Okay, it's been a minute since I've been to Baba, but I've been meaning to leave this review for a…read morewhile now. I actually picked up gift cards for the Eat Good Group at Costco because I wanted to bless a friend with a night out at Baba and honestly, it was such a good choice. I love this restaurant group in general. They also own places like The Eatery and Honey Eatery and Social Club (and a few others I'm probably forgetting), and what I appreciate is that each spot feels totally different while still having that same quality and care behind it. Baba has more of a Mediterranean-inspired vibe, and the food really reflects that. I'll be honest I don't even remember exactly what I ordered (it was one of those super busy weeks), but I do remember how good everything tasted... and I've got pictures to prove it. The atmosphere was great, service was kind, and overall it just had a really unique feel compared to other places. It's definitely its own vibe, in a good way. Even though I'm late on this review, it stuck with me enough to come back and write one which says a lot. I really loved the food and the flavors, and I'd absolutely recommend checking out Baba.

Another amazing visit to Baba…read more I was in town with some coworkers for a work dinner. Our server was so helpful and made some great recommendations. We got the short ribs and dip platter. Portions were huge and easily fed all 3 of us. I loved being able to try all the dips and pickles. Got the coconut sorbet for dessert and it was the perfect end to a meal. Light and refreshing.

We have been at this restaurant several times before and it never disappoints. We ordered the Mixed Grill again and it was amazing. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and the Curry Chicken was out of this world!! The rice, prawns, and green beans complement the dish perfectly. Our service was excellent and the ambience is always casual. Great food and a great atmosphere!!

My wife and I had a rare night out for dinner last night and we were in Post Falls. The White House Grill is famous for their garlicky foods (not all) and we like that. We could smell garlic at the entrance. My wife ordered a version of a gyro and Greek salad, which she described as "OK." It was a pita with curried chicken, unlike what she preferred as a gyro (chicken, no curry), but she tried it. I ordered the souvlaki (lamb kabobs), served over a large bed of rice and with "garlicky" green beans. The lamb, by the way was very tough to cut and to chew, more like mutton but not with any fat. Rethinking, I shouldn't have tried lamb at all, simply on ethics (mine). It looked enticing but I couldn't taste any of it. That is because I couldn't smell any of it, even when holding the plate right under my nose. No smell, no taste. That was because our 18-ish server was reeking of perfume, like she bathed in it. I believe there was another servicer of about the same age walking around with the same odor. It reminded me of a church service and elderly ladies. The most difficult part here is that our server was great! She was clear-spoken, sharp, and friendly. I just couldn't breathe when she came to our table (3-4 times). Maybe she doesn't like to smell garlic or want to smell like it, herself, but I can't return. I have two adult children who are both professional servers, so I hope these young women will understand and make adjustments for the customers. She truly is great at her job, otherwise.

We had the Beef Manto dumplings, the chicken kebab, and an order of the curried eggplant. Everything was packed full of flavors. We went before the dinner hour, and our server explained it would take about 20 minutes. Worth the wait! My wife and I enjoy cooking lots of varied cuisines at home, and consequently feel like the bar is set pretty high when we eat out. Needless to say, we'll be back. It's nice to feel good about supporting local restaurants instead of just buying generic corporate fast food.

I got an order of the Manto (dumplings), the Koobideh kebab, and the meatballs with a side of rice. The Manto was prepared well and was tantalizing as I had hoped. The koobideh was flavourful, perfectly cooked, and just what I wanted. The Meatballs with a side of rice was more of me trying something new, and I can say it was full of flavour and I was not disappointed at all. I highly recommend this place to all those who like Afghan food, and even those who have not given it a try. Please do! Service staff was friendly and ambiance made me feel like I was at a restaurant/gathering in Afghanistan, and made my imagination create a positive association. Prices are on the higher end. Expect to pay about $20+ for each dish. My bill came out to about $70, but I'll have to say the food was excellent, and I plan on returning one more time before I leave Spokane.

If you're expecting traditional Persian or Mediterranean food you'll be disappointed…read more Saturday night with a group of 10, we were pretty much the only ones in the restaurant. Our host was the chef and also the server He actually did a good job. Beside not really talking to us, he wasn't too delayed with the service The food was "Eh" The pita was more of a thin bread... kinda had a chemically taste to them The basmati rice was almost flavorless beside that chemical taste again. Large portions ... but large portions of "eh" food didn't seem like a plus at the end of the day Eggplant curry was ok... Chicken kabob was better than ok.. chicken was a little dry Friends at the table ordered the qorma-sabzi... this was actually the highlight of the meal. Was super flavorful .. was glad the portion was on the larger side We sat in the private booth, where you sit with your legs under the table to give you the middle eastern vibe like your sitting on the floor That was actually pretty cool. Private room in the corner. Our group of 10 had a great time together, because everyone was pretty cool... unfortunately the food was not The vibe was cool, was impressed with the 1 guy running the restaurant, but the food was not up to par. Ive read every single review until now and the majority of the are stellar. I will chalk them up to having a simple pallet that is easily satisfied. Unfortunately I've had the opportunity to travel and have authentic ethnic foods so my standards are very high this ranks at the bottom of all the Mediterranean I've ever eaten. Ambiance and atmosphere was 5 stars Service was 3.7 Food was ... well just say we fed all the left overs to the chickens a couple days later as reality sunk in and we realized we wouldn't be warming up that food again ..

I hardly run into Afghan restaurants, so I was really excited to try this place. We came here for lunch. It wasn't very busy. I saw a few families come in, so this place is great for big groups. I ordered the Manto and my husband ordered the eggplant curry. I've had afghan manto before as an appetizer, but never as an entree. The portions were huge, and each dish were large enough for two people to share. I don't know what kind of sauces are included with these dishes, but they're so delicious. I also like the yogurt sauce that it came with. The dishes were already good by itself, but the yogurt sauce made it a lot better. I'd like to try other things next time, but you can't go wrong with the manto and eggplant curry!
