Salty. Everything is too salty. (I normally like salty food, but this is way too salty.)

We went here last night for a 30th birthday dinner and had a great time. It's a small restaurant with a good size garden area. Not much of a bar to speak of (only two stools!). They accept reservations (which are recommended). Everyone who worked here was kind and helpful, from the bartender to waiters to bus boys...nothing unpleasant to report! They have a good sized wine and cocktail list as well as a handful of beers (two on draft and the rest bottled). The food is what pushes them above and beyond your average Italian restaurant in Williamsburg. All of the pasta, mozzarella cheese, and bread (tastes a little sourdough-ish) is made fresh daily. I enjoyed the pappardelle with a lamb ragu sauce and it was fantastic. The lasagna and seafood pastas also came highly recommended. They also have a huge number of pizzas and a large wood fired oven. We tried the margherita pizza which was good. Many of the group got the arugula pizza which was well received. Prices were commensurate or less than what I'd expect for the neighborhood (many options in the $10-$15 range). I wouldn't say this place screamed family friendly but I was surprised at the number of young kids that were there while we were dining on Saturday evening. Stumbled upon this place late on Saturday and they were very kind to serve us (it was 11 pm). The food was stellar. Husband had a lamb ragu, I had a chicken and sausage dish with roasted peppers. We had a fantastic salad to start with arugula, beans, parmigiano reggiano, bacon, and a lemon dressing. It was really delicious. They were out of the mussels we asked for, but our waitress recommended a delicious shrimp, bacon, fava bean dish instead that was heaven. Though it's not out 'hood, we'd go back. read more

i was very disappointed by their Dine-In Brooklyn menu. most of the offerings were not from the actual menu except for the pizzas, which are the cheapest entree item anyway. i ended up getting the pizza because the other stuff didn't sound very interesting. pizza was fine, nothing special. the one thing i couldn't stand was the loud, club music. once it started getting crowded the music started blaring and i could barely have a conversation with my friends. i'm really annoyed by restaurants trying to act like clubs so they can appear hip and trendy. can i just eat in peace? read more

One of my favorite Italian places in the city. The price is right for the delicious and perfect al dente pasta. I was recently in Venice and was disappointed with the Linguini and clams. Lucky to have a good restaurant local where they make that delicious dish even better than in Italy. The pizza is think, savory and crusty. I've only ordered delivery from this place and always on time. I hope one day I actually bring my family there for dinner. read more

Me and two friends went for brunch last sunday and it was unreal. We all had a different variation of the breakfast pizza, we all agreed this was some of the best pizza we ever tasted. Their drinks were tasty but strong, their passionfruit mimosa is unlike any other I've tried. The mojitos were pretty good too and the service was efficient, quick and attentaive. Italiano nouveau in da house. This place has gots the sleek down packed. Fry up the calamari and put it in your boca and let the flava simma! It's fizantastical. But, peeps needs to improve on the meats in da house cuz mama like her some pork and dat stuff was dry like i like my martinis. Ordered here for the first time yesterday and I was greatly disappointed . I ordered simply on the strength of there strong reviews on yelp and Grubhub. I ordered the buffalo a pomodorini And the prosciutto fungi. There were 2 major problems with it. One it was cold when it got here I don't know who to blame for that, either the delivery guy or the guy who made it. The other was that dough wasn't done it was too chewy like gum. I popped it in the oven for another 10-15 min till it was ready. The pizza itself was good once reheated the toppings were top notch but this one experience will have me looking elsewhere for quality pizza . read more

Leaving one star mainly because of the staff's lack of customer service. Open Table states: Baci Abbracci Williamsburg | Italian BYOB -Offer applies only if each individual in party orders a main course. Wine only If this was on a NY magazine 2013 article I could understand the confusion but it is on open table and we chose this restaurant because of this reason. We got there only to find out it wasn't true. We stayed anyway to try it since it was pouring rain outside but I won't go back. The pasta was fine but nothing new and amazing compared to the many other Italian options in the city. At that time I couldn't remember where I read the byob policy and when I called to let them know what site it is on, there was no apology just an ok. It would have been nice if the wine we ordered was comped or at least be offered a gift certificate for another visit. Restaurants should honor the advertisements that are out there. read more

Came here on a Saturday night because Samurai Mama was full and were starving. I ordered the calamari and papardelle with lamb ragu. The calamari was alright, the lamb ragu was better. Everyone's food was fine, but nothing spectacular. The only complaint I had was the lasagne- smallest portion EVER! My poor friend, who eats more than any of us, was left pretty hungry after he got a 4 x 4 x 2 piece of food. Probably won't be coming back here. read more

Baci & Abbracci is the BEST! Discovered this place about 4 years ago, was looking for an italian restaurant to take my parents to in Williamsburg but my father is a VERY picky eater (only orders chicken parm or lasagna) and didn't want a dark old school spot or anything too expensive. We were so happy when we got there because not only was the food perfect - obsessed w/ their bread they make it there - but the outdoor garden in the back is beautiful. They're always so warm and friendly too, it's rare to get that in such a trendy 'too cool for school' kind of neighborhood. It is the perfect date night spot right across the street from Williamsburg Cinemas. We ate there on Christmas Eve one year, had a birthday dinner w/ a big group and just recently had them cater our WEDDING! Got married at the Greenpoint Loft in July and we were allowed to bring in any caterer so we thought about local restaurants we love and Baci was at the top of the list. Mimmo was an absolute rockstar from day 1, he helped craft the perfect variety of antipasti and buffet items that were huge crowd pleasers all while being super buttoned up along the way. I'd have reminders to check in with him and he would email me a few days before just to see if there was anything we needed, it was such a breath of fresh air for a stressed out bride planning a DIY wedding. Our guests raved about the food- it really was a perfect combination of traditional dishes my father and picky eaters would be happy with but plenty of sophisticated hor d'oeuvres for the foodies to stand out. Thanks again to the Baci & Abracci staff and to those who have never been there - go! our fav dish is the Linguini alle Vongele (my husband orders it every time, sometimes i try something new but i'm always jealous of his and he devours it so now we both order the same thing!) and the nutella pizza for dessert I actually dream about. I'm not really a dessert person but this is an absolute must order. We look forward to many more years of dining here and hopefully more big celebrations catered by Baci & Abbracci. read more

Good Italian food! The beet Gnocci is still my favorite.

