I was so excited to finally try Badash Bakes! Overall everything was delicious and the service was great. It was about a 30 minute wait and arrived prior to opening. But most importantly let's get to the sweets: Chocolate chip cookie: This the best brown butter chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. I usually do not like brown butter cookies, but this one was amazing. The crunchy edges and the soft center was the perfect texture. 9/10 S'mores cookie: Delicious, but I do wish it had more of *something* I can't put my finger on it. It tasted a little too similar to the chocolate chip cookie. 8/10 Matcha cinnamon roll: I wanted to love it as an avid matcha drinker, but I liked it a lot. The texture was beautiful, soft, and pillowy. As far as matcha flavor it is subtle, but their is a sliiiight bitterness to it that I prefer more in the drink as opposed to a cinnamon roll. 8/10 Classic cinnamon roll: Truly incredible. I came this morning around 8:45(don't judge me) just in case there was a long line. When I started to see people form around 9:30, that's when I got out my car. It was crowded and I was not about to assume what is where so I asked the workers to confirm and felt like I was a bother (I got the 'gen z stare' except these women were not Gen Z). They could have greeted and directed customers when they walked in to avoid confusion but the group of 5ish female workers didn't look up at all and just let the lines grow. As a POC supporting a black owned business, I did not feel welcomed here, in fact very much dismissed by the front register cashier Jalayla who didn't bother to make eye contact and brushed me off with her questions (what flavors? need a receipt?), yet had all the time and sweetness in the world for the black woman ordering before me (who had a long and complicated, split order & even had extra directions on how to bag her goods after they had already been bagged - yeah, she was that girl and was acknowledged, respected and taken care of). As a customer with a simple order, and seeing better treatment towards someone who was difficult and held up the line - this makes me think there's a service bias for black customers. I see this behavior at white establishments often, depending on the area, and did not expect this mean girl energy at all. I didn't even want to post or tag them on IG, because I will not support a business like this - I unfollowed immediately. Food review - I tried a few cookies (6 for $21): Cornbread: texture was there but they didn't commit to the cornbread flavor. You can skip this flavor S'mores: absolutely White chocolate macadamia: yes The matcha cinnamon roll was underwhelming and bread has a sour after taste. This one is more photogenic than tasty. It's worth the hype! I usually go early on Saturday mornings and while parking can be frustrating the treats make up for it! The cinnamon roll is divine...just the right amount of sweet and so soft! I enjoy a fully soft cinnamon roll not just the middle and they deliver. The cookies are good! We tried about 6 flavors in total and all passed the test. The brownies the chocolate and the s'more were the right amount of richness. first of all, let me start with the service absolutely amazing. I called at 3:30 to see if they had any banana pudding left and they close at 4 PM. They said they had a few left but if they didn't, they'd even be willing to scoop me some fresh ones when I got there. The person who answered the phone also told me that they close at 4 PM, but they're usually there a few minutes after so if I'm running late just to knock on the door and they would take care of me. I mean, who says that to customers these days. I've seen this place all over TikTok and decided to stop off and grab a few things. I picked up some banana pudding and a few different cookies. I really wish I would've never come to this place cause I have this feeling I am now addicted. I love to see good people with great ideas do well. I have gone twice! Once during the actual opening. During that time, we came at the right time as the line was just outside the door. It's a small shop and hot, I'm guessing due to the ovens. We got the strawberry banana matcha, s'more brownie, Tres leches, double chocolate cookie, and a brown sugar cookie (they were all out of cinnamon rolls at the time). All for about $45. The matcha was so amazing, super creamy! 9/10. The Tres leches was so good and fresh 8/10. As for the rest, I guess not a big fan of thin cookies. Just seemed bland and too chewy for my liking. Brownie was okay, super dense and fudgy which made it seem borderline underdone. I just stopped by this week for the matcha. This time I got the cinnamon rolls, a regular and a matcha, as well as a carrot cake ($35). Again I am noticing a texture trend, very soft but I believe it is cooked throughly. Too soft for me, but I did heat them up at home and the sugar helped give a nice texture to the outershell and it was good. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the matcha one more! As for the carrot cake, I took one bite and didn't like the texture and the taste wasn't there. Dense cake with not much spice or carrot taste, even the frosting wasn't too flavorful. Overall, it has potential to grow as they just opened, but to each their own. I'll support by continuing to buy matcha when I am in the area, but not worth spending $30 plus on treats. As for the space! Too small for the esthetic that the owner is trying to achieve, could be adjusted by removing the display table and making a cute mini one by the cashier.
