Coconut sorbet and Turkish pot de creme
    Jershawn H.

All the courses from this restaurant are exploding with flavors from the 1st course being the African peanut stew and deviled eggs, the 2nd course being the baharat chicken and the kofta kebabs and 3rd course being the coconut sorbet and Turkish pot de creme. All 3 courses are extremely good. They are slightly spicy but not too spicy that you can't eat and taste the rest of the flavors. The Turkish pot de creme and coconut sorbet are a hit and you won't go wrong choosing either one but the sorbet was my favorite. It's very creamy and delicious but like I said you can't go wrong if choosing the Turkish pot de creme. Baba is a must try if looking for some place to eat during restaurant week. The ambiance is very chill and relaxing with low light setting and the service is chill with no rush or pressure.

4.5 Stars A cozy spot with high quality, unique, Middle Eastern fusion fare. It is on the pricey side for sure but I think the food warrantees it. Think, small shareable plates from $15-30 range. We came as a group of 6 and ordered waaay too much food. The drinks were great. I enjoyed the Velvet Smoke ($16) - the cinnamon, blood orange, and smoky mezcal meld so beautifully. Appetizers: * Deviled Eggs ($14) - GET THESE, they are your classic creamy rich deviled eggs with warm spices added * Kawarma ($20) - Hummus with Lamb - awesome * Whipped Feta with Honey ($18) - also awesome * Latkes ($15) - crispy and addcictive Entrees: * Shakshuka ($25) - as good as shakshuka gets * Turkish Mac & Cheese ($22) - good and creamy with pistachios on top - interesting but would not recommend * I didn't try it but everyone was raving about the chicken kabob ($25) Desserts: * Turkish Pot de Creme ($12) - I LOVE cardamon in desserts Pot omg, that whipped cream with cardamon I could eat everyday * Baba's Baklava ($14) - excellent * Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Kataifi ($14) - the only thing our table did not like. It was salty and we couldn't find the chocolate. So strange. They explained it was new on the menu and needed some tweaking, and kindly comped it. Staff are super nice :) The PITA is to die for - it's fresh, warm, and fluffy.

I can't. Not anymore. I can no longer go to a Mediterranean restaurant and be satisfied unless it's Baba. This has changed me. Gorgeous little place, could have used some candles on the tables, but clean, and fitting decor. Service was relaxed and on it as far as never letting you be without what you need. The food... layers of flavors that you'd not expect- even in a place like this. I've been to so many but nothing has left me staring at my mom across the table wondering if I should stomp my feet or walk to the back and thank the chef. Hit up during happy hour, the deviled eggs are amazing. Had to request without chili oil for my mom. The falafel/ wow. The WHIPPED FETA and pita. Come ON!- there are flavors that shouldn't be allowed and I'm so glad they are. Never had a soft pillowy fresh one before. The chicken kabob..the caramel.. the chili flakes.. I could drink that. Used the rest of my pita to sop it up. Beef lamb kabob was stunning- almost at the top of my personal heat limit. Had the chocolate pistachio torte.. so good. I will have to come back next time I'm in town. PLEASE GO HERE.

The spot: this is a really cool spot! Inside is open, the chairs are comfy, the decor was inviting and felt very fitting for the cuisine. Service: service was slow. We waited quite a bit to order our food and then for our drinks, and it just kind of continued with the rest of the meal. I am going to allow grace, because it was restaurant week and they were very busy! Our server ended up giving us the wrong dessert (it was still yummy), but he comped a drink for me. He was very apologetic, and it all worked out. The food: we loved it! The food had so much flavor and was so yummy! My husband started with the deviled eggs and I started with the potato latkes. Both were delicious! The eggs were totally unique and so good! The potatoes were perfectly crispy and the spicy tzatziki they are served with was perfect on them! For our entrees I got the Kofta Kabab and my husband got the Turkish Mac and Cheese. Again, both so good! The kabob was cooked perfectly, the flavor of the keeled rice they are served with was amazing. It was sweet, but also savory at the same time. My husband really enjoyed his mac and cheese as well. It was also unique and the cheese was so good. Lastly the dessert, while it wasn't what we ordered, it was still great. It had a wonderful flavor and texture. It was a great experience! We will definitely visit again!

Menu on the outdoor patio - June 2025

Came here recently on a weekday with some coworkers who were in town and we sat outside on the patio. We ordered a variety of small plates and bites from the menu to share family style and I can't say there was one dish we didn't enjoy. Definitely get extra pita - you'll use it! Only less than positive comment was that we didn't love the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc we ordered - it was very sweet. I'd love to see Baba offer more Maryhill or other local KY/Spokane wines on the menu in the future.