This place is the sleeper hit of Williamsburg! The food is incredible-- the pizza bianca is my favorite, and the salmon, meat, and pasta dishes are all excellent. The wait staff could not be kinder. And there is a lovely outdoor garden in the back. It's kind of amazing that this place isn't more popular than it is-- but that's part of its charm-- there's never a wait for a table and it has none of the pretension of the other restaurants in the area. While some other places wanted to limit us to a fixed price, or took too long to respond to online requests, this was they only place that was so accommodating. Furthermore, service was great. I absolutely adore this restaurant. I work just up the block and it is repeatedly my first choice for dinner much to my co-workers' vexation. I am not sick of it yet!! I think the service is fantastic and the backyard is gorgeous with a wall that has been swallowed in hydrangeas... they are even considerate enough to burn scent-free mosquito coils in the summer--wow! Their pizzas are all awesome though the ones with tomato sauce can be a little messy. I really like this restaurant! I'm really not a fan of most Italian restaurants, but the food here doesn't disappoint. I have been here 3 times and have loved it each time. The ambiance is great and the food is delicious. All three times I had the Cavatelli with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage (I just love the dish) and it has always been great. Also, my friends and husband really enjoyed this place as well and they purchased other dishes. The dessert menu is great too, if you're a dessert person. If you're looking for a good Italian restaurant that has a great ambiance, good food and won't break the bank, give this one a try. I don't think you'll be sorry. read more

a big thumbs up to mimmo who is wonderful...and the staff not in your face and yet available. this is important because it's very easy to shift the balance! we ordered the "Ravioli di spinaci/Spinach and ricotta ravioli with black summer truffle" which was yumsiliscious there was a pumpkin panacotta special that evening which really (contrary to what it sounds like) was light on the palate and just right the wine selection is great and compliments the food... i rechecked it on the website and i see that they keep trying to update it (i also belong to their mailing list! lol) anyway, so the point is you should go .. definitely. it's private .. great for dates and funnily enough family friendly too. big big ups! read more

i try to avoid frequenting places that require me to take a cab or subway, but i will always make an exception for baci & abbracci. the staff rocks. mimmo and paolo, the ever-friendly purveyors of great food, tasty drinks, and good vibes, keep me and many of my friends coming back for more. here would be my ideal baci experience: i get seated at the outdoor patio in the back with a group of my peeps on a perfect summer afternoon. we start off with the truffle oil pizza as an appetizer. bomb. i take much less than the usual ten minutes it takes me to decide which of my two favorite baci dishes to order--the red beet gnocchi or the carbonara. (the red beet gnocchi was featured on abc and is, i think, their signature dish.) brilliant...i order the carbonara while the person next to me orders the red beet gnocchi so i can plate pick. sippin' on passion fruit mimosas, the food comes.........ahh, done. stuffed to perfection and taking in the good weather, i order dessert--another passion fruit mimosa before i take off to watch a summer blockbuster action movie. heading out...the playlist is cool once again, making me note to self to download a song later. bye mimmo, bye paolo. see you again soon. ...why can't all restaurants be this great? read more

I've been meaning to dine here since they first opened but because of work and other crap, I didn't get eat there til a couple months ago. I cousin from out of town was staying in williamsburg so I figured we'd eat there. Based on the other reviews on Yelp, I tried their beet and goat cheese gnocchi. It was really really good. My cousin, being from puerto rico was a little leery about Italian food and the chef was happy to make her a simple linguine Alfredo. The service was also very good. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They were also so kind enough to give us complimentary limoncello. I will definitely return to this restaurant especially to try their pizza. read more

The service was terrible. I took my daughter to dinner for her birthday. I asked the waiter for a candle for her cake that we ordered. The waiter commented dont worry we wont embarrass you to much. Ten minutes later, out comes her dessert and no candle nothing. The waiter seems to have forgot. I was pissed. When he brought the check , he says did the kitchen put a candle in your cake? We said No. He said the kitchen must of been in a bad mood and he just walked away. I said, you should have noticed right before he abruptly walked away. The food was good but the server was just horrible. His name was Paolo. Paolo needs to go back to server school. He did not refill drinks and constantly forgot every thing we asked for. read more

The bathroom, though, looked as if a small person's child might have exploded in there displaying the results of a fascinating experiment as to what the food there looks like after it's journey through the digestive tracts. I could have done without that impart. The pizza was not quite as crispy and thin crust as I would have liked but to be fair they did inform me it would not be. We were terribly excited to see the famous 'washer upper' there who had, according to a fellow reviewer here, berated a diner with unintelligible rants for seemingly no reason only to vanish back into the kitchen as quickly as he had appeared. That is almost worth paying more to see. On the whole, I liked Baci and Abracci and the cocktails were good too. Their pancetta is worthy of attention and the service is good.The bathroom issue could have happened anywhere of course. read more
