's not too spicy and it was perfect. When I come to Seattle again I'm going to be sure to stop by "this" hole in the wall for more yummy barbecue. The hours are short so get it while you can.

Seating was perimeter counter style and no tables. Lighting excellent No music was great Food was absolutely amazing The staff was pleasantly engaged! Ribs perfectly smoked and cooked with perfect amount of sauce. Brisket was moist and delicious. Chicken was of the pulled sort but hands down best I ever had! I'm coming back!

Two-Meat Combination w/ Brisket and Chicken and Potato Salad

Man, I wanted to really like Hole in the Wall BBQ because the owner is sooo awesome and friendly! Plus, there's not much BBQ around Seattle, so we need more meaty choices. But after my colleague and I ate our lunch from here, we thought it was just A-OK. My colleague and I were walking back to the office and needed to find a spot while en route for takeout. We found Hole in the Wall BBQ and had heard great things about it, so decided to check it out. The space is not the largest, but has enough seating for those who want to dine in; but it seems like this place is mostly a takeout spot with it being so close to many offices. The menu was straightforward with a lot to offer, with specials of the day. I decided to get the two-meat combination, which comes with a choice of two meats and a choice of a side. For meats, I chose brisket and chicken and the potato salad as a side, and for sauce, I asked for the spicy one. It didn't take long for us to get our takeout, which was nice since we were on a time crunch. As mentioned, the food was okay. The brisket was overcooked, so was more on the dry side and though the chicken wasn't dry, it had a very chewy texture. Although I ordered my entrée with the spicy sauce, the sauce was not spicy at all. However, the potato salad was chilled and tasty. Perhaps I came on an off day, but I thought the BBQ wasn't anything I'd crave again. It wasn't bad, but I'd likely check out another eatery for lunch.

Was looking for some barbecue in Seattle and found this place. It was OK but the portions were very small. Flavor is pretty good but definitely need the extra sauce! However, the cashier was very friendly and helpful. I could tell this place was a fan favorite

I circled back to this place on my walk home, so glad I did! It's the perfect amount of fatty pieces, juicy and their homemade coleslaw is top tier. The pricing is fair, especially being downtown! I ordered the two meat plate with spicy sauce(pork and brisket). This meal paired with a sweet tea is perfect. The people here are really friendly, and great with recommendations if you don't know what you want

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the…read moresandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

This is THE spot to come before Mariners games or nearby concerts and nobody can convince me otherwise. I've tried them several times in the past and now have my dad hooked as well. Their signature Caribbean Roast sandwich is absolutely phenomenal and I have the hardest time ordering anything else when I'm here. I have tried the nachos version of it before as well, and that's equally delicious. The key is definitely that succulent roasted pork. I will say that the sandwich version is MESSY so don't wear white, and also just be mindful if you have plans after. This year, my dad decided to order a pre-seasoned and smoked turkey from Paseo and my GODDD it was good! We made a gravy from the drippings as well which turned out so good too. While it's a good sandwich, it felt a bit heavy; I really found myself looking for more acid to cut through the fat and grease. I'm glad I was sharing with Jenny because it's quite a lot for one person. I also noticed toward the end that the bread was burnt. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good.