This is a great Mediterranean Restaurant, located in a scenic area of Spokane Washington. I visited during happy hour and ordered several items from the happy hour menu and one for them from the regular menu; everything that I order was outstanding. The dishes had a very complex and bold flavors, and the service was outstanding. The happy hour menu was very affordable. This is a great place of you are vegetarian, there are many meatless options, as well as numerous meat options on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Cool cocktails. They were able to amend our order due to my partners celiac. Yummy food!

They have amazing cocktails and can amend some dishes if you have allergies. Yummy food!

    Oyster Mushroom Souvlaki

I had found Baba through Yelp and visited on a Wednesday evening not realizing the Market event was also happening the same evening. Overall, I did enjoy the food. Ordered the Kawarma and King Oyster Mushroom Souvlaki. I don't know if the hummus used for the Kawarma is the same that is on the menu by itself or with the wild mushrooms. I would think it was as this would be the most efficient for the kitchen. On the menu, it does say that the hummus is silky smooth. What I received, while yummy, I would not describe as silky smooth. I have had the opportunity to travel to Israel where the hummus is amazing and the consistency they are able to achieve, I still have not found here. So not sure if that's a fair comparison or what they were aiming for. The spiced lamb was flavorful but a bit salty for me. I do wish it was in slightly smaller pieces so it would be easier to pick up with the pita without needing utensils. I loved the fresh pita that came with the hummus. Personal preference, would have loved it more if it was toasted a bit longer so there was some more chew to the pita. The King Oyster Mushroom Souvlaki was a super simple but super yummy tasting dish. I love just about anything mushroom so could not go wrong with this choice. I would have ordered, if it was an option on the menu, a side of pickled veggies but I did not see that. I think it would have helped break up the salt in the lamb.

The food was delicious and very fresh--the servings are ample, and everyone in my (picky) family loved what we got. The smashed potatoes were lovely, and the eggs were poached absolutely perfectly. Service was excellent and very prompt, without being hovering. Our waitress was friendly and sweet. The interior is also really nice, with large murals, and a modern-meets-vintage feel. I was shocked that brunch was not more busy, but it's going to be my go-to spot.

Shakshuka (Red Pepper Stew), Fofta Kofta Kebab (2)

The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing and delicious. My friend and I didn't really talk for a solid 15 minutes because we were eating our food so seriously. Am personally a Shakshuka lover, and it was absolutely worth it. (The best part was definitely the naan bread!) The waitress and hostess were both so sweet and nice! The ambiance here is also so nice, with plenty of room between tables and kid friendly! Definitely recommend coming to eat here!

It was about a three minute drive from where I was, and I decided to go in and get a Lamb Shawarma. I am a big fan of shawarmas and I have had many different types from many different middle east countries, so I went in with high standards, especially after reading the reviews. The service was friendly and nothing to complain about. Ambiance wise, this is a place where you go up to the counter and order your food and seat yourself and eat. It is not a sit-down restaurant or a place with waiter service. The Shawarma came out close to $20. It came with fries as well. The fries were not anything out of the ordinary but the shawarma itself was not very seasoned. The meat was cooked fine and there were no red flags, but I think the seasoning was very underwhelming. Maybe I didn't order the right thing, but I think a shawarma is pretty standard. I would probably not return, if given the chance.

My wife and I had a rare night out for dinner last night and we were in Post Falls. The White House Grill is famous for their garlicky foods (not all) and we like that. We could smell garlic at the entrance. My wife ordered a version of a gyro and Greek salad, which she described as "OK." It was a pita with curried chicken, unlike what she preferred as a gyro (chicken, no curry), but she tried it. I ordered the souvlaki (lamb kabobs), served over a large bed of rice and with "garlicky" green beans. The lamb, by the way was very tough to cut and to chew, more like mutton but not with any fat. Rethinking, I shouldn't have tried lamb at all, simply on ethics (mine). It looked enticing but I couldn't taste any of it. That is because I couldn't smell any of it, even when holding the plate right under my nose. No smell, no taste. That was because our 18-ish server was reeking of perfume, like she bathed in it. I believe there was another servicer of about the same age walking around with the same odor. It reminded me of a church service and elderly ladies. The most difficult part here is that our server was great! She was clear-spoken, sharp, and friendly. I just couldn't breathe when she came to our table (3-4 times). Maybe she doesn't like to smell garlic or want to smell like it, herself, but I can't return. I have two adult children who are both professional servers, so I hope these young women will understand and make adjustments for the customers. She truly is great at her job, otherwise.
